I’m actually a more intermediate/beginner advanced crocheter but I have never done a project that As you work along both sides of the chain so I really appreciate the way you broke this down for beginners! And now I’m happy to have another skill in my bag 🤣😉
This is probably the easiest tutorial I've followed. Thank you. Your explanation on which are stitches and which are chains has shown me where i've been going wrong all this time!!
I have been crocheting for quite a long time but could never grasp how to do the base of a bag. Your description was SUPERB!!!! THANK YOU for your easy instructions. You are WONDERFUL!!! :)
This is by far the best crotchet base tutorial on UA-cam! Clear instructions for a beginner like myself. I was about to give up on making a bag but with your amazing ability to teach you saved the day! Thank you so much 💗
Thank you for sharing this pattern and tutorial . Your instructions are so easy to follow , I love the look of this bag , so many uses . I’m working on my second bag , my granddaughters will love them !
This is definitely a VERY well explained tutorial! I’ve been wanting to make this bucket bag since I started crocheting. I’m still new but you are an excellent teacher!! Thank you for that!! I hope you keep doing these!!🧶❤️
Oh my goodness. Thank you for your video. I appreciate you sooo much for the CC, as I’m both hearing and vision impaired. I also appreciate you speaking slowly ❤️. You explain fabulously and loving ALL the details as I’m learning with confidence 😋
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen. Thanks for being so specific on where to start and end each row. I’ve been crocheting for about 5 years now and I think I do it wrong about half the time, but now I know! Thanks so much!
I'm a life long knitter and just started crocheting in December. Thanks to your videos, I've been successful in my new venture! My first project was your Malia bag and it came out perfect! Your videos and instructions are perfect and answered so many questions I had as I was learning. Thank you so much!
I am a beginner crocheter and this video is so clear and thorough. I really appreciate your hard work and it is all free and available! You are very kind to post this for us all! Have a great day!
Votre sac est très joli. J'adore la forme. Merci beaucoup pour le partage du tuto, c'est très gentil de votre part..Bonne journée, je vous fais un petit coucou de la France.🤩🌺🌹🌹🌷🥀💐💐💐💐
You are an amazing instructor; clearly explaining and showing every round. You have a new fan, I’ve liked and subscribed to your channel. On to rows 13-22, see you on the next video. Thanks so much for your time, I’m sure everyone agrees with me.
I have watched about 20 videos and finally landed on yours, just to learn how to crochet a bag base. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your very clear instruction! Now I can move forward with my project. I also love how you talked about which stitch to go into and explained which is which. I haven't been able to really understand that until now! I crochet a lot but I still consider myself a beginner. ;o)
You are awesome! I was looking at every crochet channel seeing if they have a bag like this. Some did, but didn't have clear instructions. But you have clear instructions. Love the way you do it, explain then show. Awesome! I have made this bag and use it for school it is very comfy and fun! Thank you for making this bag! You are naturally awesome! : )
I have used your tutorials and have made 2 bags. This is the first tutorial that I have followed where I have gotten the stitch count correct and made the item perfectly (even though I've switched up the pattern a bit). Your tutorial is very easy and clear. I applaud you!! Just from learning how to change the first colour, I've made my bag with multiple colours, including a solid colour as a separation line. It looks fantastic!! I'm going to try the cardigan next! Thank you from Trinidad in the Caribbean!!! Do you make fair isle hats? I would love to be able to do that. I think you might be the person to make me understand it.
OMG, you are such a wonderful teacher! I'm going to make with the Lorena worsted from Ice Yarns. I have all the colors. Thank you so much for this CAL!
We only do it for the bottom, and it's to keep the capsule shape from getting distorted and "leaning". When you make a crochet stitch, the top loops lie slightly to the right of the base of the stitch, so when you work in unturned rounds, it goes on a bit of a diagonal which will throw off your flat base. I switch back to turned rounds again at the top to keep the eyelets lined up. Hope that helps! :)
Loved following along with you while making a classic sized bag! I absolutely love my bag....I added some embellishments to mine. Can't wait to start my mini bag!
I really like the bag and tutorial. I just wish you would have used stitch markers. Sometimes its hard to see the SC stitch when working in the round. In the beginning.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful pattern! I love this bag and have made several of them for family and friends and they love them too. Also Your instructions are so helpful and easy to follow. So just want to send many many thanks 😊💕
i have finished my first bag and made some mistakes along the way and am now working on my second and third bag and just wanted to make some notes: for lefties, when they say work the end to the other side, bring it to the front, not the back. Also, they do not take into account the slip stitch when doing the chain one and turn then putting it into the first stitch but they do count it in the stitch count which is very confusing so I just go into the slip stitch instead of the one before it.
Also, when doing the mosaic part, you want to make sure that the thinner yarn goes between the V and not to the side as it will look bad if you do not make sure of it.
GIRL!! THANK YOU! Let me tell you, I needed a new purse, while I was trying not to be so picky and refusing to pay nearly $200 for the 'OMG I Luv it!' I though - maybe I should make one! And your video popped right up. SO I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!
It's still confusing. Is there a way you can use the stitch markers. It confusing when your going around the ends of the circle. Like were to place them
Hi my name is Joan, I am a new subscriber and a new crocheter. Wanted to ask if I can do more increases to make it a bit bigger? Will it through off the pattern?
After we finish the bottom part of the bag, do we need to fasten off the remaining yarn or leave attached until Part 2 is released for the mosaic part of the bag? I'm still fairly new to crocheting bags (& choosing a yarn was a bit of a struggle as I wanted to make sure my skeins had yardage required & even tho my yarn says its a #4 weight, I think my bag is going to end up a size between the 2 in the pattern even tho I'm using classic sized directions) I chose lion brand 24/7 cotton for main colors & serenity sock yarn for my mosaic pattern to show thru...
I love how you a good explainer I want to make me a bag 💼 but the only thing I’m a left hand 🖐 could you please have left hand crochet 🧶 because I love ❤️ your 💼
Have a weird question so please don't get upset with the messenger LOL, but I have a little friend who wants to know if you can do this project all in single crochet and leave out the fancy stitches. I told her that she probably could but I would ask you anyway. Would greatly appreciate any answer you can give.

You need about 150yds for A, 140yds for B, and 150yds for C. I strongly recommend watching the Video Planning Guide for details. (Check the video description)
Check the video description for the link to the video planning guide or to the written pattern. Both will thoroughly explain what yarns you need and how much. :)
This pattern doesn’t work for me. I follow along and do like you are doing but my stitches doesn’t add up to the stitch count. When you have 60 I don’t. 🤨
I bought yarn online for this and it described it as "medium" gauge. When it arrived, it looked so small! I started the bag and, unfortunately, it's significantly smaller than it should be. So frustrating!
What yarn did you purchase? I ask because cotton yarn can look significantly thinner than acrylic yarn of the same weight, so sometimes it can surprise people, but that doesn't mean it's not what you need.
@@cherby12 is it Caron Simply Soft? That is a thin #4, yes. It's not a very strong yarn and I'm not sure I'd use it for a bag. I strongly recommend cotton.
I am not exactly a newby but i need clarification before i proceed any further. i have just started Pt 2 (round 23) - now continuous rounds - please can you confirm which side will be the outside of the completed bag i.e. round Pt 1 ended on a wrong side round so first round of Pt 1 (23) will be a wrong side seemingly indicating that the outside of the bag will be what is normally the inside of the work ! I do hope you can understand what I am trying to say ? thank you

Should advise to use a stitch maker for first stitch of round. It helps a lot. Love this pattern. 💓
It's always a good idea to use a stitch marker if you aren't able to visually determine the first stitch of the round. :)
I am enjoying this crochet along loving how the bag is coming out thank you for sharing this with us all

How much yarn will this bag need to create? Thanks.
It's all in the Planning Guide: ua-cam.com/video/m9jLyABuT9U/v-deo.html
If I do more increases that will make the bag wider right?
Correct
Hiii, for this base, can i add some more stich for bigger bag?? I'm from malaysia😊
Sure! You'll just need to refigure where to put the holes for the drawstrings. :)
