    I have the 3.0 system on a '16 Grand Design 29RS and have been using it since March. We love it! I watch my neighbors messing with their blocks and jacks for 20 minutes and I push the button, smile and finish my sandwich. It does seem that the menus are more complicated than they need to be and a more simplified, intuitive system would be nice but it works

    Eyeball check yes. I’ve been manually leveling with a bubble level inside. We have a super C.
    I’ve been touching the night side or end down first then being the low side up. Test or level fire and aft a needed. This seems to get all levelers down and tight first attempt. I Lao try to drive onto blocks to get the rig close before attempting the hydraulic leveling. Thanks Jered

    We found that when using Anderson Levelers, the RV would still move front to back even when the raised side was chocked. To remedy this we put rubber chocks around the wheels on the ground and use an X-chock for the wheels that are on Anderson’s.

    I have the lippert electric and it hasn't worked correctly since it was new. Will try autoleveling itself after I put it almost level and it keep making these micro adjustments. Will never stop trying to adjust even when it's level. Have calibrated it once but maybe I should try again. I just do it manually now.

    Lol. They can be a real PIA. Mine is a lippert hydraulic and was constantly off to the left side and rear parked on the driveway. Reading that the click, click, click noise was due to stiction, I removed and added the proper amount of recommend oil and it solved the off level issue and the clicking.

    Hey Jared, We love your channel. We're old to rving but new to auto level. Just got a 2023 Jayco with LCI 3.0 four point electric leveling. The auto level function works perfect and my 4' level confirms it.
    Our problem is the Hitch Height function. When HH is engaged the rear jacks retract as expected and then the landing gear starts moving. That's when it goes berserk! The right gear extends as expected, but the left gear retracts!!! When all the weight is on the right gear it causes an excessive slope code and shuts down the system.
    Any suggestion?

    I find using the info tab on the lippert screen inside the compartment works really well for pulling up to a site to check left and right level. I’ve learned if its 1.5 degrees or more to one side I’ll use those orange blocks to drive on as each block removes about 1 degree of slope preventing wheels for coming off the ground.

    Also ensure solid steps (the ones you pull down out of door frame from inside RV) are NOT put down, until leveling is complete or at least swing the screen and outside entry door all the way open if the steps must be down, else leveling via manual or auto-leveling could possibly warp door hinges and put pressure on door frame. Ask how I know as a first time 5th wheel owner I learned this the hard way. No one told me. Not one video. So yeah. Also the RV was bought used, and did not come with a manual for the Lippert Solid steps. Fortunately if there is damage it is slight as the door just makes a ton of noise when opening and closing. The hinges seem to have too much friction. Also closing the door on a warm day can be somewhat difficult as the door does not latch unless using two hands; one to keep the handle open and another pull the door tight against the door frame before releasing the handle to engage the door latch. It's workable, but I think I may have caused the issue with auto-leveling with steps down and door open. Live and learn I guess.

    • @AllAboutRVs

      It’s not very intuitive and a little strange but on the screen or in the compass One Control app open the leveler under leveling. You see a page where it says leveler on the upper right and the battery voltage under it . Tap the title “leveler” 5 times and it enters advance features so you can level it and zero it out. • @bigbenhuisman

    Auto level was one must-have feature when we were looking at buying our next RV. Ours has worked great, but there was a learning curve to using it correctly. Right now I am getting a low-voltage error from time to time (with a fully charged battery) when trying to auto-level on less even ground. It seems to happen when the leveler is operating both front legs at the same time for 15 seconds or so while raising the front end. I installed the energy monitor with 100 amp shunt that you covered in another of your videos. Looking at the Grand Design specs for the leveler, they note that the leveler can use up to 90 amps of power so I think that the shunt might be limiting the current flow? I am going to wire in a by-pass with switch so I can "disconnect" the shunt when leveling. Just curious if you have any thoughts on this. Really enjoy your videos!

    • @AllAboutRVs
      @AllAboutRVs  3 роки тому

      I would try and see what is happening to the battery voltage when the jacks are auto leveling drawing the most amps. What I would look to see is at times the draw is causing the voltage to drop low enough to trigger the low voltage. Having a bigger battery bank ( 2 batteries) would probably stop that from happening.

    • @bigbenhuisman
      @bigbenhuisman 3 роки тому

      @@AllAboutRVs Thanks, that's a good idea, maybe my battery is just getting old. I had a brain-wave idea to use the energy monitor to see how many amps the leveler is using and will keep an eye on battery voltage at the same time. I will check this out before adding a by-pass to the shunt. I have two batteries with a 1,1-2,2 switch that would let me use both batteries at the same time, so I can try that too.
