Big tires look pretty sweet. And given the 3S line shares so many parts being the same platform, just makes sense to go with Granite tires as they're already 17 hex. I'll remember this. Nice work. Got a monster truck & SCT all in one.
I just installed some 1/8 scale buggy tires on 10mm offset/extender 17mm hexs. I wanted the slightly larger tires and more width for stability. I haven't ran it yet, as its night time, right now. After watching some videos of larger tires on the Senton, I'm thinking I will try that next. Looks so damn good with the bigger tires!
Fivo Nine Hiya, Just a thought, been looking at upgrading the entire steering system ? As you are more than aware, the current plastic linkage system has many issues. Struggling to find a good Aluminum replacement ? Have you done a video ? Many thanks, take care. Len
@@leonardwheeler4789 No I haven't done it yet, after the servo failed the first time I just changed the servo and kept the plastic servo saver and so far had no issues, if it fails then I might go to aluminum 😊
The set up you have isn’t common. But it’s actually a pretty sick set up. Because it’s the Senton, you get a bigger fuller body which makes it look almost as big as the Kraton but weighs way way less and rips! I had the granite, ran my suspension to were it would sit way lower to the ground. Almost negative, but setting it up like this give you way better handling. The Senton and Granite are so much lighter than the other Arrma trucks and have that zippy characteristic. Your Senton has a sick set up man. I favor the 1/10 scale because of how it performs overall compared to these newer bigger heavy Arrma’s out there.
Im trying to decide on a V5 Kraton or Typhon in 6s. Your 3s Senton looks pretty quick though. Im worried the Typhon may not handle the thicker grass I have around me. The Kraton will kill it no problem but wont handle as nice on the pavement. I have the same type of lush grass you drive on in this video. I only steered away from the Senton because they dont offer a new 6s right now. Maybe the Typhon with a tire upgrade like you did would be the best of both worlds
@@FortekNine since buying the Senton my Kraton 6s has been gathering dust 🤣 there's always issues with the Kraton everytime I take it out without fail. I know I'm late to this, but are there any bodies you can swap out instead of cutting the stock one? I'm thinking two bodies basically you get two cars. Senton and monster senton
Yes and no 😊 If you do it, it will be easier on your esc and motor. With 20t it's fine if your not on full throttle for more then couple seconds, then the esc cuts out.
Hows it going I bought my 1st rc truck and I messed up one of the tires AMD now I'm having a hard time find tires for the senton 3s . What other tires can u reccomend for me to use
With the big tires you can get the arrma granite tires, with the stock size tires I found some cheap and fairly good tires on amazon, currently running the GoolRC tires. Proline also has some good tires.
You can do it but would need some work. The stock hex is 14mm so you would need to convert it to 17mm. The tires I had were 130mm and it needed some body trim so with 170mm you would need to trim the body even more 😁 and with bigger tires you would need to change the gearing also
Havent tried it but was planning to do it too since with the bigger tires and going full speed the truck would go airbourne from catching air inside the shell. The slits i assume would help the truck stay on the ground and maybe help cornering at high speeds.
@@FortekNine thanks for the information I'm just waiting for FedEx to deliver it I can't wait! Going to thread lock all screws and cut the aero out, then go for the first test drive so excited!
Nice video bro.. I have the arrma Big rock and it's also on a 15t pinion.. Is there a specific reason why you took out the 20t pinion and ran a 15t instead? Did you lose speed when you did this?
That was to keep the gear ration the same, the speed should be around the same. You can keep the 20t and it would gain top speed but off the line it might be hard on the speed control.
