He loves those syncopated riffs; you're right on top of them. Some rock and jazz styling here. You cover all of them with no problem, the chords and the grace ornamenting embellishments. Are they all Jobim's riffs? Again, very (apparently) relaxed mode while the music takes you on a ride. We enjoy.
So I've listened to Jobim's versions--he has the advantage of instrumentation and a rhythm section. So it's always interesting to see what Brent Edstrom "lifts" from the arrangements. As for the riff's, I'm not sure who's they are!! I am definitely relaxing into this style. It's such a crazy line of being relaxed (for the groove), but tense (to get the rhythm right). I'm not sure how to explain it properly but you want it to be accurate, but relaxed!
@@elenafortinmusic I think I've noticed something; Jobim's motion is by and large stepwise, once in a while throwing in a 3rd. I think the stepwise melodic movement creates a sensation of smoothness. Great for you to cover so many different styles.
@@DavidMiller-bp7et His melodies are REALLY smooth! He takes it even further with his One Note Samba--I love that he's written an entire "melody" with just "one" note.
👏
Loved it!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
