Appreciate the correction. We visited the Nagasaki Museum in Japan. All was presented from the perspective of the US and Britain attack. Leaving out the Japanese bombing of Peatl Harbor, which those of us who know history precipitated the atom bomb. Now, Japan, I have heard, has vowed to never speak of their bombing of Pearl Harbor due to shame. However, younger people, who are nit taught the full story grow up with the thought that the Atom Bomb (while horrible) was unprovoked. This is a flaw in changing history, modifying stories, and losing written (books not online), accounts. Paper books FOR THE WIN!

Hi Matt and Nat, I love your videos and really liked this one about Hanoi. I've always wanted to go there. However, I was very disappointed you fell for the Vietnamese propaganda about the Hanoi Hilton. In no way were the American prisoners treated humanely. They were routinely tortured and deprived of food and other basic necessities. It was not a "hotel" and only referred to as the Hanoi Hilton sarcastically. The photos in the video were staged for propaganda reasons. Starvation and isolation were constant. Senator McCain eventually forgave his captors but he was horribly mistreated.

@@AdventuresofMattandNat In Vietnam, it's normal to drink water while eating. When I was younger, my mom used to advise me not to drink water during meals at home, but when dining out, it's generally accepted. If there's a drink option on the restaurant's menu, you can order it if you like; typically, it will be iced tea, a light and refreshing drink. Thanks for watching! And we appreciate your input. Choosing not to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum had nothing to do with monetization. This video is monetized with or without that experience. Our reason for choosing not to go was because we place great emphasis on bringing as much value to our viewers as possible (doing, seeing, and eating as much as possible) and spending 2-3 hours of our day doing something that we' couldn't film would have been a poor use of our time and ultimately taken away from the value of the video. We definitely hope to return and visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum when we have more time and aren't filming. Thanks again for watching!
I seriously cannot believe you portrayed "The Hanoi Hilton" as basically a resort for our American POW's. Have you ever heard of the word propoganda? Our men were tortured for years there. It was hell for our Men imprisoned there. Please do your research.
Hey Robert! First off, thank you for watching. Second, thank you for bringing this to our attention. In your tour of the “Hanoi Hilton” you make it sound like some sort of resort for American prisoners. As a 2nd Generation Marine Corps Infantry Veteran I cannot even begin to explain how insulting this is to veterans. John McCain and all other American Prisoners of War WERE BRUTALLY TORTURED THERE and you make it sound like a vacation place. Maybe you should read a little history about the places you visit before making incredibly uneducated comments about something you obviously know nothing about. My father and all of my uncles fought in Vietnam. You have disgraced the honor of Vietnam Veterans and POW’s with these comments. This is not ok.
Hi Aaron. Please read our pinned comment regarding this. We were just going on what the museum portrayed. We now know that it was propaganda and not historically accurate. Thanks for watching and thanks for your service. We both have close family who fought in Vietnam and some that are still in service, and we are so incredibly grateful for those who sacrifice their lives for our freedom.
Really?? Maybe you just had some bad Pho? I've had some in the US that had so much cilantro in it that it was all I could taste, and I'm not a huge cilantro fan. Either way, it's not for everyone! Thanks for watching!🥰

Can't monetize the CORPSE of Ho Chi Minh? Meh, skip. I like you guys but that's a bad take, should have just experienced it to experience it.
We were unaware of the full story on this and naively believed what was being told to us by the Hoa Lo Prison Museum to be historically accurate. After yours and others' comments and doing some of our own research, we now realize we were wrong in believing this. The museum did a convincing job of portraying a much different story from the truth and we apologize for sharing any false information. Thank you again for watching and for helping us improve! -Matt
I think Pho is gross I tried it once took one bite and couldn't do it. Tasted like dirty dish water
Really?? Maybe you just had some bad Pho? I've had some in the US that had so much cilantro in it that it was all I could taste, and I'm not a huge cilantro fan. Either way, it's not for everyone! Thanks for watching!🥰
Wish you well, lost me on the traitor Obama!
It’s a bowl of Bun Cha, not a political issue.👋🏼
I'm Vietnamese right here....Nat pronounced it correctly @4:31 (the 1st attempt). It's written with the tone marker going up diagonally from left to right on top of the letter -o. And I just subbed to your channel!!

19:00 You can eat it as is, or dip it into the broth of Bún Chả, which will make it more flavorful and delicious.
