This video shows how to clean the drain filter trap for most front load washing machines. You need to do this when the washer is taking too long to drain, causing error codes and even can cause it to not finish the cycle. GE washer is shown in video, but same applies to Whirlpool, Kenmore, LG, Maytag, and Samsung front load washing machines!
This video shows how to Clean the Drain Filter on Front Load Washing Machines that Wont Drain Properly. Same procedure works on many different brands of washers.
Some Error or Fault Codes that indicate too long drain times
that might need drain filter cleaned out are as follows:
Whirlpool & Kenmore: F02, F21, F32, LD
Samsung: ND, SE, FA, E20, E21, E30, E31, EF1, F3, OE
Frigidaire: EF1, E20, E21, E30, E31, F3, OE
Maytag: ND
GE: E30, E31
I am here to tell you that this 100% works!!!! Just tried this today and my ge frontloader is back to running as it should. You probably saved us a couple hundred dollars...thank you for that!!!!

Fixed it...thank you so much! I could hear the water pump going and some water leaving the drain but it would never switch to spin. Once I cleaned out the filter (and man, did it need it), and ran a plastic snake even further in to free up gunk beyond the filter, started working normally again!

Thank you !!! I have a dryer on top so I am flooding my garage. At least I was able to get the filter out. I am letting my washer rest to see if it’s ok.

My filter was NASTY. cleaned it out...but washer door is still locked and will not open even after unplugging unit for 10+ minutes. Any ideas?
