I’m so happy to see this post. I bought the gool 3660 3300kv for my sons senton 4x4 In March. Ive heard about people burning up the esc and having problems. The esc and motor has been going strong since then. The only problem is I go through a spur gear about once a month. Sometimes two when we go to the rc Park and hit the big jumps. And I’m fine with it since he runs it on 2 and 3S regularly. It torquey with the 17t pinion and it seems to be enough for him with bashing. I couldn’t imagine a higher tooth gear like your running. Can’t wait to see your video of running it on 3S @JayTeeRc
I run metal 17t and it's super peppy but controllable. A 27t might be overkill and overheat issues. Bashing at 20 vs 30 was old just break stuff faster lol.
Hi, Thanks for the video. I bought in in 6-2018, currently it has the 5th motor as it burnet out 4 motors just because I drove it only on the beach sand. I don't recommend a brushed motor on sand at all! Thanks
how do i fix my arrma senton mega 550 it drives really fast in reverse but super slow in forward i think that the driving is reversed as the truck should go fast while going forward and slow while going in reverse please help btw tell me the parts i would need to buy if i upgraded to a brushless motor thanks
Im thinking about picking one up because i saw that sale they are having. And im a truck nut also you know me Jay love me some of that new rc smell . Was waiting to see what upgrades they were going to drop for it . Armma are pretty good bashers for the money .
Stock servo lasted 6 battery packs. Arrma should put a 15kg servo in 1/10 and 25kg in 1/8 scale then there would be no need to upgrade. I think the servo's strip quick because the servo is not suited to the application. Apparently savox are a top make but two I've have one lasted two minutes and the other I took out of my Kraton (15kg) and put it in my 1/10 scale drifter where it belongs. I went for overkill and put a 35kg in the Kraton and it's still going strong... once you figure out how to stiffen the servo saver you will have steering 🤣 Peace out 🙂👊👊👍
Only run that Esc with that motor on 2s lipo... That motor on 2s is gonna pull at least 65amps geared conservative.... DONT RUN 3S LIPO THAT 3660 3500KV MOTOR WILL PULL UP TO 92 AMPS and burn that esc up on 3s...
Is your spur gear 91 tooth cause that's what mine is and I got the Traxxas VXL system in mine it kept overheating in my/so I put it in that thing and man it will fly but the front shocks the bottom pieces keep blowing off
What pinion gear did you have? I have a vxl 3s on my senton running stock gearing 17t/91t and it does not overheat, if i run a 23t pinion will it be faster?
Hey since I see you mess with about all makes, I need a new ESC for my maxx, just killed the HK120A I had in there for 5 years, want something 6s capable now and figured Id go for a RTR esc somebody is ditching. I can get arrma BLX185 ESCs on ebay for like $60 bucks, can you think of a better alternative that might cost less? also have that same combo basically, got it in the mail yesterday but its a "racestar" but I swear the ESC looks identical.
On another note i know you have experience with the raider xl . The yeah racing aluminum rear hub carrier they offer says its for the raider ,granite ect ect but no mention of the xl ? Will it fit its only like 20 bucks and i got the brushed version awhile back after you gave your second review after your first one had issues and i have plenty extra brushless systems so i juiced it up with a castle speed control and the 4600 kv gear shop 4 pole i believe its 4600 i have all 4 of them lol but those cheap ass plastic hubs suck and i can get longer ball joints and just add a nut to keep them from tearing out but i like aluminum and the red is a hot color lol also you know of a cvd that would work instead of the stock dog bones ? Bro, i got a gool rc that ive been using in my smt10 and i love it, the only thing i can tell with is they run a bit hotter than hugher end systems, my motor can reach temps up to 145F but thats not that bad. I about to put it in my senton i just got, how long does the stock spur last you.
How long did your spur last bro? Gool rc use smooth caned motors. The problem with the can being smooth means there's less surface area so it doesn't displace heat as efficiently as a ridge can so I've been told and it makes perfect sense. I bought one because they're so cheap it overheated within a minute 🙂👊👊👍
What’s the difference with the chassis on the brushed version vs a 6s blx besides the faster motor is there any metal parts or different gears that I would have to change.

It's a bad connection on the battery. Are you running an adapter from the battery to the ESC? Mine did it for a while and I went and bough a Traxxas Plug and Soldered it on the ESC and all was fine. The Standard E3 connectors aren't really that good. I've had far better luck with the Traxxas Connectors.
i just got 2 of these one for my boys and one for me, they look same except the battery connector. may be new model or something they are just the senton 4x4 2s max. i would like to do some upgrades to it. just not sure where to start i was thinking starting with a pinion gear i arleady have a 5200mah 50c 2s lipo. very nice truck i got my sons used for 150 no battery. then i bought mine new and got the 2s for 200. not a bad price for em. got me a spektrum s150 smart charger and man that thing charges em fast. i think it comes with a 14t would a 20t i heard max for these are 31t? but then im new to the hobby. any help would be great. i asked em today about a brushless upgrade he said i wouldn't wanna sell you that and tear that car up. id rather sell you another car the senton 3s model that's like 300... so ill go to the net. i'd like to do a brushless upgrade and then work on aluminum parts inside as they break lol but would it be cheaper buying something better or just upgrade mine little at a time? noob questions
marcogarcia id get the goolrc 3660 3800kv on 2s and 27t pinion its doing about 35mph. Just look up goolrc 3660 3800kv. It has a 5mm shaft so get a 27t pinion with 5mm bore. Its about $23. I tried the goolrc 3650 4300kv but motor temps would get a little high for my liking on 27t pinion. It would do about 40mph though.
My mate will disagree. He buys goolrc ESC's because they are cheap but it's false economy. He's burnt out 4 goolrc ESC's in the time I've been running the hobbywing max10, all he's ESC's have caught fire, ALL of them and my max10 is still as good as new. Had to replace a fan on it but that's pennies. Another reason why ESC's catch fire could be because the wires aren't held secure, power wires mainly. If your batteries are constantly coming unplugged, if the power wires aren't secured to something they will be tugging on the esc causing wires to fray. Depending on your set up i.e. short wires from motor to esc could Also cause big problems to occur, you don't want wires being tugged about. Secure powers and make sure you got some play/slack in the motor to esc wires to minimize fire risk and your ESC's should last much longer. Using batteries of a C rating less than the recommended value will put extra load on the capacitors which may make them swell up and explode. 👍✌
Hmmmm....I just put this in mine yesterday. Did a brief test run on 3s. Got a little hot, not terribly so. I'm going back to the stock 14t pinion to alleviate the heat issue. I have a 18t I'd like to run, but not sure how much amps it will draw.

Looks like tower hobby has a cnc metsl crown gear and input gears. Basically all metal drivetrain. It's not avail till late jan the site says.

i got a gool rc motor and ESC combo... and the esc started to smoke. not sure if the motor still works, as i dont have another brush less esc.

6s is comport different 6s has different esc servo motor different chassie different transmitor better drive shafts better wheels etc

JT I can tell you from experience that if you run that Gool Rc ESC with 3s you will burn it up.
Gool rc product are only fit for the bin in my experience 🤣🤣👊👊👍
