Absolutely loving Lagg ❤
There’s a lot to love ❤ Thanks for watching 😊🥃
CLEARIC! NEW MAKE SPIRIT! Thanks for another episode!👍
Dramming along with a Lagg Kilmory! Big fan - another great episode!
That’s the way to do it Kage! Glad you enjoyed the episode - you picked a great expression to dram along with 😊🥃
thanks Kage and glad that you're also part of the Lagg fan club! sláinte my friend
@@jackabussingly I've gone back to it since and it continues to impress me more each time
Poured a 1.1 in honor of the pod. Every one should visit Arran, it’s so easy to get there
Very nice Kyle! That 1.1 is the equivalent of the Kilmory right? The bourbon cask Lagg? Such a beautiful bottling (long since enjoyed with friends from my whisky shelf). Slainte 😊🥃
nice one Kyle, hope our conversation went down well with your Arran juice! 100% agreed - I can't wait for my next trip!
@@jackabussingly surprise surprise, Jack's tried it!
@@TheWhiskyBaron ha but of course 😅 They were the ones in the bigger cardboard boxes on behind the till in the VC shop. I think only 1.2 (Sherry) and 1.3 (red wine cask) were left as 1.1 went very quickly ☺️
@@jackabussingly love how keen your whisky memory is!
Was at Lagg myself 2 weeks ago. Met Graham and Fred too. Tasted some promising stuff. Love the Corriecravie.
such a beautiful place! did you get any of the distillery exclusive juice?
Ah our paths must just have crossed! Thanks for watching the episode Tom and glad to hear you’re enjoying the Lagg Whisky ☺️🥃
@@TheWhiskyBaronFred gave us some delicious juice.
@@tombularbells he's an absolute gent! glad you had such great time Tom, thanks for tuning in and getting involved. sláinte!
Great watch ,I really must get my backside over to Arran .
Cheers Colin, glad to hear you enjoyed it. I should get that phrase “I really must get my backside over to Arran” printed on a t-shirt 😉 Hope you make it over in 2024!
definitely! DO IT!
we're back
Back once again!
Really enjoyed this video and learning more about Lagg. Slainte 🥃
Slainte Shaun, thanks for watching 😊🥃
Being a huge fan of the Arran malt I look forward to one day trying what Lagg has to offer. Currently a difficult find in Canada so what’s a girl to do but jump on a plane and head to the island myself. Jake this episode had me salivating. Much appreciated gents.
Always great to meet another huge fun of Arran on here ytbenny1964 ☺️ Has Lagg started to make it into places like Kensington Wine Market yet? I agree though, a trip to Arran is always a worthwhile trip ☺️
shame to hear it's not an easy find Jan but definitely one to hunt out on your upcoming trip! thanks for joining us as always and great to hear we've got you thirsty for some Lagg! sláinte my friend
Another great episode. Got my pal Gabe going over to Arran in a couple of months time. That Tokaji cask distillery bottle might Just have to find its way back to my liver 😂👍
Heya Malt Monk 👋 Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. Sounds like your friend Gabe will be right place right time to enable that Small Batch Tokaji to make it back to you 😉
@@jackabussingly Yes mate. Hes already been sent the necessary details 😉👍. Cheers Jack
always good when you've got mates that make the journey for you! enjoy it MM, but make sure you make your own journey there ASAP! sláinte
@@TheWhiskyBaron💯👍
Another awesome episode, and what a privilege to sit down with some awesome fellas from Lagg.
I've yet to try their whisky, but will go out and try to hunt some down.
Thanks for watching Jimmy and glad you enjoyed it. Do you skew more towards the Sherry or Bourbon expressions?
@@jackabussingly Hey Jack! I tend to gravitate more towards ex bourbon, as I love trying to pick it up the distilleries house style/distillate.
That being said, I'm more on a ex sherry/fortified kick at the moment as the weather in Aus is getting a bit colder 😅
definitely worth the hunt JJ! such a privilege to sit down with the three Lagg Legends and glad we've got you excited to try their juice. sláinte bud
Hell yes! Will pour a lagg whilst watching. Will try to visit the distillery when I set food in scotland again. Agreed that the newmake is very well made.
Thanks for tuning in Tim, glad you enjoyed the episode and can heartily recommend a revisit to Lagg Distillery on your next Scottish adventure 😊🥃
@@jackabussingly thanks for asking your questions during the episode. There were several that i've wondered about for a while now.
definitely worth the trip Tim; it's a beautiful island without the whisky, but with Lagg and Lochranza there it's a no brainer!
Nice episode.
I like Arran and looking forward to try a Lagg.
Thanks for watching Erwin and glad to hear you enjoy Arran malts. Really exciting to see Lagg percolate out into the wider world 🥃☺️
thanks for tuning in Erwin, always appreciate you joining us! definitely one to try, grab one ASAP
I picked up a bottle of the Kilmory up in Oban last week to go with my friend’s Corriecravie. They’re both absolutely fabulous whiskies. Going to have to get some of the new make so we can have a LAGG tasting night, then figure out a way of getting our hands on some of that Tokai…
easy Graham - get over to Arran before the year ends! glad the core range is going down well my friend, sláinte
Thanks for watching @DaveGraham and glad to hear you’ve got the two core ranges to hand. I’m in a similar boat in terms of massive FOMO about this impending Small Batch Tokaji 😅
@@jackabussingly trying to figure out how I can get away with a weekend in Arran later in the year! Got the new make on order, very much looking forward to it
@@DaveGraham no doubt you'll bump into Jack if you make it over! hoping to make a second trip in 2024 myself so with any luck we'll all get in on the Tokaji and share a few drams together in the distillery bar!
@@TheWhiskyBaron sounds like a great day out!
Great episode, bit of Lagg on the video, probably just my internet connection.
I see what you did! very good very good
Boom boom 😂
Visited shortly after the distillery opened in 2019, tried the new make and was immediately very impressed with this delicious spirit. Loved the look of those short, fat stills and thought this is going to be a big ballsy viscous whisky once it's had some maturation. Have since tried the inaugurals followed by the Kilmory and the Corriecravie core range releases and am fired with enthusiasm regarding the development of the spirit in cask. Sounds like that Tokay cask matured is also going to be a beauty. Lagg is obviously in good and caring hands with lots of tender loving care. You'd be a fool not to try it! Cheers.
Sounds like you’ve done it right Russell and seen the distillery come of age these last few years. That incoming Tokaji Small Batch is really one to look out for ☺️🥃☺️
you know it Russell, singing from my hymn sheet here! keep spreading that Lagg love! sláinte my friend
I don’t know Lagg, but as far as young spirits go, the best I’ve ever had is Macaloneys Caledonian peated single malt from Victoria, BC, Canada. Under 3 years old and better than many 15+ year olds. They had a big legal battle with SWA, try to get your hands on one if you can.
very interesting - not the first I've heard of them but unfortunately I'm still yet to try anything. appreciate the heads up, will see what I can do about getting a bottle. definitely try and get yourself some Lagg! sláinte
New make episode would be great. Ellers Farm Distillery new make is fantastic. 🎉
we'll get it on the books for your Chris! and interesting recommendation - can't say I've tried it myself so appreciate the insight. sláinte my guy
Lagg has some nice whisky!
Absolutely agree Christine ☺️ Thanks for watching 👍🥃
what's your favourite thus far Christine?
It's cool to hear about Tokaji casks being used, it's going to be interesting stuff. But don't forget there is a Scotish version of Tokaji it's called Tokaji tha noo........I'm sorry 😇
Oh Richard 🤪 I can see the kilt and the free range haggis running up the glen now 😉 Thanks for watching the episode good sir ☺️
always a joker Richard, thanks for brightening my day! sláinte bud
Will definitely pick up a bottle if possible based off of the qualities being described here. There’s not much swilling about in Taiwan that I’ve seen yet, but sometimes just takes a bit longer to arrive. Slainte
Heya Hoodwiser, thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the episode. You’re so lucky being in Taiwan! You get some REALLY special Small Batches from Lochranza over there, and a number of the 1995 Single Cask Releases too. Hope you enjoy the Lagg as and when it arrives ☺️🥃
keep your eyes open for it my friend, you won't be disappointed!
@@jackabussingly love that you know all of the international small batches - sounds like you need a trip to Taiwan soon as opposed to Arran again! or maybe you and Hoodwiser can do a bottle exchange!
@@jackabussingly funny you should mention that Jack I saw the 25yr in a store, decided I was going to buy it, ab the next day it was gone! Taiwan gets a lot of good stuff you’re absolutely right, but there’s a lot of people knowledgeable and on the hunt too, so can’t be slouching. Enjoyed your contributions on the episode and thought you asked some really good questions. Slainte
@@TheWhiskyBaron I am usually very cautious s out buying new distilleries stuff for the exact reasons you mentioned in the video - releasing subpar stuff too early - but this episode has allayed any such fears regarding Lagg so definitely on the hunt. Just bought a Cadenheads Enigma, again based off of the podcasts glowing praise, so yeah cheers for insights into different things. Slainte
Fancy suggesting Fred was going to be talking shite!!!
New make please.
nice one JP, we'll get it on the books ASAP!
