People forget that One had assistants which greatly helped him with Mob Psycho. He is a great manga artist, but he still greatly lacks on a technical level. But I guess that doesn't matter when you have such amazing compositions and paneling.

Yeah, I mean, it's not just the illustration that is part of the art. Story, world building, and dialogue are also elements of art apart from illustration. If you drew thousands upon thousands of panels of comic or manga, and the quality was consistent in all those other departments, then I think that's great, even if the illustration isn't top quality. In a lot of ways, it's a blessing that the art style is so simple that someone who wasn't very talented at first could endlessly create and use it to make stories that would take other manga artists years longer to create.
All art is bad when an artist begins. It's awesome to look back and see how far they've improved. And you dear commenter of this video YOU BEST GET TO DRAWING
That's just wrong. The webcomic has kinda stopped and rarely releases chapters anymore. One is a great storyboard artist and his input has certainly influenced the composition of a lot of iconic panels as well as the paneling itself. The manga also has greatly expanded upon story all of which was written by One. The manga is NOT an adaptation of the webcomic, it's reimagined of the series with One still at the helm.
He IS good at figuring out where a panel should be looking. There's often only a few panels that need to be accentuated on very differently. And he is a REALLY good writer. He has quite a few projects, and all of them carry his humour in different ways, but he really is immensely good at crafting stories that double down on action and humour. His take on isekai was genuinely refreshing.
One Punch man died after One stopped working fully on the web comic. One Punch Man manga is one of the worst filler crammed piece of generic slop I’ve seen in my life. Shame to see such an amazing series be destroyed for “better art”

I think it's more fair to criticize Anime season 2's art behind a full studio than the webcomic made by one guy. Especially when I feel like the webcomic lately has been better than ever.
One thing people don't mention enough about OPM, it's not just a good action manga series. It's also a great drama series. The realistic facial expressions of the art style really pushes that aspect far.
I love the fact that from time to time Murata will revert back to One's art style for comedic effect since it not only turns the commonly serious scene into a joke, but also shows how although One's art may be considered bad by most standards, it has its charm and uses, and how it actually does fit for an action comedy series showing how genius both Murata and One are.
Opm is one of the greatest manga of all time. It is also the best superhero genre manga of all time. The art is the best in manga history nothing comes close. And the fact we are seeing such incredible art with superpowers and superheros makes the art even more amazing.
One thing I hate about people is when they say "erm ONE's art is actually SO good and incredible, 100x better than Murata!" Like fr stop lying to yourself. Yes he can draw, hell even better than my stick figure drawing self, but I'm not about to say his art is god tier. I think you should've also mentioned how much One has improved in his drawing since he started working on OPM. Sure, his current art is still not even close to Murata's art from the first manga chapter of OPM, but it's still a MASSIVE improvement.
the emotions on the faces were translated so well from the original, that might have been the most important part and even in the OG web comic they were done super well. I almost think he is actually a really good artist.

It can not be overstated that while One has minimal skill at drawing (though that has improved significantly over the years) he basically is a master of everything else. Even with his bad art, he has a way of laying it out in the perfect way, capturing just enough detail, that even if you can't understand exactly what is going on in some panels, you feel what is going on. Also he is a true master of storytelling, 99% of stories about overpowered characters eventually end up as absolute garbage, but One wrote two stories about two different characters who are both overpowered, yet makes them immensely entertaining and gripping, in two completely different ways.
One of my favorite scenes in the Manga is the one where, in the meteorite arch, the steel knight flies onto the roof of the building. (around chapter 25) That chapter was in color and looked amazing.
Fun fact: a fan translator, boon scanlation Blogspot, translated the original OPM between 2014 and 2017 before it gained traction. He is a translator who picks up indie webtoons manga that no one translates.
i also love how the action flows in OPM . is super dynamic and full of life . and he does it with anything really , from hand to hand combat to sword fights to super power dbz like scenes . he does it all super well . that something people do not give enough credits for . it super hard

I disagree about One’s fights being hard to follow entirely nor do I think his art is horrible. I think typically every panel he made conveyed a lot of information effectively and with personality. Yes the linework is “shitty” but it’s not shitty

the only reason why i know of one punch man is cuz i went to my dads gf place and me and this kid were sorta friends and I asked him what was playing on the TV and the only thing that was playing during that moment was the opening and I loved it maybe at the time I didnt care much but ive rewatched one punch man a couple times now and love it
very unpopular opinion: i strongly believe one's webcomic is much superior to murata's manga adaptation murata's version trades the webcomic's suberb character building, paneling, pacing, and themes to be just another overly-detailed action manga while misunderstanding the appeal of the webcomic entirely. one's art is now really well done and charming in the latest chapters anyways.

I disagree about One’s fights being hard to follow entirely nor do I think his art is horrible. I think typically every panel he made conveyed a lot of information effectively and with personality. Yes the linework is “shitty” but it’s not shitty
People see a video on youtube and think the person making it has any sort of authority over the subject they are speaking of. Clearly, anyone can make a video on anything.

God coming over the moon is my single favorite sequence of panels in any manga ever. Its so perfectly chilling and awesome, and completely sells how otherworldly it is, especially since murata decided to color it. Hes an absolute genius

Im not discrediting murata, but i think we should also give some attention to his assistants. Without their help murata would probably not be as popular as he is now as an artist.

People say that ONE’s drawing is horrible but it’s good enough to see the most important parts and the emotions of the characters which is also extremely important.

the only reason why i know of one punch man is cuz i went to my dads gf place and me and this kid were sorta friends and I asked him what was playing on the TV and the only thing that was playing during that moment was the opening and I loved it maybe at the time I didnt care much but ive rewatched one punch man a couple times now and love it
very unpopular opinion: i strongly believe one's webcomic is much superior to murata's manga adaptation
murata's version trades the webcomic's suberb character building, paneling, pacing, and themes to be just another overly-detailed action manga while misunderstanding the appeal of the webcomic entirely. one's art is now really well done and charming in the latest chapters anyways.
