I have the beginning stages of MD. I am 74 and have changed my diet to ketovore/carnivore. MD seems to be improving..if I can stop it from progressing, I would be happy.
@@marlenebtagelman2451 It’s been another year and my dad is still doing great. MD has still not progressed, thank the Lord! If a Southern man who used to eat mashed potatoes and pork chops once a week can do this, then so can you. You’ve got this!!
I am at my intermediate stage of MD now i see a little bit blurry for example i can't see whats written on the board or font 11-12 size material and I'm 22 years old. Can i use extra virgin olive oil or mustard oil to saut my veggies??
@@nagmabegum2232 the carnivore diet supports animal fats, not processed ones, giving up plant based oils is key to any type of healing as they are highly processed and toxic (even olive oil); also the same diet does not support eating veggies, in general....do research on it for yourself as that is best, if you try carnivore do so for a bit perhaps two weeks or so, and see how it effects you...and additionally, look into other types of toxins to avoid such as personal hygiene products, laundry detergents, home cleaners, and go w/the ones that are non-toxic (stay away from name brands, they are the worst)...anything you put on your skin goes straight to the liver for detox and burdens the liver and prevents/stalls healing....best of luck to you...
This is ABSOLUTELY TRUE! My husband was diagnosed with early stage MD 3 years ago. This year, after only 6 months of Keto eating, there is NO SIGN of it at all! So, so thankful!!
Genetics loads the gun, but diet and lifestyle pull the trigger I'm 65 and have had both Macular degeneration coupled with diabetic retinopathy. I got BOTH barrels unloaded on me. I have been Keto/Carnivore over two years and I can attest to the fact that you CAN stop these things from advancing. some damage is irreversible, BUT, my eyes have not gotten worse and have actually improved, to the amazement of my eye doctor.
Look into dmso eye drops. THE DMSO HANDBOOK FOR DOCTORS. THE PROTOCOL AND AMAZING STUDY RESULTS ARE IN THERE. THE BOOK IS JUST OVER 10 DOLLARS. GOOD LUCK!
I had been diagnosed with wet AMD in my right eye in 2016. I was getting injections of Regeneron's Eyelea for the next 6 years. I was told that I would have to continue these injections for the rest of my life. These injections aren't cheap - $3000 per shot plus $750 to administer each one. I was getting them at least 6 times per year. The interval between each injection was variable and determined at each visit to the doctor. Well - in 2022 I was told that I no longer have this "incurable" disease and as of December 2023 I still don't have it. So what happened? Coincidently in 2022 I stopped eating processed foods, eradicated most sugar from my diet, cut way down or carbs 20-25g / day, lost 25 pounds and my wet AMD miraculously disappeared. I guess it is just a bizarre coincidence or maybe magic.
@@nasneenshabin7893 To this day my retina specialist says I do not have wet AMD and he only wants to see me once per year. My last visit with him was in December 2023. I don't go back until December 2024.
Pudgey, you went Keto……..which MEANT ditching the carbs, which include sugar. But, you never mentioned seed oils ! And you STILL got rid of it ? I am amazed, because I have done the same thing for 3 years…….yet only get worse. Now, it DID turn 2 diseases around, but NOT my eyes !

Interesting. I'm 64 with no macular degeneration yet, and since I'm on day 4 of my new ketogenic/IF lifestyle (thanks to your videos), hopefully I won't ever have to deal with that. The canola oil went in the trash on day 1, along with the "Smart" Balance, and I'm now using extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil and butter. I'm well into ketosis, and already feeling much better - today was the "mental clarity day." Thanks for what you do, Doc, it's a true public service.
Don't forget to utilize the tallow left after cooking meats. I'm nearly completely carnivore at this point and I keep my tallow so I don't have to spend so much for olive, avocado or coconut oil. Careful shopping makes meat easily more affordable.
💥 Don't ever use olive oil on the fire. Don't cook with it. It gets even worse than seed oils. Olive oil should be used only raw, put into salads, etc. 🙏👍
I had insulin resistance, neuropathy, macula degeneration, and osteoarthritis in 2021. Once I discovered my symptoms, thanks to the UA-cam Guru. I immediately went on Keto diet and OMAD. I turned all my illnesses around.l after 21 days. The ophthalmologist was stunned with my eye. He couldn’t believe the diet could make a difference. My diet was highly processed foods, refined carbs, and bad oils. I have been on a clean diet and intermittent fasting lifestyle for 18 months. I feel great. Clean diets, intermittent fasting, quality supplements, exercise, clean air, water, and quality sleep are the way to well-being. Health is wealth! I was 53 when I got all the above health problems.
Dr. Berry. Thank you for all your info. As a pastor, I am so happy to be able to share this with my church members who, like me, were led to believe wrong information about diet and health. God bless you for telling us these truths!
@@misottovoce Well, there are cheap foods that aren't bad foods, like beans or eggs. When I take food to a potluck dinner, I sometimes take deviled eggs or salad. My mother makes three beans salad or green peas. Those are cheap but they aren't processed foods or loaded with white flour or sugar. The foods I usually see are cakes, pies and brownies. People are making very dangerous choices in what they eat. The people at church at not poor people.
@@HeleneLouise You are right...eggs, beans are inexpensive, but I wasn't addressing those. The absolute cheapest and worst foods are those made with mainly flour and sugar - cakes, brownies and pies.
I started feeling difficulty in focusing from short distance to long distance. I cut out sugar, veg oils, started taking fish oil and ate more fatty meats. Problem solved.
As an optometrist I can tell you that this is definitely taught and I speak to all my at risk patients about the importance of diet. Avoid processed oils, good ratio of omega3 to omega6, and diet rich in Lutein and Zeaxanthin (plus not smoking and UV protection). I also remind patients that even if they only use olive oil when cooking, if they go out to eat or eat things from a box/can, they likely contain processed oils and to start checking labels!
I'm 75 and in the early stages of Macular Degeneration. I just started Carnivore, and I will be so thankful if C cancels out, or helps MD. Astounded to see comments reporting floaters have reduced! Will be interesting to see what my eye checkup will show next spring! Thanks so much for all your info. 💖💕
Thank you for this video!!! My husband is 46 and is losing his vision due to this condition. We have been eating a ketogenic diet rich in REAL fats and whe foods for about 10 months and he has reversed his Type 2 diabetes, but we have yet to see any improvement in his retinal condition. Keeping the faith and ketoing on!
My father and my Maternal Grandmother both have/had AMD so I have obviously been concerned. I went keto about 18 months ago and am now carnivore so not a drop of industrial gate grease passes my lips! Thanks to Dr. Robert Atkins, then Dr. Ken Berry and then Dr. Shawn Baker for opening my eyes to true healthy eating.
Strange. I was diagnosed with early MD about 15 years ago. Since then, I have had annual visits to four different ophthalmologists and not one has told me to change my diet other than to take a vitamin pill.
Dr. Berry you are one in a million! Watching your videos improved my overall health sigificantly. I bought your book and sent the links of your videos to my friends who are being manipulated by big pharma and ignorant doctors. Unfortunately, SAD has invaded our cuisine even here in Turkey and as you may guess every disease related to high insuline is booming. Sadly doctors are the most resistant group to be convinced they just refuse to read and learn. Stockholm syndrom or what!? Thank you again. You do have fans overocean.
My poor mother just died in November at age 81 and was almost completely blind from AMD. She was an avid reader and it was so sad to see her robbed of her greatest joy. Most of us children have the genetic risk for AMD per DNA tests. I was just diagnosed with slight beginnings of AMD in one eye at age 63. Thankfully I have been on the keto diet since 1999 [we called it Atkins] so I am halfway there. I will add the daily spinach and the sardines. I have shared your videos with my brother and sisters. Thank you, Dr Berry!
You can skip the epic introduction and go to 7:14 - "The most important cause of AMD - consumption of industrial seed oils". Polyunsaturated vegetable oils have of course also been fingered as: 1. The main cause of artery disease 2. A major cause of mitochondrial damage and cancer. Sugar, grain and vegetable oils have been called "the trifecta of junk food". Vegetable oil has a good claim to be the worst offender. It's rise parallels the rise of the metabolic diseases. Popular pressure dramatically reduced trans fats in the food chain. It's time vegetable oil went the same way.
My father and his mother had wet macular degeneration and went legally blind. I have changed my diet and am going to change the statistic! Thanks for all of the info!
My grandmother developed macular degeneration in her 90's. It is important to understand that it is not limited to older adults. When I took her to the doctor, there were patients with macular degeneration who were in there 20's or teens.
I’ve never been diagnosed with MD, I’m 59 but at my eye exam last week the eye doctor told me my vision has improved from just a year and a half ago. The only thing I did different was start my keto lifestyle! All of my bloodwork numbers are “excellent” to quote my doctor. I never felt better in my life. Oh and I’m down 55l lbs! Listen to Dr. Berry! He is absolutely right on his advice! 💖
Keto reversed my husband’s diabetic retinopathy in less than a year!...also reversed all other diabetic markers!...P.S. Healthy Keto...no seed oils! Sure ticks me off when I see canola oil in the health food store!
@@MrDavidknigge haha...yeah. At this point I am certain Oz is big-pharma paid "limited opposition" shill. As in, a form of distraction trotted out in public presenting "alternative health" truths...but sharing only a partial truth. To keep people from digging even deeper to get at root causes! Which would wipe out big Ag, monsanto,/big chem, big pharma, the "health" insurance scamdustry, and the medical scamdustry...all at once. Thus obliterating the wealth base of the elites who really run everything behind the scenes... It goes very, very deep. And never ever believe you've hit the "bottom" of so-called truth...
My mom has ADM. My eye dr said he may see the start of AMD in my right eye and he immediately wanted my to take supplements and he had a can of spinach on his desk picked it up and said eat this, and lay off the snicker bars. I told him I don’t eat any sugar at all. I have been eating keto for 2 years and meat based the last6 mths. I don’t and never have eaten the keto treats processed foods only clean keto. I only eat Whole Foods meat, butter, bacon, eggs, some dairy and a few low carb veggies here and there. When you look up AMD everything says stay away from meat and fats - eggs raise cholesterol propaganda . I knew I had to find a video on this from you to hear the truth. I looked up these supplements and they are found in egg yolks which I eat regularly. Thank you for passing on this important information
Yes it can be reversed through diet!! I have it!! And i have good results and I'm giving the glory to the lord!! My doctor knows it he got mad at me for not going and getting the shots!! Oh well. We need to be our own doctor RESEARCH!!
Go 100% carnivore. All plants are toxic. The human body should not be eating plants. It is not designed for plant eating. Just meat eating. Humans are obligated carnivores. Drop the rest of the plants, get off the keto diet, the one which allows any plants anyway, and go full on carnivores, which is a ketogenic diet, without the plant toxins.
Thanks. I've been told I have drusen in my eyes. I did not know that seed oils were the problem. I was trying to optimize autophagy to get rid of the drusen. I read that zeoxanthin and lutein are important for eye health and they are both in egg yolks. I am taking a multivitamin and vitamin d any way just to be sure. I am looking forward to more videos on this subject.
I took a 23 & Me genetic test which says I have a mildly increased risk of AMD. I’m so glad to know I can out-and-out just prevent/avoid getting it! Thanks, Dr. Berry! 🙏😁
Whats more frustrating is we know which foods and ingredients are toxic and slowly break down the body and we're unable to ban, get rid of it from the stores/production
As I am an Optometrist, I know what we should know, Ive gone Keto/Carnivore recently, Im pretty convinced from both the conventional advice and what Ive been learning about Keto/Carnivore that diet has a huge effect, but we definitely know Smokers are a huge risk.
I was diagnosed with “Precursors” to AMD about 1 year ago (age 68) and started taking the AREDS2 vitamins. They make no difference in how my eyes feel as I also suffer from dry eyes. I am already on Keto and will be sure to watch the research videos. Thanks so much!
Dr. Berry-thank you once again for the video. When you mentioned Avastiin, I really sat up. I've had injections of that in one eye, not because of degeneration but because fluid is leaking from the retina. My eye doctor saw that and referred me to a specialist. I got the diagnosis when I was 49 and the injections have not helped. The specialist told me that what caused it was high blood pressure, but I have never had that. I've been keto for a while now and still going so the inflammation in the eye MAY go down. At least it won't get worse. Thanks for bringing things like this to our attention.
270 early November. I’m at 246 today. Dec 20. About 24 lbs. I’m not working out spending most of my days studying in a chair. I walk about 1 mile in the evening with my dog. Keto definitely works.
Andy Sabo I’m a 67 year old woman, five foot three. After menopause I went up to 242, now 136. I feel great! No health issues and take no meds except B12. Am on a keto diet. Keep at it you will reach your goal, and it’s worth it.
Laura Scott the key is to be able to cook recipes that are both healthy and tasty. If all I had to eat was tofu and lettuce I’d still be eating at In N Out Burger :).
Thank you for this I think I may have this but I started the carnivore diet and I will keep you updated on my progress but again thank you I know you were sent by God do help all of us to live a healthy life ❤you so much thank you 😊
I went to the eye Dr yesterday. I no longer have drusen. (Previously diagnosed by 2 drs. that I had it). Been 75% carnivore, a few fresh fruit & veg with a rare SAD snack at bday parties. So excited makes me want to up my carnivore intake %.
Thank you for this info! I’ve been diagnosed with dry macular degeneration. Currently, I’m also experiencing developing cataracts in both eyes. I am Very nearsighted and have had vitreous detachment. So I am very concerned about my eyesight.
@@jaconnelinley7469 I’ve been very low carb/carnivore for over a year. I no longer have macular degeneration. I did go ahead and have cataracts removed from both eyes this last year so I’m doing much better, thank you.
Please do make more videos on his subject!! I have a disease called retinitis pigmentosa which causes macular degeneration. It is causing sever tunnel vision, night blindness and eventually total blindness. Started in my early 20's I'm now 48. It's effecting every aspect of my livelihood imaginable. My diet is ultra clean and other than this disease I'm super fit and healthy. Thanks for your work.
I was showing signs of kidney damage and diabetes. I started getting very thirsty, frequent urination, frothy urine, and one morning I woke up and my far side vision was way off. My body was obviously trying to tell me something so I started researching. I immediately changed my diet to straight carnivore and something interesting happened. After about 3 days my high urination frequency stopped; my thirst stopped; my cravings for sugar and carbs stopped; I sleep better; and my far side vision not only came back but it seems like it's slightly better than it was before but my near side vision got worse. It's almost like my entire vision spectrum shifted. Since I was eating carbs and sugars my vision maintained a sort of baseline for many many years and then when I started showing those symptoms it got worse then when I cut out the carbs and sugars completely, my vision corrected itself beyond my previous baseline. So now I'm just trying to figure out what to do about my near sightedness getting blurrier.
I was diagnosed with macular edema few months after cataract surgery...I'm so glad you're talking g about this. I was just dx and was told it was mild.
Thanks Doc. I started to have macular degeneration in one eye. The shade coming down and the red line out to the cornea. After adding 10,000iu vitamin A per day it stopped and the red line is gone.
Thanks DOC from a 73 yr old man who knows down deep yu are seeing this correct when others are blind . I got AMD about 8 years ago & had eye injections in right eye. , But injections failed to stop blindness in right eye. My left eye has dry macula & I'm very grateful for still being able to see & function without a white stick or canine friend. At the time my vision was deteriorating I took a hard look at diet & ate less processed foods & tried to follow a more keto diet . I can't say with certainty I get below eating 50 grams a day of carbs , although I read food labels , & avoid seed oils even with sardines.
I wanted to share with you Dr. Berry one more thing that causes MD, cell phones. My diet has had some processed in like brats. But I don't have oils other than a small amount of olive oil and avocado oil. for a good while I had to many carbs. But have leaned a lot and have a low carb ketovoire diet. But, when I had to work and use my phone. I found suddenly I started having trouble seeing. It got bad so I went in and sure enough I have MD. My thought is when I would stop using the phone I got better and also when diet was good I did well on my vision. while researching I found a doctor who said the UV rays from the sun, blue light is one thing that can cause this. Wow, now I know why it bothered me so much. I have tried to stop using my phone all I can and my eating is great. I pray I can stop it. Thank you for informing all of us so we can be healthier.
I have a double copy. I've always worried about vision loss due to family history. My eyes started to get progressively worse every year since I was around 8 years old. At 28 now, my eyes are HORRIBLE, so bad that my eye doctor doesn't carry my strength in contacts, they have to order them, but since I started keto/carnivore a year ago, my eyes have not gotten any worse. This is the first year since 8 that my vision hasn't gotten worse. I wish I would have started this diet sooner. I could have saved my vision 😔
My friends eyes were so bad he could not get the aggressive correction surgery here in the US, he had to go to Canada and after the surgery he never wore glasses again...
@@Bass.Player oh wow, that's awesome! I've gotten a vision correction consultation a few years ago but they basically explained that since my eyes get progressively worse each year, they could only correct them to a certain point but I'd still need glasses/contacts so they wouldn't recommend doing it. The doctor wasn't really confident that he could correct my vision to a noticeable amount and for thousands of dollars, it wasn't worth it. Now that my eyes aren't getting worse, I wonder if that'd be a possibility? I may be looking into vacationing in Canada 🤣
Macular degeneration runs in my family ,when my daddy died 3 yrs ago ,he had it in both eyes and was blind..my ma still living, she lost her sight in one eye and gets injection in her other one to save it.!! I had mine checked,I'm 54, I have slight early stages, I am taking Areds vitamins, eating spinach everyday and cut out all those oil, only use olive oil and coconut.. and do keto.
A doctor friend of mine discovered that glutathione IV"s help macular degeneration. I have a copy of the report he published in case anyone would like to see it.
I have had AND for 11 years, it turned wet about 5 years ago And I can honestly say I have not had industrial seed oils for over 30 years Coma coma I just have not. Sugar and carbs yes, On and on through the years... but not the oils I wish there was more research And I'm glad that you have shared what you have because most people have had a steady diet of seed oils.😊
I drank Saffron tea and the wet has completely dried up.. I only had 4 injections. The Professor is interested in examining my condition next week as they are stunned at the speed of recovery.
Hi Dr. Berry, does seed oils also cause glaucoma? Hope you can make a video about that, thank you for all your research and info you share, getting healthier day by day!
Thank you muchly for this video, was worried, as my Dad had this. No dodgy oils for 17 months now, hardly ate much before anyways. Great information. Thanks again, take care, & Happy Christmas to you & yours. ❤🙂🐶🎅⛄🎄
I have the Dry....I’m 64....had it for five years.....my Dad was Blind when he died....my sister passed in July practically Blind and my brother And sister have it....it’s awful! Thanks for this information!
Seed oils are excellent for bar oil in electric chainsaws and release agents for concrete work. No need to waste the industrial lubricant. Just don't eat it. Although if you can afford it, olive oil works better.
This is very interesting but also perplexing. We are in Europe, junk food and processed food was never our lifestyle, deep fried foods very rarely (one, twice a year??) and seldom used vegetable oils. We use olive oil profusely as well as since about a year since I am on keto, more healthy animal fats. Before it was olive oil and coconut oil as well as butter...very rarely sunflower seed oil. Since a year, there is no veg oil in the house. My husband's dry macular degeneration is now wet and he is on his second round of injections. The only possible connection he had before he met me was eating out in restaurants frequently where possibly oil used was vegetable mixed with olive oil. This is perplexing...veg oils never were his lifestyle.
misottovoce I had 20/20 vision before a doctor gave me Ceftin an antibiotic. Within maybe two weeks my vision changed. Now I have cataracts and macular degeneration. If the doctors knew that it might be from drugs, they would not say anything because they will be attacked by the pharmaceutical companies.
The seed oils sneak into things like cakes and biscuits and various ready-made foods that we don't necessarily think of as having seed oils in them. Look at the ingredients in things like bottles of salad dressing or sauces. You'll find the seed oils there. Many of these things are marketed as "healthy" and "natural". Again, you may eat small amounts of things like chips at parties, they are made with seed oils.
@@resourcedragon Thanks for your comment, but like I mentioned...we do not eat processed foods. No salad dressings except local grown olive oil and vinegar, chips/crisps just not our thing and I never, ever buy anything with an ingredient list...so none of those 'healthy and natural' but junk foods. Sauces...I make my own. Fries/chips are abysmal here in Spain, so we don't eat them and I rarely deep fry...and when I use lard from free range Iberica pigs or goose/duck fat. When I buy canned fish,, it is either water packed or olive oil. This is why it is so perplexing about my husband's dry macula changing to wet macular degeneration. He is a smoker, albeit now rolls his own from pure tobacco and is smoking much less...still he will not give them up entirely.
@@despinachristakis1485 So sorry to hear that. Cataracts and macular degeneration within such a short time? Wow. Hmmm....I wonder what the track record is for Ceftin.
Real grass fed organic butter, organic extra virgin olive oil, organic extra virgin coconut oil. No prepackaged foods. No processed foods. I buy single-ingredient foods almost exclusively. e.g. organic broccoli, grass fed humane certified organic liver, wild line caught Alaska salmon, etc. Plenty of veggies and some fruit - Organic only. Those who say this is too expensive are not considering that if you are fat adapted and eat mostly keto and do intermittent and longer fasts, you will be eating less food and not be hungry at all. And they are not considering how expensive it is to be on the long road to dying of these diseases largely caused by insulin resistance such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes type 2, alzheimer's.
Well, not sure about that. My mom not only lives in Colorado, but has been a health food & vitamin nut since she was 40 or so. Now she’s 80 and has wet MD. She’s eaten no processed food and nothing but organic for 40 years. Not sure about her oil intake though, because she’s pretty much a vegan. I’m a diehard carnivore and don’t eat grains or bad oils anymore, so time will tell I guess.
Off topic, but a video on how to deal with extended stay visitors who do not do IF and who eat SAD would be appreciated. Thanks for so many informative and interesting videos.
My ophthalmologist missed mine until it was wet & I couldn't drive safe anymore. The only way he finally found it was, because I INSISTED he listen to me & listed all my symptoms and concerns. 😡 I heard an ophthalmologist, here on UA-cam, talk about the very same thing you just said.
I Have been adding more spinach, thank you. For now I have just fallen hard.. I made a holiday treat and started eating it. I’m better this year but not perfect.
Thank you so very much ch. Absolutely, Not to forget the scaring number, worldwide, of autism. Merry Christmas. Hope to share more vids from you soon. Happy 2020.
I'm 71 and have a cataract in my right eye. Call me crazy, but in the past three years since I switched from seed oils to paleo/keto/coconut oil/olive oil/avocado oil, I swear that my cataract has become significantly less cloudy. Back then I was ready to have it operated on but now there is no way I would want to have the procedure. Everything else has improved about my health too. I take no medicines and would now only consider going to a doctor for a broken bone or significant accident. It is to the point now that I am unable to graph the decline of my health and life in a predictable way! Still, it makes me so very sad and angry to walk through a standard super market and even any random natural food store. So little healthy food in these places to eat. And at my age, it is really difficult to see my family, friends, and even strangers dropping like flies from preventable premature decay all around me. Excuse me, I have to go lift weights now.
Ok, now this is a mystery for me. I am 77 and was diagnosed with AMD 14 years ago. I have eaten a low carb diet since about 1996. I have had seed oils ever so occasionally, like birthday cake. I always cooked with butter, olive oil and avocado oils. I did live in a Caribbean country for fourteen years and was exposed to UV rays. I am overweight but did lose 100 lbs. about thirty years ago with gastric bypass and have kept that off plus/minus 5# here and there. I have taken Macu Health since I was first diagnosed as well as vitamin A. I do carry a varient for AMD but was told it may be passed but I wouldn't get it. LOL I started Carnivore on Dec 26 2024 with Dr. Berry's PHD Pro challenge and hoping it will help. I am 20/20 in left eye and 20/30 in the right. The right is wavy and the left eye is not but they work together to keep me seeing reasonably well and able to knit and drive. Does alcohol play a roll? I am alcohol free for two years now. I saw my doctor annually after diagnosis and then changed that to twice a year about 8 years ago. I am confused too with Dr. Berry's recommendation of 1 cup of spinach for AMD. It was in an updated 2024 posting. I have not been eating it and with Carnivore now I am definitely not eating it but should I be eating it? I would add that I don't have need to take medication for any medical condition. All my bloodwork is good. I am pretty healthy for my age except for AMD.

I went Keto 2018 & NEVER cheated, in 2023 I was diagnosed with MD. & the Ophtalmologist said it was probably due to the V@ccine or C@vid. I test every 6 months & it's one eye & mild. Been Carnivore/ Flex for 6 months.
That rings a bell with me. Had cataract surgery. Asked technician if they saw any signs of glaucoma or AMD because it runs in my family. They said no. Caught mild covid on last visit for the surgery. Had eye exam about a year and a half later that showed moderate AMD. I have been wondering what could have caused it in so short a time. May have been the covid I caught at the eye surgery center.
I'm 69 and "moderate" diagnosed early 2023 first time. Why was I diagnosed early 2023 first time and at moderate when I was seeing a Retinologist for the past 4 years? Why wasn't I ever diagnosed minimal first? Can MD advance extremely fast where suddenly I'm "moderate". Also I have the dry form so far. The supplement they push, "PreserVision AREDS" is $37 for a bottle of 120 tabs... The specialist told me it won't reverse it but will slow advancement down. My eyesight with glasses was 20/20. I was a vegetarian 32 yrs using olive oil, yet mayonaise usually had canola oil and I had a lot of that. Went carnivore diet 6-24-22 and was diagnosed AMD about 5-23. My mother had it and had to have a laser treatment for it to stop the veins I think from bleeding and/or advancing. She I think was diagnosed in her early eighties.
This video is very good. I have Doynes Honeycomb Macular Dystrophy..DHMD... Unfortunately, the degeneration is genetic. The guidelines and recommendations made by Dr Berry will, however, slow the effects and I would also suggest that certain dietary supplements can and will slow the progression in both age related and genetic macular diseases. Good video
I was diagnosed with what my doctor said is genetic macular degeneration. I have been taking extra supplements for the past 6 months. She said for now it is stable.
I take eye nutrients and exercise my eyes every day, and it keeps the AMD I have at bay. Actually my vision has improved, but AMD comes right back if if I stop my eye maintenance practices.

My dad stopped MD dead it’s tracks. He went Keto last January and cut out the oils/processed food. This really works and YOU CAN DO IT!!
Thanks for giving me hope!!

I have the genetics too. My younger sister had been diagnosed with MD, I have been on Atkins then keto for 15 years. I have no sign of MD.
Did you eyes got fully recovered from AMD
@@nasneenshabin7893 To this day my retina specialist says I do not have wet AMD and he only wants to see me once per year. My last visit with him was in December 2023. I don't go back until December 2024.

I started keto 16 months ago and simply save the rendered fat from meat and bacon to cook with. I stopped buying cooking oil 6 months ago.
Don't forget to utilize the tallow left after cooking meats. I'm nearly completely carnivore at this point and I keep my tallow so I don't have to spend so much for olive, avocado or coconut oil. Careful shopping makes meat easily more affordable.
@Sam Saraguy
Congrats and good for you for doing that! Major accomplishment!
💥 Don't ever use olive oil on the fire. Don't cook with it. It gets even worse than seed oils. Olive oil should be used only raw, put into salads, etc. 🙏👍
Beef tallow and bacon grease is great for your eyes and body.

My 85 YO mom has early stage MD. Her opto told her to take Areds vitamin. I got her into keto and off bad oils. We'll see her progress next visit.

Right, it's not just eyes, it's the whole body, with many diseases that are increasing dramatically, including cancer, these bad oils promote.
Thank you so much for sharing! That is how we will change the world
@keto cycler I've noticed this too. It's frightful to see how people eat and somehow the churches seem to have the worst food.
@@HeleneLouise It is the 'worst food' because it is the cheapest type of food.
I'd actually make an appointment at the eye doctor if you were in the neighborhood. 😉

Oh my gosh you've been on keto since 1999 😮 are u still on it currently in 2024
You can skip the epic introduction and go to 7:14 - "The most important cause of AMD - consumption of industrial seed oils".
Polyunsaturated vegetable oils have of course also been fingered as:
1. The main cause of artery disease
Great video, Doc. Thanks for posting this. I'm an optometrist and I look forward to viewing the attached videos and research!

How is your vision at this point?

Hi, Dr Berry!☺️ Thank you for speaking on this topic.
Incredibly helpful and hopeful video. Thank you!
Just sent this information to my brother. Thanks
Why are our doctors not telling us about the eye exercises we need. Also how chemical eye dilation is very bad for you.
I Have been adding more spinach, thank you. For now I have just fallen hard.. I made a holiday treat and started eating it. I’m better this year but not perfect.
Thank you so very much
ch. Absolutely,
Not to forget the scaring number, worldwide, of autism.
LOL
I started Carnivore on Dec 26 2024 with Dr.
Good morning dr.ken berry team I gave you guys a like on this video! it was awesome and very needed information.
I was hoping you guys can fit in your schedule to do a video on baby food baby snacks and baby formula because my wife is expecting our second child and I want to do a better eating habit since I’ve been following you guys. But I definitely want to be more educated on the baby products formula, food snacks and even shampoos. This would be very much appreciated. keep on keeping on, you’re doing great 👍
I went Keto 2018 & NEVER cheated, in 2023 I was diagnosed with MD.
I've wondered about this. Thanks for a great video. I had supposed it was somehow due to carbs.
Its so funny the way Dr. Berry said "I cant believe it's not butter".
I can say that my eyesight has gotten better so I'm going to be excited to go to my doctor to see how my macular degeneration is.
