- Humanity reviewed by Gabriel Moss on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR 2. Also available on PS4, PSVR, and PC.
Humanity is a beautiful, modern reimagining of Lemmings that feels as esoteric and artsy as Enhance’s previous games, while ambitiously stepping onto new terrain for the action puzzle genre with the pitter-patter of countless little feet. It somehow manages to intermingle platforming, action, and real-time strategy elements with mind-bending finesse, and its open-endedness means I could be sitting here and tinkering with it for years - much like I have with other games with great level creators like Dreams and Little Big Planet. Humanity bursts out of left field with something so unexpectedly brilliant that I can’t help but recommend it to everyone who’s ever enjoyed a puzzle game.

Kind of weird to rate all of humanity but I'll give us a solid 6/10
Ngl that’s a bit generous, my experience was overly buggy, not that user friendly for new players, and massive cheaters ruined the experience for the rest of us. 3/10 IMO
The problem about reviewing humanity is that we dont have many other civilizations to campare us with.

The inclusion of custom maps is what really will extend the life of the game and make me come back to create maps or try fan made ones.

@@Mrturtlestomps Have you ever played a platformer on vr? its pretty similar. Definitely adds to the experience. Nothing wrong with adding immersion to any game. Seeing the people fly around and over you is pretty sick imo

That first tune is oddly satisfying
Another Enhance masterpiece. $30 with optional VR support and a level editor/sharing tool. Easy GOTY sleeper contender.

The puzzles are very fiendish even in the lower areas. Definitely takes a bit of brain power to figure them out. For a game, that cost me nothing, its a nice distraction game

NOT LEMMINGS! THIS IS A MODERN TAKE ON CHU-CHU ROCKET!
It's so frustrating! In Lemmings, the role of the lemmings changed to progress through the stage (eg. digger lemming, blocker lemming, etc). Chu-chu rocket had tiles that affected the direction of the little mice JUST LIKE HUMANITY.
Honestly a strange thing to be passionate about.

But consider it from this angle: groups of people often parrot the same information, devoid of thought or consideration, and very often (almost entirely) that information is WRONG. It's less an issue with the mislabeling of the game's progenitor, and more a commentary on otherwise intelligent creatures failing to exercise the ability to THINK.
This of course has huge ramifications with how we conduct ourselves: many of the "issues" of the day have painfully simple solutions, but we are swept up in meaningless conversation assuming conjecture as fact. We are wasting time and energy, mis-allocating resources, children are suffering, and we are made vulnerable to serpentine forces, simply due to our negligence in surmising whether or not the proposition of subject is actually TRUE.

Wow, its Lemmings all these years after.
This is the game Gendo wanted but never knew he needed. All those angels, all those impacts... All he needed was a PS5, never had to sacrifice Yui or his relationship with his son. He never needed Instrumentality, all he needed was a little Humanity 🥺

“Humanity Review”
Credit where credit is due, they had art, music and writing that was often very moving, and they managed to advance to the point they could actually get into space and heal previously incurable diseases! Humanity let themselves down, though, when they eventually blew themselves up having just broken free of the ‘empires and conquering’ stage. Overall, they left a lot to be desired, but definitely raised the expectations for any potential sequels.

This was a 10/10 until the later half where it suddenly turns into a top down shooter.
Kinda borrowed a mechanic from inside where you have to use humans like puppets in order to solve puzzles very interesting 🤔 😉
