Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario that plans seamless, integrated transit across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
Created in 2006, Metrolinx champions, develops and implements an integrated transportation system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area that enhances prosperity, sustainability and quality of life.
Under our mandate, we have committed to delivering the best possible transportation services today while leading the way to an even better, more convenient service tomorrow. We pledge to make the best possible use of public transportation investment dollars, and measurably improve the quality of life in our region.
Metrolinx has 3 operating divisions:
• GO Transit: the regional public transit service for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
• UP Express: an express rail shuttle service between Union Station and Pearson Airport.
• PRESTO: a regional fare payment system
