  • So the time has finally come guys!! The renovation has started! Our first step is to get out the old 1970's carpet and some vinyl flooring. In case you are just getting caught up, we have sold our house and have bought Steph's ancestral home from the 1880's. This home has been is Stephanie's family since it was built, her grandparents before her, her great-grandmother before that and her great-great grandparents before that. We are still on this journey of moving our family and getting this house ready for us to live here. We are excited for all the possibilities with this house and property as it has land with it, allowing us to expand our homestead goals. We hope you guys will join us on this homestead adventure.
*Please excuse the editing, we got a new camera and editing software and we're still learning the ropes*

Thank you it’s easy to get stressed out in the middle of something like this. We need to be reminded sometimes to find joy in the middle of a mess

Great job guys, I know that this is alot of work. And I really hope that the hardwoods are in good enough shape to save them. Those are the best!

So exciting! We love hardwood floors! We found hardwood floors under carpet in the 1850's farmhouse we are remodeling!

Ours have been painted and repaired a few times. We are going to try and sand them and see what we got under all those layers of paint. Hardwood is so beautiful hard to believe they were covered in paint and carpet. Definitely want to see your 1850s farmhouse remodel

Hannah’s great grandma left if for her. She has been playing while we are demoing the house. There is also a real old church organ that needs a home if you are interested

Great video. You guys got a lot done. I only ask that you consider avoiding vinyl flooring. We personally feel that it's too toxic to be in a home. Honestly, I thought a lot of that carpet was actually pretty neat!

We are looking at different kinds of flooring in a few areas of the house and we are trying to keep hardwood in areas and some areas might get carpet depending on the condition of the floor. I enjoy the style of the old carpet but it had to go. It was about 40 years old and was unhealthy for us. There was also pets in the house so it had to go. Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed the video

I think that's what they did in the 60's and 70's.....not sure

This video was pretty good but it could have used just a little more cowbell. 🤏😆
For real though... carpet is gross!

😂 I got a fever and the only prescription is more cow bell. Yeah it was really old carpet it was pretty bad.
