I thought the Conan Show version wasn't as good. Just my opinion, maybe some people like that one better.
-Makes me cry every time. I liked what you had to say, no apology necessary. Disturbed took a fabulous piece of art and turned it into a genuine masterpiece. It's an important song. There are so many ways to consider silence. The one that I think is the most important is the silence of not speaking up when wrongdoings are happening in front of us. We can't afford to keep silent any longer.

Many thanks to Simon & Garfunkel, they have a huge catalogue of work and have influenced MANY current artists.....thanks to them for writing and recording this classic first over 50 years ago, warning us to not turn our backs on the world and it's willingness to embrace "SILENCE"........they made it possible for Disturbed, Pentatonix and others to re-interpret this great piece of music......also, mad props to the video makers....so moving........

Like the hostess, I also got chills & teary eyed listening to this Disturbed version of the song. David Draiman is a trainer singer with a beautiful voice. I used to go to classical music concerts quite often during the year & depending on the music, I found myself weeping along with others. You either feel it or you don’t - I am just happy that I do.

I maybe 56 but I'm a metal head from my KISS days until today with Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Volbeat and especially Rammstein....saw them live in Atlanta 2012....best show I've ever seen. This is much better than the original.

Correction - Paul Simon never said that it was Disturbed's song now. What he actuall said was (In an email to David Draiman) “Really powerful performance on Conan the other day, first time I’d seen you do it live. Nice, Thanks.” This situation is often conflated with another false quote from Trent Reznor, regarding the Johnny Cash cover of "Hurt". People claim that Trent said "It's his song now" but what he actually said was "It sounded... weird to me, it felt very strange hearing the highly identifiable voice of Johnny Cash singing it. I certainly wasn't cringing or anything, but it felt like I was watching my girlfriend f**k somebody else." And followed that with "Wow. I just lost my girlfriend, because that song isn't mine anymore."
Bottom line, Paul Simon never said that. I'm not sure anyone knows who started the lie, but that's all it is...a lie.

I would really love for you to react to the original video of James Blunt's song "Monsters." James Blunt wrote this song for his father who at the time, was in stage 4 kidney failure with no match for a transplant. After this was released, a distant relation was tested and was a match. Get out your tissues out because it is a very emotional song, but I think that you will definitely love it.
