That would drive me absolutely nuts. I don't have the patience for that detailed work. I would end up spilling some Angelus on a rag and swiping at it. lol
i like the paint removed --- like you, i like the variation in color ..it highlights the 'pebble' (?) in the leather. The top looks better than the rest. So much work..i honestly would've dumped the bag in a bucket and scrubbed it like a handwash item LOL.. I'm sure you enjoyed the project though. I'm just too impatient. Great job
Thank you Hadrian for demonstrating this. A much loved bag I have had for 20 years was recently painted instead of restained...and I am devastated. It looks so fake and it's sticky. I wonder did the stickiness go away?
I would be tempted to try brushing the preparer onto the surface (maybe with a soft, small paint brush) and then wipe it down with a cloth ... I have a feeling you are going to wind up dying it black ...
Can't you use cotton wool instead of a Q tip to remove the paint. You can dye the bag a tan brown dye, as you like the brown tan colour if not dye it black.
Hi Hadrian, Love the hand bag rehab. I think it would look even more great if you dye it black. Thank you for sharing I absolutely love your videos you are so awesome and talented.🤗😘❤️❤️❤️
The music you use in this video reminds me of when you use to do your art work, Hadrian, what I wouldn’t give for some of that talent you have, and do some of your art, Please🏆 The bag on camera looks more gray then brown.
I will finish cleaning it up and I would dye it brown just for the simple fact of those marks being there it just would look like the marks belong there it will look like natural leather I had a purse like that and I dyed it maroon and it just looks like the leather was that color.
I’m still trying to catch up with Vlogmas! But I adore your rehabs so had to skip ahead. It comes across as very grey with some type of dark staining on camera. I think if you did maybe one coat of Angelus dye (not paint) you’d still get the distressed look but it would cover the dark marks, look gorgeous! I dyed a brown distressed leather MK tote that belonged to my mother who always hated the colour as the handles were cream (it really did look bad, but was a gift & she was to kind to ask to exchange it). It was very dry soaked up 2 coats, still looks distressed but looks great all black! Question: you said the preparer/ deglazed would take Off colour transfer. What about on a red handbag? My fave McQueen has a little on the back, the handles so filthy acetone & rubbing alcohol wouldn’t clean the dirt, maybe this would? Think there would be too much colour loss? Don’t want my baby to be different reds if I got dye to cover. (Yes I’m love her *that* much!) Thank you for showing the process, wow what a project! I’m working on cleaning a lovely handbag the seller lied about the condition on eBay (gotta finish writing the dispute - was so nice about writing, they got nasty, defensive straight away, fine deal with the consequences) 6 hours and only ¼ of the handbag clean, it’s *that* bad. Lovely style, great mid range brand (Liebeskind Berlin) with quality & leather that sincerely compares favourably or better than many luxury brands, so I empathise! Best regards always!😘💚🦇⚡️Jet
You're so sweet Jet. I saw what you said to that person who commented about this video, lol. I probably shouldn't have replied, but I was feeling a little cheeky. And I love all the replies people have been giving about this bag. I've been thinking up all sorts of ideas. I know black would be the easiest and like I always say it covers a multitude of sins and will pretty much make the bag look brand new. If I did brown, the other marks will still show through unless I go super dark brown, which I don't really want to do... so I'm juggling a few ideas, but still like, eh. Lol. As for removing color transfer. It really depends on the leather, the finish on the leather, and how old the stain is. If you work really fast with it, you might be able to get it off. Like a quick stroke over the stain. But then depending on the finish and type of leather you might lighten the leather, or remove the finish. I might be able to help more if you send photos (email them to: itshadrian.com) and I might be able to gage better the course of action. I'm sorry about the bag you got on eBay. I'm always a little hesitant buying things there, lol. I have to get all Nancy Drew and make sure they're reputable, but I do love Leibeskind bags. Their bags are lovely. I do know they're vegetable dyed, so they're very very porous leathers. They're soft and the color will fade over time and acquire a patina, but love it.
itsHadrian - I won’t stand for rudeness when it’s uncalled for (and it usually is) so I couldn’t keep my big mouth shut, especially as the “maroon” (as Bugs Bunny would say) went after sweet, kind you! Did you delete the comment? I was about to rip him a new one for the misogynistic way he replied to me (even hubby of over 27 years wouldn’t dare call me “girl” or “boo”!) and his further rude response about you. His user name was apt, he has mushy mashed potatoe head/brain! Someone mentioned Birkin orange which would be stunning with the ostrich, but I doubt would cover the stains. Noooo agree dark brown = yucky! I’m glad you got enough ideas kicking around! I’ll take pics of my red McQueen, send on IG? (You didn’t give an @ for the email.) So sweet of you to try & help me! It’s such a beautiful lipstick red! The colour transfer is old (not sure how old), but oddly when I used acetone & rubbing alcohol on the filthy handles (this bag has been through the ringer all over the world) not much colour came off. Thanks for the advice! Yes! The Liebeskind are divine when they develop a patina! This one is just ingrained filth, they threw it in a box, no protection during our blizzards, took all pix with flash washing out the actual colour, took one pic of a tiny pen mark inside not mentioning the interior is covered in those marks, as well as large black stains in addition to the filth on the exterior (which did come out with elbow grease). They had a quite high # feedback of 100%, plus it was a nice deal - but I would’ve thought 2x if I knew its actual condition. I just feel it was misrepresented, they didn’t even get the style name correct, which should’ve been a warning sign. If I can get it clean I might keep it grey as it’s a lovely elephant type grey. If not, here comes another black handbag! Don’t know what other colour wouldn’t look “muddy” over the colour? Oh & I feel like I thrifted a new Liebeskind convertible hobo/ rucksack/ crossbody as a Yuletide gift at Nordstrom Rack - original tags say $360, I got it for $124! ❤️ it & the versatility is a huge plus! You’re too kind! I love our novels as well! Much love! 😘💚🦇⚡️J.
My bag’s color changed after cleaning it with soap water and aldo bag cleaning wipes. I don’t know what happened and its not off white now changed color.. i need help with it
To be honest, since you asked for our opinions...the bag looks a bit shabby or un-cared for at this point rather than distressed...I think it needs the color refreshed in some way...it needs more lovin'!
Hadrian I think that the bag looks so bad right now I would dye it a dark Mahogany Brown or Black. The Dark Brown would vary a little bit in color and give it the used look. The Black would make it look more new. I would use a dye not paint.
You should dye it black. It would be beautiful
That would drive me absolutely nuts. I don't have the patience for that detailed work. I would end up spilling some Angelus on a rag and swiping at it. lol
Dye it black.. it’s worth saving

Dye it midnight blue if you can... I think it would look amazing!
Love your handbag rehabs! Thank you Hadrian. Keep them coming. Love, Francine
Dye it back it's original color but just a bit darker. I really like that color i think it'll bring out the beautiful details of the leather !
I would be tempted to try brushing the preparer onto the surface (maybe with a soft, small paint brush) and then wipe it down with a cloth ... I have a feeling you are going to wind up dying it black ...
Is there a 'neutralizer' for the product or does just allowing the residue to evaporate render the chemical harmless the leather in the long run?
Yay for the video! Saw it on your story on IG!
Can't you use cotton wool instead of a Q tip to remove the paint. You can dye the bag a tan brown dye, as you like the brown tan colour if not dye it black.
I like it distressed. If you're keeping the bag for yourself..and you love it like that..then keep it like that. :)
Dye it black. Will be gorgeous!

Can u suggest how to remove a paint in a bag. There is that extra flowers I want to remove in its original color...
Hey, I think maybe a dark chocolate brown might work and can you do a video on how to change hardware color? Thank you and I love your videos.
How do you remove paint from coated canvas like on a LOuis Vuitton?

I’m sorry, I did it again with a tome! I’m actually back to my novel & shouldn’t be so long-winded... I’m hopeless! 😘🦇⚡️J.

I kinda like the color that was underneath the paint
My bag’s color changed after cleaning it with soap water and aldo bag cleaning wipes. I don’t know what happened and its not off white now changed color.. i need help with it
thank you....interesting vid...you`ve totally got more patience than the me.......I`d dye it
But if you dye it dark brown it may look more authentic, with different hues, otherwise I would dye it black🙉
Would of been better off removing the paint with a small bit of sponge. Would do a larger space and get in the lines.
Can you use acetone instead of deglazer or preparer?
Hi! Yup! You totally can.
@@itsHadrian thank you! I subscribed and have been basically binge watching your videos! So helpful 💕
To be honest, since you asked for our opinions...the bag looks a bit shabby or un-cared for at this point rather than distressed...I think it needs the color refreshed in some way...it needs more lovin'!
Can somebody just give me a brief comment on what he's using to remove the leather paint that was there
Hi! I use a leather deglazer by angelus. I linked it in the description box below, but here is the link for you as well: amzn.to/2cGnlHD
Hadrian I think that the bag looks so bad right now I would dye it a dark Mahogany Brown or Black. The Dark Brown would vary a little bit in color and give it the used look. The Black would make it look more new. I would use a dye not paint.
Leave it distressed. It reveals the "story" of the bag.
I like the finish without dying it but I think if you were to dye it black it would be stunning!
Black would be a great color!
I LOVE your videos
Dye it black and it will be stunning!!
I would dye it navy maybe, that would be pretty
You can't use cotton balls
Hello hadrian from Toronto.
Dye it black... for sure
I love the distressed look. 😉
I wish I had half your patience 😓
Dye it black 😍
Dye it black 👍🏼
Dye it black!
Dye it Burken orange!!!!!!!🍊
Alika Tara Nelson - That would be GORGEOUS, but I don’t think it would cover the dark stains sadly😕. 💚🦇⚡️Jet
Please dye the bag
