Quick Spoon Rolls
4 cups self rising flour
1/4 t. Salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 t. active dry yeast
1 egg
2 cups warm water 98 to 110 degrees
6 T
melted salted butter or unsalted
350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes
cover, refrigerate overnight

Awesome! Thank you for this recipe! My family LOVES yeasty rolls, but our favorite recipe takes 2 rises and a whole lot of kneading. I never make them for large family gatherings. It's just too much work. I can't WAIT to surprise my loved ones at our next gathering! (I treat everyone in our family to yeasty rolls individually. When I make them I take turns who I share them with). Just wish my Mother was here. She passed on in July. She passed down her Great Grandma's roll recipe to me. She is a Great Great Grandma and since she passed on there's two more on the way. She would have been SO happy if I brought a big ole batch of these wonderful rolls to a family gathering. Just the thought of it makes me smile. Yeast rolls were/are a family tradition. I've been teaching my niece, so she can carry on the tradition. I'll teach her this recipe too! I'm sure she'll like this recipe better. She doesn't like all that rising and kneading. lol Thanks for reading this. It's a difficult time losing your Momma. This recipe reminds me of her. Not a day goes by without missing her.

We had an old family friend that made this dough and deep fried spoon fulls. She called it basque. Delicious!

God bless you! This is my mother-in -law's recipe, which I've been hunting for since she died in 1995! Gonna get a fresh bag of self rising flour and whip up a batch. Sons say they don''t remember these, but they will when they taste them! Pity my husband is gone, as he'd eat every darn one that he could get his hands on! Thank you for bringing back some wonderful memories! She used to use bacon drippings in them, but I'm sure just plain butter will work find.

Just in case anyone is wondering these are fantastic! I came back to this video yesterday evening looking for a quick roll to make with our supper. I baked half of them in a mini muffin tin as soon as I whisked the batter together, and my son declared them his favorite muffin roll. I put the other half of the dough in the fridge like her recipe says to do and baked them today and they were even better than last nights rolls. Just try them! They are similar to an old recipe I have for what people call angel biscuits.

I told them I would try my best but with my hands do bad with Neuropathy, I can't hardly hold a fork! I think they would love these Hot Rolls. I'll try my best to make my family some Homemade Hand Rolled Biscuits the only way I've ever made them but I'm gonna make these for sure! These rolls are awesome! We have a local diner that serves chicken on a biscuit every Thursday. For years I’ve tried to figure out how they made their biscuits!! This is it! So easy and convenient. We didn't have hot rolls, but every holiday she would bring decorated cupcakes and fruit breads. YumO🎉. We were very lucky❤❤!

Oh Miss Lorie at the age of 72, yeast anything intimidates me, like is the water too warm, what if I kill the yeast, but after seeing your video I'm determined to put these yeast rolls on the table this year instead of Mrs Sch**** frozen hot rolls we have every year.
