I put this comment as a reply to the first comment so that you ('Rome Life Reactions') will see it. If you think this song is beautiful, you also must hear 'Yesterday Once More' and 'Won't Last a Day Without You,' both by the Carpenters, as well.

Richard Carpenter really was an amazing musical arranger. It really is the details, the instruments he uses and how and where they come in and out, how they interact with Karen's voice, the harmonizing, it all comes together and creates this feeling that's hard to describe.

I tell people it's dumb to be pigeonholed by one genre of music, to much GREAT music over the decades, I went and saw KISS in 2000 and Taylor Swift in 2018, her show was better. As was the music. IMO. In between the early 70's and now?

I could be wrong, but I think if you had listened to this when you first started you may not have noticed a lot of those little details that make this so beautiful. I could be wrong. But it seems to me like you're really picking up on some of those little subtleties that make some of this 70s stuff so great.

Song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Bacharach loved putting horns in his arrangements. They wrote songs for Dionne Warwick such as "Walk on By", "Anyone Who Had a Heart", "Alfie", "I Say a Little Prayer", "I'll Never Fall in Love Again", and "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?"

Karen Carpenter had one of the most beautiful voices in the music industry. it was soft it was gentle and yet could sound very sexy at the same time. If you decide to do a Christmas edition and feature Christmas songs which might not be a bad idea, you have to check out their Christmas album. There are songs on there that are almost here inducing as beautifully as she sings especially my favorite, Little Altar Boy

Songwriters are the legendary Burt Bacharach and Hall David (Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head," and the trumpet part you love is defininetly a Burt Bacharach touch. Very influential songwriter and arranger of the sixties and seventies.
