Labor of love, just be grateful you have that dirt bike even if it pissed you off
Very true!
Could be a bad water pump seal …if you’re lucky ….but yea, probably time to tear her down 😢
And ironically I waited a bit long to change the oil (9 hours) glad she didnt blow. I have a tusk water pump rebuild kit on the way 👍 I put an impeller shaft in it 60 hours ago, that should be fine. Its hopefully the inner seal
Shoot man what too for when getting one of these. I have a drz125 that I may trade . The YZ needs carb and a new tank at least that’s all the guy knows.
I would pass unless your drz needs work and is worth around $500. The yz doesnt even start so you wouldnt even be able to hear it mechanically. Not worth the risk imo
My guy keep that 426 sounding ride out player 🫡💯🤝🏾
Thank you
Wish i could find a riding place like this. What state is this in
NY
Yoo wtf I live right over here it been to cold to ride lol
@@Sean-tg1hxIts never too cold to ride lol what do you ride?
You the reason I rebuilt mine on soul that’s my prize possession You got the bike running good to fam 💯🫡
Thank you I’m glad! We gotta keep these gems alive, I feel the same with mine its my baby
Cool. I need to take my 426 out. It's been in the garage way too long.
What year?
@frankiemarchese2978 02
I got the same bike I just got it and im trying to fix the leaky carb and I’m just wondering if u have any tips for tuning the carb once I rebuild it your bike sounds like it runs good
Thanks! It runs 10/10. It depends on temp and elevation a bit, usually its good to go one size up on at least the pilot jet. Bikes tend to come a bit lean from the factory. I have one size up on both the pilot and main jet, fuel screw at around 2.5 turns out. Its crisp and will never bog when its under load or even in neutral. Starts 1 kick hot or cold also
Noisy old thing 😍🫶🏼
Dinosaurs aint quiet! LOL
I love it i have a yz450f 07 are thoose reliable? As the wr’s ? Just bought it today
Yeah they are as reliable as the wr’s as long as its been maintained properly. The 06-09 yz’s are a little more difficult to work on vs the 03-05 generation but not too bad.
Got the same 6 years love it, made me an engineer
Thats awesome. How much schooling did you go through? I got mine 6 years ago too
Sounds killer man! I just recently posted my 400 up for sale. I’m really wanting a 450 and the 400 just isn’t giving me enough
Theyre heavy bikes. My 426 pulls so hard I can’t imagine wanting more lol I had a 400f back in the day too it was fast. Good luck on your search!
This or a 2007-11 as a sumo?
This 100%
@@frankiemarchese2978yeah for sure. stock carb as well? thing sounds crisp
@@hisrideThank you. Yes stock carb tuned to the tits. I have a 04 wr450f needle in it, 50 pilot, 168 main, 40 leak jet, o ring mod on the ac pump lever. Thing never bogs on me
Where did you get that pipe? My old white brothers can’t be welded anymore 😂
I got it on ebay, came off a 99 yz400f. Has no logos on it so I really don’t know what brand it is. It was a lucky find it barely has any hours on it. I also have a spare full Big Gun Race Series exhaust. I would sell it
Bro that thing is tits 🤘💪
Thank you! Its ridiculously fun
nice one man. im stuck between getting an 05/06 or an 07/11. Is it true the 05/06 is more raw? I just want it to bark lol
100% the 03-06 steel framed wr’s are more raw, they sound better and are way easier to work on. The 03-04 were a little bit less reliable because of thinner cases. 05-06 they made them a bit more controllable as far as bark but they still bark lol mine has 220.1 hours since I rebuilt it. The valves haven’t budged.
@@frankiemarchese2978right on man thanks for the insight
Nice
Thanks
Hi. What is your fuel/mixture screw set to?
Its at around 2.5 turns out. One size up on both pilot and main. 40 leak jet. Its basically EFI I cant get this bike to bog if I tried
What header is that? I have the OEM header on my 400f and I have to take it off every time I want to change my oil filter
Its a big gun header that only works with the big gun as far as I know. I just put a yz400f used “pro circuit” pipe on it and it sounds absolutely amazing. I will upload a video of it tomorrow
Frankie this is the most beautiful WR450 Supermoto on the yt. For sure. Congrats bro
I agree LOL new video coming soon. I got the aluminum tank and new shroud/tank graphics along with a new seat cover. Its going to look even better
Whats your elevation? I put the 2006 yz450f carb on mine. I have it jetted with a 45 pilot and a 175 main. I am at 1000ft elevation and my bike still takes me a couple of kicks to start and it likes to flood out so when its hot I always have to use the hot start to get it to fire up. Should I drop the pilot one more size?
Im at about 300ft. I cant say for the yz450f carb but my yz426f has a 45 pilot and a 168 main jet in it. It runs amazing, has a slight stutter when cruising at mid range but thats it not too much of a big deal. Alwaya starts first kick
Long story short. 175 seems a bit rich lol try one size up from stock
@@frankiemarchese2978 ah man. I thought 175 was stock on the main, when I got the bike it was running a 48 pilot and a 180 main. But I got it from somewhere that’s a completely different climate and elevation from me. I don’t have a manual so I was going based on forums for “stock jetting” maybe I’ll go down to a 170 for the main. I also never changed the plug after my last re jet which I was just thinking about as well
@@frankiemarchese2978 I’m also on a yz400f not a 426 but from what I understand there is not a whole lot of difference between the two
@@Dirt_Serpentnah not much different. My 05 wr450f is slightly different than the yz426f. One size on each jet different I think. Try 170 and see how it runs. Maybe try turning the fuel screw out 2 turns when you change the jets too
Love the sound and look of this bike. I got the same 450 '07. Great vid
Thank you. I just bought an aluminum gas tank along with new shrouds + graphics, and a seat cover. Will be making a walk around video within the next few weeks stay tuned!
Nice. Can't wait.
can you help me with some info im new in this, i purchased a 2006 yamaha yz450 4 stroke 2 wheel, and blew the motor , and im trying to buy another one but the mechanic said that the yamaha yz450f doesn fit or the parts are not compatible with mine, whats the difference on the engine , mine is a kick start . thank you
You will need an engine from a 2006-2009. Hope that helps!
I have a YZ400f that has quickly become my favorite bike of all time. I have had issues with the accelerator pump but I tracked down and bought another OEM carb so I can use one for parts. gonna get that tuned up and put on hopefully this week.
They are solid bikes! I feel the same. The AC pumped must be timed precisely for it to be optimal, along with proper jetting. Just wish the 400/426 had an adjustable leak jet in the bowl. Ive tried the BK mod and it made things worse
@@frankiemarchese2978 yeah I got mine from someone who lives in a 1000ft elevation difference from me so I’m gonna reset the whole thing to stock specs as well as replacing the ap parts that I need. I’ve come to realize these original carbs are hard to come by. It’s a 98 so it’s running the gen1 fcr carb where the whole mechanism that actuates the ap is all external
@@Dirt_SerpentThats right, I know what you’re talking about. I used to have a 99 yz400f. You can probably put a newer gen carb on it with some slight mods to the manifolds/cables
@@frankiemarchese2978 that’s my next step if I can’t make one of these first gen carbs work. I know you can use an 03 yz450f carb with the matching cables, I spoke to Lectron as well and they make a carb that fits the bike as well, we’ll see how much I wanna spend though haha. Either way this bike is a monster
Awsome job! 👌 The bike sounds great👏
Thank you!
Part number for that exhaust? Been looking for an exhaust for my wr426.
Im not sure the part #. Very hard to find nowadays
i was the 666th subscriber. and i pick up my 05 wr450 tomorrow.... thats not good
Hahaha you’re fine, good luck!
Ciao, il mio non ha il bullone per togliere l’olio dal telaio… sai dirmi perché? Il mio telaio non ha il foro 😮
Do you have Tim Ferry’s factory bike? 😂 Upload a video and show me! Im curious
Nice find 👍…should be a fun little ripper 💪 …the squeaky sound in take off is normal btw…it’s the centrifugal clutch assy …it has springs that rattle until the clutch full engages
why even make this video just pisses me off you're afraid to rev it
Lol true
Way ta go!
what a machine!!!
oh hell yeah, Frank!
Bikes a beast, but this guys rippin!! Good shlt bro
😂😅Man this is new oil totally new Lmao 🤣 😂 😆
Nice bike 2 nice for 05 I have the same European style December of 05 my model 😉
What size tires are you running on this?
150 rear 120 up front 17” wheels
@@frankiemarchese2978 Awesome, thank you!
Also remember oil is better more clear better dark gold or light gold no good either needs to be like a silver gold
Yes
@@frankiemarchese2978 I have the yz250f 04 so I can tell u know ur stuff as well bub 💯💪🏻
good job bro sounds great.
Thanks! It has 177 hours on it now running great
Hi, where did you get the graphics for the rear fender since it’s not the original
Bump…. Or should I say Thump!
She is still thumping strong!
How did you get your exhausts to look like carbon fiber
It is carbon fiber lol I have both the carbon and aluminum type gytr mufflers
Oh okay thank you
Rippin the ttr 90 like it’s nothing 👍
Again it's 2 much but if you like 2 change oil every couple of weeks- months it's ok. Depends how many hours a day you use this 🤮motart (dirtbike 😉)
I like to keep it clean, sometimes its pretty brown at 5 hours. The engine has 175 hours with no issues so Ill keep doing the short intervals. The way I ride I change it every month or 2
@@frankiemarchese2978 Sorry for my English first of all but bro it's the only category of bikes I never had u see 96' I was doing motocross with 96' RM 125cc before 4strokes back then 2strokes only & believe me the oldest bike's was better/light not heavy/fast without problems every month. But now I have finally a second hand wrf450cc 05 of December which is like 06 u know every year they do 2 models. The 1rst six months 1&the second six months of the year the do the second.Anyway i 30+ years destroy dirtbikes & not only😆
@@frankiemarchese2978 If you go mountain yes its good every 1month 2 change oil, oil filter & must change or( clean better your air filter)Also every 4/5 months look the values but if you destroy this 5 gear dirtbike by doing it motart then the engine works not properly it works smoothly with wrong wheel gears smaller ⚙ I use 15 front 46/48 back rear. Mortar use much smaller back rear & bigger front. This is why many do YZF mortar & they destroy the engine *4gears*yzf 😉means short gear burning engine.
@@frankiemarchese2978 The most important is the oil if your oil is golden no reason to change it but if its brown/black after 5000hours then something is wrong,it burns oil 100% i put red oil 10/40w & when it loose the color i change it but its usually after idk hours but kilometers.I do 40 killometers a week maximums (only spring & a couple of months after September)so I don't bring it to the edge no need oil so soon but a YZF with only mountain full exercise trail & times then yes need changes all the time.Remember yamaha knows better why wrf has papers here Europe &u can go with it for exercise from your house 2mountain.But YZF u have 2carry this beautiful beast for motocross/enduro or anything u do😉Sh.. man i wrote a book 📖 😆😅🤣enjoy your dirtbike bro cheers 🍻
@@frankiemarchese2978 If it's too much brown after 5hours open the engine before it will explode 😆it has problems-probably. Usually U change oil after IDK 1000 hours WRF. If YZF the again every 200-300 hours it depends how u drive & where but if u have black oil so soon it burns oil 100% u must fix it rather change every 15 hours 😉Cheers 🍻
The lady talking crap is funny
Lmao thats my mother
Hello. Where did you buy the cold start lever?
Ebay. I cant find the same part unfortunately
@@frankiemarchese2978 Thanks. and I looked for her everywhere
Are those the ims foot pegs? I like it. Pre 450's baby.
Yes IMS and sharp AF lol I love the old school parts
Buenas tardes , yo tengo uno , lo conseguí aquí en Rep Dom y quisiera saber por donde anda el valor de ellos .
$1,000 +/- $200 considering the shape its in
Hello what type of sparkplug it has?
where did you get that graphics kit? Looks great!
Thank you! Its actually not a kit. I pieced it together with seperate graphics for each plastic. The swingarm gytr graphics are probably impossible to find now.
@@frankiemarchese2978 Looke amazing man! I’m building a 05 wr450 right now for my first super moto style bike and i’m taking much inspiration off yours! things to clean not to 😂
They make great supermotos. I rebuilt this whole engine and it has 167 hours on it running great.
