You have no idea what a podcast like this means to up and coming artists, producers, and engineers who are serious about elevating our craft. Always dope tapping in and soaking up all the knowledge I can🫡 Hopefully one day I sit across from y’all
I never knew of Ben Thomas before this morning and Wayne.wav put up a video from MixNix of Ben doing a session. Watching Ben work in that video I've never seen someone work so fast, but accurately keeping the flow of the session recording vocals. That is why I decided I need to learn more about this man and find this video. What a great engineer and human being. Thanks for this video.
Its kind of insane that I came across this video today. I’m a Producer/Engineer pursuing my degree in Business and Entrepreneurship as well. I also use Ableton, and I sent out my first round of applications to studios for an internship so that I can get hands on experience and learn how a high end studio operates. I’ve been considering dropping out of university to make more time for music, until I saw this. This guy showed me that if there’s a will, there’s a way. G-d wanted me to see this, it’s crazy.
YOU GUYS INVITED A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THIS PLATFORM BUT BRINGING THIS GUY WAS ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS EVER! THE WAY HE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING IS JUST AMAZING! AND YEAH PROTOOLS NEED HIM LOL .. THANK Y’ALL FOR THIS EPISODE FOR REAL 🙏🏾
this was fire eps was so great to hear and watch this, THIS GUYS JUST DIFFERENT DAME!!!!! the fact you brought something to show in this podcast show alot about what sort of person you are APPREICATE YOUR TIME
I’m really a fan of Benjamin Thomas now! Bro seems like an incredible human being. It’s crazy that him & KLee are probably the kindest & hardest working engineers I’ve seen.
Great episode! Benjamin Thomas came ready to give us gems of advice! Listening to his journey and watching him show his workflow was absolutely astonishing. Opened my eyes to so many possibilities with the steam deck. LJ is going to have to dive into the python/scripting side of FL after this episode.
For the ones that hate using folders in Pro Tools you can use VCA tracks instead which works the same as a Basic Folder without hiding / collapsing folder tracks. 53:48
Devon, you really ask the real spill Questions. You authentically pull the engineers genius for their audience to cheer. Bravo to you and to the team for the unique light you bear in this industry. - Nad
That headphone setup is gold for home studio producers who can’t achieve good acoustics in their room/apartment. Bit of an investment but would sound solid in any sort of weirdly shaped room
S/o David Graham & the Recording Revolution!! I too learned pro tools via him and hours of studying/practicing in my freshman year of college! He deserves hella flowers
This is definitely for the culture. Keep expanding the base to a point where audio coding is just second nature. Don't just be the users of the products. Be the MAKERS of the products. Be a MAKER!💯... Get ready for the KYTHERA Project.
Devon bro I love the fact that you don’t have to be the smartest in the room I’m pretty sure you already know some of these things but you will still carry it on as if you don’t because you understand it will carry the interview way better and those that aren’t informed makes you more relatable to them btw bro what’s the name of the song u always use on your tutorials where u say “ I want you back “ I’ve been thru all your albums and can’t find it
Bro for sure. You gotta let the guest speak. Doesnt matter to me whose saying it as long as the information is getting heard to the audience! And i knew Ben had alot of insight to give everyone
Whenever I do any reduction now.....I like using the Rosetta EQ because it's really simple and easy to do....and I'm not sure if anyone knows but when I'm adding within the Additive side of the Rosetta...and I need to take anything away after adding....I don't have to add another plugin because I can do it all in the Rosetta EQ by going into the Subtractive side and I'm done...
Hope all is well! I recently tuned in to your podcast and couldn't help but notice some discussions around FL Studio. I wanted to share my perspective on the matter, as I believe there might be some aspects that were not fully covered. It's understandable that opinions on music production tools may vary, but I wanted to shed light on the extensive capabilities of FL Studio that might not have been fully explored in your discussion. FL Studio, in its complete version, offers a myriad of features that make it a powerful tool for both mixing and mastering. One particular strength worth noting is the advanced functionality FL Studio provides for mixing. The software's intuitive interface and comprehensive set of tools make it a preferred choice for many professionals. Moreover, its versatility allows for seamless integration into various music production workflows. Additionally, when it comes to mastering, FL Studio has proven itself to be a remarkably capable platform. Its advanced mastering plugins and the ability to customize and fine-tune every aspect of the audio make it a valuable asset in the hands of skilled producers. I believe a more in-depth exploration of FL Studio's capabilities in mixing and mastering would provide a more balanced perspective for your audience. It's essential to acknowledge the software's genius when used by experienced professionals who have unlocked its full potential. I appreciate the diverse discussions on your podcast and thought it would be valuable to highlight the multifaceted nature of FL Studio. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing more engaging conversations on your platform. Bless
This interview/Pod should be the new standard for the teachable community when it comes to mixing and engineering. 🙏💯❤️ Super dope content, and of course, thank you. #PUSHDABLOX
Not that the rossetas are bad, but have you guys thought of doing something like Larry oh like giving away a copy of a daw? Like perpetual license of PT, Ableton, FL? Maybe not for every episode but here and there. Maybe convert a few ppl from daw to daw like this.
