    I am loving everything Arrma is doing... they need to become a household name in the next 5 years. They are changing the game and expectations for a primarily plastic vehicle.

    I have two Arrma Senton 3s BLX's - Out the box great, but found these upgrades worth it. Note make sure you go 3s lipo, it's fast fast fast....
    1.) The servo, yes the OEM servo is a weak, under stress it WILL fail. Mine failed after swapping to super "sticky" road tires. I went with the popular Annimos 25kg red version. What a difference.
    2.) The OEM shocks will start to leak - Go Big Bore ebay "specials" just seach ebay. Awesome and they don't cost a mint. (you will need shock oil. (For oil, Lower numbers softer higher number firmer.) I use 45 in front 50 in the rear.
    3.) Should be first in this list, the Transmitter and Reciever. I did not realize till I upgraded how bad it was. Lots of options but the Dumborc "kit" is night and day. Higher range, very precise, has built in gyro which has made speed runs very easy. OEM had so much play and I was constantly "trimming" even after the servo swap.
    For the cost of the Traxxas SCT I originally wanted, I bought 2 of these trucks, one for my son and one for myself. WIN!!

    Love my Senton. Went to LHS to buy a Slash and was talked into picking it up. 10 packs through with no breakage is a record for me- it's built tough!

    My friends and I purchased several LAXXAS Products, the Mash 4x4 LXV, HUSTLER 4X4 LXV, and the LANDIT LXV (which I'm converting to a Dragster). Everytime we took them old they broke. Several dvc's over and over. Several other things too. I purhased this Arrma Senton 3S 4X4 BLX, much better build, took it to the golf course and WOW, IT'S LIKE THE LIGHTS CAME ON! THIS THING IS SAVAGE, THE CONTROLLER LAGS A BIT, NO BIG, BUT WE LOVE THEM! BTW, if you want a good deal on beefed up LAXXAS'S I'm your guy, lol! Keep Bashing!

    i just picked one of these up ( orange of course!) over the black friday weekend from my LHS. i grew up in the mid 80s and had a frog and wild willie... although the senton throws nostaligia out the window it makes up for it with its speed / handling and bashing ability!

    One thing you gmhave to watch out for is when you lawn dart the truck, you WILL pop out the front alu hinge brace. I put some hot glue under the lot and put it the hinge brace whilenit was still hot, seems to hold it in so far.

    Good video 👍 ... Tip for you. Slot the chassis for the spur gear. Sand and debris will get in there, and without the slot, will chew your spur and pinion in no time. The slot allows all that stuff an escape path. It works wonderfully.

    Nice review. Thanks.
    Because I mostly run on grass the Arrma Granite 3S is for me a better choice. Started in the hobby a year and a half ago with the brushed Granite 4x4 Mega. Liked it enough except for continually having to replace the motor. Recently did a mild brushless update to the Mega and now have a more reliable and slightly better performing MT. From my experience I would suggest skipping the brushed Granite 4x4s (save a few more bucks) and go for the brushless Granite models.
    Ps. Not thrilled with the Granite plastic shocks due to them doing a lot of leaking. No servo issues so far.

    I had that problem with an Ace servo as well,you just sometimes get a lemon.

    • @CCxRC
      @CCxRC  5 років тому +1

      Yep. But The stock servos have typically been lesser quality in order to keep the RTR costs down, so I get it. It's not a complaint, as I expect to have to replace it at some point.

    • @semperatis

      The same alas is true even with the high end gear.

    • @CCxRC
      @CCxRC  5 років тому

      Yeah, there is always a chance to get a lemon. I do find that it happens less often with the higher end gear because they have better quality parts which lessen the chances. But you are right, it does happen. Honestly, I can't sit here and think of aftermarket parts that I've spent money on to upgrade my RTRs that have failed.

      Surprisingly, I had an easier time running my Granite at full speed on cement then this. The wider wheelbase probably helped. This stands up and then the tires lose their traction and it starts to spin and slide. So I never got it up to full speed on Cement. In the grass it handles really well, so I want to test the top speed in short grass where it keeps traction better. That or I need to try to shorten up the shocks or something so it doesn’t “stand up” so much. So it doesn’t have an LCG. It’s a seriously awesome basher

    I use xt 90's across the board so when I get a new Armma I switch the connectors immediately...who needs a warranty?!

    Why not call Arrma about that servo? The thing has a 2 year warranty. May as well have them send you a replacement so you have another spare.

    The only thing that keeps me from buying one of these is the suspension travel seems short. I've seen videos of these driving off road and they basically look like a buggy trying to go over rough terrain.

      They don't have a solid rear axle with trailing arms in the rear like the trophy trucks do. These are just built to be durable.

      @@CCxRC I was comparing it to my Slash 4x4. The suspension soaks up bumps pretty well. But these trucks just seem to have buggy suspension.

      Not sure what you mean by buggy suspension. These are setup a lot like a 1/8 buggy as is the Slash, except that the front shocks are usually a little longer with a taller shock tower. The setup in the Senton is simliar to a slash. In fact, I replaced one of my senton trucks front shocks after my son broke one with a set of Atomik shocks for the slash. It would really come down to tuning of the shocks. But they run arms like a buggy. But the Senton shock lengths are close to a Slash. Also depends where you want to run them. I have a slash fox 4x4 VXL with LCG chassis and I choose my Senton over it for my backyard because it has more ground clearance and runs better in grass.

      @@CCxRC Well With my Slash I replaced he rear springs with the softer green springs Traxxas offers. But even before that the truck seemed to do fairly well off road. The videos I've seen of this truck however make it seem its all over the place. Maybe it has to do with the chassis bottoming out? My Slash is the HCG version so maybe that could be why.

      It could also be that the oil had leaked out of their shocks and there was no dampening. these are notorious for leaking shock oil.
