It’s no wonder the west extension of Line 5 is ignore, how can we get excited of extending a transit line, if the transit line their extending itself has no opening date?
@@guest426 Nah, the Transcontinental Maglev will open first, I can like get to Toronto from here in Vancouver in like 8 hours on a sleeper maglev but I still have to take the bus to Eglinton.
Everyone already knows about how tunneling works because the rest of the developed world has built thousands of KM of this stuff while the Eglinton Crosstown is still not open after 13 years.
Looks impressive too bad the results of a working transit system is far from that. I guess whatever modern techniques your company is applying is not translated to anything.
Im annoyed like everyone else about the Eglinton LTR delays, but honestly I do love these videos showing the actual process of building all the new projects, its a step in the right direction for communicating the work Metrolinx is doing. The main reason of course they dont talk about the actual Eglinton delays is because of legal issues with the conctractor consortium building the main Eglington streach. The way projects are handling now has significantly improved compared to how Eglington has gone based on all the issues that came up with the contractor consortium.
No. I'd rather see behind the scene of Eglinton crosstown delay. Just tell us what's going on.
Your answer: A corrupt premier with a Vendetta on the city.
The extension is going to be ready before the original.
Ok. But what about Eglinton crosstown?
2034 opening date.

Tunnels done faster then street cars. Tells ya something.
Might as well have been a subway.
The fact that it took them more than 10 years to build a street car is overwhelming. Oh Canada, how cute. Lol
I can see the Ontario Line open earlier than this thing.
Yeah the eglinton crosstown wont open until like 2039
The Windsor-Quebec City High Speed Rail will open before the Eglinton Crosstown
@@guest426 ...and they've been saying THAT since the '70s

Cool technology. Five years late, but still cool.
I'm sure this extension will open at the same time as the main area! Just keep digging!
how about opening the part of the line that's already finished before adding an extension
The Eglinton Crosstown. Toronto's Sagrada Familia. Jealous much, Barcelona?
chat is metrolinx winning the lawsuit

No this LRT WILL NEVER OPEN!!!
But it's not a subway though, it's a tram line.
It might not use your typical metro trains, but by virtue of being underground, this section is unambiguously a subway.
It's a huge waste to run LRT in the same tunnel as subway, which has more capacity, higher average speed

Open 2030🙄

Is this a Japanese tunneling technique ?
Ran out of actual PROGRESS updates for OPENING, NOW recycling years old content no one cares about, this agency is so desperate now.
This is new, actually. Even though the line hasn't opened yet, they are already extending it.
