I got a heart shaped Valentine's bowl that I melted a doorway into, so everytime I lift it up to find my Buddy, he is usually coiled in a heart shape 🥰😍 naturalizing it with styrofoam and grout then sealing it with non toxic matte finish really made it look awesome outside too!

I'm definitely on team cereal milk drinker. You just have to add a good ratio. I also like my cereal a bit soggy depending on the type so maybe take that into account.

Be VERY careful with those little ones with the handles, I had a bp get stuck in the handle and when he tried to back out he lost a bunch of scales. If you use them, cut the handles off.

I would recommend using fine sand paper on any smooth plastic before putting the silicone on to adhere anything to the bowls. The texture on the bowls before the adhesive will help the adhesive to stick to the bowls for longer. If it starts to peel I recommend pulling them immediately. Adhering anything to a smooth surface requires something to grip. Always use sand paper on the smooth surface before adhesive.

It's a Mexican Black Kingsnake, I believe. They're beginner-friendly and pretty popular. They're actually a little iridescent/holographic in some lights.
They can also be hella expensive. I'd put them more as a semi experienced snake for their price, food response and maybe even strength. Cause they strong bois.

I (successfully) keep and breed a trio of leopard geckos in a really big enclosure. There are 4 hiding boxes (currently just the little generic black ones), but what they really seem to enjoy is that I put artificial monstera leaves all around the top of their living area, like a canopy. They feel super secure because there are so many hiding places, and they like traveling around on the top of them when I put some mealworms up there. I feel like it's probably a somewhat natural sort of situation for them, despite everything being artifical and washable. They use the entire enclosure, and they get along extremely well because they have so many places to hide, and to dig. My Honduran milk snake also loves the monstera leaves. His cool hide is just a pile of them.
If you want to have the flowers stand straight up take a small plastic container, coat it with parchment paper, fill it with pebbles, put your flower stem in the middle, and fill with hot glue. You can then add a layer of bigger rocks around the top so it blends into the substrate better.
Not liking cereal milk is probably the most controversial content I've seen on this channel.
It should be a new Con-Sub episode... right alongside how to hang a roll of toilet paper.

Oh! The Sponge dishes are great for lizards though. My leopard gecko has 2 and I'll find her curled up like a dog inside them it's adorable. What's even better is one of them is a Christmas penguin Sponge holder and it's her favorite one so it's like she's getting into Christmas spirit having it around haha

Emily....just a tip for your eggs hun....put the eggs in the boiler, then the water, let it come to a boil and then start a timer (with them still boiling) for 7mins for a very yellow, mostly firm, but not dry yolk...or 10mins for completely hard boiled, rather light, somewhat dry yolk. I hope this helps in all future egg boilings lol

I don't like ceral milk. So I just don't eat ceral with milk. If I eat it I eat dry.
If you use the scissor method for making the entrance, I use some sand paper to make sure it’s smooth and safe. Then just rinse/wash it before you put it in your enclosure. Also I recommend using paper towel rolls, my snake lovesssss it. Also be sure to cut the bottom so that you don’t have to worry about your snake getting stuck. 😊

Emily, love your videos! Unsolicited advice for you....place eggs in pan and cover with water. Medium temp is fine. Heat until you have a rolling boil on high. Lower flame and cook for eight mins. Rinse in cold water. Shells wont even stick. 💖

The way I do it is to cut the entryway with an exacting knife and then I turn on my hot glue gun and run it over the edges of the entryway to get rid of any sharp edges :)

I have a tip if the dish is too smoot you can also use a hot glue to make a pattern you let it dry and then the snakes can rub against it to remove their skin also nice to have in a video

Using hot glue works but when you wash the dish, the water will eventually make the hot glue stop sticking.

My method for decorating hides is hot gluing river rocks (cleaned well, of course) all over the hide. Sanding the plastic before gluing can help them stick. It can be annoying to clean though
I was thinking of river rocks when I saw the sand! Yeah, probably a pain to clean but would definitely be super cool looking!

4" PVC drain caps are absolutely perfect for a water bowl in a rack setup. bulletproof, affordable, easy to clean and decently hard to knock over. avoid the round bottom ones. but the flat bottom ones are great.

During the summer, dollar tree gets coconut bras. You get two hatchling hides for $1. As I live in SW Florida, I am currently just cleaning out coconuts and making my own hides with real coconuts, but I am definitely tempted to buy some from dollar tree as well.

Egg boiling advice:
Set eggs out to get up to room temp ahead of time, start boiling your water and as it gets close add the eggs slowly with a spoon (so they don't hit the bottom too hard or splash water), let the pan get to a FULL BOIL, kill the heat and let them float around in the hot water for 15 min on the hot burner (stir a few times to rotate the side against the hot pan). Change into cool water with ice to stop cooking fast, should be at the start of a hard boil/end of a medium boil depending on your elevation (adjust as desired).
Doing the minimum cook like that at lower temps cooks it thoroughly without leeching a layer of sulfur to the outside of the yolk (making it kinda ugly and stinky) and makes it an even consistency instead of a tough exterior and generally overcooked egg.

edit edit: i bring the water to a boil first so that the amount of heat i distribute to the eggs is constant and that makes the timing highly accurate. it’s awful to practice tho because it is a vibe thing. If you leave the eggs to warm up to room temperature before you put them in it helps decrease the temperature drop as well. I like to put them in right before the water itself starts hard boiling (makes a lot of steam and is loud because all of the water at the surface really wants to be the next molecule to boil) because putting the eggs in (even a little chilly) brings the temperature right off the peak but still very hot for consistent heat distribution.)
