I JUST finished my bucket bag this morning!!😊😊😊. For the 1st time, I actually ended up with the exact stitch count that was called for in the pattern. I'm fairly new to crochet and this tutorial was unbelievably good! Not one second was skimmed over or too slow. I am so happy and grateful to Yarn and Chai for taking the time to put this together. Thank you for wanting to spread your talents to the rest of us out there. Wonderful teacher! I will be posting a pic to Instagram later today. I absolutely recommend this to anyone new to crochet and looking to make a nice looking bag/purse. 👍😊😉
Thank you so much for this pattern and tutorial! I've only been crocheting for about 3 months and made a couple of rustic looking wearables, but I just finished this bag and it turned out amazing. My next project is going to be an Amigurumi care bear. Wish me luck.
Hi Rebecca, you’re so talented. Not only can you crochet, but you create wonderful stylish designs, write understandable patterns and provide easy to follow (excellent) tutorials. I’m blessed to be the recipient of your gifting; thank you. My Mosaic Bag is almost finished and it is beautiful. The process was not only fun but educational from beginning to end and I look forward to taking on more of your projects.
Hi Rebecca, I agree with the comments below, this is really the best video I have ever watched (and I do watch a lot of tutorial videos as I have a lot of interests!). Your instructions are very clear and precise, your voice is calm and clear, there is no irritating background noice and your hands are were it is supposed to be - in plain sight! Even the background you are using is really nice, it does not clash with the yarn you are using. I love your yarn colors. Thank you so much.
❤️❤️❤️❤️LOVE these bags!!! Made one of each!! I love the way that you are SO clear in your words and showing the way to do things!!! Going to make one for myself now!💕💕💕💕 Thabk you soooo much!,
Truly the best crocheting CAL on UA-cam! You are a great teacher and do beautiful work! Thank you for your attention to detail and explicit instructions! I can’t wait for more from you. I’ve done your baskets, the Mailia bag and several bucket bags. 😀
Melanie Craddock wow, thank you so much 😊 🙏I didn’t think people would be interested in that tutorial, my husband convinced me to make the video. I’m always very happy to hear people are getting something from it ❤️
I just finished making this bag. For some reason my eyelet holes and D rings did not line up with the pattern even though I had the correct amount of stitches. Not a huge problem, I just went back and fixed it. I really love the design and the instructions. I made a few changes with the cinch cord and strap. I crocheted a Roman cord in the same color as color 3 for the cinch cord, and I crocheted a modified Roman cord in color 1 to make my strap. I really love the results.
Thank you for an amazing tutorial! Finished my bag without any problems and the result is stunning. Very simple design that gives lot of opportunities for matching different colors and finishing touches so that every bag can be personalized :> I had a lot of fun over these few days. Eyelets really do make a difference.
Nearly completed my bag. I used a verigated yarn as that what is what I had. But am going to redo another one in the mosaic design. Your tutorials are amazing and so easy to follow. Well done
Almost finished with mine, and it looks amazing! I've only been crocheting for a month or so, but the way you explain the stitches makes it a million times easier!
You could also add the nylon strap to a crochet strap to make it sturdier and the crochet won’t stretch that way. Can’t wait to make this bag. Thank you!
Great tutorial. Just sat through all 3 parts. Can’t wait to make your bag. So many great crochet tips! Love the D ring attachment. I will use that method for other projects as well. Thank you. ❤️
LOve Love Love this bag. I will definitely make a new one as it was so easy and the instructions were very precise and easy to follow. I will definitely be adding the thingy to make the bag closure tighter. I will probably make my strap just a bit shorter too, but that's just preference. Thank you Rebecca for your time and talent.
Thanks for this great tutorial! I cannot wait to play with colors, and I really had no appreciation for how much those eyelets could improve with the added hardware. Side note: a great resource for straps I found is the company K.carrol accessories. I bought a few guitar strap-like cross chest purse straps as replacements and for a 'new' purse I got on clearance at Target which had a ripped strap. The products came and are very durable, and they had some really pretty color combos and patterns available. I believe they were meant to look like decorated guitar straps, and they have the connectors already attached that will clip on any shoulder bag (with the strap doubled) or cross chest with even my old bohemian style printed bucket bag.
I used aunt Lidya’s size 10 variegated as my color ‘c’ for my bag and visually, turned out great. Should’ve lined it though because it stretched out sooooo much that it’s not salvageable and my daughter is really sad. But now I’m off to make a new one ( she wants the same pattern ❤️ I will line it this time) And probably try shawl in a cake for my ‘c’ color this time.
I’ve enjoyed this crochet along with you absolutely love my bag just need to add pull chord and eyelets and strap been sick so haven’t made it to the store yet for accessories I need
Loved making the mini bag but I do have a question.... On your videos, the D rings were on the inside of the bag when you attached the strings. Is that correct??? The picture of the tutorial shows the D rings on the outside.
Question on the mini. At the top, row above the chain one holes (around 17:52 in video) The written instructions say to SC 8 then chain 1/skip one and you say that but correct it to SC7 then skip 1. Which is right. I just did SC 8 then skip and don’t want to rip it out if it was right. Also the written says to SC8 then skip (7 times) wouldn’t that add up to 63 stitches rather than 72?
Hi Rebecca, I am a leftie and wondering where to start the top? It seems to me that the only way to do it is to start on the 'wrong' side that is the inside of the bag rather than the outside. Will this work? I haven't watched all the video yet. Just a beginner following along!
@@YarnandChai left corner inside out? As the start point for Colour A is facing the wrong direction. We lefties crochet in the opposite direction. Please confirm. Thanks
When we start working on the top of the bag (the part of the bag that you have made in Aqua) why can't the first 4 rounds be in continuous rounds without joining, creating a chain 1 and then turning back the other way? Is this way of doing it just personal preference or is there a reason why we have to join, ch 1 and turn back the other way?
You probably just lost a few stitches along the way. It's not a big deal and it's the reason I have you fasten off and restart for the next section, so you're back on track regardless :)
I paid for the All Access Pass on your site on June 4th through PayPal and have not been able to access the site again since then. I have not been able to figure out how to contact you, which is why I am contacting you here.
Your starting stitch may have shifted due to a few stitches unraveling without you noticing or something like that... but as long as you have the correct number of stitches in the last round you'll be fine. That's exactly why I had us fasten off and then restart at the side of the bag, because I knew with thousands of people making the bag during the crochet-along, chances were people were going to be off and I didn't want the eyelet placement to be affected :)
At timestamp 17:45 you have a subtitle stating "correction: mini size crocheted 7(not 8) between each skipped stitch". But just at round 34 you were saying that SC in each of the first 8 STS. CH1, SK next ST. This is confusing. I think you do not need a correction at the timestamp 17:45, do you?
@@samanthanicholson9015 you can use either 6mm or 8mm eyelets. You can buy the eyelets, backs, and eyelet tool in one package, at least at Hobby Lobby. All of the pattern details can be found in the blog post linked in the description above.
Yes, just like most crochet bags. If you don't like the casual slouched look, you can line it and that will help, but this design isn't meant to have a lot of structure.
I'm sorry, that was confusing. When I said "every other" I meant "every remaining". I can certainly see how that would be understood as "every odd one". I'll add that to the corrections in the description :)

You just simplified several techniques that I’ve been so frustrated with because of other tutorials. Thank you! Can’t wait to buy supplies and try.
I made my version of this bag on my first attempt beautiful video absolutely loved it

You could also add the nylon strap to a crochet strap to make it sturdier and the crochet won’t stretch that way.

Love this tutorial and the others. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I also love the pattern.
Just for a bit of suggestion, u can put an adjuster like a square ring to make the straps adjustable. Hope it helps :)
Thank you my dear

I came to this video to ask this exact question I didn't realize I asked 3 years ago 😂.
Any chance I can get an answer to my question now in 2024? 😉
I am now watching number three and admiring your work, question is are you using cotton yarn?
A and B are cotton, and C is acrylic. Check out the video planning guide (in the video description) for a thorough explanation of recommended yarns.
Hellow. what size swivel did you use in this bag? and also the D ring...
How many yarn used for this bag
Hello this is so great. How can I get a printed pattern? I was able to print the planning guide but not the pattern
Hi Tammy! The ad-free PDF version is for sale on the pattern blog post.
I don’t have d rings eyelets or anything for the straps so I improvised
I've tried with 3mm yarn with 3mm hook and end with 4.724 inch on its base.. wkwkkwk, anyway very good tutorial!
Hi there, just wanna ask what do u call the thing to put on the strap so that we can adjust the strap if we want to make it longer or shorter.Thanks.
cinched

My rings are not at edges when bag is flattened. Are they supposed to be a bit off? I have the correct chain count. Thanks.
They should be at the sides.
@@YarnandChai thank you, I guess I will have to figure the way to get that right.
my fasened off color a and b are in a different spot then yours, did i do something wrong?

How come my bag become smaller for the clasic is it because of the thickness of the yarn, Im using polyester d27
Are you using the same thickness for Color A and Color B? At what point does it get smaller? If it gets smaller at the very top, that's normal.
@@YarnandChai yes I think I need to get the same thicknes, I will try again next time, I love the pattern thougt
