I ran on to you about three months ago. I also LOVE watching you & learning! Your voice is very calming 😌 & makes me calm. Very theraputic!! I am 62. I have never made bread before, but I'm going to start this week!! I'm recently a widow. My husband passed away quickly on Oct. 6th, 2022. I know he is in Heaven, but man I sure miss him!! My heart is broken. 😥😢😭💔 Thank you again Miss Lori! God bless you! I love you!! 🤗❤🙏🙏
☀️"I absolutely love to bake bread and watching you and listening to you do it is so soothing- you make it so comfortable and natural. I am so happy to have found you!"😌💜
I just love watching your videos. You can also put some of your dough into a plastic container that is 4 times bigger than your your dough and put it in your refrigerator with a cover on it. It slow rises in the fridge and will keep well for about 4 or 5 days. You can pinch off some dough to make pizza. It gives a different taste and texture like a pizzeria. I used to do this when my kids were small. You just take it out and let it rest for an hour before you roll it out. I will keep watching for your great tips. 😊
Lori, I love your videos so much. I also love making bread and cooking in general. I'm now 73 but I started when I was 14 years old making 7 loaves of bread every Saturday morning for our large family. I've had a love affair with it ever since. Watching your videos is so fun and I always learn something new or get a new twist on something old. Thank you.
Every vidio you make or have made even several years ago, are such a blessing to watch! Takes me back to when I was young. My mother made bread in a similar pan, bigger though, she made 50 pounds of flour at a time. Never had to freeze any as there was fifteen of us. Coming home from school to the smell of fresh baked bread, eaten hot with butter and jam!!!! She passed away 30 years ago would be 110 now. You make my heart smile with the memories!! ❤ shirley in western montana.
I liked the start of the video when you started to just move your hand around in the flour. You're appreciating the texture. Because you love what you're doing. They also sell kiddie pools at Dollar General, don't go that route.... that is too much dough. 😉 With regard to research recipes, Etc... Don't allow destination disease. Always keep learning something it keeps you vital
You are such a Inspiration. So many people are missing a slower pace of life. Too much rushing and hurrying. Slow down people if you can and enjoy each day.
Thank you Ms. Lori for showing me how to make bread! My Grandma and 2 Aunts made bread on the 1st Saturday of the month - it was just so good! One year I got a bread making machine but it's just not the same. I'm heading back to the store for flour now, I'm learning what to keep in my pantry because you taught me 😊💕
My Grandma baked a large batch of bread in a huge mixing bowl, every week. She would give me a small piece of dough to knead and put in a small tart pan to bake. She did the same with my children. Such wonderful memories... No guest ever left her house without a loaf of bread to take with them. Watching you make bread brings back those memories. Thank you.
I just finished watching this big batch bread video for about the third time as l have all of your videos. My kids and grandkids come in sometimes and say good grief Grandma is that all you do is watch the same videos over and over! But yes l do some of them l’ve probably watched 10 to 15 times clear back to your beginning videos. I’m a lunch lady also…but a retired one for almost 2 years. I just want to say l love watching your videos and even sometimes just listening when lm busy. I’m so inspired and touched by whatever you’re doing and l just want to encourage you as you always encourage all of us to know that God loves you and is proud of you as His daughter for being about His business in this life. Thank you for all the hard work and inspiring words and spirit you so graciously give❤️
When you were making your dressing, I remember my mom cutting up the gizzard, heart and liver into her dressing. The onions and celery were finely chopped , one egg, sage and salt and pepper, pulled together with chicken broth and stuffed into the chicken or turkey. Unbelievably delicious. Mom always bought day old bread. ❤️👍🤗
Just amazing! I so enjoyed every second of you sharing how to make homemade bread Sweet Lori! God Bless You! I am so relaxed listening to your loving voice! Thank you for Blessing Me!
Hi Lori, This was wonderful!! I had a chore to take care of...filing!!...and you kept me company!! It was so nice having you...and your soothing voice...here in my home!! Loved watching how you make bread...and all the tips you shared about packaging the hot rolls, and pizza dough...were wonderful!! Love seeing the quick pic of you and Vickie at the end!! Thanks again for all you share!! Love, Mary ❤️😘❤️
This looks soooo DELICIOUS, Miss Laurie. It reminds Me of when I was a little girl and I would be next to Our Mom as She made Our bread. I am the sixth Child out of six and We needed and went through a lot of bread each week. Thank You for sharing Your talents with Us again, Miss Laurie. I am very Grateful to have had those experiences with My Mom. She was 45 when She had Me. I loved All of the things that She could and did with Me so I would learn them. Again, Thank You, Miss Laurie. You are SOOOO WONDERFUL! GOD BLESS YOU AND MR. BROWN. ✝️🙏🏽😊❤️💕👍🏼👋🏼
I used to make 5 lbs of bread at a time when I was 13 years old. Mom and Dad would ask me if I wanted to stay home from school and bake bread and I always said, 'ok'. I was a straight A student and made the honor roll every time so it was ok for me to miss every once in a while. I treasure those days when my parents were alive. I used a whole 5 lbs of flour, cake yeast, lard, sugar and water. Dad always made bean soup on that day. I didn't like bean soup as a teen so I just ate my bread along with the rest of my siblings. This video was a joy to watch. Blessings to everyone.
I am sooo HAPPY that you made more then two loads of bread. I was looking for a recipe that made more! I remember coming home from school and my mom had the whole kitchen table FULL OF BEAUTIFULLY MADE BREAD! She timed it so we could have butter on the warm slices of her tasty bread. I loved it! Thank you once again for your GREAT VIDEO! 👍❤️😊. I’m for sure going to try your recipe! 👍
Hello from eastern Arizona. The large tub you are using to make your bread in looks just like the baby bath tub my Mom had in the 1940's. It was mine! She used it for lots of things! Thank you for bringing back that memory! 💜💜💜🎵🙏✝️
Really enjoy your videos, very soothing, found myself smiling thru the entire bread making process. Takes me back to a quieter, simpler, peaceful time many many years ago when I was a kid back in WV. Bless you for all you do. Happy to have found you - cheers !
There's noting better than fresh hot bread with soft butter! I love making bread. Your dough looks really nice and easy to work with. Thank you for the great video's you always put up.
You are so soothing to listen to, I put my iPad on my pillow and let it run on auto and listen to you for hours til I I fall asleep, I made your keish? OMG it was the best I ate half my 81 year old mother said it was delicious, THANK YOU LORI and Mr Brown 😊
Love this video! I love making homemade bread and rolls. I also knead mine by hand, so relaxing. Thank you for the tip on when you add your salt, I will try that next time. Doesn't matter how long your videos are, I'll always watch till the end.
Thank You for all your efforts, in showing the baby boomers what is needed, and how it's accomplished! I've watched many of your videos, and will continue to do so, to learn how you make the delicious dreams of time passing, a reality for all to enjoy! God Bless and Thank You again!
Your absolutely right about researching, anything and everything. I’ve always done it 2. My friend and I were discussing that today. Thank goodness for google. Love yeasty homemade breads! 👍🏻
I love watching you pinch rolls, I’ve never seen this done before or heard of it! Your family are so lucky to have you teach them how to cook. Bless you😀💕
I just found your videos this week and have enjoyed watching you. I bake bread for Sunday dinners alot and always bake an extra for my son to take home. I also make bread for gifts. I'm going to try your hot roll idea. Thanks for sharing 😊
Love watching your videos of both you and Mr. Brown , and yes sometimes we all need time to ourselves to catch up on things we love to or need to do ain't nothing wrong with that. I've learned something today from you on how to make bread.
Your recipe sounds alot like my moms, she made 10 loaves a week. She would make small batches for rolls as needed or cinnamon rolls. There was 8 of us kids, however 2 of those siblings came after I was married with babies of my own, lol. She taught me to make bread when I was 9, I love making it. There is nothing that smells more like the safety and comfort of home than the aroma of baking bread.
Oh my goodness it looks wonderful I'm going to try and make it oh boy now how about your vegetable soup recipe I might need that too thank you very much for the video you have a good day
I stumbled upon your video's and they are great! I too love making bread and would watch my mother make bread, rolls, cinnamon rolls etc. growing up. I just cooked off 2 loaves as I hate wasting gas for just 1 loaf! Now I've got a large enamel pan out in the garage and you have shown me to go even bigger! Whoo-hoo,that is my plan coming up! God bless you and keep em' coming...
I'm late getting in on this one-- it just popped up today, and I'm so glad. I love everything about yeast breads. Love the smell, how the dough looks and feels. I love working with it, and I love watching someone else work with it. I would happily have watched every minute of time you spent with your bread dough. If I hadn't already made bread yesterday, I'd go right out to the kitchen and make up another batch right now. Thank you for a beautiful time spent with you in your warm and comfortable kitchen.
Such a long gone art. Today's women dont do alot of bread baking! Great video, your voice is steady and pleasant and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just one little critique...could you slice into a piece, put some some butter or jam on it and take a bite, describe the texture, e g. Chewey, dense, how it should taste. Thank you.
I know. I don't even use my mixer for it because there is something so relaxing for me about kneading the dough. I know that sounds weird but it is. I have arthritis to. Go figure........oh Also....Agree about BUTTERING, JAMMING AND EATING THE BREAD!!! God bless........😂❤️
My goodness,it should taste like bread and be the same as a loaf of white bread u buy, dont be so nit picky shes putting the loaves away in the freezer, just enjoy her video theres no critiquing neaded here, she knows what shes doing !!!
Yes, I've been hearing a lot lately how bread making is a lost art. Once I got the hang of how the dough should look and feel, I will never go back to using my bread machine to make dough.
@@cathypeterson3545 I am so interested in bread making ,I got a Kitchen Aid stand mixer in May And Ive done a lot of cakes in it ,and the first batch of yeast rolls didnt turn out right, the 2nd time I tried it it was amazing just like Texas Roadhouse .There is something relaxing about bread making. But you are right, you have to know how the dough is suppose to feel what stage its in, and things like that, I am a newby at this lol
Oh Ms Lori, I know I’m going to prepare this recipe and store up some breads to eat and share. Thank you for this wonderful video. Just love sharing time with you. God’s blessings on all you do.
I love your videos! I used to sit and watch my mamma bake all day and it is so refreshing to watch you bake too! Thank you for everything you're sharing.
Wow! That's a lotta work! I used to bake 5 loaves of whole wheat loaves, but I don't do that anymore. I just make a couple of loaves at a time as there are just two of use left at home now. I use my kitchenaid mixer now to make and knead the dough. I did learn a lot about big batch bread making and also putting sugar in the yeast water and the salt last. I like what you are doing for the church people who are ill and helping them during holidays. That act warmed my heart. I love your videos. Thanks for making them. My grandmother and I made sweet bread dough to make cinnamon rolls and cardimen bread. Cardimen bread is a Finnish bread made into a braid loaf. In Finnish they call it Pulla bread. You can google it. You will love it I am very sure. The Pulla loaves make wonderful holiday gifts.
I love watching people making bread. It makes me feel good. Watching you was a pleasure. I love listening to your sweet voice. Thank you for sharing how you make your own bread.
Those rolls are awesome. I also worked in our school cafeteria back in the 80’s and we gave the children store bread that was delivered to the school. I live in Upstate NY maybe that is the difference. I left the cafeteria and started driving school bus for the district. Southern life is so different. We are moving to TN and I’m enjoying the life down there. I love your channel, thank you so much!
You sound like my late father’s family from Augusta, GA 😊 thank you so much for the video! I just learned how to make single loaves, this is a challenge for the near future! Thank you 😊
I just found you yesterday and have subscribed. What you do is so needed for the younger generation!!!::Thank You for sharing your expertese!!! I do have a question. At the beginning of this bread recipe, you set aside 7qts of warm water...then added the total measurement of yeast and sugar in this 7Qts of water. Then later you mentioned that you used 4qts total of the yeast water....What about the other 3 qts?? Do you just throw it out?? If that is the case, why not just use a smaller amount of water to mix the yeast in??? We live in what is known as a high desert area and have to adjust alot of recipes... Thanks for answering!!! Love your channel!!
Thank you, some days are different than others on how much water it takes, you can back off to 5 cups water, but keep everything else the same, I learned this from some older Italian lady's that made bread once a week, in big batches, xoxoxo
I really love your channel. I wasn't taught to cook or bake from my mother bc she was abusive and an alcoholic! There were 3 of us kids, me being the youngest (I'm 63 now). My mother was only abusive to me. When I got older she told me that she treated me the way she does bc I was better at school and prettier than my sister! My brother was 7 years older than myself and was always spending his time at friends houses to avoid the rather of our mother and as soon as he graduated from high school he enlisted into the Navy. I knew then that it would only get worse for me, so that is why she never taught me how to cook. She did have me doing housework as soon as I was old enough. I became a perfectionist bc if I didn't do things the way she wanted it then she would make me do it all over again. One of my aunts took me under her wing and tried to teach me what I needed to know. That came to an end as soon as my mother noticed her giving me attention. I'm just trying to give you an idea of why, at the age of 63, that I'm not an accomplished cook. I have forgiven her though. She has been gone since 2003. My whole family is gone now. I'm the only one left other than my son. I'm who I am bc of all my experiences and how I was raised. I had to rise above all of it and raise my children the way I always wanted to be raised, with a mother that loves unconditionally and is supportive no matter what they do. They had discipline but only the right way! Now they are productive members in their community and both have professional jobs. My son is in the oil business and a volunteer Firefighter and my daughter is a gemologist with a famous jewelry company. We are very proud of them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of cooking and baking with everyone. You have touched my life and I thank you for helping me learn how to finally cook! God bless you and I will keep you and Mr. Brown in my prayers! Blessings, Scooter of Cedar Canyon Farm, Orlando, Oklahoma.❤🛵🏡🚜😉🥰
It is so refreshing to find people like you all. You're a real blessing to us. I thoroughly enjoy your channel. God bless you and your husband and your family
I’ve watched this video several times. I wanted to watch to relax. But I saw a washtub on Etsy and just had to have it. Today is a rainy day here in north Alabama, I have the house to myself. I’ve been canning in the basement for days and decide to stay upstairs and bake a big batch of bread. I only have 5 pounds of flour but it will be enough to give this recipe a go.
I just made my FIRST from scratch bread. I pulled you up on my 55" TV and followed you step by step. My bread turned out ok. We just laughed at the shape of it, but it was delicious anyway. I learned everything about baking and cooking from my little Arkansas mom. We lost her two years ago. I still wrap from time to time. You've made my life a little better everytime I turn your videos on. Thanks you Miss Laurie. I just love you:). May God continue to bless you in Jesus Name.
My grandmother had 5 boys and made 10 loaves of bread every other day. So many stories. She also made homemade noodles which she cooked with chuck roast and boy there was never anything sooooooo good. Wonderful video and ideas. Keep up the good work.
I love making bread. It seems to feed the soul. The feel of the dough, the smell of it baking and the satisfaction of feeding the ones we love. Thank you for the video.
Oh what beautiful bread! You've inspired me to bake! I love to bake, but living in an RV can only bake a loaf at a time because of the tiny ovens in them. Doing hot rolls and pizza dough makes great use of the dough and your time. Thanks fir the great idea!!
Your sweet loving Spirit sure comes through. Thank you. Blessings.
I ran on to you about three months ago. I also LOVE watching you & learning! Your voice is very calming 😌 & makes me calm. Very theraputic!! I am 62. I have never made bread before, but I'm going to start this week!!

I just cooked off 2 loaves as I hate wasting gas for just 1 loaf! Now I've got a large enamel pan out in the garage and you have shown me to go even bigger! Whoo-hoo,that is my plan coming up! God bless you and keep em' coming...
Thanks for sharing I think I will start freezing my 🍞 love it
I'm late getting in on this one-- it just popped up today, and I'm so glad.
Thank you.
Makes one wonder what the memories of home life and youth will be from the current generation of parents. 🧐
Perfect timing for this video! I love making bread.
now THAT"S A BOWL :D
I love your videos! I used to sit and watch my mamma bake all day and it is so refreshing to watch you bake too! Thank you for everything you're sharing.
You make everything look so easy. That was fun and therapeutic. Thank you. And, it was not too long.
You are so welcome!
Sounds beautiful, I make Finnish bread, it's a beautiful bread! Xoxoxo
Thank you Patti, hope you love the south as much as I do!! Xoxoxo
I love you videos, your voice is soothing. Thank you so much.
You are just precious, watching you is so refreshing.l want to make some cinnamon/raisin bread!!!
Me too!! Love cinnamon bread. 😁❤️🇨🇦
I enjoy watching you learning a lot god bless you and Mr Brown .
Thank You so much for your answer!!!
@@WhippoorwillHoller Is it cut back to 5 quarts or 5 cups? I cannot wait to try your recipes, thank you for your videos.
@@charlottecooke6825 5 qts. Xoxoxo
Wow, you are so lucky to have that enormous enamel bowl for your dough! Wow
I really enjoyed this video!! That’s a great thing to make a big batch like that and it saves you a lot of time in the long run.
I enjoy all your Videos, Thank You and may God Bless You.
You're story brought tears to my eyes and memories of how my step-mother treated me the same.
Your story could be my story, God bless you...
Thank you for sharing your life with us❤️ I enjoy learning from you.

Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing your passion and talent.
Hey, if it taste good, we don't care what it looks like, lol
I used to makes bread and it was so satisfying and delicious. You are one industrious woman!!
My grandmother had 5 boys and made 10 loaves of bread every other day. So many stories. She also made homemade noodles which she cooked with chuck roast and boy there was never anything sooooooo good. Wonderful video and ideas. Keep up the good work.
Your grandmother was a lady of many life Skills, Love our grannies! Xoxoxo
Looking at you cooking is pure meditation! Love it! 🎄💋
I love making bread. It seems to feed the soul. The feel of the dough, the smell of it baking and the satisfaction of feeding the ones we love. Thank you for the video.
It's a beautiful life skill, xoxoxo
Oh what beautiful bread! You've inspired me to bake! I love to bake, but living in an RV can only bake a loaf at a time because of the tiny ovens in them. Doing hot rolls and pizza dough makes great use of the dough and your time. Thanks fir the great idea!!
I appreciate that you showed making the bread all by hand, not using a mixer and dough hook!
In winter I would put my dough in the oven with the light on. Worked like a charm.
