Iroh didn't just get the royal artifact out of nowhere. It wasn't the one that Sozin gave to Roku. It was his. Iroh's. Remember, the royal artifact is supposed to be worn by the crown prince. Iroh WAS the crown prince, but since he did not ascend to the throne, he's giving his own artifact to the next crown prince, Zuko.

After the finale episodes, “The Avatar and the Firelord” is probably my favourite of the whole show. So many revelations, the parallels between Aang & Zuko and their responsibilities, and Roku’s message to Aang were all great to watch

Fire is an element that naturally wants to spread and take over, and many Fire Nation leaders have that same characteristic.
That's why Jeong Jeong tried to teach Aang to master restraint.

the reveal that roku is zuko's other great grandfather is always so cool and i love the lore behind it (also weird to think about but in a way aang was zuko's great grandfather, or at least his spirit was... either way their destinies are so interlocked
also how roku's granddaughter (ursa) somehow ended up marrying the firelord (ozai, sozin's grandson) is so interesting
"the avatar and the firelord" is one of my favourites (along with 'zuko alone', 'the blue spirit', 'tales of ba sing se', 'the storm' and a few others) and i love how he title has multiple meanings: roku and sozin, aang and ozai, etc.

Mai and Zuko are great together. I’m sure you’re already there, but she really comes through for him and they balance each other out. Zuko is hot headed and temperamental and Mai is very chill, she grounds him !! They’re childhood friends to lovers, I think it’s really sweet.

  • @Davinaszn

to answer your question at (11:08) thats called combustion, its another sub-bending just like lighting for fire benders. its the ability to create and shoot explosions using your mind
all bendings have sub-bendings like [air has flight (without glider), and another one i wont spoil.] [earth has sand, and metal bending and another one i wont spoil] [fire has lightning and combustion] and [and water has healing and 2 others i wont spoil. the one of them we get to see in the next few episodes]

Sozin still had good and bad within him, he cares about his people, he cared about Roku. Plus that volcanic eruption would've impacted his home islands as well so he went to see if he could stop it. I don't think he went there intentionally to leave Roku to die but when he saw the opportunity he needed to further his ambition, he took it.

"The Avatar and the Firelord" is my favorite single episode (so not counting two or more parters like the finales) in the show. We kinda don't even need a Roku book bc of how well it was done. I do hate that it seems like Blindwave all those years ago were the only people to understand that Sozin's first instinct was to help his friend and he didn't switch up until he saw Roku weakened and realized the possibilities.

There is a difference in knowing how to bend the different elements and being a master in them. Aang was never a master of the other elements except for Airbending and that a a really young age. But he was still in training for the other ones. Maybe almost a master in water.

You got to see my favorite episode of the season. Best friends drifting apart because of power and fear. The real reason why Zukko was so conflicted was because of his heritage. Great-grandchild of the Avatar. His connection to Aang wasn't coincidental when Ozi banished Zukko. And Sozin being right above the last airbender the entire remainder of his life will always be the best thing in the episode in my opinion

Edit: I think you guys keep getting confused the episode where they filmed “little solider boy” that was Mako’s very last episode he did, the new voice of Iroh, Greg Baldwin started after that. So he’s spoke for Iroh since then so yes you have heard his voice before the prison scene

2 things i always wondered about when it comes to Roku’s death. Why couldn’t he just save the people and let the volcanos do their thing and erupt without interference ? He could have used his earth bending to make sure the lava flowed to the water and then left the island. My second question or thought is why didn’t the dragon try to save him ? Why didn’t he pick Roku up with his teeth and fly away ? Cause i have no doubt if it was Aang , Appa would have figured out how to pick him up and get him to safety. That being said i think it was admirable for the dragon to stay him in the end
