How refreshing to see an actual farmhouse. No offense to anyone but having signs that say farmhouse or gather or bakery or fresh cut trees .25 is a huge pet peeve I have. THIS is an old time farmhouse and it is gorgeous!! This is my dream home!
Thank you❤️
I agree, It's my pet peeve too!. I'm getting sick of seeing all those annoying signs! This is wonderful. One of my favorites
Lol yes! 😂
It is beautiful! We have inherited my husband family old home. The house he was born in. Debating about selling or restoring it. It does need new plumbing and electricity!
I have to agree! We bought a 1945 homestead and I always tell people when you live in a farmhouse you don't have to advertise it's a farmhouse!
It's so refreshing to see a farm house that does not look like an isle of hobby lobby💜 I hope you will grow your UA-cam channel. I am definitely subscribing.. Thanks for sharing
AMEN! And might I add someone who is not rushing the seasons but enjoying the fact that it is still wintertime.
@@CarlyUTube Amen to your comment about NOT rushing the seasons!!!! This is my new pet peeve with people who do this! Sarah is the first person I've heard address it. I about jumped out of my chair!! LOL!!! And now you! Hey maybe there are more of us.!! Thanks for posting.
I couldn’t agree more with both of these comments. :)
@CarlyUTube “Another one” here! I do not rush to decorate for seasons. It also drives me insane to see stores putting out holiday decor almost 3 months ahead of the holiday.
Lol. With stuff made in China.
Finally, something authentic farmhouse!!
The best farmhouse I’ve seen on your channel! I wondered where this lady had gone! It’s an exceedingly special home! Many try too hard and their homes feel forced - not authentic. I’m longing to see more homes like this one!
What do you mean with trying too hard? I am really want to know :)
Exactly ! Some tends to include features just for the sake of being there without any apparennt connection with the occupants life. I get
What you mean to say
m jj I’ll put it this way. To me, homes look their best when filled with possessions that appear as if they have been amassed through the generations.
Saii Sailo exactly! Way too many homes are filled with cutesy room dandruff or look cookie-cutter. Some are filled with beautifully authentic French brocante that merely serve to collect dust, rather than actually be used. Such practices make one’s home look contrived rather than natural.
What's the difference between a parlor, family room and living room?
9 years ago I bought my old family home back a prayer answered it was in bad condition but still ordinal with the cast iron farm sink it took us time but now it is beautiful again, built in 1947by my father and great grandfather.
We really don't need as much as we think we do.
What a delight it was to watch this video. Simply beautiful : )
That's right!
Stayed in a motel for near 2 mths once. Six cups, six plates, six spoons, one tv, casserole dish ect and loved it. so easy to clean and keep tidy.
I am so happy every thing in your home is not all white. I adore your farm house .
It’s really a nice place
I do like farm house a lot
Such a beautiful home
How are you Janice? I hope you’re safe with your family in this crazy covid?
I love this. I absolutely love hearing other people talk about living simple and I especially love the references to the Little House stories. I reference them so often myself. I also homeschool and live simply. Praise God for others who find inspiration in these simple, solid, and timeless ideals💗🥰
Wow! Sara's home is truly a beautiful, true farmhouse! I adore the way she thinks in staying true to the style ♥
Hi Keri. I miss your videos.
@@soblessed6438 hey there my sweet friend! I sure miss you guys too!! XO
Thanks so much for watching sweet friend!!! Adore Sara's Home too!!!
My daughter has loved B.F. for years! Appreciate this absolutely lovely, truly authentic farmhouse which deliberately yields to heirloom integrity. Thank you for sharing barnyard animals, sage wisdom and precious angelic singing.Have a blessed day.
Longtime follower of Sara, not only is her home beautiful but her family and her lifestyle is truly admirable. Makes you realize what you really need in a home which is family and the time you spend together. Love. Her.
Exactly! Although I love watching everyone's videos I feel like so many are just rushing all the seasons, enjoy the one we are in for a little. Life is rushed enough. You have a beautiful home. Have a blessed day. 🙏❤
🍃♥️🍃 I loved seeing someone keep to the original style of an ole farmhouse and era . It’s nice to see antiques that haven’t all been painted as well . I especially loved how she didn’t have to have stuff and made due with what she had . Having stuff isn’t what’s important in life . Living life itself & living it happy and content is the most important 🍃
Same here that’s absolutely how I feel too. Hi Colette how are you doing with your family I do hope you are safe from the virus?
Thanks for not rushing the seasons! It’s nice to see a home that can actually be lived in and in the moment....time goes by fast enough!
The horse painting is fantastic!
Aww Sarah seems like such a sweet person. She has her Farmhouse decorated so pretty. Tell her thanks so much for inviting us to see her lovely home. God bless her and her family and you and your family also. Hugs!
Awww you sounds really cool
I do like the farm house. It’s beautiful.
How are you ? I hope you’re safe with your family with this crazy covid?
I absolutely love everything about your home! I agree with the way that you decorate. I have owned three period homes, one of which was a Victorian captain's home, and I always let the home dictate the decor. Like you, I don't buy new furniture. I hunt for just the right piece at thrift stores, antique stores, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and even side-of-the road finds - it's amazing what people throw out. I definitely don't follow trends. Period pieces are timeless and crafted with love and craftsmanship. You are a terrific artist, by the way! The horse painting is gorgeous! My husband is also a wonderful artist and I love having his paintings and drawings displayed throughout our home. Opal is beautiful; I love Siamese. Thank you for sharing your lovely home and going into such detail about the home and decor, as well as the stories behind why you selected what you did and explaining how people lived. ❤️
WOW JUST WOW , her home is amazing the real deal LOVE everything
I am so happy you loved the Tour Gina!!!
I have seen alot of home tours, but OMG this is the greatest one I have ever seen!
Oh I am so happy to hear u loved it!
I truly enjoyed this tour with Sara. I could listen to her all day. I love her ideas. The beautiful hutch in the dining room was wonderful. Sara did a lovely job on the cabinet she hand painted the flowers on and her painting of the horse, WOW!!! Beautiful! So gifted. The china was lovely! What a lovely home and environment to raise her children in. And I am so in agreement with her to enjoy and be content in the season we are in. Thanks for sharing with us.
A lovely home filled with vintage treasures. I love the “weeds” that are used everywhere. Pretty kitty too❤️❤️❤️
Same here
I do like farm house
Such a beautiful home
I love the weeds too
How are you Jean? I hope you are doing good with your family in this crazy covid?
Oh my goodness. Oh, I am in love. With this home. Authentic perfection. I have always felt I was born in the wrong Century, LOL. I'm not kidding. . This home has so much love and history. He just can't help. Sensing families from the past , family dinners sharing Farm duties. So much love has gone into this home. The past and the present. This family belongs in this space. I think this home. Deserves to win first place in love in history. God bless the family. . Thank you so very much for sharing your home. . It has restored my faith. In people who respect and love this country's history. . Absolutely, beautiful. . God bless!
Deborah Bender me too! Always loved the farmhouse era
I love Sara Jo's home so much! I just love how cozy it feels.
Aw thanks so much for being here Lisa! I love Sara's Home so much too! ❤ you girl! Just saw u posted a toddler dress tutorial and I have to go check it out. Hugs to you girl! Xoox
Holly
I love your Decour… I love that it’s not like everyone else’s farm house. You have done such a good job decorating with your own personality and not being trendy. Looking forward to seeing more videos of your home and your lifestyle. 🌸
Sandra Weiler it’s like an actual farmhouse.
You know you're living in country paradise when you look out the window and see a chicken strutting by 05:23. Beautiful home. Thanks for sharing.
LOVE everything about this home right down to the farm animals. As someone who grew up watching Little House and someone with a small kitchen I can agree with you that you don’t need a big kitchen to enjoy it and get things done. I will surely be looking for your UA-cam and IG.
Beautiful restoration! Such a lovely old home with a young family to love, enjoy and make wonderful memories in. I bet the original owners would be so thankful to know their home is being honored in this way.
Her home is so beautiful!! Loved everything about it so much!!! One of my favorites!!!! Thank you for sharing!!❤️
I think it's great that she tries and live simple and are true to herself as well as the home! My husband and I just bought a 1890 farm home and we too are just wanting the simple life, the world has gotten lost and ran away from simpler times and god and it's nice to see someone living that way we see it far to less anymore.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️another Beautiful, authentic farmhouse! I love your point of view about not buying into trends! Thank you! I’m so happy to see there is not a single piece of Rae Dunn! Amazing tour😊
I totally agree, trends come and go. Do what YOU love!!
Or a farmhouse sign 🙄. This is the real deal!
Loved this video ! You are so inspiring . We live in a historically renovated farmhouse built in 1841 on 5 acres...also blessed to have the oldest bankbarn left in the county. I have my g- Grandparents parlour furniture and many other family items that i cherish . We have 4 pet goats as well ! I am a big Little House On the Prairie fan ; your kitchen is so cozy ! Thanks for sharing your admirable lifestyle.
Beautiful & a true farmhouse! It is like stepping back in time. Ty, it was lovely to do so.
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this!
Thank you. Thanks so much.
Refreshing.
Wholesome.
Lovely.
Absolutely THE BEST farmhouse..this is the real McCoy and genuine. So nice to see a fresh and natural face..thanks so much !!
This is the sweetest home!
What an amazing treat! Her home is almost the same layout as mine! A few difference with the French door doorway, mine is a little bigger! But I felt like I was in my own home with different color tones!
I am deeply Inspired to see how she is keeping the 1890 feel, etc! Mine is an 1888. Even the outside is highly similar...
THANK YOU HOLLY! I truly needed to see this .... God Bless !!!!
That’s really cool
I do like farm house a lot
Such a beautiful home
How are you Jayne? I hope you’re safe with your family in this crazy covid?
This is amazing to see! My husband and I have one that was built in 1891 that we are in the middle of renovating. It's so refreshing to see someone else that has just as old as a house as us!!!! Thank you for the inspiration!!!
You’re able to keep to a subdued color pallet. It’s really beautiful! I love the idea of keeping true to the spirit of your house.
She has a beautiful home! Very in line with my decorating style and actually staying authentic with decor. I use old ads and books, also tours of abandoned houses and museums to get period correct decor ideas and colors. My grandparents own 4 old farmhouses (a 1927, a 1935, and 2 other pre ‘40s homes. They still have most of original features in them which is great. I also decorate with weeds from our field and forest. I only decorate with used or old authentic items- No hobby lobby or reproduction stuff. I also like farmhouses that have stuff from different decades because that’s what most people did was update at some point-and it can still look good. The house my grandparents live in has 50s and 60s era cabinetry in it but they did a major addition onto the house in the 70s and so there are parts that have that styling. All farmhouse design doesn’t have to be from the 1800-1900s. They actually have a farm with all sorts of animals, etc so any house on a farm is a farmhouse lol 😄
Beautiful as commented no Hobby Lobby look ,We don’t live in a really old house but we’ve made it look older by using what we have ,salvage or hand made both in the house and garden ,l also have my art pieces on show ,Really love your philosophy of keeping it old as well as useful x
What a sweet sweet precious family. Totally enjoyed the tour. In adopting another child is so loving to give another little life wonderful memories in a mommy and a daddy. The only thing I couldn't live without would be a flat screen so I could see the History Channel old home tours HGTV and and just to make sure if there's bad weather in the area to be prepared. Loved, loved, loved the Siamese Kitty I've had one and there so sweet and he was a talker. I don't care what time of day or night he would walk down the hall just meowing. It was so cute. So I'm very sentimental when it comes to Siamese. And that name opal. Too cute. You have a wonderful beautiful, blessed family.
It’s all beautiful! This lady has done a great job. I loved everything!
Such a special treat to see something that’s so Beautiful and true to its times I am so happy you shared your home .
I love everything about your home it beautiful. I was sooo happy to hear you say something like go outside an get decor that God has provided for us. I have only heard people say that nature provided or mother nature. Thank you for acknowledging Our Creator and His creative, loving and generous provision for us. God Bless you and your family. ❤
I love it too
Such a beautiful home
I do like farm house a lot
I hope you’re safe with your family in this crazy covid?
Hi Mrs. Living it Country. I so appreciate what you and your family are doing with your beautiful Gabled Ell Hall and Parlor farmhouse. I, as well, am a committed historical conservationist and restorationist with little room for the house picklers and remuddlers infesting the 'preservationist' movement since the mid--1990's.
I'm not sure where you're located, but I'd bet you're fairly close to Ohio. I say that because I know where the interior trim and moulding finishing lumber originally was milled at, and it's about 7 blocks from my own Gabled Ell Hall and Parlor cottage farmhouse (1 1/2 story version of your home).
I'm in Toledo, Ohio in the first residential neighborhood in the city, currently registered as the Vistula Historic District. The first commercial business opened in 1834, & was the mill mentioned above. It was on Chestnut St, between N. Erie & N. Summit Streets and milled nearly all interior finishing lumber for the emerging middle class to upper middle class residential single family homes, duplexes, and row-mansions in every major city in Ohio from Toledo to Cincinnati using the extensive network of canals and narrow boats.
It was such high quality wood and quality of craftsmanship that by the mid-1870's, it was found as far away as Bowling Green, KY; Huntington, WV; Buffalo, NY; Elmira, NY & Millersberg, PA.
The mill operated between 1834 & 1915, when increased competition from new mills using modern equipment which could produce higher volumes at faster rates, which lowered costs that the Chestnut St mill was unable to keep up with their steam powered flat belt and pulley lineshaft machine equipment, which always produced superior quality materials and maintained traditional methods and techniques for the lifespan of the mill.
Your trim and finish materials are identical to those in a Cleveland Double style duplex, and remain unpainted. I'm fairly sure that what you have under that paint is the same old-growth Tiger Oak heartwood milled trim. The corner roses on your window and door trim work are one of the features unique to the individual finish and trim carpenters who did the design and installation of interior features and built-in cabinetry. They were made individually on a standard lineshaft wood lathe, or sometimes on site with a 'portable machine shop' which was mounted to a massive flatbed horse wagon and provided basic millwork machinery used for the last stages of new home construction.
A lot of houses had their poplar clapboard siding milled onsite with the band saw station on the mill wagon.
I've sniffled through the corners and borders of historic homes in 39 US States, & the Chestnut St mill maintains first place status for milling the most opulent interior features in homes of 1200 sq ft or less, and provided a higher quality of household domestic life for people at the "poverty break-out point" than any other home appliance, feature, or fixture manufacturer or supplier in the US.
I have over a metric crap-ton of original design catalogs, craftsmanship and guild manuals and reference guides, building, electrical, gas and plumbing codes and regulatory texts from 1888 to 1930 as well as several thousand original photos, floorplans, and design and layout graphics all in digital format. Feel free to contact me if you want anything, I didn't incur any costs in obtaining the information so I'm willing to give it to anyone who wants it, I just can't afford to host that many gigabytes of data on a website for easy download. Let me know and I'll send you a list of materials and you'll find the items you need, and I'll get you a manageable package of only the stuff relevant to your project.
I've subscribed here, and look forward to more great stuff from someone who clearly and sincerely cares about the effort originally put into these homes and are actively demonstrating that in every decision made which results in legacy-grade permanence rather than typical replacement of permanent features with disposable products.
I absolutely love your house and love the farmhouse vintage style decor. I can tell you’ve put a lot of time and effort into making it look The way that it does. It’s definitely Going to inspire me in my home interior decorating. Thanks for taking the time to share this.
Absolutely Beautiful , my favorite Authentic Farm Home.
I enjoyed the History Lesson.

I am in LOVE with that kitchen and the staircase. Those long windows and kitchen window are so beautiful. Love the sink and cabinets. All the white with the soft greens 😍😍😍. We have the same color floors- which has given me a new love for that stain color. Thank you. I see all these dark floors, light floors, and I was worried I chose wrong, but seeing them in your home was just what I needed. Love the floral dishes, and that horse painting- WOW!! I have horses all over my home😍. I love it all!!! So glad I saw this video. Will be subscribing tour your channel 😊

The Kitchen is especially charming as there are so many architectural delights in the stairway, beadboard, skinny window and the doors. Super color choices and personal design. Beautiful farmhouse! Absolutely love the dining room.
I love your home so much. I really enjoyed the tour. So much to see and enjoy. I love your sofa and chair, the color of the doors, the whole kitchen! I have a small 1930 kitchen looking similar. The color of the dining room is stunning and all of your furniture is beautiful especially the gorgeous hutch. I also love the outside of the house too. What a beautiful little house you have. I am so inspired by your colour choices and the use of "brownery".
Glad to see that I’m not the only one that is tired of the “new” farmhouse look. Always looking for old authentic farmhouse. This home is so beautiful!

One of the most beautiful, soulful homes I've ever seen!
She is living the true farmhouse style...farmhouse living is more then grabbing a metal sign from Hobby Lobby. How authentic. I loved that she was inspired from Little House on the Prairie.
So lovely.
This is a true farm house, my favorite by far!!! Thanks for sharing!
Wow now this is a true old farmhouse. Reminds me of the house my aunt and her family lived in. Absolutely beautiful!! I love that wide shiplap in the living room!!
