Thank you so much for posting this! I found a Vintage Coach bag and after much deliberation decided to use it instead of lock it away in my closet. A drink spilled on it in my car. I was devastated. 😢 It's an odd plum color. After watching this I think l'll dye it black. 👜🖤
Came out great... have a question... I have a bag in a darkish tan that's made of Nubuck Leather... not sure if I need to buy the Angelus SUEDE or Angelus LEATHER for the job. I also wondered how much of that bottle did you need to use for your bag? My bag is 12x16. Do I need 2 bottles. Nubuck is leather, but everywhere on line when I read Nubuck cleaning, dyeing, etc.. they all use suede dyes or cleaners, so Im unsure, but I know the bag is Nubuck Leather and would love your help. THANK YOU :)
Hi Hadrian just seeing this video for the first time. I have a Rebecca Minkoff purse that I thrifted and it's suede (or nubuck), dirty and a odd shade of blue. I took it to the cleaners to get it cleaned, but they refused to do it (so how can I clean it). Second, do you have another full video of dying a suede bag as (I need full directions before I try to this) this one is missing a section. Thank you very much.
Hi! Love your videos! You are so helpful! I have a question, do you need any finisher? I am thinking about dying my nubuck bag... Because i accidentally applied leather conditioner one it and i tried to remove it... But didnt work. I now hesitate to use any conditioner/finisher. But i worry if i dont the color may rub off. Thanks!
+K kk hi! Yes, never use conditioner or suede and nubuck. They have special products you can use on them though. As for a finisher, you don't need to use one after you dye the suede/nubuck, though you can if you like. But if you don't it's not going to rub off or color transfer. At least as long as you use the angelus brand dye. That's what I use and have never experience rub off or color transfer. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi, Can you dye from a darker color to a lighter color, or do you think that would result in discoloration? I'm trying to go from a worn dark brown to a red if possible. Thank you for your help!!
+T Good hi! It's pretty much impossible to dye a dark bag to a lighter color. The only way to achieve something like that is by using acrylic paints and the best way to paint an entire bag from dark to light with acrylic paint would probably be by using an air brush. Hope this helps! 💛💛💛
I have a coach white bag with raw suede interior. I want to paint the exterior tan or red, do I have to get acrylic dye for the exterior and suede dye for the interior or can I use watered down acrylic on the inside? Many thanks!!
Great video 👌, I have a Juciy couture dog carrier that I bought for 15 bucks , but the pink in some areas are dull. Should I dye same Pink or do you have any suggestions on colors. The handles are navy blue. Help please and TY
I love poshmark. I just bought a Alexander Wang brenda bag. it's tan and I want to dye it black so badly but I'm terrified. idk if I should pay a leather goods pace to do it for me or try it myself.
Hi fantastic video thanks. Question need your help I just bought a sued black purse and the dye stains my hands and clothes, what can I do? Please help I love the purse!
Hi! I have the exact same bag (PS1 Medium) in yellow suede. Want to dye it black. But what about the edges, they are more «rubberish» (glue??) how can I dye all the edges? And the stitching?? Acrylic paint really works for the stiching? Do you have a picture of the colored bag in better lighting?? Hillevi, Norway
I want to dye my bran new Madewell suede tote that says it's "suede with an oiled finish." I've read about washing suede, would that be helpful in breaking down the finish to allow better dye coverage? Any other sort of prep I should consider since it's new? Love the video!
I enjoyed watching your video, it was very informative. Just thinking of all of my faded suede bags that could get a makeover. Once the process is completed, what do you recommend to seal the color so that it doesnt bleed on my clothes?
+Walknlight you don't need to seal it unless you want to do a scotch guard type treatment. Once the dye is dry (24-48 hours) you're good to go. It won't rub off on your clothes or anything 😊
hey! I love your videos! I have just dyed my Gucci dionysus bag (GG supreme) from taupe to black.. I absolutely destroyed it with new jean discolouration.. so I dyed it black this afternoon (YAY). But I have a question- did your proenza bag suede get all stiff after your dyed it? did you condition it at all? Thanks!
Looks amazing!!! I’m going to try this on a Christian Dior i scored that i didn’t think I’d be able to use because of similar stuff. This is awesome. Did you coat it with anything or was it fine just drying? Will it run off on clothing etc without coating it?
I'm dying a Rebecca Minkoff bag (Darren crossbody) that's leather on the outside and suede on the inside (the inside is unlined with fabric so the "suede" is really just the unfinished/back side of the leather that's on the outside). Got the bag for a song so I'm dyeing it but have a couple questions that I haven't found answers for elsewhere and you do so many bag transformations, I figured you'd know. 1.) Have you dyed the inside of your bags? If so, does the dye ever rub off on things inside your bag...particularly suede? 2.) On that note does the dye ever rub off on your clothes from the outside? Particularly suede again since it's not sealed like leather? Thanks so much H!
I know this video is old but I’m hoping you still reply to me. I bought this dye to dye my Fendi bag. My original bag was a light orange color and I got the rust orange dye. My goal was to even out some of the horrible stains on the bag. I did two coats and the bag looks so so streaky and still extremely dark in color. How many coat do you suggest applying? In this video it looks like you did one coat of black and it covered. What am I doing wrong? Please help me. Thanks!
+JFaceArtistry omg. Lol. Yes. It's SO expensive. When I started I didn't know I'd need that much suede dye. I let it dry a bit at first, but went over it again because the dye I first bought was from a shoe repair because I didn't want to wait to order it online. I was very very wrong. It's much better to order online because they have all the new formulations. The first time I tried it the dye had a purple/blue hue and then I decided to order from amazon and it was pitch black in one go.
+JFaceArtistry oh, I just started talking about something else, lol, but yes. At first I didn't wait too long to apply more coats because it was blue/purple but then I ran out pretty quickly and then the order came in from amazon and that applied so much better and I was able to do the rest in one coat and then had to redo the first parts I did because they were still blue/purple.
Hi! Since it's suede, black might be your only option since you're coming from such a saturated color. You could try it though, but it might turn into a dark purple.
@@itsHadrian Oh allright. I might try with a darker red colour, and just paint over with black if it doesnt work. The dye is not so expensive thank god. Did you use acryllic paint on the stitching and fabric where the zippers are?
+pauline380school totally fine. Once the dye dries it's completely okay to wear with white/light clothes. But I only use Angelus brand dye. I've tried other brands and they are not my favorite, so I can only speak for my experience with the Angelus dye.
+Patsy Cobb hi! When I dye bags I let them dry for 24 hours, but I usually wait 48-72 hours to before using. The Celine bag I steamed to reshape I allowed 24 hours for it to dry off and cool down.
i bought a £300 sand seude bag and fuck me i clean and cover it in suede protectant and my jeans still transfer colour on it every time. thanks for making this video! Will the dye transfer onto my light jackets..also was one bottle enough for your entire bag :)?
Hi! Ugh, I know the struggle. It's almost impossible to prevent color transfer no matter how much scotch guard or anything you use on your bag. That color transfer from denim is intense, especially if it's dark denim that's into dyed. As for how much to use, one bottle was not enough for this bag. I think I ended up using 5 bottles of dye. The suede just soaks in all the dye, so you really need a lot. Afterwards you don't need to seal the bag or anything. Once the bag dries it's perfect and doesn't need anything else. You can definitely condition it if you want though, but no need for a top coat or sealant.
Whoa~ 5 bottles! I'm so glad you mentioned that as I have a less-than-attractive Coach suede and leather bag that needs an exorcism - I mean a dye job. :) It's not as big as your bag but it's good to adjust my expectations as I'll be preoccupied with the fear. Heh. Once again, nice work Hadrian!

Love how this came out will the dye bleed on clothing?

Thank you for the video! Do you brush the suede after dyes dries off?
Any suggestions on how to clean a Juicy Couture Velour bag? Or how to dye it? It has stitched embroidery
I love poshmark. I just bought a Alexander Wang brenda bag. it's tan and I want to dye it black so badly but I'm terrified. idk if I should pay a leather goods pace to do it for me or try it myself.

I just bought a juicy couture velour bag and I want to dye it. Any advice? Or do you have any videos of juicy C bags?
Hi hadrian how do you dye canvas? I thrifted a burberry blue canvas bag and need tips

Did you find that the dye transfers at any point. Do you have to rinse after dye is applied? Super worried about transferring

Did you apply water protector after dyeing the bag?
Hello! How many coats of dye did you use? I'm dyeing a suede jacket a deep blue color and I've used so much dye already 😩
+JFaceArtistry oh no! I used like 4 bottles of dye. The suede just eats it up.
itsHadrian I bought a pint! Lol I still need more...so you didn't let the dye dry and then apply more coats?
+JFaceArtistry omg. Lol. Yes. It's SO expensive. When I started I didn't know I'd need that much suede dye. How do clean fine leather that has mold or mildew?hello
Does the material feel different after drying
Do you seal it at all, after the dye?
Is the shade still soft?
Is the black colour easier to maintain? Asking cz its suede.....
awesome video thank you
Thank you so much!
Can I dye my red suede PS1, navy blue? Or is black the only option

can you wear this bag with a white coat or is it too dangerous ?

How long does it take for the dye to dry? I saw your other video and the steam Celine bag had to sit for 24 hours. To dry and shape.
+Patsy Cobb hi! When I dye bags I let them dry for 24 hours, but I usually wait 48-72 hours to before using. The Celine bag I steamed to reshape I allowed 24 hours for it to dry off and cool down.
Oooh the steaming...great tip! I watched that video but missed the steaming detail. Kiddo, you are so helpful!
Just dyed my red suede Land bag, this video and comments are so helpful. Thank you
