Hi Lori, well it was hotter than blue blazes the other day, but I needed some bread. I've been watching you and trying your recipes and making bread in the oven. So far everything has turned out wonderful with your help and encouragement. So since it was so hot I just couldn't bring myself to turn on the oven. I turned to your channel and there you were making bread in a bread machine and claiming no guilt in doing so. I went to my basement and brought out my old Welbilt bread machine and made your basic white bread. Again, it turned out wonderful!! Thank you so much for showing how to make your recipe while using a bread machine. When the weather gets cold again in the fall, I'm sure I will go back to making bread the old fashion way, but for the next couple of months it will be by the bread machine. Again, thanks for all you do for us novices and God bless you and Mr. Brown

I am on my 4th bread machine ( I wore them out) My wrists don’t work so well for kneading the dough so I use the dough cycle. When the dough is done rising in 1 hour 30 minutes. I form the dough into whatever I want. Usually buns or cinnamon rolls etc. and let it rise one last time while the oven is heating up. You are so right, there is nothing like the aroma of bread baking! ❤

Humorous tale from days gone by. Mommas bread machine was going, and she was making a dbl loaf recipe by hand. There were family coming and they wanted her bread.
One of her grandbabies was enthralled with the sound of the machine.
No one noticed the machine stopped working.
Low and behold that same little fellow had unplugged the machine. 😂

Hello down there in Arkansas ... from up here in Colorado. I have bread baking as you’re speaking to me in this video. It’s a thunderstorm kind of afternoon here and the aroma of the baking bread and the fragrance of the rain on the land and the grasses out here on the prairie makes for an incredible blend of smells swirling through the house. Thank you once again for a wonderful program. And thank you for this gift of yourself and your heart that you offer to all of us. May you and this whole wonderful community have a lovely holiday weekend.

I love my bread machine too! Years ago, I switched from the canister type to the bread pan type. Yes, it is indeed a game changer! I make several loaves at once and put them in the freezer and can make 5-6 medium-size loaves for just a few cents more than the cost of one store bought loaf. A heck of a lot better tasting and healthier too! Real bread!!!

Beautiful loaf from the bread machine. I didn't know you could get a regular-looking loaf from a bread machine...I thought they always come out with the top crust on the end. Yay! And watching your hands as you quickly pinched your handmade loaf, I could imagine how many thousands of times you have done that for your family...and the students ❤...your hands reveal the deep love you have within you. ❤❤

Ms. Lori ....thank you for sharing some of your bread recipes. They look delicious. I learned the cooking ways from my step-mama as a girl and I love homemade bread and still always make my own bread even though I am a senior widow (82yrs) who also has arthritis pretty bad. I do have a kitchen aid, and a bread-maker machine, but I prefer the old fashioned make by hand way of doing it most of the time. I usually do 4 loaves and freeze the extra's, taking 1 loaf out at a time. Love your videos. (I live on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada & have followed you for a long time)

I LOVE my bread machine! Thank you Miss Lori, for taking my guilt away by saying "home-made" bread, even in a bread machine, is still "home-made"! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and can't do all the kneading bread takes so my bread machine is a great help to me. I was fortunate to be able to retire a little early at the end of 2021 so I have time to do the things that I enjoy and are important to me like baking, crafting, and tending to my vegetable garden. I also love your videos on making desserts for two. Mr. Man loves his desserts and like you and Mr. Brown, it's usually just the two of us so a whole cake, cobbler, or whatever is too much. I can vaccum pack and freeze but it's not the same as fresh. So yours is a simple solution to the problem! Thank you and as always, I send you and Mr. Brown much love and many blessings!😊❤

Thank you for reminding us that it's a tool, not a sign of weakness, to use it for homemade breads! I've started grinding my own wheat and grains, and have been wanting to make a loaf but wasn't stopping to do it. Now I will! Thanks for your recipe, and I look forward to any you wish to share. I hope you and Mr Brown have a good Memorial Day weekend. Thanks!

Hey for those who have difficulty kneading bread, last night 06/04/23 on my PBS station they had a cooking show called Milk Street. One of the recipes was for a focaccia bread. It was a very wet dough ,with lots of yeast, and they didn’t knead it. It was allowed to rise in the bowl covered with plastic for 5 hours. It rose and fell and rose again in the bowl. Then they poured it into a very oily pan. The end result was a bread with a very crispy bottom and soft chewy top and the crumb was very bubbly. They placed green olives and cherry tomatoes on top but you can make it plain or whatever way you like ❤

Hello it’s Friday,June 5,2023. Funny story… last week I was attempting a rustic bread recipe. A quick yeasty bread that’s no knead and you can let it rise anywhere from 30 minutes to overnight. Well I had just mixed it and was washing up the utensils when my neighbor called with an emergency. Of course I rushed next door with soapy hands to help 🧽🫧. Well a couple of hours later when I came back home it was like that episode of I Love Lucy where she and Ethel made bread. 🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞This dough had risen past the bowl, across the table and into the chair and was reaching for the floor like The Blob. I caught it in my hands and scooped and scraped everything up as best I could into my cast iron skillet. 😂😂😂😂That was the tastiest bread I’ve had in a long while. 😊

I always have enjoyed making bread.. not so much anymore being 74 and my arthritis is boss more days than I an anymore.. But I’m starting to teach my teenage grandkids the pleasure of making and then smelling that oh so inviting smell of that bread baking..
The eldest grandson makes the fluffiest biscuits so I know he and his biscuits will one day capture a sweet girls heart. Haha.. He is 14 right now.. The twins are 13.. the grandson spend most of his time with me and gpa so he is quite the experienced Chef.. one of his favorite recipes are the Lunch Lady’s Peanut Butter Cookies.. And he makes a Wakky Cake with his own Caramel Pecan Frosting.

I love my bread machine & use it a lot. I make whole wheat bread & Hawaiian bread. It really saves time for me even though we are retired. I found that if I take the paddles out of the bottom of the machine just before the rising cycle (just lift up the dough to get to the bottom paddles) you are left with smaller holes in the bottom of the bread & it's easier to get the bread out when it's done. Your two breads look fantastic. Hugs!

Good morning Miss Lori and Mr. Brown! I enjoy your channel so much and especially the tips you share and Mr. Browns taste ratings.
I can’t figure out how to message you privately but I wanted to share a tip I learned on another channel for storing flour. I have a mill but also buy flour to have on hand for convenience. What I do is buy paper lunch bags and put about 4-6 cups of flour in it and then fold it down and tape it shut. Then I vacuum seal each bag and store them all in a 5 gallon bucket. This method keeps flour dust from getting in the sealer and also keeps the flour from going rancid and keeps bugs out. I write on the bag how many cups are in each bag so i know when I need it how much bread etc I can make with it. I did the same with my grains. Vacuum seal a few cups and store. You can also buy those ziplocks for the food saver and they work great for just using some grains if you don’t need the whole bag.
God bless you both and thank you again for sharing your lives with us!!!

I just dug my old Sunbeam bread machine out of the basement…where it’s been in hiding for probably 20 years. I cleaned it up and it works. I’m excited to try a loaf of bread when I buy my ingredients. Store bought bread just has no taste anymore. Thanks for sharing.

Lunch Lady rolls! When I was in school, many, many years ago, we could buy an extra roll for a nickel! I just ate the rolls, dunked in whatever gravy was being served, usually Turkey!

I would LOVE to see lots more bread machine videos from you Ms Lori!! I just bought my very first ever bread machine and don't even know how to use it yet but I have always wanted a bread machine. I finally broke down and purchased one a couple weeks ago and have been wanting a few good recipes for it. Of course I want the very 1st loaf to be some good ol white sandwich bread so I'm going to use your bread machine recipe for it here. So many thanks for doing this video for it!! I have the stuff I need in my Walmart cart online already!! Lol! We love cinnamon bread, dinner rolls, cinnamon raisin bread, bagels, pretzels or pretzel bread, sweet rolls, french bread, chocolate chip muffins or chocolate chip bread, honey bread, wheat bread, onion bread, artisan bread, apple pie cinnamon rolls or bread, jams, pizza dough or pizza crusts, donuts (yum), parmesan garlic bread or garlic bread, sourdough bread, cheesy bread, homemade hamburger buns, lemon bread or lemon pull apart bread, and so much more. The list could go on and on! You use to be able to buy the bread machine mixes at Walmart but we looked the other day and couldn't find them. I think having your own recipe for each bread or jam or whatever your making in the bread machine would be best anyway so it was probably a good thing they don't sell it anymore. Lol! It's probably better this way anyway. So I'm going to check out your other breed machine recipes and look forward to seeing many more delicious bread machine recipes such as the ones I've listed above in your upcoming videos! Lots of love and prayers headed your way! Ms Lori u hope you & Mr Brown stay safe and blessed!

😁 Lori! I got my bread machine yesterday and made this recipe of yours! It turned out SO perfectly! 👍🏻👏 This is a great machine ! 🙂 Thank you for recommending it! Now I have to look up a good donut dough recipe to mix up in there, as Searcy does NOT have any really awesome donuts like those that are available in Hawaii 😢 You & Danny stay as cool as possible in this heat wave! May God protect you when you do have to be out in the garden. Prayin' for your pigs & chickens too. Love yas! 🤗🤗
