Ive always had a ton of respect for Welsh rugby teams. Full credit for the heart and the passion that they showed in todays game. As a Bok supporter.. I really would love to see Wales come back and start performing like they have in the past. But they are a young team and they need time to grow and develop. Loved watching their skipper as well as Morgan and Botham. Great attitude! I know there might be a shortage of depth and talent at the moment.. which gets me to ask.. before getting rid of Gatland, who I think is a top coach and deeply cares about Welsh rugby, what do Welsh supporters think another coach could do differently that Gatland isnt doing? Good luck Wales! And thanks Alfred for your videos. Love your reviews!
I'm a Welshman, Love watching South African rugby, here in Wales, professionalism has never took off, however, onwards and upwars. Dig deep and march on. Voices heard saying rugby has gone professional but the union hasn't? Not sure, as busy working to support my family. Anyway, I'm happy with Gatland, perhaps we need to look at the structure - we obviousy dont have stregnth in depth to support 4 regions. anyway, I'm off to Cardiff city centre for a beer in 'HaHa's' - hope to share a beer with some of the welsh plaayers and some of the Bocks. Well played the Springboks.
I'll never forget us being hammered 57-0 in Hamilton and wondering if we'll ever be competitive again at that level. The sun however does come up tomorrow. Keep your heads up Wales , things will get better.
Boks scratchy, not their most fluid, but good result. Some promising young Welsh players. Hang in there, you’ll rebound because rugby is part of your DNA. Watch Chasing the Sun to see where the boks were and where they got to in a few years with the right coach and will to win again. RSA did it, the Wallabies are looking like doing it. Vasbyt!
As a Springbok fan I find myself being very critical of their performance in many of their recent games, just knowing there's a lot of room for improvement. It's not exactly disappointment, just more like a nagging frustration even though i know I should be over the moon delighted with the year we've had and the leaps and bounds made in development of players. I thought Wales played a pretty respectable game, they showed heart and some decent plays at times whilst under enormous pressure. I'm not familiar enough with the intricacies of the Welsh problems to pass judgement on Mr Gatling but i have learned over many decades of loving rugby that these bleak patches come and go in cycles, Wales won't be struggling for ever and similarly the Bokke won't be riding high forever either. Thanks to Wales for the enjoyable game and i look forward to seeing them heading for greatness again soon.
Well done to an experimental year. It had to be done!! To win with 51 odd players!! We are blessed ! We will see more fluent rugby next year. Tx Alfred. Glad your back.🇿🇦🇿🇦
Well done, Boks. Feel sorry for Wales. 1st half the game was done as a contest, but the 2nd half was a little scrappy. I'm not sure when the complete performance for the Boks is coming, and this remains a scarry prospect for their opposition.
Gatlin looked to have zero energy or expectations other than defeat. Wales put up a good fight tbough. SA didn't run rings around them. Sa scored point but had to work for it.
Even when Pollard was on the field, Hendrikse was still the goal kicker!!!!....SA JUST KEEP PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE. THAT'S WHERE WE ARE SO DOMINANT. I'd love to have a comparison in the team of today and the players that played in this Autumn Nations series compared to the world cup team we field in 2027
He is 61 years old now I think this pressure is unfair for him it's not his fault that he has a extremely poor system to deal with. Like the republic of Ireland football coach position team is so talentless that it means not matter there quality results will be shite cause there no talent in the team and the systems in place to get new players is poor
As Bok supporter I was frustrated with the errors, scrappiness, wastefulness etc. The Boks looked so much in control and not challenged by Wales that they seemed to lack concentration. And I got the feeling that there was a lot of selfish play, as if they all wanted to get on the scoreboard so sometimes players wanted to score themselves instead of making sure of the score and passing to someone in a better position. It felt like my golf, birdies and pars mixed with lost balls and triple bogies. So my handicap never got below 18 because I couldn't string together 18 good holes consistently. If the Boks can learn to be more clinical, have more awareness of where support players are etc. they will be fantastic. Having said that, I don't want to be greedy so I appreciate that it's a good time to be a Bok supporter. They rarely look like losing.
This Welsh still applied themselves to score even at the death of the test match. They want to play, are eager to play, and have the belief that drives them, and the people that support them. It takes a lot of courage to show up each week, and they are up for it. And they crossed a try line twice which is probably the most difficult currently to get across. They should take great heart from this effort. They'll only get better 💪
Proud of the welsh boys today. First time they have played like a Gats side this autumn. Played with heart. Hard can get these guys going, just going to take another year.
At the end of the day...SA have used 50 players this year...... As far as records go, what is the second best??... They are always appearing to be not playing their best but still win???. As a fan this can appear frustrating but in bigger picture. One cannot be amazed at the possibilities of the future of South Africa rugby. The depth is unbelievable. People talk about Rassie since he took over in 2018 but forget what he put in place since at least 5 to 10 years beforehand. He's been planning this and putting in place. What all good infrastructures should do. Building at grassroots level. The fact that we could honestly feel three different teams and still appear in the top 10 tier rugby Nations of the world says a lot. Yes, there are a lot of players that will not make the next world cup but I think we need to looks past 2027 because at the moment if his intentions are kept we are looking at at least another 10 years. Bok dominance... That is not just because we are the best... It's because we have in place system that ensures continuity... For future generations... And right now if you were a South African rugby player on an unprofessional level. What more could you have going than wanting to be a buck because you can see the possibilities..Rassie is a good man and not just on a rugby level but on a life skills and business level... Excuse my language and punctuation but I dictate my phone and can't be bothered to correct the spelling😂
Rassie and his coaching staff have used 2024 to rebuild the squad, blood a phenomenal amount of new talent and introduce new attacking tactics (Tonyball) into the team for a success rate of about 85%, whilst, themselves, only operating at about 75% . That's just awesome and scary for the rest of the world going forward. ❤ from CPT, SA #Go Bokke!!!
I thought Wales were in for a shellacking but wasn’t as bad as I thought. I still think Gatland needs to go as he is out of ideas. Wales needs some easy games against Portugal and Uruguay to get their confidence back as they have some good youngsters. South Africa are monsters and are well ahead of NZL, France and Ireland. Next tier back are Argentina, England, Scotland and Australia which will be the game of the weekend.
5:05 this year was about building depth and developing the new attack we play. We should be more clinical in the next few years with that and the new players now will be settled when the next world cup comes. But also be consistent in winning matches.
As an SA fan I am very happy with a clean sweep on the tour. However, I feel frustrated that we never put up a complete performance. I don't feel we are playing to our potential.
As a springbok supporter I was disappointed. Wales used to be a formidable team, they nearly took us out of the 2019 world cup! To see them so lacklustre wasn’t fun. I hope they regroup and come back to their old form soon.
everyone might think Springboks is an already settled team but we also growing as we would lose some key players from 2019 and 2023 World Cup. Yet rassir has a system and we are a growing team with some new coaching staff. Yes we winning games ...not always with 15point or more buffer. but Springboks still trying new tactics , new innovation... also upskilling the new talent and make them part of the rotations. The sprinboks basically has 35 to 50 excellent players but they get rotated to get experience and test new things out. so the best is yet to come. This is maybe a 50% performance... we not close to 80% peak. Its Loading for 2027.
Wales played exceptionally well. They have youth & talent on their side. They are rebuilding from scratch. Gatland must stay on. SA are a class act with tons of experience.
This is a building year for the Boks. Assuming everything keeps tracking at the same pace, the impressive year is going to be 2026. Next year we’ll see more refinement with selections, getting more caps into a shrinking pool of players.
According to pundits and the Welsh press, the Wales team has reached rock bottom. Well if thats the case, there's only 1 direction they can go and thats up. As a Saffa, I hope they keep WG because he is the right man with an inexperienced squad. Give them time. Luck to Welsh for the future.
I think wales were superb they really played their hearts out this could have been an 80 score had it not been for such a brave performance by wales they will be better for this and will surprise a few people in the 6 nations series

But looking back on that run was that a sign of SA rebuilding or Wales being good..? Yesterdays score is reflecting where the 2 teams are at the moment. Many predicted a lot worse. I think WG told most of the senior players after the 2023 RWC he would be focusing on the younger squad members. I think that's wrong as most of them then retired or just left. I'd prefer it if he did what SA and Ireland are doing. Drip feed youngsters in and tried to get a few years out of them. Rather than on mass. He must have said something because so many retired in a short space. Or was it just dominoes? What I will say is I know Jac Morgans parents, and close friends etc as Im from the same town, Ammanford, and a while back the chat was he and a few other youngsters couldn't wait to start play for Warren (when he was coming back) Now is that feeling amongst the youngsters is still a valid motivation, I'm not sure...? That said, Costelow has been very poor lately (well usually actually) yet yesterday he was pretty good. Is that down to WGs motivation? Wales' close up defense was good and forced SA to kick often. Or Wales would even get a turnover. The only stat they bettered SA at. I'd like to see Warren move upstairs to maybe take Nigel Walkers job. Would a new coach fo anything to change where we are ATM? I doubt it but who knows. Let's see how we get on after the 6N and then he may the decision for us. We have Ireland and England at home this season. A blue away year. If Wales don't progress or look in the least bit competitive this 6N then yes, he should go. I'd like to see Brad Mooar get the role amd Warren stay on in an advisory capacity. He's been there long enough to know Welsh rugby's strengths and weaknesses more than anyone on the planet at the moment
I’m not sure why Wales picked the teams they played this Autumn nations, Fiji,Australia and SA are 3 of the most physical out there. If you are in the place Wales are in where building confidence is key as well as getting game time. Portugal, Georgia and Japan would have been far better. Should the English and Welsh leagues merge?
The two games we lost by a point each. Two points and the season would be undefeated, four points and it could have been a 100% successive rate. Next year our rugby championship is harder, two games against nz in nz.
SA played Scotland Wales and England , I expected them to dominate these teams , they didn’t play the teams the should have played Ireland and France , this year they have been the best team and have proved they have real depth going forward, but they won the rugby championship just like Ireland won the 6 nations they lost one less game than Ireland , so I believe there will be much competition for them in the future with Ireland France and NZ very close behind.
Gatland must stay I saw amazing players but their backline has no direction. If only they can get a Tony brown 😪 scrum was just as good as springboks. So all 😢 they will comeback.
I don't see anyway up for Wales in the near future, they have the six nations early next year and I predict that they won't win a single game next year either which is sad to see in such a proud rugby nation
Wales should get Felix Jones and a few other young coaches, they already at the bottom, so good time to go full force in roping in young players and coaches
Dont think him going or being sacked solves anything. Shame for him as his return tarnishes his legacy a bit. Wales don't have the players at the minute and could be in terminal decline, but the same was said of Australia and they seem to have done something of a 180 but can tap the pacific islands. Ok SA they’ve not be stellar in the Autumn but have probably learned a lot more about their woder squad. I find they can ptolthlea level that is just better than the opposition, today aside they don't tend to completely blow sides away. Defiantly the number 1 side in the world. A fixture against the the French would have been good 😅
A building year. Didn’t always field the best team. Rassie has said it clear enough. Using it to tinker unlike 2020 when they didn’t have the opportunity owing to the pandemic.
If I was part of the WRU, I’d be terminating Howley’s contract. He clearly hasn’t justified his salary. If Gatland is upset by that and wants to go, so be it.
Correct sentiment repeated in comments: most teams, certainly including SA, have been in the "bleak place". BUT Gatland's Welsh team a couple of years ago didn’t know how to lose. Gats has proven that he is one of the all-time greatest coaches. Why get rid of him when he is not the problem. Similar applies to England: Clive Woodward would not squeeze a single point more out of the current England team. The talent is simply not there. It's a blatant lie to say that England is brimming with talent. Not a single England player would make a World 15, not even a Northern Hemisphere 15. Sometimes no coach or staff change is going to remedy a lack of talent.
just to give you a Springboks DNA,we don't play entertainment Game,we play to Win that's all.interms of Performance you will always have that inverted commers interms how we win.Wales played very well its unfortunately Chanps knows how to Win Games.
Wales should of won a few games. If you lose 12 from 12 games then there is a serious problem within the Welsh Ruby Union. Who to blame? Union or coach? Something needs to be done. Wales used to be so good in the past nowadays you can compare with Georgia or Portugal. I think Gatland should not have renewed his contract and left with a good winning record and good reputation. He came back coaching mostly new players and thought he could win like in the old days. Should of relaxed at home with his family after coaching Wales for a long time with good success. Greed tempted him to return because he was offered a good salary on his past success. Now that Wales has lost 12 out of 12 games his reputation as a great coach has gone. The old saying 'you are only as good as your last game' has plummeted his career. Doubt he will get another top class coaching job. Looking at him during the game it appeared he was just going through the motions with lack of interest.
I READ A LOT OF COMMENTS..WELL LET ME PUT RECORD STRAIGHT...DO U KNOW GUYS WHY WE WIN ALL GAMES???.. is because we are proud to be south African..rassie and the boys are proudly south african as we south African citizens proud to be south african that's why we win..they play proudly and get support proudly from south african.
the riddance should begin with the WRU itself, it's whole entity tbh - they have been killing the game since the early 1980's mun. Still amateurs in the 'professional' game " druan arnom bois bach " 🤬 Gatland might be the next scapegoat - but their structure is rotten to the core. " Ych a fi"
I think I (as many other Bok fans) have too high expectations of the Boks. I seem to expect absolutely flawless performances and get frustrated at errors and mistakes. So happy at the incredible depth, the vasbyt , the power and aggression and hope we can build even further. Full credit to those Welsh boys who gave their all. Like SA in 2019, Australia in 2024 Wales will be back....like they say.. the only way is up..
I think regardless of coach wales will have terrible performances for the next few years or decade they need full re build from bottom to top. Wales should sack there entire board
Gatland did not show any enthusiasm, hands folded, disinterested look most of the game, when TV camera panned onto him.wont last much longer. Wales needs a fresh younger enthusiastic coach
If anyone remotely criticise s Gatland I will have them whipped it's not even remotely his fault the players are not good enough it's a poor crop end off 😱🤯

Alf thanks for the good punditry the year.Bok fan.
What needs to be kept in mind is that SA used 52 players in 2024. That alone says everything....
An experimental year to sift through chaff until we have a deep core to hone. 2025 is the key year to consolidate the team for 2027.
Gatland isn't the issue - there are far more issues further up the food chain. Wales played well considering.
Just got to get behind the welsh team now , iv been one of they’re biggest critic but we are where we are at the moment 😢
Could not agree more.
Wales played their hearts out but they simply didn't have the ammunition to compete.
An inexperienced Wales 🏴 side and a Springboks side that haven’t lost since Argentina shocked them a couple of months ago we are building
You cannot blame Gatland. We have only a few decent players at the moment.
Gatland made a mistake coming back IMO. He should have only came back for the WC last year and left to rejoin the Chiefs in NZ
The Welsh put up a good fight.
The Bokke won but below par performance especially in the second half.
just to give you a Springboks DNA,we don't play entertainment Game,we play to Win that's all.interms of Performance you will always have that inverted commers interms how we win.Wales played very well its unfortunately Chanps knows how to Win Games.
Maybe Wales can hire EDDIE JONES? It’s a nice Welsh name at least.
You should say the words “proud” and “South African” more ..
Wales, I beg you get rid of those coaches ASAP. Way better coaches for less money.
Gats probably working for free 😂
Did they have a closed roof at Cardiff yesterday? Thought the weather would make it closer if was open.
If gatland does stay then all his coaching staff needs to go ,we need new ideas and a new voice and pick the best players regardless of age
Saying the Boks are Nr 1 in the world is not opinion, it is a Fact!
Coach Alex Jones...
Still not sure is the Boks are really better than France
Hope he doesnt go. End of the year, horror year and now they can only go up
Not many teams can score against the Bokke and the Welsh did.
12 points 👉✈️
the riddance should begin with the WRU itself, it's whole entity tbh - they have been killing the game since the early 1980's mun.
Gatland must stay who else is there.?
Wales need to wary of the Japanese - just saying
I think regardless of coach wales will have terrible performances for the next few years or decade they need full re build from bottom to top. Wales should sack there entire board
Change the WRU..., useless - develop develop develop. Build depth. If the boks need 50 players...?
URC two teams only
If Gatland was a player he would have canned himself long ago. With his body language wouldn’t you 🤷🏽♂️.
Gatland did not show any enthusiasm, hands folded, disinterested look most of the game, when TV camera panned onto him.wont last much longer. Wales needs a fresh younger enthusiastic coach
If anyone remotely criticise s Gatland I will have them whipped it's not even remotely his fault the players are not good enough it's a poor crop end off 😱🤯
Stay
Played mediocre!!!! A SPRINGBOK SUPPORTER!!!
Gatland must stay. He just needs to find some sharp assistant coaches.
Bokke suck
😂 11-13 games won 4 world cups rugby championship champions 🏆 😂 we sure do suck alot
@@christohees9150this guy is trolling you. Probably one of the Irish trolls. He posted this same comment on other post game reviews tonight.
@@Jesus_is_Lord_316 I'm South African born and bred you turb
@@christohees9150 Ozzies rolled Wales. Bokke should have rolled Wales x10, they didn't. Enjoy living in the past.
That comment out of nowhere just made me laugh 😂
