I recently tried to wear head coverings this year and my goal is to get over my fears of people looking at me funny and wear it full time! I am Christian woman and I have done a lot of research on head coverings and how it really used to be such a common thing up until feminism unfortunately. I think it’s more about modesty, showing your approval of gender roles, being submissive to your husband and doing what most women did for thousands of years until feminism destroyed everything. Thank you so much for sharing your story. They are not many Christians out there that cover their head anymore. I really appreciate you speaking about this. God bless.

I’m glad God is convicting us to go back to it❤ It is a true display of His power and existence I believe, since this is not something we are inclined to do in our flesh. God bless you as well ❤

Headcovering is a crown for a daughter of the king of the universe, a physical symbol of spiritual protection. It is a symbol the desire to live in covenant like a lady betrothed to Yeshua Messiah. You are proclaiming Yeshua as your protection.

    • @JohnYoder-vi1gj
      @JohnYoder-vi1gj 6 місяців тому +1

With all due respect a head covering is in no way described as a crown. I hope the person who mentioned this was just being overly emotional. But as a stickler to scripture, which we all should be (2nd Tim 3:16-17) we should not try to romanticize and add ideas that are not scripturally sound like making it appear that putting a hat on a woman's head is in some way a symbol of spiritual protection. Jesus is our protection whether one wears a veil or not.

@@JohnYoder-vi1gj you are welcome to your opinion/interpretation. For whatever reason you seem to feel threatened by the interpretation, and no I don’t see a hat as a covering in this context because it is not specifically a spiritual symbol like a cloth headcovering is. I have read accounts of women talking about how some women are treated better or ignored by certain men. Women/wivesrepresent the bride of Christ, men represent Christ in a marriage context. Christ is king, Israel is his bride/queen. I realize it requires a little bit of an open mind and Hebraic mindset to understand my claim. I see the exodus as a pattern of salvation, and represented in the tabernacle furnishings (outer court is Egypt/justification/judgment, inner court is wilderness/sanctification, holy of hollies-promised land)altar of burnt sacrifice represents Christ, laver-baptism, showbread -word of Yahweh, altar of incense-pray, menorah-obedience/Holy Spirit in us, holy of hollies-throne room/promised land), but people would argue against that too. Psalm 140:7, Isaiah 47:2, and Numbers 5:18 hint at headcovering as a protection, generally married women, however believers are betrothed to Christ.

    • @JohnYoder-vi1gj
      @JohnYoder-vi1gj 5 місяців тому +1

@@messianichebrewshawnkawcak1550 Nice play at words by trying to make it appear that I am “threatened” by the interpretation so as to paint me as a fearful person. Nice tactic. Though this is not the case but rather that one should state the claim that such an idea is false and then follow through with evidence, which should be the manner for any false doctrine.
Ok so even though you don’t see a hat as a covering, you admit to believing that a cloth head covering is, which doesn’t help prove your claim by the way. You don’t even try to offer any evidence from the main source of this topic, which is 1st Corinthians 11. Instead, we get alleged witness “accounts” of how wearing a veil supposedly helped in certain moments.
Just so you know Christians are supposed to get our source of doctrine from the Bible not from people outside of the Bible. If this is how you think something is “justified” because it helped in some way, then who is to stop someone from saying that wearing a crucifix or scapula helped them as well? And there are tons of RC’s who will swear by that. So, this line of thinking is not logical at all.
You even admit that your belief “requires a little bit of an open mind and Hebraic mindset to understand my claim.” Of course, it would take an open mind because you would need the hearer to accept your stance with little to no biblical proof.
Then when you finally refer to something biblical you cite 3 verses in the Bible which were hardly proofs that women ought to wear a veil. It seemed more like you did a word search and randomly chose them.
      Psalm 140:7
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
I think it is safe to say that we are including men here as they tend to go into battles, right? So this doesn’t help with the idea that only women are to wear some kind of covering.
      Isaiah 47:2
Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
Uncovering the locks which I assume you are referring to does not support the idea that full on doctrine on head covering existed. Both men and women wore things on their heads for many reasons. So how can one take this very short phrase and imply a doctrine existed?
      Numbers 5:18
And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:
This verse also does not prove that a head covering doctrine existed. One can argue that since the woman went before the priest that she could have easily dressed up to see him. Like when Rebecca put on a veil when she was next to Jacob’s house, BEFORE they were married. Had it really been a doctrine she should have worn it throughout the trip. According to the Bible putting on a head covering is classified as a finery (aka bravery) that supposedly enhances one’s look, if you wish to believe Isaiah 3:18-23. The Bible here lists many accessories that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that putting on bonnets, veils, headbands, fine linen and hoods were accessories to make someone look more attractive.
Based on biblical facts head covering was not a protection and were not necessarily for married women. Though it may seem very romantic to say it shows believers are betrothed to Christ but such a concept is not biblical.

As a Christian man, I think it's a wonderful testimony, and one that calls for courage in our mundane, fashion-conscious times. I hope it will inspire others.
A few comments. Just look at the traditions of Christian countries (I live in France). Until not so long ago, our grandmothers or great-grandmothers used to cover their heads. Depending on the culture, it's not necessarily a veil, but a head covering, a kind of hat, a kerchief, etc. It's not as extreme as some Muslims, it's all a question of modesty without excess, and it was natural common sense, not even necessarily religious. Also, I think women in traditional clothes are so much more beautiful, it shows the beauty of cultures (transcending and complementing the beauty of individual), unlike this ugly standardization (jeans are a no-go, loose-fitting dresses are so much better!).
In short, if there were any doubt... Ask yourself this simple question: what is the role model for the Christian woman? The Virgin Mary, mother of our sweet Savior, of course! Mary was veiled, like Jewish women of the time, except that as the mother of the Eternal, she is a timeless example.

You are not far from the kingdom of heaven. Keep seeking; keep growing. Now that you cover your head as a woman should, you can see all the women around you who professed to love Jesus. They dishonor him in not doing so. Just know that the narrow path is far more narrow than you presently perceive. There are things yet to be learned. Seek the Lord in His Word (KJV), and there is far more He will show you.

Why would she not be far from the kingdom of heaven? because she is choosing to wear a head covering? This saying has to do with salvation and putting on a hat is not going to get you closer to heaven. Looks like you are mixing salvation and head covering. Though she can choose to do so but a woman is not required to wear a veil. Paul was saying that a woman ought to cover her head but with long hair. If you read the King James bible you won't find words related to a foreign object like a cloth or fabric and much less veil but you will find that hair is written 3 times and words related to hair written 4 times (shorn and shaven). Please re-read the bile and particularly the KJ so that you can see for yourself how Paul is referring to long hair (covered) and short hair (uncovered). God bless.

@@JohnYoder-vi1gj Good evening Mr Yoder. With respect, the King James Bible is the only version I read, for it is God's preserved Word for English speaking people. This young lady is indeed reading from a false version; but just as the Lord revealed the truth about head-coverings to her, if she continues seeking Him, He will reveal even this unto her in due time. Everyone is at a different point in their walk. Perhaps it is time now for you to learn this about head-coverings.
Paul is indeed speaking about head-coverings and not her hair in 1 Corinthians 11:5-7. For if he were speaking about her hair as a covering, then verse 5 would make no sense. As if to say: "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered (without hair) dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven (no hair)." You see? It would then be saying that if she prayeth and prophesieth without hair, that it would be even as if she was without hair... That doesn't make sense, doesn't it?
And again, if Paul was speaking about hair and not a head-covering, or vail, then he would be speaking the same thing about the man in verse 4. If this is so, then all men must shave their hair off before they pray.
It is abundantly clear what Paul is speaking about in this passage, and this young lady has received a revelation about it. It is because the stubbornness in our flesh that we allow people to explain away the scripture so we can believe it how we choose to.
There is far more about the head-covering, and why a woman must be covered always; except when in privacy or in the company of her husband. But that is a bit deeper.
Nevertheless, whether covered or uncovered, as Jesus said; "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5.

      @JohnYoder-vi1gj 6 місяців тому

@@1John3KJV Since as you say “Everyone is at a different point in their walk.” And we are being cordial here perhaps it is time for you to learn this about head-coverings as well,
Paul uses the word covered and uncovered in 1 Corinthians 11:5-7 all of which are not considered nouns but verbs. It is a common mistake among head covering promoters to not only to claim there a noun here somewhere but that it is a specific noun like a hat or veil. Since there is no noun here head covering enthusiasts like to “fill in the gaps” (so to speak) and claim it is a synthetic covering even though the context of the passage refers to hair on 7 occasions. But the words for veil (the noun), cloth or fabric are not found anywhere.
You mentioned that verse 5 would make no sense if he meant hair. As if to say: "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered (without hair) dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven (no hair)."
But you are reconstructing the verse incorrectly. It is more like: "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered (meaning not covered in long hair aka short hair) dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven (no hair)."
If covered means “long hair” as we read in verse 15 then what do you think Uncovered means? The opposite in other words short hair. So as you can see it makes sense to say that a woman with short hair is LIKENED to be as someone shaved. There is at least some kind of connection here. But the thing you are not considering is that head covering makes LESS SENSE. If we were to believe in head covering then it would mean that a woman without a veil or hat is like a woman with no hair??? Don’t you see that the head covering version is MORE illogical. That doesn't make sense, right?
Not having a veil on is not the same as having no hair.
Again, your understanding of hair being the covering is not correct. Almost every head covering person I speak to ends up with the wrong conclusion that If Paul was speaking about hair and not a head-covering, or veil, then all men must shave their hair off before they pray. But like I said being uncovered is NOT about being shaved or cut bald. “Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered (in long hair), dishonoureth his head.” As you can see there is no confusion or clash with something else it makes perfect sense. It even flows parallel with verse 14 in how it is shameful for a man to have long hair.
It is obvious that because of misinterpretation you are able to think others are wrong because you are forming a logic that is not based on what is written or that anyone is arguing.
Lastly Paul was not being exclusive to two moments like praying or prophesying he was just giving us two examples. Paul uses many reasons why women ought to cover their heads with long hair and men with short hair. He uses the creation order, angels, headship, being the image and glory of God, nature and simple observation of what is appealing. Verse 13 shows Paul saying does it look good if a woman is not covered (in long hair) while praying. The word is comely in KJ which means appealing in appearance. It is evident that Paul is telling us it looks bad is a woman with a manly haircut does something holy of godly LIKE praying or prophesying. A women without a hat is not going to render a woman unappealing.
I agree that it is because of the stubbornness in our flesh and church rules that we allow people to explain away the scripture so we can believe it how we choose to. You mentioned that a “woman must be covered always; except when in privacy or in the company of her husband.” But now this is a contradiction to your own teachings that if a woman were really supposed to wear a veil and under only two conditions then why now say it is almost always. This is a contradiction that you are not realizing.
I hope you can see that I am honestly trying to clarify this issue and hope that God helps you on your journey to trust him and not some church or group’s interpretation of the Bible. God bless.

@@JohnYoder-vi1gj Good evening Mr Yoder. We can go back and forth ad nauseam about this topic, which is fruitless. I did not come here for that. Neither did I make a comment on this young ladies video to enter into debate with anyone (Proverbs 13:10); but to encourage her. It is evident from the scriptures and by the Holy Ghost that Paul is teaching about Christian women using a vail for she ought to be covered, and the man is not to be covered. Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. Therefore, Paul used something God ordained in nature to illustrate what God ordained for His people (1 Corinthians 14:37).
Here, I teach exactly why men are not supposed to cover their heads: ua-cam.com/video/C3Wy-llEcgY/v-deo.htmlsi=CzQm6I48sqK0l0YT
Yes, I did say that a woman ought to be covered not just when praying or prophesying. It was not to any contradiction of anything that I have said; but touching on something that is written elsewhere in the scriptures. Which things I do not intend to speak of here.

@@1John3KJV I understand that it was not your desire to debate on this topic but as a Christian we are supposed to be ready at any time to preach whether we wanted to or not. So I don’t know what beliefs you adhere to or what sect you belong to that would prevent you from preaching but I, as a believer, in Christ make full proof of my ministry. “Preach the word; be instant (ready) in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” 2nd Tim4:2-5
As this is God’s words and shouldn’t be taken lightly to those that love him I am glad when an opportunity arises to preach and teach God’s words.
Perhaps you are not seeing it but I am also trying to encourage the young lady that she take into consideration the scriptures more carefully so that she may follow God’s words more perfectly.
I must humbly disagree that Paul is teaching about Christian women using a veil since the word veil is not mentioned. It is true that a woman ought to be covered but one should not assume it is a veil when the noun is not there. But when we read the other verses we start to find out what Paul is referring to as he mentions hair 3 times and shorn and shaven 4 times all referring to hair. And it is true that a man is not to be covered, but not covered in long hair.
I am glad that you quoted verse 13 and 14. “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.” Though you may see an illustration but it does not have to be taken this way. It can easily be understood that Paul was clarifying what he was speaking of earlier especially when he connects long hair with covering. This alone should prove that Paul was saying from the beginning that the covering is long hair. Therefore to be covered is to be covered in long hair and to be uncovered means the opposite to have short hair, which men should have. I don’t see any way around this if Paul is giving us the definition of what he is referring to. God bless.

@@MadddyKayy True. It's a beautiful message too and admirable to wear a head covering as a Christian. But most of all is to not have a Jezebel spirit whether a person chooses to wear a veil or not. Conservative clothing is a must also and not showing cleavage or wearing tight pants or dresses. If you wear a head covering and have all that revealing clothing and are a mean person a woman might as well not wear a veil.

People will give you weird looks, but people will also admire your strength and courage. Most importantly though, you get peace from feeling God's approval. It's the best feeling knowing that He is proud of you and that He accepts you and it makes it not matter so much when other people judge you. It has definitely brought me to a deeper place of intimacy with God.

In my absolutely secular country no woman - that is not a foreigner - wears head coverings. I recently began going to a congregation, that practice it during service. And so I'm educating myself about it. If it is biblical or a misunderstanding etc.
But I happen to like it, actually. If it is honest. It has been that way forever, since I was a kid. Nuns or my grandmother, who was a nurse, wore these, elderly women.
In contrast to the misguided life I lived, at my core I have always been extremely conservative and since I was born again, it shows again, more and more.

This was a big topic for me coming out of nearly 10 years of legalistic fundamentalism where head coverings and having long hair were mandatory for the women of our church. After many years of prayer about these verses God was gracious and showed me that this teaching on long hair and head coverings has no parallel under the OT type and shadow of Christian doctrine. Sound Christian doctrine is found in the OT blueprint such as sacrificial lamb, baptisms and out of servitude into a place of liberty and provision. This answer to these verses while utterly thrilling and liberating left me with a major headache. If they are not to be acted upon why are they there. After a couple of weeks of prayer ( so quick ) I had a verse coming to me 1 Cor 7 1..... now concerning the things whereof you wrote unto me !!!!!!! NOW....concerning the things YOU WROTE UNTO ME...... Paul covered these things because the corinthians had written to him about them. And then at the end of his discourse on their questions he finishes with his statement .....nevertheless we have no such customs neither do the churches of God. 1 Cor 11 16 WOW!!!

This is exactly what The Lord did for me also. I was in prayer and I heard "Cover your hair." I immediately grabbed a scarf and put it over my hair to pray. I did that at home for a while, but then I forgot and stopped. A while later, again I was reminded in my spirit to cover my hair. I began to seek the Lord on this and read the scriptures concerning head coverings. The Holy Spirit also brought to my mind such verses as "Pray unceasingly" and "Be instant in prayer". My flesh panicked when I thought of covering at work. The Lord really was dealing with so many things in me including pride, modesty and so much more. When I finally decided to obey Him and cover my head always, then He showed me that my divorce and remarriage of 19 years was adultery. I was an adulteress and didn't even realize it!! He was able to lead me out of remarriage adultery and preserve me from changing my "jean" "et" "ics" with the swab and shot. I feel strongly it is because I was obedient in this "little" thing. May Jesus bless anyone who hears His words and obeys Him.

You’ve got guts. One time I was involved in doing deliverance ministry on a woman. At the start I asked her to put on a head covering and when she did the demonic voices in her head started to swear and cuss etc. The demons do not like head coverings. Later on a I cast a demon of feminism out of her. When I challenged the demon it manifested and then I quoted 1 Timothy 2:12 and it spoke through her and swore at me telling me it hated me as I went through all the New Testament passages relating to biblical manhood and womanhood. I finished up going through a mass deliverance list of feminist spirits like “matriarchal dominance” and “Jezebel” etc. One by one they were screaming and coming out of her. The final demon revealed that it it thought women were stupid etc. This tells me that the feminist spirit does not empower or love women. It hates women, looks down on women and wants to destroy them. Feminism hates biblical womanhood. At the end of that ministry the woman couldn’t remember anything that had taken place. She had been totally out of it and she admitted that in that area she would probably need more deliverance. Unfortunately following that experience she refused to carry on with more ministry because she was unwilling to repent of cheating on her husband or to acknowledge her narcissism. She was lying about her husband and accusing him of being a narcissist. I known him for a long time now and he’s definitely not a narcissist. It’s a sad ending but it definitely exposed the supernatural reality of head coverings and Satan’s hatred for biblical manhood and womanhood. On the bright side her husband carried on to greater and greater freedom in his life. It seems evangelical feminism has infiltrated and taken over our charismatic church’s. I personally think it’s demonic. Bless you for speaking up sister. Keep doing what you’re doing. Btw Derek Prince’s wife - Ruth Prince also used to wear head covering when she prayed or prophesied.

@@KayintheBible If you’re talking to me - I don’t have one because I’m a dude. So we just grabbed a cloth and used it in the moment. I did it because I heard of other people doing that in deliverance. However, I would be careful nowadays because I want to make sure I’m not pressuring people into it either. The demonic does recognise that head coverings historically and culturally represented a spiritual reality of male headship and they recognised in that moment that that’s what we were doing, but at the same time I want women to come to their own convictions on this. In a ministry setting I think a deliverance minister can be authentic but in their humanness can still apply something that is correct in an abusive way. I’m in the tension of realising that the demons may not like something but at the same time if the person who is receiving ministry isn’t comfortable with something I’m hesitant to push that on them. Demons don’t ever like being cast out but that doesn’t mean we should force deliverance ministry on people who don’t want it. If the person says “no” we should probably leave it alone. Same with head coverings when ministering deliverance. If the person says “no” then we shouldn’t push it. Not that I did that. I definitely did not push it on her, but I don’t want people to feel backed into a corner and I think in some instances a woman might go along with it because she feels a pressure to even though she may not want to. It definitely has to be her choice.

If we follow those who subscribe to the doctrine of women wearing veils, then it can be argued that the most often cited verse is 1st Corinth. 11:5, which states:
“But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.”
According to many of those who believe women ought to wear veils this verse supposedly implies that a woman’s uncovered head is a woman who does not wear a veil. Such a woman is either dishonoring God, their own physical head or her husband for failing to wear it which implies that they are in disobedience. Some have gone so far as to say it is a sin. Another assumption is that the woman being referred to already has long hair and since they conclude that the covering is a veil then it must be referring to an “additional” covering otherwise it would clash with verse 15 stating that God gave women long hair for a covering. Another conclusion is that women ought to be covered ONLY when praying and prophesying which would make it seem as though it were something that can be placed on or taken off like a veil. You’ve probably noticed by now it takes several assumptions to reach the conclusion that women ought to wear a foreign object on their heads, despite the lack of evidence.
    * Does the Bible really give a clear command that women should wear a veil?
The first thing that everyone must understand when talking about this topic is that it DOES NOT say the word “veil “or any other physical headwear, as far as the KJV is concerned. It surely mentions that the woman’s head should be covered, and no one disputes this, but it does not say that it should be covered with a veil, a shawl, a bonnet, a cap, or any other specific headwear. The verses in question within 1st Corinthians 11 mention the words, cover, covered, uncovered, and covering, but that does not mean we can translate this to mean specifically a veil, a shawl, a bonnet, a cap, or anything else similar. In fact, it would seem more like an adverb rather than a noun. Nevertheless, the word “cover” is often unfortunately interpreted by head covering promoters to mean a veil above all other types of headwear, even if there is no evidence to prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt. To do so would mean that one is trying to read more into the verse than what is actually stated and is not truly seeking an exegesis of the Scriptures.
Some have claimed that they are referring to a physical synthetic head covering because the Scriptures seem to indicate that there are two exclusive conditions in order to wear one and that is when a woman is either praying and/or prophesying. But does this interpretation stand up to logic?
If we were to believe that under certain conditions a woman ought to wear a physical head covering, then it stands to reason that under OTHER conditions a woman should be able NOT to wear one. For example, if you are going to argue that a woman ought to wear a veil because the Bible claims there are two conditions, then it is logical to presume that any other condition would ALLOW them to be without one, like speaking in tongues, interpreting tongues, healing the sick, casting out devils, etc.
Now if a head covering promoter should claim that there are MORE conditions, then they admit that there aren’t really “two” conditions thereby nullifying the two-condition argument.
The reasoning behind why the “two-condition” argument is important for veil promoters is because if these words were actual conditions, then it would seem as though the covering were something that can be placed on or taken off. So even though it does not literally or EXPLICITLY say anything about putting on or taking off a veil. Veil promotors form this belief based on what they believe to be IMPLIED and not by a direct statement. Many people like to believe this because they ASSUME that praying and prophesying are two conditions instead of seeing them as mere examples.
    * Praying and prophesying were meant to be viewed as examples, not conditions…
Now I can understand how someone can mistakenly conclude praying and prophesying as conditions in verse 5, on the surface, but once you read the rest of the verses in context one cannot reach that conclusion. For example, if the strongest argument is because there were conditions for women to wear veils because of verse 5 then why don’t we hear the same thing spoken of about men in verse 4?
“Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.”
Normally we do not hear the argument that men ought not to have their heads covered exclusively under two conditions as we hear for women as to why they should. I think it is because that would imply that they CAN have their heads covered under other circumstances like the examples I mentioned before as in speaking in tongues, interpreting tongues, healing the sick, casting out devils, etc. But I suspect a veil promoter would not go along with this. Then there is verse 7:
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.”
So, there seems to be ANOTHER reason for men not to cover. Therefore, if the reason for men not to cover their heads in this verse is because he is the “image and glory of God,” then why even mention praying or prophesying in verse 4? Should a man not be covered under ANY condition since verse 7 overrides any supposed conditions? Shouldn’t that make you question that perhaps Paul was just giving a couple of examples? Verses 4 and 5 are basically the same except for whom they are directed yet when one hears the arguments by veil promoters it is typically about how verse 5 is conditional for women yet for men in verse 4 it is usually not spoken of. Again, isn’t it more likely that Paul was using the words praying and prophesying as examples in both verses?
We can also get a sense that Paul was referring to praying and prophesying as examples if we read verse 13 when it only mentions the word praying and NOT prophesying.
“Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?”
If there were only two exclusive conditions, then why would he leave out prophesying? We can’t say he got tired in his writing as he mentioned both words in verses 4 and 5. So, what can we say about this? Just that Paul was giving us a couple of examples of how doing something HOLY or GODLY does not give a pleasant appearance if the woman is uncovered, meaning not covered in long hair and the same goes for men when their heads are covered in long hair since that is exactly one is supposed to understand when reading verse 14.
    * So Is the Covering Long Hair or a Veil? …..
If we examine all the verses from verses 4 to 15 without bias, we should at least agree that at certain points the verses are referring to physical heads and hair. In that case, what we should be asking when mentioning the words “covered,” “cover,” “uncovered” and “covering” is: Are they referring to long or short hair or some kind of foreign object that goes on the head? Some will even say all the above, but if we carefully examine verse 15 we would be getting a clearer picture of what was being referred to in the earlier verses when it mentions these words.
“But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her FOR a covering." KJV
So if the covering is long hair, then the words “covered” or “cover” (which are synonymous with “covering”) should be understood as long hair as well. If that’s true, then to be “uncovered” would mean “short hair.” If so, then we can get a better picture of verse 4 when it says that it is shameful or dishonorable for a man to pray or prophesy with his head “covered.” Note the similarity of verse 4 to verse 14 that’s because they are both referring to being covered in LONG hair.

      * The “Head Covering Journey or Testimony” Obsession….
Within the realm of this misinterpretation, one can find that there exists an OBSESSION to speak about this topic incessantly. Evidence of this can easily be found online from various individuals who have made videos on head coverings. Many times, it’s the same person who makes more than one video on the subject. Going so far as to elevate it as though they were on some “journey” (as they call it) or that there is some kind of “testimony” to share, even though there is no scriptural reason to regard it this way. Let me be clear, there is NO SCRIPTURAL reason to ever think that 1st Corinthians 11 propitiates this level of attention or “sacredness” towards fabric head coverings. Whether you think the head covering is a veil or hair the Bible does not give allowance to obsess or talk about this subject in such an extreme manner. Typically, proponents of wearing veils are those who will act somewhat mystical by over-emphasizing it as though this were one of the most important topics of the entire Bible. Such people often repeatedly state in a very stubborn manner that they don’t care what others think and that they take any negativity as a badge of honor. They often refuse to listen to any biblical soundness because they have already convinced that what they are doing is right. In short, they basically close themselves off from any reasonable debate or discussion and oftentimes invoke the devil as the reason why others would want them to know that they do not need to wear a head covering. When in fact I believe God is trying to help them understand that the Bible is refering to long hair and not veils.
Such persons often mention how they FEEL, that they are somehow CLOSER to God by SIMPLY WEARING A VEIL, which is akin to those who believe that an inanimate object holds some kind of power like a talisman. Such dedication is like unto Catholics who say the exact same things regarding a scapula, crucifix, rosary, or prayer card. For the most part, their unwavering attachment to this is based more on EMOTION rather than something biblical. I’ve even read how some claim that wearing it at night stopped their nightmares or pains, which I don’t doubt because for some (not all) their minds can be easily influenced to believe anything they want it to believe. Just like those who follow very false gospels who swear that some amulet or religious artifact helped in some way.
I’ve noted that many people who leave comments on UA-cam videos on this topic repeatedly speak about how God or the Holy Ghost “convicted” them of wearing a veil. It’s never usually about how the Bible convinced them, but rather some kind of spiritual or religious experience brought them to believe that they ought to wear a veil. This line of thinking can be very dangerous because if the experience does not line up with the Scriptures, then the alternative is an experience one is creating in their own mind or at worst something demonic in nature.
For those who create videos, it’s gotten so that some will constantly and needlessly point to this topic in any way, shape, or form, from why they wear it, to how to wear it, to how they feel about it or how it has affected others, and so on. With all due respect, this is truly ridiculous. It is evident that for some this has become a form of fanatical extremism. Not unlike those who repeatedly talk about the Sabbath like the Seventh-Day Adventists or any other religion that over-focuses on one area of the Bible.
Can you imagine that instead of focusing on the gospel they put more effort and concentration on something written briefly in one chapter of the whole Bible and on top of that misinterpreting it? The evidence is in the videos they make over and over on this ONE subject. This is a form of IDOLATRY. What’s even worse are those who claim that God TOLD them or LED them to put a hat, cap, or veil on their heads. If this is you, then I implore you to reconsider by reading the scriptures I have shared. It’s never too late to get it right.

Some women like to wear a headband, cap, hat or even a hair tie that contains the Ten Commandments in order to obey Deut. 6:8-9. Because it says it is for the children and not just men or women. It normally doesn't cover all the hair as Paul describes.
Those coverings are come to be known as the armour of God. There are eight pieces that many are seaching for. There is the head, both hands, the belt, breastplate, heart and feet. Exactly what are they, what do they contain? Jesus tells us that if we love Him to keep His words for they are spirit and they are life, Maybe that is the spirit we are to walk in. We just need more work and workers.
God grafted Christians into Israel so the O.T. wasn't just given to the Jews but Christian as well. Those commands God gives to His children is for all who believes in Jesus. The O.T. is our school master just as the Prophets and N.T.. ALL scripture is inspired.

I don’t think it has to be that exact style. I think it can resemble more like our European ancestors head coverings like the Amish bonnet or a large triangle head scarf tied either under the chin or nape of neck. Not for a fashion statement but more because that is what looks best on European type faces and complexion. Head coverings aren’t about “how ugly can I make myself for God”.. just like a woman shouldn’t wear a man’s clothes because it doesn’t suit her it’s the same with different ethnicities. I think it’s fine to wear clothes that best suit your form and color. Otherwise why not just wear a sheet over your body? No, we instead cut and sew the fabric for form shape and add color.

But after much studying of this, I have fallen in love with them.
A covering is a symbol of your heart to God and a massive testimony in our culture today.
So to put it simply for Gody woman, Us Men who Love Christ, Find your covering beautiful.
It not about power as culture says us men want or to suppress woman, it about seeing the heart displayed on the outward body.
That's why men should where long sleeve shirts and never take them off in public, for its the same thing. A symbol of keeping your body for God and your wife.
Hold on fast sister, you will be attacked by many seeing the devil has twisted this culture backwards and upside down.

it was the tradition and custon and culture of those times. nothing else
in 1 pet 3 we read about women coming to the church meetings with plaited hair so women did not cover the hair.
thirdly, the Bible says that everything has to be gounded on at least TWO witnesses. there is only ONE place in the Bible where you read about the head covering and that is also not very clear since we read in the very passage that the hair of women is their covering.
in the new testament we dont follow the traditions of old. we follow Lord Yeshu who set us free from the external things. now the reality is Christ Himself. not the things on the outside
those who wear head coverings rely on the Flesh which is SIN and that is the WRONG REBELLION... thats bondage to sin...

I've been drawn to wearing a headcovering for a long time. For many years I too thought it was soley for Muslim Women. Once God called me back Him, and I started reading the Bible, I was delighted to learn that's not true. I've been trying to mostly wear head coverings on a regular basis when I'm out in public. It's usually one of those triangle things or a long rectangular piece of cloth for a head covering. They still show the hair from the back.

I want to be a godly woman, godly mother, godly wife and to have a godly marriage. To be a warrior for God. Thank you for your video. I am new to your channel and can't wait to explore all your other videos. As a Christian woman i feel like God is telling me something. I have already got a veil. I put it on one time in the bathroom where no one could see me put it on. I feel like this is one of God's commandments i should be doing. That is just one commitment that i would like to keep sacred that i have not broken. I got saved as a child and when i became a teenager i left being a Christian to explore the world. I has a traumatic experience that left me not want to be where i was at; even though i still claim to have God in my heart. Now that i have found Jesus again i feel like my duty is to be what God is calling me to be. What should i do and can you help me.

3:10 The UA-cam algorithm is not based only on what you watch on UA-cam. It can be anything you searched for on the internet...if Google can see your online activities, it can affect what UA-cam shows you. So even if you read the Bible verse from I Corinthians 11 online, that explains the video popping up. Even if you talked aloud about head coverings near your device, that can help UA-cam decide what to show you. So I wouldn't necessarily take a UA-cam recommendation as a sign from God. Can God use UA-cam to show us things? Of course! But if you are basing what gets shown to you on UA-cam only on what you have previously watched on UA-cam, you don't have the full picture of how the UA-cam algorithm works.

I've been seeing more and more videos of different people's testimonies of how they started covering their heads and I can't help but wonder what God is doing in all of this. I've been covering my head since about 14 years old and I'm 26 now and have no doubt that God intended for a womens head to be covered. It just makes so much sense in every way. I just wanted to say you're such an encouragement to me (even though ive been doing it for years) and also I'm sure many others out there who maybe have been convicted of covering but don't know where to start and are just scared to be seen with one on. It's so refreshing to see other young people so on fire for serving God with their whole heart and not just picking and choosing which of God's commandments they want to follow. I know its probably not easy getting on here and sharing these videos but God will bless you richly for doing so and sharing your experiences and convictions so that others may be encouraged to do the same.
