I LOVE your disclaimer about the post office. I once had to pick up several large boxes of live feeder crickets from the post office, and the staff were very relieved to be rid of the boxes that chirped and made shuffling noises!
I had to pick up one of my ball pythons from the FedEx shipment center and I was a little worried they'd be freaked out. When I got there, the woman at the front desk said one of the other employees was talking to Ollie the whole time, trying to comfort him lol She was a fellow reptile/snake lover and didn't want him to be scared. It was so sweet. She knew it probably wouldn't help, but said it was worth a try 😂😂😂
I work for a shipping company, and I can assure you that whenever I personally see arrows I will maintain that orientation or fix it if it tipped over at any point. I can't speak for everyone, but I know I do it :)
I just got a western hognose Sunday she is so pretty I love your hognose videos and they inspired me to get one love you and your snakes❤️ question is it normal for them to stay under the substrate all day ?
Cecia Dobrev this was a long time ago. I spoke with someone that knows a lot about bearded dragons and what to feed them. Now he is healthy little beardie.I feed him once a day with veggies, fruit, melons, squash and once every two days with Crickets. When I commented that it was the first day I got him. Tnx for looking out but that was a bit rude.
The thumbnail always makes me laugh on this video! I don't even have snakes (YET,I want a western hognose) and I find myself watching and rewatching all these videos!
I dont know if you know about them, but if you do alot of styrofoam stuff, you can make a styroslicer, it melts the styrofoam so you dont have to deal with the mess of cut styro
I'm a old subscriber but I used to watch u all the time then I had to reset my tablet and I just forgot about this channel but then maybe a year or 2 I found it again and when I seen that old intro I was like oh yea thats the good stuff lol
I got my ball python in late March, it was pretty cold outside. He was shipped in a kinda large styrofoam box and inside was a little plastic box with 2 heat packs (one on the lid and one on the side) and a bunch of newspaper around it. But when I opened the box, I found him, outside of his container, cuddled up against one of the heatpacks, I got a little shock seeing him right there, but it was really cute xD Turned out the plastic box was just a bit too small and my breeder forgot to add rubberbands.
Hi! I got a male western hognose on Sunday and am wondering if it's normal for him to hangout outside of his warm hide just curled up? He does use his hide though and burrow around but he's been hanging out outside his hide for about an hour now.
That's normal! They'll find random spots around the enclosure to hang out. My adult bullsnake, Brad, will sit right in front and stare me down when she's hungry :P Just in case, double-check the temperature in the hide to make sure it's not too hot. If he spends ALL of his time outside of his warm area, then it's probably a bit too warm for him.
Snake Discovery ok thank you so much for the quick reply!! His warm spot based on my digital thermometer is about 90 degrees. Also I fed him the day after getting him because that was the normal day the breeder fed him on and he ate just fine, but then I read afterwards that you should wait to attempt feeding a new snake for about a week. Since I already successfully fed him though should I just continue on the normal schedule?
90 degrees is perfect! And yes I would just continue with his normal schedule. It's only recommended to wait a week because they often just don't want to eat until then. But if he ate for you, that's great!
Nice. I guess you just need to be carfull if air-shipping. Even it it is hot here and there, it is cold during flight. A good isolation is needed. Glad to hear the snake arrived in a good shape. Hope it will feel good by his owners.
Hey! You have convinced me to get an Egg Eating Snake! I seen your video, just curious how often should I feed them, is it once a week like a normal snake or more?
Egg-eaters will go a length of time without eating, and then purge and eat several eggs in one night. I recommend giving babies 1 finch egg weekly, and just always keep a few eggs in an adult's enclosure and they'll eat when they're ready.
Please do more research before buying any snake especially about feeding them!!! Ahhh I cringe when people say HEY JUST BOUGHT A SNAKE BUT DONT KNOW WHAT TO FEED IT OR WHERE TO PUT IT 😭😩 Not saying ur comment was like that but pls do more research before hand and when u so I’m sure you’ll have so much fun with them!!!!
Adriana Bradford well if he got the snake, he probably knows how and what to feed it, but he might have wanted to get an expert’s insight (note: I’m not trying to be rude)
@@laartje24 Well, it's kind of a big deal. They blurred out their phone number because of weirdos, I'm sure Tara didn't want her address all over the internet. Mistakes happen, but acting like they shouldn't be pointed out is kind of ridiculous. I'm sure Emily didn't even realize it was viewable, so there's nothing wrong with trying to bring it to her attention.
hi Emily and ed! I love your guys Channel and I enjoy watching all day. I watched this video so I can ship a reptile of my own. in fact the reptile I am shipping is to you if I can get it to you. she is a wild caught normal garter but I can't get her to eat and she is skinny if I am being honest. but if I do send her I know she is going into AMAZING hands, love you guys keep doing what you are doing. p.s. you guys are my favorite youtubers ever! also please reply to me I've always wanted to be noticed by u guys! -Anaia s.
Hello! Not sure where you live but it actually isn't required to put the name on the side (p sure you're in the US anyway), but it is required to state that there is a perishable item inside (most people do this with the live harmless reptile boxes). By stating the name of the animal on the side, it is more likely to be stolen within the industry (depending on who, where, how much the animal is worth, and what the reptile is). But just thought id throw this out there, although you should do your research depending on where you live and the rules and requirements :)
I'm in the US :) The most recent rule, according to the Fish & Wildlife game warden who spoke at my local Herpetological Society last week, is to include the common, scientific, and whether the reptile is venomous or not, on the box. If someone told you otherwise I would let them know that they're using outdated laws :)
Snake Discovery haha I actually looked it up for FedEx, it is fairly new and it is required federally but in a few states it isnt required (there are like 5) :) Anyways i love your video and it is very informational. I have a hognose myself and they're wonderful to keep. Good luck!
asking for clarification as it came up in a few videos i haven't found an answer: obviously upon arrival especially if they're cold given the fact you generally want to check on the snake is alive within 15 minutes of arrival and check for mites etc and give it an initial health lookover but also give it time to acclimate so it doesn't go into shock: would you suggest picking up the snake for a short time to check on it BEFORE acclimating or acclimating to reduce shock-risk but then there being a delay for checking on the snake given the fact most sellers only give a 15min-1hr window guarantee of health?
Ive seen both this video and the transport video, I live in Canada where Temp goes to -20°C... so if I need to transport a snake in winter, do i use hand warmers and towels in an insulated bag?
That’s a lot to deal with. I had no idea online breeders had to deal with all that just to ship off their animals. That’s just 1 animal. I couldn’t imagine how much of a headache to have to redo that whole process for hundreds of animals that need to go out.
I know I'm super late and this question might sound stupid but is it possible to put a heat pack in to keep the snake warm and a cold pack to keep it cool, like put them in at the same time. I'm not shipping snakes but I am just interested

wait wrong ship?
Lol perfect explanation
*FURRY*
I thought about the same kind of ship XD
I mean, seeing as they’re animal breeders, I’m sure they know all about shipping reptiles that way, too.
I thought of that ship and I was like wth
I just got a western hognose Sunday she is so pretty I love your hognose videos and they inspired me to get one love you and your snakes❤️ question is it normal for them to stay under the substrate all day ?
Totally normal as they're a burrowing species :)
Snake Discovery hello I have a bearded dragon do you know if it is ok to feed them moths
Ty Urban google it
Wolf loves memes XD you shouldn’t own one if you don’t know it’s feeding requirements just saying.

I don't understand how the snake won't suffocate ? The holes seem to be too small to me.
Snakes require low oxygen so its enough
Not sure if the address was supposed to be revealed..
no duh!
@Yandere Chan No it was the address to where the snake was being shipped to. You could see the person's name "Tara" and her address . 6:21

I'm thinking of starting to breed Hondurans and leopard geckos! Thanks for the tips even though I'm late.
I'm still amazed that their oxygen requirements are so little that they can be shipped in a box.
Disturbingly low we learn in another video
@Snake Discovery just to be safe you might want to blur part of the screen when you get in the snake mobile
I bet the post office thinks Emily is the town's crazy snake lady 😭
Hey I was just wondering if you had a limit to how far you would ship a snake. For instance I live in Oregon, would that be too far?
No problem, I ship all over the US!
Snake Discovery what about to sa
Rachel Nicks yeah i have the same question cause i live in australia❔
I LIVE IN OREGON TO!
OMG where in Oregon?
I am in tuaillitan
I was wondering how you sell the snakes you breed? Do people just comment on your videos with an email for you to contact or do you have a website?
I ask the same thing.
She sells them on her Facebook :) of course when she has them for sale she doesn't right now
I'm watching because of the hognose snake at the beginning. It's so cute.
Awesome video. Thank you.
When shipping with FedEx do you need a permit to ship the reptiles? Or can you just walk in with the reptile in the package and mail it.
So I don’t ship animals cause I think it is better if someone picks them up in person, but this helps if I ever need to.
Hi. How can I ship my corn snakes from Europe Union to countries that are not in UE? I need to ship from Spain to Belarus
Great job now I know if I ever need too
hi!when I looked on the website their was no babies and their was only like 2 snakes.when will their be baby snakes for online?

Ive seen both this video and the transport video, I live in Canada where Temp goes to -20°C... so if I need to transport a snake in winter, do i use hand warmers and towels in an insulated bag?
Thank you for this information… how would you ship an adult green tree python on a plane?
That’s a lot to deal with. I had no idea online breeders had to deal with all that just to ship off their animals. That’s just 1 animal. I couldn’t imagine how much of a headache to have to redo that whole process for hundreds of animals that need to go out.
