@@dougsmith7031 It's more about having enough travel on the front than the back being too high. You want to extend the front jacks to to between eight and ten inches from the ground while you are hitched up, so it doesn't overtravel either high or low. If the pad you're on is very out of level, you might need to extend or retract the front a bit more. If in doubt hitch back up to clear the faults. Every leg must be extended and retract at least six inches to clear faults.
Nice video. I’ve dealt with Walnut Ridge before for my 2010 Mobile Suite (used) and although that camper is gone now we had 7 really good years with it but point is Walnut Ridge was fantastic to work with. I only wish I lived closer to them. I live in Toledo. PS Cyrus Adkins is just my UA-cam name.
We have a 2020 Keystone Cougar with the Lippert GC 3.0 and have had nothing but problems with them. Our previous 2015 Heartland Cyclone with the 6 pt. hydraulic GC system had no issues. IMHO, the electric units are pure JUNK!
Dont bother with the customer service. Guy blamed my batteries even for the fault and not lowering my jack even though the other Jack's lowered just fine
Once you know about the hidden limitations, it works great. It works fantastic on a nice flat pad. It can work ok on an uneven surface if you use tire levelling blocks and manage to keep it from overtravelling. The fault reset should be clearly explained on the operation sticker, but it is only spelled out in the online user and install manuals. Only extend the front leg extensions to within eight to twelve inches of the ground. That should keep you green most of the time.
Good info, when mine throws an error I have to go inside the coach to the lcd ground control panel and acknowledge and reset for the outside control to operate again. This is a silly, very inconvenient setup by Lippert.
i have a 2023 Coach Chaparral. When i went to autoevel at home, the drivers side front jack and the rear left jack kept extending. i shut the poweroff. I manually checked the level. will the recalibration work to fix this issue.
I've had my Montana High Country with Lippert 6 point 3.0 auto leveling for 4 years now, and I STILL have problems getting the middle jacks to lower manually. I think I've got them to lower manually only a couple time. It's a real pain in the neck to rehome.
They realy dont want to let you use the middle jacks manually. In certain error modes and manual mode, holding Left and Right arrows operates the middle jacks. It's much easier to reset the fault by hitching up, extending all six inches and retracting all. Then only extend the front jacks to about eight to twelve inches from the ground to allow it room to level.
Thank you for the video. Regardiung the re-home process. Some UA-cam creators state that the 6" re-home process needs to be done hooked up to the truck with no weight on the front landing gear. However this video as well as the Lippert manual does not mention this. Please give some feedback on this. TNX.
You do not have to be hooked up to the truck. Just make sure the truck isn't parked under it when you re-home the system because it will drop the front end all the way down.
Also a 5/32 Allen to get the screws out. The one by the motor is a bit tight but just requires extra time on it. Once the screws are loose enough you can pull the unit off. Be care you dont drop the washers which are really small and easy to loose. Also sometimes the sprocket will fall out and are covered in grease so they'll get dirt and leave on them if you arent on asphalt or concrete.
There is also a way to retract from the control panel. Press retract briefly and the light should stay on. then press back to retract rear jacks, left would be all jacks on left side, right would be all jacks on right side, and front is front jacks. Holding Left And RIght at the same time operates the Middle legs on a 6pt if it is in an error state.
I had a weak battery and caused all sorts of problems for 2 years. I changed out with bigger brand new battery and it operates perfectly. Otherwise I would get out of stroke errors right front Jack errors and so on. All I'm saying is load test the battery
Hello I really help with a problem, my lcd buttons won't turn on? Do I need a battery to turn it on? Or 7 plug pin from a truck? Just bought the 5th wheel and they dropped it off now that I'm moving I'm stuck with this issue.
I would first check your fuses. I'm not 100% sure (josh in the video is the expert) about requiring a battery. I know in my unit I've been hooked to my 7 pin BUT I do have a battery. If that doesn't work I would call the dealer you brought it from for additional troubleshooting. If all else fails I know lippert has great customer service. I hope this helps.
You definately need a good camper battery. The 7 pin trailer doesn't give it much current to charge the battery if any. It tends to throw low voltage errors and switch off constantly when it trys to "ground" the legs. It runs the leg into the ground and measures for a specific current to make sure the leg is down. If the battery can't support that current, the system just shuts off and goes to error over and over.
You may have either a dead battery, or a bad fuse. Mine had a really hard time running with a nearly dead battery. The 12v adapter for shore power did not have enough current to keep it happy.
I am very desapionted of this Ground Control 3.0 and very unconfortable to use it front of my friends because it never works, it is always in error mode. I tried the 6 inch so many time and always in ERROR mode.
I'm convinced the primary purpose of the Ground Control 3.0 is to embarrass you and ruin your trip. A$$ backward ghetto technology relying on beeps in the age of self driving cars and smart phones... Shame on the RV Industry...SMGDH!
They should give the full user manual, not just the door stickers. Once you know the gotchyas, it works pretty well. It never fails that the camp site is crooked as can be and the thing gets stuck in error mode when someone is watching or you are in a hurry. It's enough to make you slam your head in your own door. Manually level side to side using wheel levelling blocks to within 1/2". Only extend the front leg extensions to within eight inches of the ground. Compensate for that if the ground is sloped front to back. Sloping uphill in the front, you would extend them less. Sloping downhill, you would extend them more.
We have the Lippert electric auto level on travel trailer, had these issues from day one, flat ground, uneven ground didn't matter, 90% of the time we got an error. Had only 1 battery powering the trailer. It wasn't even a deep cycle battery, just a car battery. I bought 2 brand new deep cycle batteries installed them in parallel and hard reset the Lippert system. Haven't had a single problem since. Lippert should require the manufacturer or dealer to provide proper power to run the system.

Check the side to side before unhitching in case you need tire blocks. You can toggle through the menu to the Level and see the left/right front/back readings to help with that. When you hit AutoLevel it should lower the front to just under level (ie raise/retract the front legs), extend both rear jacks, extend front to level front to back, level side to side. Once the center light is solid green, it is level. Then it will lower the middle legs and ground them. Then it will check each of the other legs to make sure they are all still touching (grounded). Then should say Auto Level Complete.

We were attempting to hitch our 5th wheel to our truck. We have the front much too high, and cannot get it to come down. We have an automatic leveling system on our 2022 Tandara East West. Does anyone know what we should do?
To lower the front, you can go to the menu option Auto Reconnect (?) I believe. It lowers all jacks but the front, and puts the front back at the programmed disconnect height. To manually lower the front by raising the front legs, press the Retract button, it should turn on a red led, and or say retract on the lcd, then press and hold the direction corresponding to the legs you want to retract.
If you download the user and install guides from lippert, you can program a disconnect height for your truck and it go to the height. Still dependant on the level of the ground, but it should get you closer as a starting point.

A 3/8" ratchet and a 6" extension works well.....just in case anyone is still looking for this.

I don’t have those type of motors. There’s no rubber cover or port.
I had all jacks down 6 inches and pressed and held retract, still getting the LF error message and beeping they wont move
I did the same thing, then i realized the actual jack not the extension was not out at least 6" .. once i figured that part out..it worked.

There are fuses on the control board itself. Mine is mounted on the top (ceiling) of the front compartment where a generator would go.
My system doesnt require them to be down 6 inches.
This did NOT work for me. Still have the errors unfortunately. Tried it over and over.
