Mother lashes out at nanny accused of murdering 2 young children on UWS

- From emotional - to angry. Friday was day two of testimony in the case of the Upper West Side nanny charged with killing two children in her care.
After finishing two days of gut-wrenching testimony, Marina Krim again lashed out at the accused killer of her two children, shouting 'you're evil, you're evil - please get me out of here!' as she left the courtroom in a fit of anger and grief.
Yoselyn Ortega, 56, is accused of fatally stabbing and slashing 6-year-old Lulu and 2-year-old Leo inside the family's Upper West Side apartment in October 2012.

Losing a child is a whole other level of pain but when you lose 2 and you’re the one finding them murdered and the person who did it is someone you trusted to care for your children...I can’t even imagine how hard that is to deal with. I truly hope this woman is rotting in prison. Sick and twisted. Just beyond evil

Her having a nanny does not mean she wasn’t raising her kids.
She was jealous of the family bc she couldn't have that lifestyle. The kids had a better life then her so she took her rage out on them.

nah based on my google research....it was a case about a woman with severe mental health issues who was treated deplorably by the parent to the point she ended up snapping...the lesson being ..treat people with respect...

They apparently didn't have good parenting skills, to entrust this woman with their children. If you cannot raise children and make time for children, then don't have them!
Even though we know now that the parents were at times verbally abusive and treated the nanny, at times, like she was a slave. also mix with the fact that the nanny had severe untreated mental health issues. it still does not excuse this nanny's deplorable, atrocious and disgusting behavior. if I slap someone in the face is not a free ticket for them to burn my house down with my wife and kids inside..

The problem is I find it hard to believe that there were no warning signs. There are always warning signs. We just ignore our gut instincts. If anything this teaches us to be aware a closely monitor people who care for your children.

It's been awhile since this happened, I am a nanny myself, this nanny absolutely did something horrible to two innocent children, however, there were warning signs and what people don't know is there's a lot of employers who abuse their nannies, I have first hand experience, we are treated very poorly, I've never thought of anything like this, I do give myself time outs if I start feeling overwhelmed until I calm down, this person had warning signs that were ignored and two, sweet, innocent children lost their lives.
if she was just an abused nanny, she wouldn't have needed to forge her recommendation letters

I was a nanny years ago and it is true that at the very least parents can take advantage of their help. Definitely there had to be warning signs but as often can happen they were ignored or reasoned away. Terrible crime. My heart goes out to the family.

I live in a state that allows concealed carry and open carry. This monster wanted to see the mothers face when she discovered her babies murderd and she wanted to see the mothers reaction well she would of definitely found out my reaction to her actions and never again walked. crawled or breath any longer
In your state, psychopaths like that nanny are permitted to carry as well. She wouldn't have used a knife. You shooting her would not put your children's brains back in their heads. Sad but true.

I disagree she’s insane and deserves to be locked up because yes while death is sometimes justified as punishment for crimes having to suffer an extremely long time in prison (I don’t know the sentence) extends the suffering
I think that she should have just said no. The insanity defense. Does the court have a psychologist with a Ph. D that can test her? If they do not can they? It sounds like the woman was thinking. The thinking was off the rails. She did not negotiate for more money? She did not say That she just did not want to do any more than watch over the children. Why was it hard to just say, "no". Was it the money she would lose? Only your Ph. D knows.
