Such a beast if a bike! I have 33 hours on mine now. They are bulletproof. My 05 wr450f has 163 hours with no engine maintenance needed other than oil changes. The old gen yamis are the goat!!
Hell yeah! I geared mine 15/48 because it is road legal and I do ride streets, so I did take away some torque. But the front wheel still comes up with ease
@@frankiemarchese2978 that’s awesome! I want a smaller rear sprocket for mine because it tops out around 65 I want it to be a little quicker and I’d like to make it street legal
I got lucky and found a wr426f frame on ebay from AZ with a street title. I swapped frames and transferred the papers to Ny, worked perfectly. I got the bike for $1,000 not running but only needed a carb clean
Oh yeah I may never sell this bike. One of my favorites in the garage. What info specifically are you looking for? I know all about these 426’s. $200 is really cheap
They sound real nice stock and pretty damn loud too unlike the newer bikes. If you were to go aftermarket and can find one I would go with big gun like what I have, white bros, or old style fmf.
They are great bikes. Mine is powerful enough and tuned well without the hotcam. I also personally like having to use the decompression lever when starting it.
@@frankiemarchese2978How are you Frankie? I’ve had several 426’s in my time & I learnt how to start it 1st, or second kick. We call it the “ ritual “, pump the piston right to the top, press decomp lever, slowly kick it a quarter way down, let kickstart go all the way to the top again, release decomp lever, & give it a filthy o’l boot 🥾. Starts first, second kick every time. Enjoy the bike 🏍 mate, they’re still one of my fav’s.
Also, that’s pretty much how you ride a 426, you look comfortable on it 👍. Great bike’s, one of the best. Having 2 strokes all my life, the 426 was the first 4 stroke dirt bike that blew me away. I couldn’t believe it, the boy’s & I were baffled 😮. I know the 400 was the previous model, & was the first 4 stroke challenger, but for me, the 426 was the game changer.
what a machine!!!
Bikes a beast, but this guys rippin!! Good shlt bro
I love my 01 yz426f

This is NY. I haven’t rode my mtb at glacier ridge in years though
🔥🔥🔥🔥
May get a 426f soon any major issues to look for, how much hp do they have compared to a newer 250f or 450? Thanks!
No major issues that i know of. Im not sure of the hp but they absolutely haul ass and will put up a good fight against any of the newer bikes.
@@frankiemarchese2978 Yeah been looking for a bigger bike that’s cheaper than 450s so I may have found it. Thanks!
@@frankiemarchese2978any better pipes to get or are they super loud stock?

@@frankiemarchese2978 ok

@@frankiemarchese2978 same here it took me a while but now I can start it in about 4-5 tries lol. Maybe a tune is all it needs.
@@mauimart9827 Yeah depending on how long its been sitting mine usually takes 3-5 kicks from cold. But once warmed up its a 1 kick deal
