In interviews about Pokémon Gold and Silver Saito revealed that the Legendary trio was actually inspired by feline cats and not dogs. Specifically, Entei was based on a lion, while Raikou was influenced by a tiger. Suicune's design concept took inspiration from jungle cats such as leopards and panthers.
I'm starting to think that Terapagos has nothing to do with paradoxes. These are what we took them to be from playing the game: time traveler, or even better: ultra space traveler (hopefully gf is consistent). This would basically make Heath a charlatan. Aside from herba mysticas and whatnot, he didn't really see any Great Tusk or Walking Wake in AZ, he basically made them up from memory after having that dreaming experience with Terapagos or the hidden treasure. While aware of doing something fraudulent in reporting their existence he was so confident what he dreamt was real (maybe Sada/Turo after going back in time instructed him, after all at the end they just say they will go to the place they had always dreamt about, which technically should be the AZ of the book and not just the distant past/future) . All this obviously had the effect of inspiring Sada/Turo in doing what they did, 'scouting the ultra space' in search of them. Consequence: I don't think we'll get more paradoxes in the DLC. Anyway tera energy is very important and truly powerful: it powered the time machine and it's responsible for the tera phenomenon, but I don't see Terapagos being the source of all this. While it will most definitely get a tera form, I think it is rather an exploiter of this energy itself, which originates from the real hidden treasure of AZ, a real object/artefact this time.
If I remember correctly the artist never seen the paradox Pokemon, another member of the expedition team did and they then described them to the artist. This does fit the theory that all 3 of each exists as the person could have seen all 3 and the artists misunderstood it and thought they were all one
1. Munkidori reminds me of Roger from American Dad, character design wise. And I hate that lol. 2. GROUP AQUARIUM DAY!!! 3. Pokémon feet tier list when 😂😂😂 Great listen as always guys!
Munkidori really does look like a big headed alien lol i hope its psychic type. I wonder if thats why they gave it the big head. Uhhh feet tier list is on its way..?
I have to say, I’m surprised none of you guys know about the fact that we’ve partially seen Ogerpon’s face, and it’s not even from the shadowed artwork. When you look at the image for the Teal Mask, Ogerpon’s mask is very visible, but everyone seems to ignore the orange/brown face with the black oni horns/thorns around the face showing. Also, I love Walking Wake, but I don’t believe it’s a Velociraptor. It definitely is a Theropod Dinosaur, because it has three clawed toes and ‘fingers’, so it’s something larger than a Raptor, but smaller than say, a Carnotaurus.
I don’t have a problem with any of them. I’m choosing Fezendipiti, but I’m a Fire specialist who only uses Fire types, so as Fezendipiti seems to be a Fire type, that’s what I’m choosing. Also please be Fire/Fairy type. Drought would be very nice as well.
I have a prediction for Terapagos’s ability. It’s ability will be called Terastal Spectrum and it will have the ability to terastalize into any type, but will not be able to select moves until it teras. This will force it to lock in a tera turn 1 and will solve the issue of what type it is
Mane-less Walking Wake looks like it is Alien themed, lol. Yeah, I think Gamefreak really did go the simple route for the Paradoxes. They all are "What if it is a dinosaur" wither it makes sense or not, same with making the future ones "What if it is a living robot?" It's kind of why I really hope we get more in the DLC, and we get one Ancient form of a Fossil Pokemon and one Future form of a Futuristic or Space themed Pokemon. (For example, something like Past Kabutops and Future Magnezone). I just think it would really mess with the fans and make them go lore crazy, and that would be kind of fun. I think the only way to make it more fun to mess with fans and have them theorycraft would be to have a convergent Pokemon based off an Ultra Beast. (As then it would lead fans to question if it's actually a convergent or maybe all these paradox pokemon are just Ultra Beast, brought in from another world or if Ultra Beast are Paradox Pokemon of undiscovered pokemon) For the Teal Trio, they definitely are based on Ukiyo-e drawings of Yokai and the story of Momotaro (but with the colors scrambled... it should be a yellow monkey, blue pheasant, and red dog... is that relevant? Maybe..). Honestly, I like the looks of them as statues the most, but I am excited to learn more about them. It's hard for me to not picture Okidogi as a big pokemon just because Oki means "big" in Japanese. Munkidori also messes with me for similar reasons... "Kidori" means kind of posturing or deceptive looking.
I been thinking about this more, I feel they meant to be like starters, our clothes matches the color of them. Grass, water fire mixed with something else. We all pick one pokémon (the player and the 2 new characters) make sense 3 pokémon, 3 trainers, one each and when we done we might go back and get the ones we didn’t pick
Omg!!!! I think I just realized something 1:17:04 ok if you look at here u can see that there's a hexagon on terapagos shell that has the type grass, poison and electric. Now look at the colour of tera crystal on ogerpon mask. Is this some kind of foreshadowing that ogerpon will have 2 form one being grass/electric and the other grass/poison? And also the fact that the mask was soo close to that part of terapagos shell. 1:15:58 and this art of terapagos were drawn so the grass, electric, poison were more appealing than the other part as if gf want us to focus on that part 1:05:34 there also 2 plant thing behind our character in the poster one look like a green lightning made out of thorns while the other look like a green poison flowing made out of vine Or perhaps I just overthinking ¯\_༼ •́ ͜ʖ •̀ ༽_/¯ But if form were to be real what will u be choosing?
I wonder how many new Pokemon we would get in the DLC for Scarlet and Violet? Still hoping for more Paradox Pokemon,Paldean Forms, and Covergant Species. Walking Wake is the better design because seriously it's a T-Rex Looking Dino!
First time podcast watcher Enjoyed your commentary and opinions on the new mons Fezendipiti reminds me of Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2 Monkidori has been given some Mojo Jojo comparisons Okidogi is just Paldean Incineroar I've heard theories that Walking Wake is not Suicune ancestor but the ancestor of the unnamed Pokémon that died in the fire before Ho-oh revived it
@HiddenPowerPodcast it was assumed the nameless Pokémon that perished were the Kanto Eeveelutions but can't really say that Walking Wake is a Vaporeon ancestor
How is there still anyone calling Suicune a dog when we've literally had the artist that created the beasts years ago specify which feline creatures were the main inspirations for which one...
All three of these pokemon are fighting types. Just look at them the pink things are the banda that ninjas were the black all look like the outfits ninjas were. Their feet are also different types of shoes ninjas were. Then the masks they might be getting would tie them all together. For a fighting type. So I think dogi would be grass fighting. Monkey would be water fighting. And the bird would be either fire fighting or flying fighting
1:16 they* 1:42 do people chronicled in non-fiction stories count as characters? i still definitely expect fused trios munkidori looks like they're from american dad i'll never forget bombirdier because they're so abysmal 25:01 YES EXACTLY THE POSTER MAKES THEM LOOK EVEN WORSE fezandipiti was always alright. 25:33 cringe okidogi's name is self-descriptive in quality. when you were saying a pokemon from this gen who looks similar to fezandipiti i definitely thought you meant espathra, i don't see bombirdier in them AT ALL outside of "neck proportions similar, white plumage" yeah okidogi very much looks like a cat, it's a good thing the name is completely non-subtle samurott is fairly underrated (more-so hisuian) but BEST water starter? when primarina exists? yeah fezandipiti uses plumage to wear clothes without wearing clothes, similar to the best gen 9 pokemon Squawkabilly and the second best Pokemon of all time yeah, dark psychic fairy makes a lot of sense fez being fire/flying would be cool since it means we get a good fire/flying starter can never have too many birds 1:01:39 brown? 1:02:00 that would be shade-blind, brown is just all dark warm colours at a certain point. but also fezandipiti is a red-orange, not dark enough to be brown. 1:02:29 no they're red-orange majora's mask pokemon would be sick it'd be cool if terapagos would change typing for protean with tera blast specifically automatically becoming as super-effective as possible and then whenever being attacked terapagos would try to quad-resist or be immune to a type of attack, including becoming types that are immune to statuses. conceptually speaking anyway, sounds terrible for gameplay. thing is that teal mask could be STARTABLE at the beginning of the game but only COMPLETABLE once you finish the main story of the game. i think Sw/Sh DLC had something similar.
I almost wonder if that chain they each have is binding them to that form. They all look part dark type, but maybe they’re originally pure water/grass/fire once the chain is removed and they change forms a bit. Idk if anyone else has made that assumption yet but that’s what I’m thinking lol. Then again maybe that’s copium talking because I can’t stand Okidogi😂😂
we will get em lol no reason to give us one and not the others. Also there's the fact that fans like others over some so.they will come in future tera raids.

HONEY WAKE UP! NEW HIDDEN POWER PODCAST EPISODE
I'll tell her you said to wake up and check it out
Yes, mustard, I'm coming.

I just did the Let's Go feature with Walking Wake and he really does run on water! That is so cool!
Cool Ann Profile Pic! Persona 5 and Royal are the best.
@@FTChomp9980 thanks.
"Now it's a Velociraptor and I'm here for it" were my exact thoughts
I have to say, I’m surprised none of you guys know about the fact that we’ve partially seen Ogerpon’s face, and it’s not even from the shadowed artwork.

Awesome episode, guys!
I feel like Lumi and Soul have somewhat polarising views at times and Dusty tends to ride the fence 😆

Walking wake decends from a kirin. This is why the suicune we know today look the way it does
New episode lets go!!!!!
Mane-less Walking Wake looks like it is Alien themed, lol.

Black lines on Monkidori and Okidogi are like Make up, Kabuki Make up (but as depicted on a Ukiyo-E, and the tufts of fur on Okidogi are like clouds)
grimmsnarl is black and green but is dark/fairy,so colors dont always play a part
Orgerpon looks like a butter fly. So, possibly, he's a bug type
I been thinking about this more, I feel they meant to be like starters, our clothes matches the color of them. Grass, water fire mixed with something else. As far as the 3 new legendary pokemon. Think abt it like this speak no evil see no evil hear no evil based on where the dark lines on them are located
I wonder how many new Pokemon we would get in the DLC for Scarlet and Violet? Still hoping for more Paradox Pokemon,Paldean Forms, and Covergant Species. Walking Wake is the better design because seriously it's a T-Rex Looking Dino!
Raptor lol

Fezendipiti reminds me of Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2
Monkidori has been given some Mojo Jojo comparisons
Okidogi is just Paldean Incineroar
I've heard theories that Walking Wake is not Suicune ancestor but the ancestor of the unnamed Pokémon that died in the fire before Ho-oh revived it
Welcome to the community! These are some great connections. I wonder if we'll ever see the ancestor of the beasts..
@HiddenPowerPodcast it was assumed the nameless Pokémon that perished were the Kanto Eeveelutions but can't really say that Walking Wake is a Vaporeon ancestor
Mojo Jojo, YES! Great reference/connection!
Terapegos should have a terra blast that acts like judgment from legends arceus in exchange it its self should not be able to terrastalize
I love these podcasts, I personally don't get the dislike for the three heroes Pokemon.
How is there still anyone calling Suicune a dog when we've literally had the artist that created the beasts years ago specify which feline creatures were the main inspirations for which one...
All this talk about dinosaurs, and I'm just here seeing a Qilin from day one xD
Not even a debate legendary dogs never ever in my life I ever hear someone called my boy suicune a cat
All three of these pokemon are fighting types. Just look at them the pink things are the banda that ninjas were the black all look like the outfits ninjas were. munkidori looks like they're from american dad
i'll never forget bombirdier because they're so abysmal
25:01 YES EXACTLY THE POSTER MAKES THEM LOOK EVEN WORSE
fezandipiti was always alright.
25:33 cringe
okidogi's name is self-descriptive in quality.
when you were saying a pokemon from this gen who looks similar to fezandipiti i definitely thought you meant espathra, i don't see bombirdier in them AT ALL outside of "neck proportions similar, white plumage"
yeah okidogi very much looks like a cat, it's a good thing the name is completely non-subtle
samurott is fairly underrated (more-so hisuian) but BEST water starter? when primarina exists?
yeah fezandipiti uses plumage to wear clothes without wearing clothes, similar to the best gen 9 pokemon Squawkabilly and the second best Pokemon of all time
yeah, dark psychic fairy makes a lot of sense
fez being fire/flying would be cool since it means we get a good fire/flying starter
can never have too many birds
1:01:39 brown?
1:02:00 that would be shade-blind, brown is just all dark warm colours at a certain point. but also fezandipiti is a red-orange, not dark enough to be brown.
1:02:29 no they're red-orange
majora's mask pokemon would be sick
it'd be cool if terapagos would change typing for protean with tera blast specifically automatically becoming as super-effective as possible and then whenever being attacked terapagos would try to quad-resist or be immune to a type of attack, including becoming types that are immune to statuses. conceptually speaking anyway, sounds terrible for gameplay.
thing is that teal mask could be STARTABLE at the beginning of the game but only COMPLETABLE once you finish the main story of the game. i think Sw/Sh DLC had something similar.
42:40 wait, Okidogi has a tail?!
I almost wonder if that chain they each have is binding them to that form. Idk if anyone else has made that assumption yet but that’s what I’m thinking lol. Then again maybe that’s copium talking because I can’t stand Okidogi😂😂
Monkidori looks like a pacman ghost. The worst thing in my opinion are the thick lines, makes it look from a different franchise
Yo lumi is omega based for saying hisuian samurott is the best water starter
#♥️ walking wake
Pawadox giwatina??? Lmfao 😂😂😂
we will get em lol no reason to give us one and not the others. Also there's the fact that fans like others over some so.they will come in future tera raids.
I do not understand the love for Terapagos. It has to be one of the worst Pokémon designs I’ve seen in a while.
