My daughter is a pretty shy, quiet young lady. She doesn’t date much and doesn’t like dating culture. A friend of hers talked her into trying tinder. Most of the guys want short term “fun” and she ignores those. But even the ones she matched with that appear promising start out vulgar or overtly sexual not long into the conversation. She showed me messages she gets from young men-I’d say age 21-29, and it baffles me. When she’s tried to steer the conversation to any topic other than sex, she’s criticized ridiculed for being prudish. We are not a highly religious family, but we are highly moral and she has respect for herself. I don’t know where all these young men are who want a woman with self respect and traditional values, cause they aren’t in our neck of the woods. I was in a relationship with my gf for several yrs. I eventually proposed to her and we remained engaged for some yrs but did not set a date. I was having trouble taking the last step. Eventually she left because we weren't married. I never agreed with her leaving for that reason. We had a strong relationship. We worked hard to get to that point. I'm as faithful a guy as you can find, and took very good care of her. Her family even thanked me for treating her the way in which I did. We planned our lives. Talked about having a family and how we would raise our children. We were on the same page as we were raised in similar households. I also believe people should plan their lives and families, not just accidentally hav kids when you're not prepared for the time and financial commitment. The person she eventually started dating was nothing like me. Wasn't even sure he wanted kids. She compared us all the time, given that shortly after leaving she reached back out to me, and we started spending time together, and talking very often. This while she was still with her new person. They were recently married, I believe this past October. She finally got her title. I don't have anything against marriage, I just don't agree with the importance placed in it. Idk if things hav gotten better for her, bit she wasn't happy with him when were still talking. At the end of the day marriage is really just a title. People are married and treat each other like complete shit, and there are people like us who treated each other with love and respect. I was always there for her and rhats by her admission. I was committed to her and treated her family like my own, but the title was enough to throw all of that away.

Most men in my friend group and age range 19-21 are either single,virgins,have had 1 relationship and a small percentage are sleeping around so from our perspective women are now sleeping around more than men in general.

They were recently married, I believe this past October. She finally got her title. I don't have anything against marriage, I just don't agree with the importance placed in it. Idk if things hav gotten better for her, bit she wasn't happy with him when were still talking. At the end of the day marriage is really just a title. People are married and treat each other like complete shit, and there are people like us who treated each other with love and respect. I was always there for her and rhats by her admission.
