Hey Danie! I loved the video. I "solo traveled" for 6 weeks through Vietnam when I was 20. I bought a motorbike and went North to South and I've dreamed of going back since. I hope you make more vids about your life there!
That’s amazing! I never did the north to south trek, but it seems like such an epic adventure! I will definitely make more!
Im sure your living in the apartment block my brother lived in haha awesome
How old are you now ?
I immediately recognized the area from my own travels through Vietnam when you showed your view from your apartment, and that felt so cool! But then you got to Tom's Cafe and then I really lost my mind! I feel like I'm there all over again watching your video. Keep up the adventures!
It's the most special city!
Aaaaahh!!! I loooooved this video! I loved watching your routine and you showed us so much of Hanoi! I could have binged watched a full day of vlogs like this from you. Thank you!
Ahhh I’m so happy you enjoyed it! I had over 1.5 hours of video but I cut it down A LOT 😂
Nice vid and food, thanks for sharing and best of lucks!
Thanks so much! I hope your enjoyed it!
I really love foreign friends coming to Vietnam
❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was awesome! I was wondering what your life is like there!
It’s definitely quite different than life in the USA for the past two years!
Love your channel. Please do more videos about Vietnam.
I will! :D
Seeing this was so fun!!! I cannot wait to work with you Dani. You are very sweet and kind. Take care, Darlia
Thank you!!!

You Seem So Down To Earth To Me. Really Enjoyed Video
Thanks so much for watching!
when back to vietnam
Danie you are adorable and so are your parents 😊
First time viewer. You are living such a joyous life. I would love to visit Vietnam again since they have lifted the visa requirements. What kind of work do you do?
I have previously taught English online to students that live in Hanoi! Wonderful students- I miss them!! Seems like an amazing place. How long have you been living there? Have you visited the railway that goes in between buildings? I heard they have cafes right along the tracks!
Yes! I recently went to the railway cafes! It's super cool there! I lived here for 3 years on and off before 2020!
exactly the video I was looking for!! Thanks
I'm so glad! ❤️
@@DanieJay will be moving there in the next 2-3months if all goes well =)
Great video! I’ve always enjoyed trips to Vietnam!
It’s such a wonderful country!
Really enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing. Take care.
This was awesome! I would watch more! I love the presentation of what you filmed and what you showed us! Thank you Dani! Also, sorry for your loss. Hope all is well 🙏🏻
Thanks Mike! ❤️
love your videos and interactions in Vietnam. What would you know about the outskirts of the city? Safety, speaking english etc. Im surprised how cheap the food is out there! seems like you can get a full meal for under $3 and all looks healthy!
Wow, that's a cool gym. Almost like a zen temple.
I know! It's such a relaxing atmosphere
Such a sick vlog Danie!
Thanks Cassie!!!
So fun! Thanks for sharing with us. =D
Thanks for watching!! Hope you enjoyed it!
Hi we were discussing the pricing for the mentorship; I hadn’t heard back
Yes!, I'm so sorry. Let me check my Dms again!
I just discovered your video of my country. I subscribed immediately to follow your adventures. I am Vietnamese who lives in Canada 🇨🇦. I am interested to know foreigners activities in Vietnam 🇻🇳. There are some Americans who live there from the north to the south. Some young Americans can speak Vietnamese. They mixed with the locals and enjoyed their lives there. Thank you for sharing this video. Take care and stay safe !
Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes I speak a bit of Vietnamese…but it’s gotten worse being gone for two years when 2020 hit. I’ll definitely be doing more vlogs!
Vietnam is such an amazing country ! I want to move there so badly lol
great view: 1000s motorbikes crossing per hour, sidewalks full of parked bikes.
I was born in Hanoi and my family move to nyc when I was 9….I hope one day I will move back and live in Hanoi again.
Your Vietnamese is really good! Keep up the excellent work. And I hope you will find your Viet prince soon since you're such a sweet princess ;-D
Thanks so much! I used to have a Vietnamese tutor, so that really helped me improve...but the pronunciation is often still hard for me. ❤️
@@DanieJay Cô thật là tuyệt vời🥰😉
You’re totally 💯% awesome 🤩
great video! im planning to teach english in vietnam after graduation :) how much per month is your gym membership?
The food looks soooooo goood!!!!
It’s SOOO GOOOD!
Are you there for work? Temporary living right? Cause i would expect ones to buy motor bikes etcc if you decide to live there forever and on your product at home seems temporary
Yes, temporary. I come and go, so I always rent. :D
Loved this!
Ahh! Thanks for watching Roonie!
Hey Danie! Really enjoyed the vlog! I wanted to ask how you found your apartment & going about renting as an expat :)
Hey! So for me, I used a realtor's website and then asked if they could text the owner and make a deal for a shorter term rental. BUT in the post, I've always used facebook groups, like Hanoi Massive Housing.
So what do you do there in Vietnam? What type of visa do you have there? Just curious. I used to live and work in Shanghai a few years ago
Welcome to Vietnam!
Hanoi Vietnam is amazing.
Hey Danie 👋 Been following you for a year or so now. Cool to see you made it to 'Nam. I've been living here for 4+ years. Hanoi's a good choice. Are you getting a job here so you can stay or just traveling? Stay safe on the road
Many Thanks !
Have Fun !
👍🏽👍🏼👍🏽🙏🏼🌿
I can say that this is my best video for today..... thanks for the uploads.... liked !!//
This country seems amazing
Cool! I didn't know that you live in Vietnam) I also live in Vietnam(Hoi An), and I found your channel just few day ago, and I find your tips on shorts are very useful! Thanks a bunch! P.S. If you will be in Da Nang/Hoi An, feel free to contact me, and we can have a lunch or something)
Awesome vid!
Thanks so much for watching!
You are so good at traveling alone .
It can be lonely sometimes, but it's worth it.
Vn is the 2nd biggest coffee exporter behind brazil, so u will be in the coffee shop all day.
love love love the coffee here!
Great video😜👍🏼
Thank you! :D
Thank you for a nice video you made. I really like it.
Thanks so much for watching!
Cá Koi nhìn đẹp quá ♥️ Hà Nội nhiều cảnh đẹp quá tuyệt vời 👍 cảm ơn bạn đã chia sẻ video hay và thú vị.chúc bạn sức khỏe an lành và tràn đầy hạnh phúc ♥️🌹🤝💐♥️
So interesting. I love ❤️ Vietnam. But I’ve been in Taiwan and it’s unbelievable how there’s almost no theft here. People leave their helmets sitting on bikes all the time and not locked up
Oh that is amazing! Yes helmets and mirrors get stolen all the time…most people drive with no mirrors because they get stolen so often. Thankfully I have both of mine still 😂
Donnie Jay again. What's up!! I'm planning to teach English there after the new year. In your opinion, do you know a good way to start learning some Vietnamese? So far I've only tried dualingo. Any ideas?
Yes! Join an expat FB group and ask for recommendations for a tutor! It's better to get a tutor in person!
Thanks for your sharing, I think you can rent a different type of motorcycle with bigger built-in storage unit for your helmet and other stuffs/belongings. They will cost a little bit more rental fee though.
I like the smaller, speedy bikes 😂
Great one👍👍👍 ciao from italia 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Ciao 🇮🇹 ≈ Chao 🇻🇳 👋
Ciao!!
That Phở corner looks farmiliar. Its near Dang Thai Mai street if I remember correctly.
Yes! exactly!
Any recommendations for the wifi in places like this? Teaching can sometimes be a struggle with their wifi. Do you know of anything that can help with wifi? :)
Yes, get a SIM card (with Vietell) and use the mobile hotspot as a backup when you need it.
You are living the life that many of us would love to trade places with you :) Thank you for sharing!
I am going to Vietnam with top deck soon, I’m from New Zealand. It’s amazing to see what it is like living there. Food in NZD would be 20-50 cents. Seems many people can speak English?
I would love to visit there some day to
Most of us can speak English, mainly people born in 198x, 199x, 2k generation… Dont worry! 🤔
Awesome!
Welcome to Vietnam
Great video. What do you do there for work? How long have you lived there?
I'm visiting for a month. Are there tips you'd care to share? Ive never been so a little anxious. I want to be somewhere more in nature than the city city
I like your channel
Ohh thank you so much!
They got any squat racks, bench press etc?
Great video!!
Thank you!!
Omg I just moved to Hanoi too maybe we can hang out sometimes hahah :p
Ohhh welcome!!!!
Sounds like your rent is a lot cheaper than what I paid in Shanghai, but Shanghai and Beijing can be a bit expensive compared to other Chinese cities.i'm in Cal USA now
Yes, Vietnam is definitely cheaper than China. At least in the cities for sure! Is there still crazy lockdown in China? Glad you’re back in the states and not stuck inside an apartment!
@@DanieJay Lockdowns are still going on in Shanghai and Beijing and other Chinese cities from what I read and hear from friends living in China still. I'm very glad too that I didn't get stuck or locked in my home and not even able to go out for exercise outside. From what I've been reading and seeing on UA-cam in China life is beyond Gov control Food is hard to come by there and I can't imagine if I needed to see a dentist during lockdowns
@@DanieJay So, how long have you lived in Vietnam and are masks required everywhere there? You're from US, right? On a work or tourist visa? Just curious. I was on a tourist visa first when I arrived in Shanghai 12 years ago and then got a working visa. Was an English teacher/trainer there and part time actor too..Did a lot of crazy things and life there wasn't too bad. Made a lot of friends and saw a lot of places there too. Lived in city center not far from The Bund and People;s Square areas.
have the good times in VietNam Danie
Tay ho dist is also where i live, i take my kids to Pho Bay every week... Pls enjoy the time in Hanoi
Ohh what are your other favorite restaurants in tay ho?!
@@DanieJay you may want to try Bun cha which is close by the Syrena tower on Xuan Dieu st, not far from Pho bay...;)
$35 a month for the motor bike. Good deal. I always get a motorcycle in Vietnam but I’ve always been paying tourists prices. It’s ok
Ohh yeah you gotta rent from more local spots! They can be harder to find though for sure! I rent from Minhs Motorbikes. I’ve always had a good experience with them. They are a bit far from the tourist areas tho, so you’d need to take a taxi to get there.
You said it pretty fast so I couldn't hear.. something about wemhof breathing? what is this?
Are there any restrictions to rent/buy a property on any specific visa? I’m currently going through college to get my Bachelor’s, and I’m almost finished with my TEFL/TESOL course. I plan on teaching remotely until I finish my degree, then plan to apply directly to schools afterwards. In the meantime, I’ve dreamed of moving to Vietnam, and would like to stay as long as possible. What sort of hiccups have you had to deal with as an expat living in Vietnam? Thank you for your time!
I should clarify, teaching remotely in countries that don’t require a bachelors, while living in Vietnam and attending university online.
hha you did the right way to keep your helmet. You're look like vietnamese
😂😂😂 I learned from my Vietnamese friends!
Hi Danie! Very nice video - thanks for sharing you experience. We just spend a whole week in Hanoi - Tay Ho - trying to find an apartment. We found the process quite hard, only 1 year contract or $1000+/month 2 bedrooms, or apartments in middle of a construction zone (neighbouring house demolished ready to for build project...) I feel that it has to be much easier to find something interesting - we are most probably missing something as far as the apartment hunt process... My wife is Vietnamese and still receives USD offers (go figure) that feels much inflated... Any tips on how to find good apartments at local price? I don't think the average person is interested in 30Mil dong/month rent? Thanks in advance for any tips you can share! Cheers -Denis
Yes! Use Facebook groups to find short-term rentals! Hanoi Massive Housing is one FB group that's good. Sorry for the delay in response!!
Do you need a special license to ride a motorbike (not a motorcycle)? Or would an international drivers license be fine?
To rent or not to rent! Renting a scooter for $35/month (about 1 buck/day) is ... dirt cheap! What can we buy with $1 nowadays? I guess a dollar can stretch farther only in Vietnam!
Yes! Super cheap to rent a bike here! A dollar definitely goes far!
Makes me want to visit Hanoi! What a cool place!
Come visit!!!!
Ha Long, Da Nang are more beautiful, Hanoi is more ancient, Ho Chi Minh city is more vibrant
Hey cool video. So your expat digital nomad or retired ? Hmmmmm. Besides Vietnam being cheapest country to live, what draw you to this country?? I'm plan move to Phillipines in few yrs, early retire NYC usa
Welcome to Vietnam
Thanks so much!!
lovely chanel...go ahead!
thank you! ❤️
How much is the Fitness Village membership?!:)
Hey! I realize i forgot to mention that! It varies in price depending on how long a membership you get! A month month plan is about 50USD and it gets less expensive if you get a longer membership. facebook.com/thefitnessvillage/photos/7386131838124029
What water did you say you love??
Travel joemark Cambronero in hanoi welcome there.
How was the whole covid thing there was it bad or what?
Thank you ❤
Love it 😍🇺🇸👍
thanks for watching!
Xin chào từ Việt Nam
What kind of breathing do you do.
delicious food !!!
Good video
Vietnam xin chào bạn tôi rất tốt 🇻🇳🙏🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️
I’m allergic to animal hair and all. Can’t keep pets😢 I’m worried about this😅
How are you able to stay in Vietnam long term? Visa wise I mean
Right now it's really difficult to get a business visa. Pre-2020 you used to be able to get a 1-year multi-entry visa for pretty cheap, but now you can't. Your best bet is to come on a 1-month tourist visa and then try to get a job (there are many teaching jobs) that will sponsor you for an extended visa. You'd have to do a visa run after that first month is up but then could come back for longer. You can do a visa run in a day.
@@DanieJay I already have a full time remote
job 😔 plus don’t have a degree to qualify for legit teaching jobs in Vietnam
Your awesome 👏
Thanks for watching!!
Was that "The Fitness Village" or I was wrong
yes, it was! :D
Please tell me how I can enter Vietnam right now. If I don‘t have an international card, how can I get my visa? I also could see on the link that I need to have an exit flight. Is it really necessary for those who will be staying only for a month, or even for those who plan to renew their visa? And regarding renewing it, is it also possible to do it online? Please help me; I have been waiting for my trip for so long since I volunteered there, and now I am a bit anxious for that. Thank you very much!
I believe getting and renewing Visa is pretty easy, and its border is open now
@@hungthuynh402 Do you think the borders will be open for a long time considering the current situation in the world?
@@hungthuynh402 Unfortunately I think that with monkeypox they will pretty soon close the borders in order to increase control over people... Oh, my God!... I would love so much to go back to Vietnam and settle down there!...
I miss VN
Nothing quite like Hanoi! :D
I’m left VN since I was 14 and never been to ha Nahoi. Planning to go this summer but tickets so expensive.
I love Pho I can eat that everyday anyway the cost of living is so high here now days in Canada I want to move to southeast Asia so bad I wish I had a job that is over the internet that way can make good money while living affordable there. My best friend is originally from Laos and he is thinking about going back but he has his kids here but they are all grown but I told him if he is going to let me know because I am ready for a change.
Very nice❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Do you still live in Vietnam?
nice !!
thank you!
@@DanieJay I have been in Hanoi last week and checked out the West lake area. It is quite cool there.
Hello, can I ask how to rent a motobike in Hanoi?
There are many places. I rent from Minh's Motorbikes. There's also Rentabike (a little more expensive). You need to leave a deposit to get a bike. Usually it's about 80USD. I've always gotten mine back.
Hello Danie, are u a vegetarian? I'm a Vietnamease, I'd love seeing u reviewing vegan foods in Hanoi so that I can come to there when I'm in Hanoi.
I am a vegetarian! I will definitely have to make a video like this in the future! Thank you!
