Would definitely love to see a podcast at GlenAllachie featuring Billy Walker.
Nice one Matt, thanks for letting us know - we're on the case!
That would be amazing!
@@christinecamleymight have just booked it in today..
Fabulous!!
@@christinecamleyit’s the only reason I’m up so late - still buzzing from the news!
Billy walker would be an absolute legend to have on!
agreed! BILLY BILLY BILLY! thanks for commenting - we're working on it for you
Oh, and ....BILLY, BILLY, BILLY, NEIL, NEIL, NIEL and YES PLEASE to more of Ian's enthusiast series. Love those videos!!
Good man James! Appreciate the support as always
Greetings. I would also endorse Springbank’s “Barley to Bottle” Tour & Cadenhead’s Warehouse Tasting as ala carte events (if £900 Eat Drink Dram Repeat” gives you pause). Blending your own Springbank bottle might be worth the price of admission alone. There are some amazing bottles at The Ardshiel Hotel Bar too. BTW, enjoying your enthusiasm & candor. Cheers.
Billy!!!!
Yessir! Thanks for commenting, we’re on it
Had the three non turbo Meikle Toir expressions. Deliciously good value….
Well put Ed - I'm very impressed and keen to try others. sláinte!
Billy Billy Billy !! ❤
YESSIR! appreciate the comment, we're on it
Another classic gents. Always appreciate the honesty. You lads are like The Three Amigos(a movie before your time) I feel Jake is the Steve Martin character, Ian as the Chevy Chase character and, for sure, Stevie is the Martin Short character.
Btw, have those Meikle Toirs in my shopping cart. I am a Glenallachie fool! Cheers
It may have been before my time but you have no idea what this means to me - Steve Martin is a serious hero of mine!
Thanks for tuning in as ever Bill, love having your dram along and very much appreciate your input. Have you hit the checkout with those beautiful Glenallachie gems?
@@TheWhiskyBaron Not yet. Still debating getting all three(no Turbo) or just the sherry.
@@billmonteith1161go on, treat yo’self! You know they’re all going to be smashing
Neil, Neil, Neil! Torabhaig tour would be great too!
Yes Matt! Love your enthusiasm and appreciate your support. Just left a message on their answering machine this AM so hopefully we'll hear back soon. sláinte
We need Billy! We need Neil!
Really want to try Torrabhaig, I don't think I've seen it in Canada yet, but I could be wrong.
Thanks for the insights!
Great podcast as always. Just picked up the Campbeltown Loch and Meikle Toir Sherry one at a shop today. Two more bottles to the collection for £90, you can't really complain at that.
Good man Neil! Off our recommendations or were they on the shopping list anyway?
Off your recommendation for the Campbeltown Loch. But the Meikle Toir was on the shelf so thought why not. Tried the Loch last night, very enjoyable
@@neilbird9754amazing stuff - glad you’re enjoy it! Sláinte my friend 🥃🥃
Hell Ya.....giddy up Billy, Billy, Billy
Personally, future indri releases are high up the list. Also looking forward to the glen scotia feis ile and what loch lomond is experimenting with. Ofc springbank, ardnamurchan are obvious. Heck even single grains and blended malts.
I really miss Ben and his whisky reviews.........spot on video quality.
Ben is an absolute gent and someone we're also keen to have return to the whisky-sphere. hopefully we'll help to fill the void before the Scotchtographer reappears (and maybe we'll convince him to join us for another episode soon!)
It is on Imperial site which I’ve driven past several times down in Carron over the other side of the river from Dailuane. Very modern looking distillery. Doesn’t look much like Imperial to my eyes but I’ve not studied this in-depth.
good good - glad I didn't get it completely wrong. It's a beautiful looking place and definitely brings the distillery scene into the 21st century
I thought Imperial was mothballed and eventually demolished because it could only produce massive quantities at a time. (I may be mistaken). Surprised if it’s bigger although it may be more flexible. Would love to look round.
@@edfriday7709 we looked at it after and Stevie got it slightly wrong - it's one of the biggest new distilleries. still a massive output though and agreed - I'd love to have a gander at this modern whisky Mecca!
The Torabhaig peat elite thing sounds awesome
I’ve had quite a few Duncan Taylor Dalmunachs over the last few years and also have this bottle sitting in the queue….
what are your thoughts Ed? I'm hoping that the few bottles you've gone through indicate a reasonable level of enjoyment at least
Delicious. Obviously cask influence heavy but I have no problem with that. Waited too long before buying the last one but I’ll happily wait for the next one…
@@edfriday7709 glad it's going down well with you also! ye, I think the robust spirit takes the heavy cask influence quite nicely - will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for future releases of this gem from DT. sláinte my guy
Bring us King Billy!!!!
Stay tuned - we may have this booked in for you..
Another banger, chaps! Thanks, as ever! Campbeltown Lock is £38+postage (12 percent off) on Amazon (UK) today! 🤯 Just ordered two, as coming over in a few days time 👍
Glad you're still enjoying our ramblings and delighted to hear that you've made a purchase on the back of this. sláinte my friend!
I had all batches of 2022 and 2023. Huge batch differences. Almost like different whiskies 2022 - 20023, but no wonder. Different malts of different distilleries. Still: same family. I like March and June 2023 most but you have to check the laser code. Nothing on the label.
@@Eunegin23 Good intel! Thanks for the heads-up. Can't get any of this in British Columbia, Canada so just looking forward to trying it tbh. Hope it's the slightly more sherried bottling, as that's my jam!
@@jameswrightesq The most recent ones are the darker, more sherried ones, so the chances of getting one is high.
I just ordered a few. 36 Euros; it's widely available. And: Canada is great but the whisky supply is not....
@@Eunegin23 good looking out and spot on - you should be in for a winner James but let us know how you get on! absolutely love these lovely little convos between our community members! sláinte you beautiful people
One correction. The meikle toir original is 50% not 48. Also, billy billy billy!

The King of Glenallachie! working on getting him on as I type so thank you for the support
Hey gents! Thanks for great content. I’ve been binge watching from episode 1 for last week and it’s been a pleasure. I only have one problem: for the love of god, please, stop making so much mouth sounds to the mic (Stevie pls 🙏🏼)
Keep doing what you doing with the content ❤
I always learn something new on your podcasts, hadn't heard of Dalmunach but will search it out now. A podcast with Billy Walker would be a must, a legend, and you can ask him why I cant get the turbo in Poland but only the other 3 from their distributor :-), that's me being selfish of course! 1 hour and 4 mins is too short for your podcasts, or are you leaving us wanting more ?!
glad we've highlighted something new for you Euan - definitely one to watch! always keen to leave you wanting more but we'll be sure to grill Billy on this for you and get a lengthy episode with him out to quench your Uncut thirst! sláinte my friend
I am Mark from Amsterdam and just started drinking and collecting whiskey. Really love peated whiskey and do not really like bourbon / rye. How could I upgrade my knowledge and how does investing in whisky be look like? What are the ranges?
Billy Billy Billy 😂

May have got this one on the cards already thanks to all of your wonderful support. Stay tuned..
Grabbed 2 bottles of The Whisky Cellar 2011 Rhinns, yet to open but heard amazing things. Wonder if they do more Rhinns runs in the future?
I sincerely hope so Peter! such a winner from the Laddie family

Torabhaig❤❤
such a winner and definitely a new point of interest for me so rest assured we will be doing all we can to get some content on the books with them
Looking forward to it! 👍
I've been to Yalumba, amazing winery & producing top notch stuff. We have a bunch of amazing winery's here in South Aus, and whisky distilleries utilising their awesome old fortified casks.
I'm not one for new world wines but I have to agree that the whisky scene utilising these casks is a massive win and a great way for the different scenes to collaborate and drive awareness. maybe a wine I'll have to try after all! sláinte JJ
@@TheWhiskyBaron Maybe a pairing with a Yalumba wine and one of the Fisherman Retreat bottlings? 😁 Cheers! Keen for that Australian whisky episode hehe 😉
@@jimmyjazz4605definitely! We’ll get the Aussie session into the lineup, might just take a minute to source the expressions we need to give the category a fair shout as we are limited in selection over here
@@TheWhiskyBaron Completely understand. Thanks for considering it 🙏🏼 Cheers 🥂

Billy Billy Billy, oesh oesh oesh
Evening all. Have you tried the Glenglassaugh from Fishermans treat ?
I believe we tried it as part of the tasting that we did with them but I haven't sat down with it as a solo and given it the time it no doubt deserves. A winner?
@@TheWhiskyBaron I’m curious.
Nearly pulled the trigger early last year as a big Glenglassaugh fan as the Muscat cask sounded rather good.
However. I thought it was touch pricey for 50cl at £85 to take a blind punt on AND with 307 bottles left (as of today) it seems that it’s not going to start moving anytime soon.
Spoke to them about a sample to ‘try before you buy’ alas they weren’t forthcoming and wanted to charge.
Hence I didn’t pull the trigger in the end. I don’t need to blag samples, it was a genuine enquiry.
If id been impressed I would have happily purchased a few bottles and then shared within my Glenglassaugh FB group which I’m sure would have produced many more sales for them. Twas not to be.
So struggling to find any reliable reviews on it…..
@@nottudyug that's a pity. likelihood of it is that they don't have any samples to hand and so would need to crack a full bottle to offer you this. I appreciate it's frustrating but as an indie myself I can attest to the fact that all these samples add up! I haven't tried it myself so can't be of much help unfortunately, however, we'll try and book in with them for an episode and see if we can get it in the lineup for you! sláinte my friend
@@TheWhiskyBaron Aye I hear you Jake. I find it a little bemusing though that an IB are (in this instance) prepared to sit on so many bottles for so long.
ie. I made a note of how of how many bottles were available in the Autumn last year. To put it bluntly they aren’t shifting these anytime soon.
If they can afford to do that good luck to them. Clearly it’s overpriced else they would be selling.
The few IB I buy from regularly wouldn’t be happy sat on so many bottles that they aren’t turning into cash.
Hence I’ll keep on eye on them and wait for a price drop if it ever happens. 😅
@@nottudyug Disappointing to hear the stock isn’t shifting as IMO it doesn’t sound overpriced, but I hear you Guy - not what you want to see as a consumer and I completely understand your stance
Im not sure if you have covered benromach? The contrasts and the csv stuff is really good
we haven't yet - one we'll be sure to get into the lineup for you. thanks for the recommendation!

Abhainn Dearg Madeira cask is something different to try.
