I have an Lj, and wheel it often, I also find that when its time to go to the grocery store I perf the Lj over my four door pick up. With the little Lj you can whip in to any parking spot.
Great video! I had no idea so many companies had closed. I built my YJ about 15 years ago and have been out of touch with the aftermarket industry for a long time.
Rubicon Express is still there Rugged Ridge is still there. Warn is still there Smittybilt is still there Currie enterprises is still there. Clayton off road is still there just to nae a few. There are some mergers of brands but the after market is still going strong although they tried to kill off our hobby using 'C' in 2020.
Back in the day in the early 80's 32" tires were the thing, then later 33's but guys preferred narrow tires because 33'' were 12.5 inches wide and many guys thought that was too wide. 31's and 32's were 10.5 inches wide and that was what very common tire to run back in the day, and way back in 1970 Dick Cepeck had a 31 inch tire that was the thing we had those on our 55 Willy's those were great.
You definitely can’t forget about the Dick Cepek tires ! I remember everyone was running those tires with the old man emu lifts . Makes me want to build a Cj
One day I will build a Yj . Kinda starting a collection of 90s era, Jeeps 😂 . I’m right there with you I would really love to have coils on the Tj and possibly do a 5inch stretch
I have a question for you. What brand of sensors do you buy when you need one? Specifically, the IAC?From what I've found Mopar sensors aren't available.
Normally I’ll call around to a hand full of dealers to see if they have any old new stock . Most of the time I can get lucky. If not I’ll go with Napa just don’t get the cheapest one . I usually have good luck with those
@@ThrilloftheGrille yes. I am chasing an intermittant high idle, 1000-1200 rpm. Currently running a Standard brand IAC. Repaired a leaking in/ex gasket 1200 miles ago and high idle recently returned. Manifold bolts are still good and tight.
I would start with cleaning the IAC , inspect and clean throttle body and start checking for vacuum leaks . Normally I’ll spry carb clean / brake clean around vacuum lines or any suspected area while the vehicle is running and if the idle changes when you do that you have a leak and you have an idea where it’s at
Man my first TJ was the 4cyl 2.5L and I did not have any luck with it . I couldn’t talk highly of it with my experiences but I Have had others I know have good luck with it though
Bought mine new in ‘98.
It’s still my daily driver.
Wow , I have a 98 too but not my daily anymore
That’s awesome! I bought mine in 2010 it’s and 05 it had 75,000 on it at that time
I absolutely love my 100k mile JL, but I agree. The TJ is still the best Wrangler Jeep ever made.
I definitely enjoyed my Gladiator and was super hard to sell . Just never got attached to it like my Tj

I love how maneuverable they are !

Thank you 🙏. It’s definitely crazy how many companies are not around anymore

Great video!!! I agree with you 100%. I have since new 2004 Rubi and 2000 XJ best jeeps I've have. beater then my 2019 Cherokee trail hawk.
Thanks you ! Both great jeeps . I sold my 2020 gladiator for a 1999 Xj no regrets at all
Agreed, but I like the YJ interior a lot better. Coil overs will be in my future :)

Thank you 🙏 I definitely appreciate it !
Maybe ya gotta own a TJ to understand what I’m sayin-👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 subbed just for that reason 💯
Thanks man , I appreciate it !
yeah 2002 Jeep Sahara giving it 15k in upgrades beats buying a new 70k Jeep and love the classic look and feels raw and I like it raw rofl!
100% agree 👍
#5 the windshield doesn't automatically crack.
That would be a good #5 !

That’s at least where I would start
I think my 4.0 believes its a 5.9 Cummins 12v. 🤪
Completely agree 😂
LJ is better than the TJ!
Without the Tj there would be no LJ ! I definitely really love the LJ would like to find one for my wife
@@ThrilloftheGrille Haha excellent point! Touche!
😂 someone forgot the 2.5L 4 cylinder TJ.
