This is one of the dumbest cameos ever. Having Doc just randomly come in and say "Great Scott!" in a western paraody isn't smart, it's just pure laziness. They could've used this opportunity to re-enact one of the scenes from the movie. That would make a better cameo. But this cameo sucked just like all the other cameos in this terrible movie.

Yes, we all know the real reason is probably Michael J. Fox most likely couldn't do it given his present condition, but movie-wise, think of it as before Marty went to get him. Lol Another note, real BTTF nerds will notice that this is the wrong version of the time machine. Right before Doc throws the sheet over it, you can see that it has the plutonium reactor from the first movie, whereas the one in the Old West from Part III would have been the later incarnation with the Mr. Fusion on it.

At the end of the day its just a cool cameo
My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw this part. The whole movie I was thinking, this reminds me a lot of back to the future part 3.. then they showed this and I was floored. Back to the Future is my favorite movie trilogy of all time. It was greatly expanded upon after the 3rd movie with the telltale series of games. It was supposed to be continued but well..telltale went under.

It's so sad how Gen Z seems to have no knowledge of pop culture pre-2000. It seems like soany 19 and 20 year olds these days outright refuse to watch anything from before they were born because "It's old" and therefore they don't like it...without even seeing it. Even worse, it seems like many of them acknowledge older films, but will never watch them, saying they want them to be remade so THEN they can watch the remake.

And it has a story that goes into Doc Brown's past and the nature of Marty's friendship with him and really it's just goddamn amazing why are you still reading this comment go get it.

They used the wrong version of the DeLorean Time Machine, the one that got sent back to 1885 via lightning strike was the 2015 upgraded version with the Mr. Fusion nuclear power generator. This DeLorean is the original 1985 version with the plutonium powered reaction chamber. For a so-called '80s movie nerd I can only say, *" Dingus!"*

Its fitting that they featured the BttF3 Doc here since this movie is all about learning to walk away from petty grudges, specifically pointless gun duels, and if walking away isn't an option, there's no shame in cheating to survive especially if the person you're dealing with is a cheater themselves.
They kind of missed an opportunity here: having Doc and Marty running around in the background re-enacting the events of Back to the Future 3.

I love how they made such a genius cameo scene in this movie!
They used the wrong version of the DeLorean Time Machine, the one that got sent back to 1885 via lightning strike was the 2015 upgraded version with the Mr. Fusion nuclear power generator. This DeLorean is the original 1985 version with the plutonium powered reaction chamber.

Michael DeSanta it was also damaged so maybe he’s repairing. Look closely that might be Mr fusion laying on its side on the car. Also it’s probably easier to hide it under a sheet without a little steeple on it lol

did anyone even notice in the scene they had his famous refrigerator ? with the ice collector at the end.. its reversed.. and the barn isnt the same big one but i think it shows the begining of when doc showed up... and the town has electricity? lol all those window lights etc.. they used oil filled lanturns and they back then didnt throw off light that bright woulda been dim at best and yellowish not like a normal halogen bulb come on seth consistancy lol
Its fitting that they featured the BttF3 Doc here since this movie is all about learning to walk away from petty grudges, specifically pointless gun duels, and if walking away isn't an option, there's no shame in cheating to survive especially if the person you're dealing with is a cheater themselves.
Grat scott is iconic
so back to the future and django are in the same universe. Awesome.
