i love bishop in these videos he sounds like he has no idea what’s going on
He's hardly alone, who does know what's going on in this series, apart from Chris Chibnall?
@@MrDiddyDee it's almost like it's a multi-part doctor who serial with unanswered questions
Secretly he does, because he is playing Evil Dan that knows exactly everything that is going on.
That's why they always ask him, he keeps shit real.
What's the point in being alive?
I love the way Jo’s Doctor does the slow *takes off glasses* bit. It does feel like a good character trait of hers.
"They're sonic sunglasses. I don't keep my tech in my pocket, love."
@@awsmmediaguy She doesn't use sonic devices, she smart enough not to need them.
I'm Hoping Chris Chibnall Does Tie Up Loose Ends
I may not love the idea of Pre-Hartnell Doctors, but I can't deny that Jo is doing a good job with what little we've seen!
Oh yeah, no faults with her performance there. In a better timeline, she would have been cast as the 13th Doctor.
She’s isn’t a pre -hartnell she’s just after Patrick Troughton as a result of the time lords original for keeping the Doctor on Earth before Jon pertwee
@@hiltondriver5228 not technically confirmed yet, but I like that idea WAY more than pre Hartnell. I’d imagine then the Division also has a lot to do with timelords in general or else the doctor wouldn’t have been allowed to take part.
Diversity plants are all they are
@@hiltondriver5228 explain why Jon Pertwee falls out the tardis wearing troughtons outfit if she in between those two
i hope jo gets one of the specials next year and it be 75 mins, she deserves at least a McGann amount of screentime
Definitely big finish
I think like Peter Capaldi, they need to bring Jo Martin on as the 14th or 15th doctor to keep paying off the line from The Day of The Doctor, that the doctor will revisit some old faces. Keep in mind, during that episode the Tom Baker Curator Doctor only addressed what was in Matt Smith's and Peter Capaldi's Doctor's futures, and keeping any possible chaotic events out of mind of the Doctor's past self to avoid a universe ending scenario getting worse.
I mean to be fair Jo Martin technically has more onscreen appearances as The Doctor than Paul McGann now.
Remember what Jo Martin said at the end. I feel we will see her again before Jodie's Regeneration.
@Robinx1985
I don't think that's a good idea. If they start the trend of revisiting faces the show will constantly be harrassed with demands to bring back [x Doctor]
Keep the show fresh and give us a new Doctor each time. They could always give us more of other Doctor's with big finish, specials pr even spin offs.
"I'll be hard to get rid of" YOU BETTER BE, LOVE YOU
Been floating around for a bit, but I really did read into that line and I will just put it out there, it will be really hard to 'get rid of' her if she does take over and become the next Doctor! XD
@@alexandergonyea4642 My thoughts exactly
@@alexandergonyea4642 I would love her to be the next Doctor. For the little screen time she's had, she's certainly a hit with the fans.
@@PaulMichaels2010 Most definitely!
Only thing that could have improved this video would have been Jo doing the " don't forget to subscribe" bit at the end
I love it when Jodie is describing her Doctor “hehe he he he”
That sums up her Doctor wonderfully
Chaotic and hehe he he he
"I’ll be hard to get rid off"
-Jo Martin/Fugitive Doctor
What a great quote! I can’t wait to see even more of her Doctor soon 🙏 probably in the series finale? What do you think?
I definitely get the vibes we'll be seeing her at least one more time leading into the ending of "Flux". Too much with the Division and the Ravagers is pointing in that direction, or at least elaborating on her direct confrontation with them. A part of me also thinks we'll be seeing her in at least one of the Whittaker specials leading up to her Regeneration. In general, though, I just want more of her. Like the War Doctor, I feel she deserves to be fully cemented in Who canon with her own adventures separate from 13.
Would be great if Russell T Davies cast her as the next Doctor
Yea. Maybe before Jodie regenerates kinda like the Amelia pond hallucination eleven had.
@@alissafioravanti832 I would be lying if I said I didn't want that, but considering the implications thus far, I doubt it'd be the case. However, something I only just now realized is there's nothing stopping them from simply having the Fugitive Doctor and 14th Doctor from sharing the same face. Recall the Curator mentioning the Doctor "revisiting some old faces."
@@alexandergonyea4642 Good point. I do also doubt Jo will be Doctor 14 because I get the sense that regardless of what people think about the quality of the Chibnall era I think with bad wolf now producing Doctor Who they’ll want to have a fresh start with a new face in the role.
Even with her showing up so little, Jo Martin is already easily one of my favourite nuWho doctors, really happy to see her again in this episode even if it was just tiny glimpses
I like Jodie's doctor more when she takes charge. I actually felt amazed seeing her in the memory sections, she was so different and I loved that! Jodie should have been a tougher doctor imho.. When she plays it like that, she's brilliant. Shows how great of an actress Jodie is!
Agreed, I think it was a mistake trying to make her a super joyful doctor, I think the 13th doctor is at her best in the darker moments.
Same, I prefer THIS version of Thirteen. In years to come I think she will be remembered as the one who had a cheery façade hiding her secrets and feelings from her companions. I love that we've got it now but a shame it wasn't leant into earlier on.
@@hotdog1214 I really hope in a couple of years Big Finnish leans into this version of 13 for audio.
I mean, every Doctor is at their arguable "best" in the drama stage, except the Doctor is not one to behave in one specific way all the time. That's like saying: "I want my happy/edgy face all the time". While it may seem more intense to brand her this way (and believe me, I love seeing Jodie in Capaldi's clothes because the dark tone suits her like a glove), it makes little sense in the context of the narrative being told since we just reached an acceptance stage with Capaldi.
I mean, you can still have a generally "darker" Doctor, but it depends in the context of the narrative. Don't get me wrong, I like dramatic 13th but I don't think enforcing a character's MO helps anything. It may be easier to sell to viewers because roughness and confidence sells but I think it changes one major fundamental stone about the character - honesty of character.
Jo's Doctor should definitely have some adventures with River Song, I reckon
Jo Martin deserves so much better than brief cameo appearances
yeah I was actually hoping they would make that she was the next doctor!
Great reveals. ❤️
The Fugitive Doctor is imperious like Hartnell's Doctor. It shows how much life has knocked the arrogance, out of the Doctor. ❤️
That camera-mirror trick is really clever! I thought it would've just been a SFX shot of some kind. Another brilliant episode. I had a feeling that the Doctor was in a Fugitive Doctor memory about 10 seconds before she appeared - I was SO EXCITED!
I LOVE that Jodie got to play two Doctors this episode! 😍
2 Doctors, an insane police officer a Scouser or two and fuck knows who else. Never say the girl can't act.
Ahh, she needs her own series. If not taking the rains in the next season can we have a spinoff series with Jo's adventures as the fugitive doctor? Pretty pretty please?
That would be AWESOME!!!!!!
*reins like horses not weather but YES!!
Ask Big Finish
Big Finish have announced that they are going to do Audios on her.
I LOVE JO MARTIN SO MUCH, SHE'S SO AWESOME AS THE DOCTOR
My theory is that they didn't erase the Doctor's memory at all - they split their timeline instead. It would make the Timeless Child twist more palatable.
Oh yeah Good idea
Interesting idea. This would also explain the morbius doctors and the shalka doctor.
Ooooohhhh yeah sounds clever!!!
Jodie: love her.
Jo: blooooody love her
Cheered out loud when she came on screen, so good to see her again, if only briefly
I love jo’s doctor I feel like she is very much “doctor who”
Yes, she really is the Doctor.
I'd love to have her back either as the next doctor or a prequel spinoff! Imagine RTD writing a story for the fugitive doctor! 😱
That would be a Joy to watch
I wouldn’t be surprised if RTD already has a few scripts in mind for Jo.
Oh yes I want her to be the doctor she’s fantastic 🥰🥰
RTD would fuck up the Fugitive Doctor completely. She's everything he tried to remove from the Doctor's character with his crappy Twi-Who era.
You know how they say "Never mention better movies in your movie"? Yeah, it's like that when Jo Martin is on the show. And you can tell by the comments, even fans of Jodie are asking for more Jo.
Words cannot describe how much I love Jo’s performance
So do I. There’s a Pertwee level of authority and seriousness that I really like.
Jo Martin deserves a full spin-off series or show just to explore her Doctor. The potential is there and I’m sure she’d love it!
I would definitely be in if she gets her own Big Finish audio series
I honestly hate the idea of the timeless child with a passion, but I really want to see more of Jo Martin as the Fugitive
Same.
that's fair but I think no matter what you think of the timeless child, that plotline should NOT be dropped and I'm glad Chibnall is sticking to the story he wants to tell!
Can't have one wihout the other, it seems...
@@friendlyotaku9525 SInce Davies has no interest in retconning that out, I feel like he might be the one who actually make that *good*. He could make it feel more grounded and possibly more viseral than the Cartmel fanfiction it spawns from.
@@colinray4186 depends if he wants to do anything with it. He does support it and likes the idea but whether it'll play a role in his new era I don't know but it would be interesting to see him build on it! Either way I'm just excited for the future of Doctor Who with the remaining episodes of Flux, the specials next year and RTD2! Doctor Who has a very bright future and I'm very looking forward to it all!
I WANT A DIVISION SPINOFF! MAKE IT HAPPEN RTD!!! WE NEED MORE JO MARTIN!!
Just call the spinoff "Fugitive"
Maybe not RTD, but I can see Big Finish releasing a spin-off. And I’m all for that.
Loving Jo’s Fugitive Doctor, she has great confidence, gravitas and authority. Like other past Doctors she feels like a set of firm safe hands that you could trust not to panic in a crisis.
I love that "Fugitive Doctor" has become the official term for Jo Martin's Doctor, it was brilliant to see her again and hopefully we'll see more of her down the line! Both Jo Martin and Jodie Whittaker were OUTSTANDING in last night's episode, some superb performances from both of these amazing Doctors! Flux is constantly getting more and more interesting and I can't wait to see where this goes!
fugitive doctor might be the official term, but ruth/ruthless doctor is what everyone else calls her 😂
@@thedragonsunicorn even before it became the official term I saw a lot of people calling her the Fugitive Doctor. Ruth/Ruthless Doctor I have also seen but to a lesser extent.
@@friendlyotaku9525 really?! odd.. i've heard barely anyone refer to her as fugitive doctor (excluding this comment section). i've only heard ruth/ruthless doctor. 😂 we must be on different sides of doctor who twitter XD
Jo is a great Doctor. She has that presence.
I'm looking forward to getting the Fugitive Doctor in Big Finish
Her and Nine would get on so well.
"its been great being back so far" SO FAR?? YEAH JO MARTIN
I was ecstatic to see the return of the Fugitive Doctor and do hope to see more of her as well. Jo surely plays the part perfectly! I even love her style in apparel & spunk.
3:34 heh, heh, heh heh heh heh - Good god I love Jodie! The approach she took to create the 13th Doctor as an actor with the planning of her posture and mannerisms seem to be purposeful to counter Jo’s approach to the Fugitive Doctor. The Fugitive Doctor must have been in the mix from the start of planning 13’s era.
JO NEEDS HER OWN SEASONS!!!!!
Jo Martin is brilliant. I luv her and division. I want her doctor to live. And I want to see her show. Spinoff please.
Strong, powerful, beautiful, no-nonsense, kick-ass leader.
I luv her confidence and presence and depth.... I can't help but watch & be interested....
This director is bad-ass too. Really smart & detail oriented.....
Still confused about where she fits in the timeline? If she comes before 1 then her TARDIS shouldn’t be in the form of a police box and she shouldn’t go by the name of the Doctor?
The Fugitive monicker makes me believe that she was the doctor who was banished to earth and it is she who goes through the portal and is found as a child because she will somehow be touched by a weeping angel and since they usually send you back before your time stream where would it send her? Back to before and that is the reason why Jodie’s Doctor doesn’t remember her as part of her time stream and how two doctors can be in the same time with each other
You're confused because you're thinking about it more than the writers did
@@KirkLinnDeGrassi I think that she comes after the First Doctor, and between Two and Three.
This position would explain why Fugitive showed up with the Doctor's TARDIS when she first appeared; the Mouri sent her back in time at the end of the Ravagers first battle, but the Time Lords seized her and reset the Incarnation count when Three showed up by having The Fugitive Doctor regenerate into him.
The Timeless Child memories could have been a false story all along as a secondary defence if the first false story, did not work. The Time Lords are capable of setting more than one trap to hide secrets.
That is the last issue we need to fix from Classic Who: the mystery of what happened between Two and Three.
@@shauntempley9757 she’s after 2nd doctor Patrick troughton she’s the orgnal idea for doctor as a fugitive not Jon pertwee first episodes
I hope she's back soon, I was pleased to see her return but disappointed she didn't have a bigger role, and wasn't directly part of the action
I hope Big Finish do a spin-off audio series with the Fugitive Doctor.
3:34 he-he he-he-he-he *hand wiggles*
"What does the flow of time look like right now?"
I really love Jo Martin as the Doctor and I'm thrilled to see her again. I just really, really, reeeeeally hope they don't make her a pre-Hartnell Doctor. The amount of plot holes would be catastrophic.
They already did that didn’t you watch last season they put canon in a blender sadly
@@zigzagzarf Seemingly, yes. Though it's still not to late to backtrack on that, as long as this series doesn't go deeper into it. I do fear it might, considering the implications in this episode.
It's still very possible she's a Doctor between 2 and 3, and I really hope they go that route because it's such a good concept.
@@KingdomCooperFan This season is definitely going more into it. A lot of this season is about the division, which was during the timeless child era of the doctor’s life. The real question is will future showrunners acknowledge it?
@@MichaelO2000 Would be quite a conundrum for RTD to find himself in. Even if he dislikes the twist he might be a bit reluctant to change it since he and Chibnall are friends. It's very possible he might even just ignore it entirely if he decides not to rewrite it.
Brilliant to have her back! Looking forward to seeing her again, because it sure sounds like we will!
Hope RTD brings her back from "time to time" during his run...I love Jo Martin as the Doc. She plays the role as a strong female much like Sigourney Weaver in "Aliens" and Linda Hamilton in the "Terminator" movies. That is GREAT company to be in, and she pulls off being an action hero very well.
I think they really could make it work that she's the next Doctor... don't think that'll happen, but it would be brilliant.
Brilliant pairing! A modern day version of the Second and Third Doctors team up.
I love jo Martin's doctor. I hope she is the next regeneration. She is a strong doctor.
NahJo Martin is only a past incarnation, she probably regenerate into being a white dude, probably!!
@@hiltondriver5228 nah. They met twice and ruth doctor dud not recognise her
I’d be fine with the concept of the fugitive doctor if not for the whole timeless child thing
The fugitive doctor can be the 14th Doctor. I would be okay with that.
@@rodneymarsden3003 I'd say an even later incarnation would be better but yeah. I hope he RTD comes back he retcos the timeless child to having been the Master which would work so much better.
This doc needs a torchwood style spinoff show
I love Jodie's doctor she is amazing
I would love to see some prequel episodes of the "Fugitive Doctor" in the Doctor Who Series.
It's gonna be Series 6B, I'm calling it now.
I figured she would come back as this guns Yaz, Dan, and that guy were holding looked exactly like the Fugitive Doctor’s gun so I knew she would return
They do know the whole idea of regeneration was made because of William hartnells failing health so while the idea of previous doctors is interesting. It disrespects his memory. I’m sad now.
How?
@@FlorenceGray which part do you mean.
Why you are upset about the pre regenerations
@@FlorenceGray because it’s changing the story that many fans have grown up and lived with and also the doctor is a person I use as advice so basically to us its our world destroyed.
@@Byle1990s OK thanks I can see it from your perspective

I loved this I screamed 😱 at the TV when she saw her in the reflection!!!! I also love that shes living the memory she's trying to understand taking charge...Trying to understand and save her friends at the same time.. there both so awesome!!!!
Anyone realize that WE, the fans, came up with the name 'Fugitive Doctor' and not the show? This is the first time the fan name has been canonized into the fandom.
So happy she's back. They play off each other so well.
P.S. The reason I believe the Timeless Child retcon bomb was a good thing is because it essentially reboots Dr. Who to factory specs as it were. The doctor was originally conceptualized to be a mysterious authoritative alien with unknown age and unknown origins that travels through time and space.
.
As time went along more and more of the mystery was revealed. While that pleases audiences it also lessens the mystery. I remember reading that Sydney Newman (Dr Who's creator) HATED the idea of Gallifrey and was against it. The Timeless Child remedied that by destroying the concept of Gallifrey as The Doctor's place of origin. Sadly too many fans take canon and lore waaay too seriously and have a hard time letting go of thinking they have The Doctor pretty much figured out.
.
So basically we are left where we began with the Doctor being a mysterious authoritative alien with unknown age and origins and the sky is the limit - literally! Now all that is needed is a good team of writers, directors and actors equipped with a generous budget and creative license.
Joe's doctor I would love to see just a series of her after the new doctor let her come back as the next one I think she's doing amazing job
Martin feels and acts as I have become accustomed to and expect the doctor to behave. Super confident without needing braggadocia.
I would be ecstatic to have her as the next DR. ..
She feels like a TRADITIONAL DR.
Really? she doesn't remind me of Patrick Troughton or Tom Baker at all. She does remind me of William Hartnell and Jon Pertwee though. There is no such thing as a "traditional doctor" considering that The first two Doctors are played completely different.
@Tom Meehan agreed
@@AnotherScifiGuy She reminds me a bit of Colin Baker at his most arrogant, but nothing like the more eccentric or funny ones like Tennant, McCoy, Smith, Troughton or Tom Baker.
@@sallyatticum I can see some of Colin in her as well as capaldi and hartnell.
@@AnotherScifiGuy Capaldi's eventually becomes mushy, though.
It will be interesting to see what Russell does with all this going forward.
I doubt if he will make repairs but he could if we are lucky.
I do hope we get to see more of Jo Martin. And of course, she'll have a job waiting for her at Big Finish anytime she wants one. :)
I really wish that whole confrontation scene had been with Jo! I really want more screen time with her and I want to see more of her!
I really hope that the fugitive doctor ends up being the fourteenth doctor, it would bring us both a really interesting doctor and close in a good way the worst part of the last series
Jo's Doctor is just fantastic. I'd love a series starring her. Her catchphrase should be "Delicious."
I wish Jodie's Doctor had better material to work with cuz she's actually pretty fun.
The fugitive doctor is too cool bro
The return of david Tennant's MASTER
This would be off the chain!
@Tom Meehan Even David Tennant couldn't take on his old face. He was poushing in in the 50th; he's in his 50s now! But he could play the metacrisis Doctor.... I always liked the idea of him becoming a Valyard-like character turning evil and trying to gain the ability to regenerate. RTD shot a scene where he gave him a bit of the TARDIS so he could grow his own. They could use that.
Great to see her again 😊
All a bit 'Quantum Leap', with the viewer seeing one person and everyone else seeing another, isn't it?
As a huge fan of Quantum Leap growing up, I kind of like it.
@@colinray4186 Same.
Not really , the doctor quite clearly explains she is reliving a past memory of her former self which has been long forgotten, Quantum Leap never did that...!!!!
@@Fluffysweep I think they mean the visual technique rather than the story per se.
@@hotdog1214 well then he is wrong on this account too , this technique has been used in Holywood from day one, anyone remember the invisible man (in black and white ) on the tv , they were always doing this......If anything Quantum Leap was copying everyone else to be fair..!!
I agree with the fan theory that the Fugitive Doctor falls into the Season 6b timeline, between the 2nd and 3rd Doctor. When the 3rd Doctor fell out of the TARDIS he had no memories of what had happened before. And we never saw who the 2nd Doctor became. There was a season gap, which is where this came from and would fill that space nicely.
I think Jo would make an excellent 14th Doctor. There is no reason why that face couldn't become the Doctor again. Given we now know the Doctor isn't Gallifrayan, I think they may have more control over their regeneration than a Time Lord does.
I still see Jo Martin as a River Song regen...her actions just say River Song
did the BBC create the name Fugitive Doctor or did it just get popular enough in fan circles that they accepted it?
It is hard to see if Jo's Doctor will be the one after Jodie's, but it does not matter... really. With her in the show in one way or the other, I can see great stories attached to her. I am always ready for a good story.

So glad she’s back :)
Didn't expect to see her back
Loving the behond-the-scenes videos this series.
Really like Jo and her take on a Doctor, more than Jodie but the timeless child thing can honestly get lost. All for the fugitive being a future incarnation but hate how she's linked to that awful retcon.
I missed "you're pretty smart for a dog"
"Fugitive on the Judoon" turned out to be the absolute highlight of the last season and, to be honest, one of my all time favourite episodes in all of Doctor Who. And that was largely due to Jo Martins' performance as the Doctor.
I absolutely loved it.
I remember watching the episode and for first time in ages feeling the need to stay awake through the entire next night and talk about it over the internet with other people all over the world.
It was great.
So seeing Jo Martin return in "The Flux" instantly made the episode into something I really wanted to watch.
And I was not disappointed at all.
So far, after having watched the first three episodes of the current season, I am quite happy with it. And I am looking forward to the next episodes, wondering how the plot will continue and, yes, indeed hoping that Jo will return as the fugitive Doctor.
As a matter of fact, personally I wouldn't mind a spin-off with Jo Martin as the main actress.
I really want to know more about her Doctor and the things she has been up to.
They’re both such good performers haha
I also love the question/mystery of jo's team anticepating her questing who/where she is.
This series is magic
I ADORE Jo Martin's Doctor. I'm really hoping for a Big Finish series or 20 in her future.
This series has been SO GOOD. I just wish all of Jodie's series would have been this quality.
Jodie has been PHENOMINAL.
That look that Jo gave at the end didn't half remind me of Tom Baker!
They still haven’t explained when Jo Martin would have been possible in the doctor’s timeline and why she doesn’t remember.
They have, she's basically before hartnell who worked for a spec ops team for the timelords who had her memory wiped. The only thing that makes absolutely no sense is she's still called the doctor
They've been explicit enough about it. The Fugitive Doctor comes from a whole other life with other faces who lived before we ever met the ones that we know. Seeking to make a difference she came to serve in Division and fought in many secret battles on behalf of the Time Lords. However when she became disillusioned and tried to leave Division they decided to capture her, erase every shred of her memory and knowledge, and make it nearly impossible to find any bit of her existence up to that point. They then forcibly regenerated her into a newborn infant and placed him into Time Lord society, complete with a family and standard 12 regeneration limit.
But since they couldn't erase his hearts and ways of thinking he also came to call himself The Doctor and also ran away.
@@spaceboomer564 Why did her tardis look like a police box?
@@Luke-ky5ed That's the one part that isn't clear, could have just fallen in love with that same shape twice over ( because I mean let's face it, the Chameleon Circuit doesn't work not because it's actually broken but because the TARDIS doesn't want it to work ).
@@spaceboomer564 Well somewhat true, Division didn't create the 12 regeneration limit. She was found as a baby by a women from Gallifrey and she experimented on her to create the Time Lords. Then the Time Lords put the 12 regeneration limit.

Going back to where Tom Baker said in the 50th Anniversary special. I would love to see the next incarnation to be Jo Martins Doctor to link to Tom Baker saying that you may revisit a few old faces along the way.
If Jo was announced as the 14th Doctor I'd actually be very happy. We know it won't happen especially with RTD back to usher in a new era (or save the show 😉) but as an alternative I'd love to see Jo have her own feature length special. She is so natural as the character and even when she talks out of character as herself, she just has something about her that draws you to her and makes you want to watch and listen. She's a fabulous lady and a brilliant actor.
