This is much dressier than the Sub. I think that it is more versatile with a wardrobe and job, and can still be worn in the pool or shower. I like the blue dial version over the rhodium.
Get over that cold soon Dylan! I love the Yachty, and have been desiring one for ages now. The best thing about it is the sensuous, rounded case sides - so much prettier than the slab sided Sub cases.
The YM with the dark rhodium dial was love at first sight for me, and I’ve never looked back. Online debates over which Rolexes are sharper than others or which are ugly amuse me because taste is so subjective and because there are so many beautiful Rolex watches, new and used, available for purchase. My personal exception is the YM II, which strikes me as a Rolex parody every time I see it. Btw, Dylan, this is easily my favorite watch channel because your reviews are always so interesting, informative, and entertaining. Cheers!
So great to get the history, I couldn't figure out when I saw this model and fell in love with it why it was called the Yacht-Master. Thanks for making this video!
My choice is the platinum dial YM 116622 with red lettering and red seconds lollipop hand. Its sparkling dial is reminiscent of the shimmering Mediterranean Sea. And it's a solid platinum dial, not some cheap painted brass, good looking but brass nonetheless.
I've owned a 1996 Submariner , a 1999 Daytona, and a 2003 Yacht-master all in steel. Go buy a black Submariner and then you realize every man who can afford it has already got one. And now you understand the game.
Buying the one at 2:32 for my wife (except hers will be the 37mm version...better size for her and it comes with the newer movement) because she won't wear her dressy watch on the beach.
I chose this yatchmaster over the submariner and GMT. Mainly because i wanted an exclusive look, without being to flashy. I’ll never regret my decision :-)
Hi from Holland, I've just ordered the 126622 YM40 Blue Dial and will make a video of it once received. Thanks for sharing this great video of an awesome watch.
...you would not run out of air, because for that you have your pressure gauge showing you the tank pressure, but you would exceed your no decompression limits, which would turn your dive into a decompression dive, of which you would be unaware, and you would end up in the decompression chamber.... so much for the use of the bezel, apart of that, good review, I have a Sub, and would not buy a YM, because I don't like the rounded lugs, but that is just me.
I collected mine last week.... I'm absolutely loving it. The 'slate' dial with the ice blue secondhand is memorising. It's my second Rolex. I have a 'Pepsi' on oyster.
Rocket Queen. That's what I like about the YachtMaster. Sub Mariners are becoming fairly common. The YachtMaster always has good reviews, but is very expensive because of the platinum content, compared to the Sub Mariner. I love my YachtMaster and couldn't care a less what others think.
I guess it depends on whether you actually need the GMT functionality or not. I'm not entirely sure the Yachtmaster is that much better that I'd drop the extra $2500 on it. Plus I actually use the GMT function a lot. If you don't need the GMT function, and a couple of grand isn't a big deal to you, I guess it is personal taste. On the bright side, the BLNR is very popular, you could sell it and get your money out of it super easy.
Great review. Subbed! I recently picked up a Rolex Z-Blue Milgauss GV for my channel and the quality of manufacture is awesome. Would love to see your review of this piece also. Keep up the great content!
The Yacht-Master 40 does not have as you say at 3:58, the standard Oyster bracelet. To quote the Rolex web site featuring this watch. " It is equipped with the Easylink comfort extension link. An ingenious system which allows the wearer to increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 millimetres, providing additional comfort in any circumstance." I must say I am really surprised that you missed this feature of the watch in your review.
It's a very nice watch, and of the Yachtmasters is my favorite. Nice that they even do a smaller version, which my wife likes (for her). I think the YMII is an insane monstrosity with a bizarrely specific utility. Hmm yes, I enter a lot of regattas and definitely need a $40K ugly watch to time them, but I'd like it made of a really soft precious metal so it gets damaged easily... So yes, back to this specific Yachtmaster, I wouldn't mind owning one. But if I were spending my own money on it, I think I'd just go with the Submariner. After all you have the date or no date option, the LV (Hulk), and even a couple of two-tone options, all of which are at or significantly below the price of the Yachtmaster. And personally, I prefer a ceramic bezel to a shiny metal bezel. I once had an Omega Seamaster with a shiny bezel, and it really annoyed me after a time. Granted, it was not platinum, but still. I suspect it would also get beat up more easily than a ceramic.
If the design was for a submariner then it would of been a 600ft minimum diver .. it obviously had nothing too do with the mariner.. the watch is not that blingy and loud like the house your in ? Lol ..
This is my only selection among all Rolex watches. I’ve already started saving up for this beast. Love at the first sight.
Yacht- master rhodium over The sub ❤️
This is much dressier than the Sub. I think that it is more versatile with a wardrobe and job, and can still be worn in the pool or shower. I like the blue dial version over the rhodium.

i really loved this version of yacht master. really elegant and sporty at the same time.
What I like about this watch is everything... so getting one of these
Another excellent review, this has become my favourite watch channel a straight forward honest presentation.
Thanks
Thank you for the support Peter!
I tried this on and immediately fell in love with it. 💜 It felt clean and elegant and some simple compared to the other style /colours etc.
Thank you very much for a great informative review on the Yachtmaster. Very elegant time piece.
Best Rolex in the Catalogue. And I’ve owned almost all of them, so I know of what I speak..
The YM with the dark rhodium dial was love at first sight for me, and I’ve never looked back. Thanks for watching!

Love this watch. About to pull the trigger on it. Already have the Submariner, so this will make a nice addition to my collection.
I've owned a 1996 Submariner , a 1999 Daytona, and a 2003 Yacht-master all in steel. Go buy a black Submariner and then you realize every man who can afford it has already got one. And now you understand the game.
Do you mean, get the stuff that is not at the top of the popularity list?
Buying the one at 2:32 for my wife (except hers will be the 37mm version...better size for her and it comes with the newer movement) because she won't wear her dressy watch on the beach.
I love this watch!!! and I got the submariner already, so this is probably my next purchase))
Enjoyed your review. I love the history background you provide. I just bought YM in blue dial
Really like the sunburst dial of the ym.
I have both the Rolesium and the Kermit. Nothing wears more comfortably than the Yachtmaster. I love my Submariner but the Yachtmaster is my daily.
Got the ND sub and ym40 blue dial to compliment.
Is the entire bezel platinum or is it a platinum insert on top of stainless steel ring?
Beautiful watch !
Great video as usually !
I chose this yatchmaster over the submariner and GMT. Mainly because i wanted an exclusive look, without being to flashy. I’ll never regret my decision :-)
Such a good looking watch!
Yatch master 116622 blue face. First Rolex by choice because it’s so unique and different and under estimated
I just got one for Father's day
Great review, thank you!
Top watch which looks amazing outside in the sun! The numerals glow in the dark making it an elegant timepiece to own which are in great demand,
Hi from Holland, I've just ordered the 126622 YM40 Blue Dial and will make a video of it once received. Thanks for sharing this great video of an awesome watch.
I dont own a Yacht or a boat but I do like these the best VS all other rolex models
excellent review
I’m thinking of buying this watch. Do you know if it holds its value well? Is it worth buying a used one instead?
From what I can see it’s more expensive now (in 2021) on the used market than retail.
god i love the color of that dial
Awsome review 💪🏻 Keep going ✌🏻
You know your watches I have to tell you. thank you for your videos.
Is this 37mm or 40mm?

Great review lad
I collected mine last week.... I'm absolutely loving it. The 'slate' dial with the ice blue secondhand is memorising. It's my second Rolex. I have a 'Pepsi' on oyster.
Sub vs Yachtmaster? Both.
Fact, not fiction.
I love a bit of bling, nice review thanks. 🇬🇧
When was the Yacht-Master 40 model 116622 with Rhodium Dial, Platinum Bezel, and Blue second hand first released / sold?
This watch is awesome - this will be my second Rolex - the blue dial with red second hand.
Hamish Carpenter yatch master is not so popular
Rocket Queen. That's what I like about the YachtMaster. Sub Mariners are becoming fairly common. The YachtMaster always has good reviews, but is very expensive because of the platinum content, compared to the Sub Mariner. I love my YachtMaster and couldn't care a less what others think.
What a great pick for a review!
I wonder if I made a mistake purchasing the BLNR over this piece, what do you think?
Keep up the great work Dylan.
BLNR>>>>Yachty
I guess it depends on whether you actually need the GMT functionality or not.

Nope. BLNR is a great watch and never a mistake.
Thanks David! BLNR is a great 'investment' watch, not a bad decision as long as you got it at a good price
Bijou Diamond Jewellery, thank you for the response. I did get this watch for a good price in my opinion (US MSRP/no tax).
So beautiful
Nice video as always! Would like your review on the Tudor Black Bay.
Great on a white rubber strap. Nice statement piece.
Great video, superb watch !
I really like the everose.
What size is this watch
How much water resitance does it have?
100m
Wow it is really nice. Definitely to get one if available in AD here .
Great review. Subbed! I recently picked up a Rolex Z-Blue Milgauss GV for my channel and the quality of manufacture is awesome. Would love to see your review of this piece also. Keep up the great content!
Thanks!
Very informative!
Waiting for the 126622 new movement. Torn between the blue and rhodium dial!
How different will it be?
Rhodium. No question. Gorgeous and elegant monotone balance
great rolex yachtmaster watch review !!!
excellent timepiece
Stealth wealth 👌
Mine comes in the post tommorow
Silver 🏄 Diver is an awesome watch, wonder when the Wolverine is coming out?
Nice Review!

Love the vids bro
I'm not a very sporty guy but this watch is fucking beautiful....
In my opinion. This blows away the Submariner it is gorgeous
This in blue or dark grey - I cant decide...
Dark grey (rhodium)😍👌
Blue imo, the dial just pops more
I wa t this as everyday watch
I would have two Rolex, this exact model and a 36 mm Explorer. Nice watches
Exactly what I’m getting. Me and my wife trade out. Get 37 and 36
YEEEESS MOOOOORE VIDEOS YEEEEESSSSS
I'm negotiating on this watch as we speak I hope it pans out I will post pics if so..
Daniel Messera how much are you offering for IT? I’m looking myself and don’t want to over pay
I prefer the blue dial though.
Lovely piece thanks for great video, 2.0 is horrendous though
YM 40 with the rhodium dial over every SM IMHO.
Being that this is not a diving watch the dial spins both ways
7in wrist, I choose the 268622

your analysis of the YMll is amazing! haha
The 100m is the absolute deal breaker here. If a watch looks like a diver, than it should be.
Your facts are all wrong mate.....The yacht master is not a diving watch its got nothing to do with the precious metals
👍👍👍
I’m pretty sure you said submariner more than you said yacht Master!
where can I buy the bezel for the SS yacht master
his face distracts me so much.. damn good looking man
Yatch master is not so popular
If the design was for a submariner then it would of been a 600ft minimum diver .. it obviously had nothing too do with the mariner.. the watch is not that blingy and loud like the house your in ? Lol ..
The flute almost scared ... kkkkk
Luv my 116622 with blue dial. Check my Instagram.

Yacht Master II is so awful!
