- The Sunday Times has reported that the cost for repairing the United Kingdom's largest warship has increased to £20 million, and the repair duration is expected to be longer than initially anticipated.
Not good enough heads should role and the builders and mod held accountable this should be payable by the builders of vessel why do we never get what we pay for torys and labour are in my opinion corrupt and filling their pockets
Thales, the French company are the culprits. They misaligned the propellor and shafts. It`s high time we used, Only British. Including our nuclear power, again being clucked up by the frogs.

They will be past their usefulness by the time they`re both in working order.
Its not just the Starboard shaft but the port one as well . I suspect the ships structural frames holding the propshaft bearings are weak and not secure enough . This will mean awhoke new structural hull design to make the shafting more rigid . Propshafts have to be perfectly in line or they will overheat and seize rendering the ship a sitting duck in a theater of war . The cost will more likely be half a billion pounds to re hull the ship if indeed it ever can be done . For what its worth , I think the same fate will happen to the QE as same hull configuration . Imagine if WW3 kicks off and we got our newest fighting capitol ship stuck useless and helpless out of the water and a target for the enemy . What an absolute fiasco We would have been better off recommissioning the big US Battleships IOWA and Missouri rather than spend taz payers money on this badly designed white elephant .
Pls why not more of these news about UK defence programs etc cause they are so interesting 🤔 👍 😀 😉 😬 😏..
