Hi typed in a very specific word search and you cane up! Thanks so much for sharing, my fendi went to a "restorer" & they charged $$$ but the black still looked an old tired grey. When I asked them why they didn't recolour it, they said oh you can't recolour designer bags! Haha wished I could share them your video and show them how the real professionals do it! I was so excited while watching you transform this bag. It's beautiful. I put the cart before the horse and bought a Dooney rehab bag, fabric and vachetta leather tote online then decided to research how to rehab it. And here you are! Can't wait for it to arrive. next I need to find a video on cleaning nickel hardware. FYI since I live in rainy Florida I've decided to use a repellent on it. Funny thing is I bought 2 new and expense Saffiano leather lo care totes but it's my Cinderella/My Fair Lady stuff that brings me great joy and happiness.
Curious about color transfer on clothing? Do you seal it with anything? When wearing the bag will it get any dye on your clothing or will rain cause it to bleed?

I have a question for ya...I bought a beautiful grey and black canvas Coach bag on ebay and my dumba** took someone else's advice and washed it in the washing machine on delicate but once I took it out of the machine the black leather trim faded black dye onto the grey canvas and I tried all types of cleaners to remove it, with no luck. So I decided to take your advice and dye it with Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint in black and diluted it with some warm water and it looks good but it is a lil stiff and my question is how can I soften it up a lil bit so it won't appear as if it was starched? My COACH bag is more of a Large Coach shoulder bag. Thank you so much for giving me this idea because I was about to throw it away!
Hello, You are a life and money saver. I have a coach crossbody that I use when I go to car shows, black friday shopping or to the fair. The front side is getting that black brownish color. I love it and didnt want to just toss it because its still in good condition just the front is faded. My question is do I need to wash the bag after painting it? I dont want the dye to bleed on my clothes after I paint it.
Score! Used this method on my purse and turned out amazing! Do I need to do anything to make sure the color doesnt transfer to my clothes if it gets damp or whatever?

Thank you for sharing your tricks! Would it be okay to use a bigger brush or those sponges used in painting to cover more surface more quickly? I'm guessing using a small brush around the edges is needed to keep from getting it on the leather?

Hi! It's totally fine afterwards. Once the bag is completely dry there's no color transfer, rub off, or anything like that :-) Just make sure to use the Angelus brane Acrylic paint because it's made specifically for leather and fabrics, so you won't get any adverse reactions.

+Pamela Little hi! Actually, you can put leather dye on it and it will darken or turn black. It will eventually rub off or fade but you can always paint it more. And then if you ever changed your mind and want to remove it completely just use rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover.
You know, I haven’t tried it. I know those fabrics are more stain resistant and not too sure how well or evenly it would take dye, so that would be pretty interesting I know it would be paintable using acrylic paints for sure, but it would require thin layers. Maybe use an airbrush.
Can you dye canvas luggage. I have a turquoise ebag which I really love but to match the rest of my travel accessories I'd love it to be a bright raspberry color. Is this something you think I could do?

+Fabulous Style the angelus dye is only for leather. Whenever you are dying fabric always water down the paint or else it will sit on top of the fabric, which is fine if that's the look you're going for or if you are painting an imagine or design, but if you want to dye the fabric you have to make sure it's watered down so it actually dyes the fabric instead of painting it, if that makes sense, lol. But yes, never use leather dye on fabric or else it will actually make your fabric hard.

hey itshadrian, im planning to redye my black balenciaga hobo bag, i want to know how many oz of angelus leather paint and which one i would buy? do i need to buy all your kit listed here?
+Maribel Ilagan hi Maribel! Were you just going to redye it black? All you would need is the angelus leather preparer/deglazer, the angelus black dye, and maybe some paint brushes to get into the nooks and crannies. The hobo is a little large so you may need two bottles, but since it's just a color refresh you will honestly probably only need one coat and the one bottle will be more than enough. It also comes with a dauber that is really good at applying to large sections. Then I would just apply the Cadillac conditioner after 24-48 hours just to bring back the moisture. Then you should be good! 😊😊😊 oh! But make sure you get the dye from amazon through angelus. They're the ones I linked to in my videos. The older dye formulations are awful. The new one is perfect.
Okay got it. But im thinking just to get all your kit as shown here. Got lots of bags and shoes that needs to be clean, painted and repair. I got Chanel boots that has a color transfer it is white and the black part of it transfered to that area. So i might used your eraser or anything you want to advised?
+Maribel Ilagan definitely try the eraser first. It's the most evasive. If not you should be able to get it out with the leather preparer. Some of the white might come off, but just a little white acrylic paint will cover it up.
+Ashley Laine omg!!! 😱 it's pretty much going to be impossible to get it out I think without making it worse. You can dye it all black though 😁 black leather dye and watered down acrylic paint for the velour.

There are products to use on top Bag-Kote for instance. It will help not transfer dye to clothing

Hi! Yes, once the bag is dry (usually about 24-48 hours), the color will not come off with water or rub off on clothes.

+Maribel Ilagan hi Maribel! Were you just going to redye it black? All you would need is the angelus leather preparer/deglazer, the angelus black dye, and maybe some paint brushes to get into the nooks and crannies. The hobo is a little large so you may need two bottles, but since it's just a color refresh you will honestly probably only need one coat and the one bottle will be more than enough. It also comes with a dauber that is really good at applying to large sections. Then I would just apply the Cadillac conditioner after 24-48 hours just to bring back the moisture. Then you should be good! 😊😊😊 oh! But make sure you get the dye from amazon through angelus. They're the ones I linked to in my videos. The older dye formulations are awful. The new one is perfect.
Okay got it. But im thinking just to get all your kit as shown here. Got lots of bags and shoes that needs to be clean, painted and repair. I got Chanel boots that has a color transfer it is white and the black part of it transfered to that area. So i might used your eraser or anything you want to advised?
+Maribel Ilagan definitely try the eraser first. It's the most evasive. If not you should be able to get it out with the leather preparer. Some of the white might come off, but just a little white acrylic paint will cover it up.

Hey :) I have a Michael kors bag with a canvas material. It's thick. It also has blue marker all over it. How would I go about cleaning that?
What kind of marker? if it's fresh it's usually easier to get out. Have you tried rubbing alcohol? or shout wipes? or one of those stain remover pens?

+Ashley Laine omg!!! 😱 it's pretty much going to be impossible to get it out I think without making it worse. You can dye it all black though 😁 black leather dye and watered down acrylic paint for the velour.

Hi! Yes! Just make sure you doing this method on organic fabrics. It won’t work/work as well on synthetic fibers. Hope this helps!
