😎 Thanks for the shout out, Jenni! Believe it or not, that was my very first video! 😎The YM in Rhodium is still one of most beautiful watches they make! 😎
Like all mechanical wristwatches nowadays, the Yachtmaster is a fashion accessory, like a tie or a pair of earrings. At the beginning of most people’s collecting journey, they get caught up with the specs and history of the watches, but after you reach maybe 50-100 watches, it’ll dawn on you that none of that matters, and what really counts is how the watch looks and how comfortable it is. For my part, the Yachtmaster is more comfortable than any of the Rolex dive watches and the dial and blue highlights on the rhodium model are also better looking than the dive watches. It’s a gorgeous watch.
Before I took the plunge, my AD showed me both versions first hand. The rhodium was a great looking watch, but the way the sunlight coming through the store window hit that blue dial, it was game over. Therefore it had to be the 116622 for me.
The YM is one of the most beautiful Rolex watches. It's case is amazing. The bezel is superb. Both the rhodium dial and blue dial are fantastic. It's a dressy sports watch. Highly underrated. Everyone focuses on 1-Daytona, 2-Sub, 3-GMT. Wake up and realize the elegance of the YM. Not every Rolex needs to be a tool watch.
Yacht Masters are so underrated, this one in particular is just absolutely gorgeous. Perfect balance subtle yet very elegant. This is one of the most beautiful Rolex's hands down
I’ve been lucky enough to own many Rolex’s over the years and the Yacht Master, in my opinion, is by far the most beautiful. That’s why I still have it to this day. The think the analogy of the yacht captain wearing the Submariner and the yacht owner wearing the Yacht Master sums it up nicely.
The Yacht Master affords a solution to that phrase, "The two best days of your life are the day you buy your boat, and the day you sell it". With the Yacht Master, you bypass the headache of owning the actual boat ...
You got my love when I heard you said nobody deep dives with a sub. It's so true. Rolex still advertises the Sub as a "professional" model, puts a monstrous and uncomfortable clasp with 200mm of extension on it (?), non sense into today's world. Some might do some diving with it of course but in which proportions really ? So indeed the YM is the best evolution a sub could get, honestly marketed and fairly priced, for now ;) Better case, a discreet touch of precious metal, an astonishing dial and a more appropriate clasp. It could be associated with high luxury yachts, like you said but you forgot yacht racing, sponsored by Rolex as well. Choose your side, luxury or sport :)
The Yacht Master was something of a grail watch for me; the 37mm case sits perfectly, the rhodium face looks astonishing whatever the light, the polished sides that soften the line of the case, and those crown guards that leave you in no doubt as to its toolwatch origins. I couldn't believe my luck when I went to the AD to pick up a Datejust and they had a YM on display... in the end there was no contest and the YM has become my everyday wear.
Do you still like it? I am between the yachaster and the submariner date, I like the 37mm size but I think the sub wears better. On the other hand the sub is too common watch, while the YM seems unique
I have thought for some time that it’s a “sleeper” so it’s encouraging to hear your comments today. I have a small wrist and the YM 40 is perfect. Mine is the choc/ rose gold which is overlooked a great deal. I’m happy about that. I’ve owned it for two years and it was an impulse buy when I passed an AD window and saw it and was able to buy it. I haven’t worn it because of the lockdown, but recently I’ve put it on when I’m not being so active (Apple Watch!). Keep up the good work, you are so informative.
Rolex AD laughed at my mother when she asked them for the price of a Date-Just, she wanted to buy it for my sister's future husband. Just that alone, the sheer disrespect of Rolex's AD's - in my opinion, will be the downfall of the brand from any self-respecting individual. We went over to JLC and bought a Master Control instead, they offered us coffee and treated us like a human being. This whole brand snobbery of Rolex has gotten out of control.
Just like in the grey market, I say buy the seller (or the AD in this case). I have one Rolex AD in Northern California and another in Southern California and they are both fantastic and have treated me with the utmost courtesy and respect. A lot of the ADs you're talking about, I think, are operating on backwards thinking and outdated practices. My ADs always tend to focus on long-term customers and if you can show them that you'll have a good experience.
Hi Jenni, I purchased the Yacht Master 40 with the Rhodium dial 1 1/2 years ago. It has been the best watch purchase so far. I picked it up for a killer price and it has just gone up even as a used watch. The more I wear it the more i like it.
I've got the Rose Gold Yacht-Master with the chocolate dial and it is by far my favourite piece in my collection right now. I love my Submariner and my Daytona too but the Yacht-Master is just... the perfect fit for a lot of occasions. This model is definitively underrated. I'll probably buy the rhodium too.
People need to see this watch in person. Recently I got the rhodium 40. and I have to say it’s is by far the best Rolex I ever owned. It feels more like a Patek / AP level watch. Case is a lot slimmer and the quality is just much more refine than my 41 Sub. It truly wears like a dream.
I purchased the 37mm version with the Rhodium dial in 2017 and I have loved it ever since! It wears so nicely and looks so good to me. I have spent maybe too much time staring at it. At that time I could have purchased a Daytona, Sub, or Milgauss but this one was my favorite after trying them all on.
Totally agreed with everything you said there Jenni Elle! I am still loving my rhodium one having owned it for more than a year. Watchbox, The Timeless Watch, Emkwan and many more channels are echoing the same message on this watch. I guess the market will only appreciate it more once it is discontinued, but for now the supply is still relatively abundant.
I have the blue dial YM40, and love it! Was for years enamored with the sunburst dial of the Hulk and Bluesy two-tone, but the price of the Hulk ran up way too quickly to catch, and the two-tone Rolexes don't really strike my fancy. Eventually stumbled upon the YM40 and the more i read about it, the more perfect it was. It's a magnificent watch.
I have the blue dial 40mm 2020 and I got it in a trade for the 2020 41mm Sub for exactly the reasons you mentioned. Way more contoured to the wrist and more comfortable. (Wrist size: 6.5) For second hand prices, I didn’t want to feel like I was paying double for an uncomfortable watch. I like how you put it, weirdly this is an “honest watch”. The yacht master feels on the wrist the way I thought a sub would feel.
I own the blue dial YM and absolutely LOVE it! It seems that Subs are everywhere, so the relative rarity of the YM in the wild appeals to me. Plus, it’s just gorgeous! Pure class! I really think it’s the most attractive watch in the Rolex catalog.
I couldn’t agree more. It’s the best summer watch they have. It’s the only time/date watch I put on a winder because I actually wear it enough to avoid resetting the time/date.
Bought one from AD last nov YM two tone everose gold , unbelievable that this is such an amzing looking most underrated watch, my guess is that it may be the next hottest rolex watch, all about hype
I want to buy a rolex after grafting my arse since 16 just not sure which one to go for ym or sub 🤔 also thinking I'll get conned with a fake one if I buy it from ebay.
Depending on your lifestyle, if you take the subway to work, people will think that all watches you wear is fake. Even if you had a Full gold Nautilus on you, people would still not even take a look at whats on your wrist. However f your lifestyle is a class above that and you can afford to daily a nicer car like a S class or Panamera to your office, then your watch becomes more relevant and suitable for you
I have a YM two tone everose gold , I wear it for myself ….and when u see an original YM you never are in doubt whether it fake or not as it simply gorgeous. If someone like u though still questions it , then I’ll show u my e class for starters 😜
I love my YM 40, blue dial, current generation. It’s truly a do it all. Dress it up, dress down in shorts, formal, casual, and toss it on a Rubber B or Everest strap to give it a real sporty look. It’s pretty bling on the bracelet, but really fun! Also that 37 is CHOICE for your wrist, maybe a new watch for you some day :)
I've got a two-tone Yacht-Master 40 blue dial and it's my favorite watch I just love it. I think the yacht Masters are stunning I'm surprised they don't get more love
Greetings from Dubai. I am proud owner of both the 41 submariner ( black date)and the 40 YM in blue dial. My huge apologies but in my opinion YM is way way more. impressive than the submariner Submariner is an amazing tool watch. Side by side YM blows the sub out of the water ( excuse the pun)
The black dial sub is too dull for sure but green dial or the blue dial with gold bracelet? YM might be slicker in looking but the green and blue-gold subs are bolder. And I prefer straightforwardness
I absolutely love the rhodium dial. I have a platinum dial YM and I love that as well. But that combo on the rhodium version is something else. I may trade up to it at some point, but it’s definitely one of my favorites.
I tried on the 37mm a few years back at Munich airport (could have bought it right there). It was by far the best fitting Rolex for my smaller wrist. Also the rhodium dial is spectacular!
I love the way she waves her hands around in the air with that beautiful watch on her wrist. It’s classy, it’s elegance. I’m not expressing any kind of attraction to Jenni, but an attraction to the way our mannerisms are enhanced by a nice watch.. like moving artwork.
Today I visited my local AD. I'd never even considered a Yacht-Master. I was looking at a plethora of rose gold and steel models. Then it happened. I picked up the YM presented with a chocolate sunburst dial. It is such a beautiful timepiece. Nothing compares to it in the flesh. I've ordered it and I've asked them if I could have it this side of Christmas. I'm so excited and relieved that I got to see it next to the GMT Rootbeer and others. I'm now like a child on Christmas week. 😬
Very balanced presentation. A yachtmaster is a qualification to handle boats, that's where the name comes from. It doesn't mean that you own a yacht. I got my YM 116622 pt dial exactly 6 years ago to the day. This is one of the most elegant and dressy professional Rolex models, to me at least. I really love this classier take on the more utilitarian looking Sub. Very discreet and understated with the pt dial. The blue dial is stunning and offers a slightly more showy look. The slate dial replaces the platinum dial and continues with the more under the radar approach. Supremely comfortable on the wrist, compared to my Sub41 and SD43. The YM was developed as a tool to track elapsed time between buoys in regattas, thanks to the bidirectional bezel, so technically it is a toolwatch, albeit a luxurious one.
@@oaktree1628 If you treat it like a beater, it will scratch. No stains from regular use. These come from bad polishing jobs, not doing the correct sandblasting refinish. The RSC have a special machine to refinish the bezel to like new condition as part of the overhaul.
I was never a fan of Rolexes except of the Datejust, but this Yachtmaster completely threw me off my chair, the design, the aesthetic of it! Forget about platinum I'd have given the same for even a stainless steel version of it!
I'm not a Rolex fan, I just really appreciate some of their models. The Yachtmaster looks great IMH and low knowledge opinion of Rolex in general. For some reason, green dials/bezels doesn't work for me. But grey and dark blue sun burst dials are always so bloody stunning.
Love your videos. It’s interesting that the YM is probably a more accurate representation of the owner/purchaser. It’s a quality luxury timepiece. Whereas originally the Sub was a tool watch it has now become a quality luxury status symbol.
Well they have nothing else to cover. The stainless steel ones have been overdiscussed and overhyped, and are not available to purchase (except at dumb prices). So they are pushing something else now!
Everything that’s snobby about the yachtmaster technically exists for the brand name Rolex. If you won’t want to look rich and snobby, then why buy a Rolex at all?! Accept that Rolex is a luxury brand with a rep that follows. Once you do, the yachtmaster becomes the best value. Convince me how any current model sub looks better than a blue dial yachtmaster on the wrist...especially on the ibwc.
When i turned 40 i was gifted this Yachtmaster 40 Blue dial from the Love of my life and it is Iconic and very special . This piece is a huge sleeper .
I've had the 40mm 16622 and 37mm 268622, they are amazing watches especially the 16622's dial and preferred them because of the rounder styling over any sub.
Thanks Jenni! Great video as usual. Traded in a couple of watches, including a vintage Datejust, for a Yacht-Master with the blue dial. I love this watch, it wears nicely on the wrist not too big or too small. The blue sunburst with the red second hands and printing are stunning. I do find it sometimes difficult to include it in my rotation as it is quite dressy. Its the perfect size bigger than the Date-just 36 and slightly smaller than the Sub.
I really appreciate your point about the Yachtmaster not pretending to be a toolwatch like so many other Rolex models. While I have seen people wear traditional mechanical watches on dives (very, very few mind you), I've never seen someone actually /use/ them in any meaningful manner; only in conjunction with a dive computer, and so the automatic watch is essentially just a piece of jewelry that tags on so that people can say that they "used their tool watch as intended"! Except, not really.
I have always thought that the Yacht-master is the most overlooked watch in Rolex's lineup. I live in Hong Kong and I would say at least 2/5 people wear Rolexes, and the majority of the middle-aged and the younger generation wear the Submariner, even people whose wrists are too small to pull it off. Why wouldn't they go for the Yacht-master? They still have the Rolex sports watch look and comes in 37mm... So I would say that the Yacht-master definitely deserve some love from the I.B.W.C.
Well most men today think that 37mm is a woman's watch. By most men I mean your average Joe on the street and not just a bunch of insecure effeminate watch geeks who all flock to the opinions of a few self-proclaimed internet style gurus.
37mm is indeed too small to men with average or above average wrist. The problem with YM1 is the Bezel has a futuristic touch that doesn’t fit the vibe. YM2 actually is a very looking watch. It’s just too big. If they can make 42mm YM2, it can be a hot watch.
@@simonphillips05 I travel around the world , as I see Hong Kong is one of the city which is full of Rolex , but I think just because they buy Rolex / Ap / PP to saving money as tradition . I think most of the people normally get 3k-6k dollars per month is not much but enough to afford 1-2 luxury watch in their life I agree with you some of them maybe fake but Fake Rolex is everywhere mate 😅 enjoy the watch , cheers
The fact is that the rhodium and blue second hand YM 40 is now selling for 25k… :( It’s the sexier but definitely impossible to get as you fools are talking too much of professional Rolexes. Sincerely, now every body knows the Rolex and want them. It should be more confidential
I have the blue dial Yachtmaster and the new 41mm no date submariner and had to let go of one of them. Im currently wearing the Yachtmaster. I love the watch it’s gorgeous and the blue dial is stunning in person.
Just bought this YM 40 Rhodium, it’s been my “grail” watch for Years. It being under the radar, not as common, or a sleeper is Exactly one of the reasons I wanted it. Not only did just the look of it grab my attention but the more I learned about it in the market the more I liked it. Everyone has a Submariner, and imho the watch doesn’t really Look worth its value on the wrist. Someone who does not know watches could briefly look at a Sub and think nothing of it. The GMTs are “Nicer” looking and do provide that aesthetic look / value to me BUT I am not a fan of the two tone bezels. For me personally I feel like they limit the watches versatility when it comes to wearing it outfit and event wise. The YM rhodium dial on the other hand I felt provided the perfect balance. It can match anything and it can be dressed up w a suit or down in a less formal outfit. It definitely looks like a beautiful watch worth its value in dollars with the sunburst dial, and PCLs on the bracelet. The touch of blue is just super unique and a perfect match. The lugs are also polished. So the watch does have some bling effect but after wearing it for a day out I have to say it’s Not bad or overwhelming at all. It’s not a gaudy watch by any mean, but it’s polished and has some sparkle to it. And for me honestly if I’m wearing a 13k-17k watch (grey market depending on the year and b + p) I want it to have some shine to it. Now with all of that shine is there concern to be careful with it? Not scratch the PCLs and platinum bezel? 100% there is lol. But whether I had a sub or This YM I am not the type to wear a watch that cost me over 10 bands while I’m doing DIY videos in my house or while doing any other activity that could cause me to damage it (maybe drinking w friends). I’ll wear a piece of jewelry like this when appropriate. If your the type who doesn’t care and will wear your watch 24/7 and out in the yard etc. I’d say get a G-Shock lol. But if your that loaded and unconcerned with the cost then a non polished sub would def be the way to go since it won’t show scratches as easily. Overall I love my new Watch. I love that it is a “sleeper” and I’m hoping the exclusivity of it or lack of it in the market and on people’s wrists will entice others to also want to branch out and get it. Right now the market on these is great imho. If you search you can find good deals from good dealers on the grey market.
- I got mine from Seth at Essential Watches in Beverly Hills. He also runs 90210 Watches. 90210 is his boutique and essential appears mainly to be the Oline company. He started essential and it blew up, he sold it and then started 90210. Recently he bought back into essential and runs both. To my knowledge his rep and reviews are outstanding. Did all transactions over the phone. Spoke to Seth a couple times and his partner over the phone prior to receiving the watch. His partner funny enough lives in the same town as me in NJ, insane. Got the watch, brought to local AD / RSC. They checked it out and said it looked authentic. I’ll be going back this week to have them open it up and authenticate it for insurance purposes. So far so good. Good experience.
Well done, Jenni! Dress it up-dress it down. A precious metal, magnificent, and surprisingly underrated timepiece with a fantastic contour. It's a stunner up close and personal and, personally, I find it much more appealing when set side by side with my Sub 14060 "no date". The 126622 Rhodium "sunburst" Dial is Outstanding. Cheers!,...and stay well.
Great points, and thanks for sharing. The YM is waaaay different to my take on the YM2. The rhodium dial and touch of baby blue is stunning. The dark blue is also a looker. Really getting into these but without the ‘support’ in house it always feels like an outsider in the ‘big’ decision. The context (as highlighted) is also questionable and all a bit nouveau, and lacking heritage. If I were a them, I would add a (sea)green dial for their 30th. To take the IG trendy’s into this model and maintain the OG status for the sub.
Thanks for turning your spotlight onto the often ignored Yacht Master. I bought the blue 40mm 116622 way back in 2015 when one could literally walk into an AD and buy it off the shelf. The fact that you don't see many people wearing the YM makes it stand out in a sea of Submariners. I personally think that the YM case design is a work of art and one of the best in the Rolex line up. It wears a lot like a Daytona. It's actually the polished links on the bracelet that make it look dressy, so when I want to tone down the look I put it on a blue or black rubber strap and it takes on a totally casual 'jeans & tee shirt' vibe. I loved the watch so much that I actually ended up getting the Rhodium version after watching Oisin's spectacular review. I really wish Rolex would use the same two size concept for the Submariner (say 39mm & 41mm) so that people with slender wrists would also be able to wear the Sub without looking like a dork.
Wow, I was always thinking how boring and lackluster Rolex Submariners are. Now that I know the yacht-master is Rolex’s more unique alternative, I definitely think I’ve found a hidden gem in their line.
Great video! I have the Rhodium dial, and I just love it. I also love the fact that most people don’t appreciate what this watch is and how good it is - flies under the radar a bit! In my opinion, better styling and sits / fits better due to the ‘curves’ you mentioned in the video.
The most underrated of the Yachtmaster series is actually the two tone with chocolate dial. It's just simply classy and looks so luxurious. You cannot simply fake luxury ;)
I have the exact same model 126621, gotta say it’s unbelievable, case of daytona and dial of sub in precious gold. Sub/gmt = tool watch YM = Jewelry Only when one sees it on someone’s wrist gets to know what I’m Tryna say.
Hi Jenni, love your videos and your accent. This year I am turning 40 so I am thinking to get a new special watch and definitely the Yach´s platinum bezel is into my scope. As you said, I really appreciate it´s elegant but not-so-Flashy style, besides, both blue and gray dials looks amazing on your wrist and for me both colors are Eye-Catching. Definitely a Yachmaster would complete my sacred trinity with my current Datejust and my Skyfall Aquaterra, Thanks God for such amazing little mechanical machines. Regards...
As an owner, I deeply am grateful I made this the second watch I wanted from the brand. The first being an explorer 1 39mm. Sub and explorer are different watches but the color scheme is the same. It’s a great two-Rolex watch collection
This watch is one of the most beautiful watches Rolex makes and it is quite underrated and I don’t have a problem with that. I owned the blue one 40 and it’s stunning.
Love the content Jenni! I bought a YM just a little bit ago and I absolutely love it! The blue dial should be called the Captain America. Why has this not been nick named that officially?? Great review Jenni and thanks for all that you do.
"Drinking champagne in a yacht in Monaco while wearing a Yachtmaster" .... hell yes, why not? I wear my Seiko and Tissot to do stuff around the house. My Omega SMP and Tudor Pelagos for the pool and beach days.... well, now that I bought my Yachtmaster a month ago, all I need is a big boat then 🤣🤣🤣. Not gonna happen anytime soon! Its a beautiful watch and it was flying under the radar for a long time. But it seems that is not the case anymore. Here we go... add Another one for the wait list in the Rolex empire. Great stuff as usual Jenni. Thanks
I for one love the Yach-Master 40 with the rhodium dial. Simply because it's underrated, and not a hype piece. And I think it looks fantastic. Great review.
Love your reviews. Your positive outlook brightens my day. If I ever get a Rolex it will be the gray dial Yacht Master. Probably rarely seen in public versus the Sub which makes it a better choice. Thanks.
First luxury watch I ever had on my wrist. I still think the Yatch Master and Superocean, despite the availability, are beautiful watches. Two of my all time favorites.
Just ordered a slate Yachtmaster and I'm stoked but the wait could be awhile. Whatever happens to the 2022 releases with crazy colors, this dark rhodium with light blue accents will be a future steel classic.
Quite sure YM rhodium price will start to rise more and more with the attention it is receiving now in various social media platforms. It is such a gorgeous watch, both 37mm and 40mm.
Love love LOOOOOVEEEEE the rhodium dial. I actually was going to buy this but then got the call for a Sub LV 😂 This is still on my desire list though. Like you mentioned, totally underrated and great watch.
I agree that the name conjures up something I can’t relate too!! I love stories and history behind watches - this is why I love the likes of the explorer and sub much more!! But it is still a very cool watch... great vid 👍🥂
I am a 6'2 male and love my Yacht Master 37 To me the name Yacht Master tells me that its luxurious but not a tool. Since it is not a tool it can have a bidirectional rotating bezel and a slimmer profile. It can have all of the looks but not be bound by the restrictions required to make it a tool. People on the Yacht are there to relax and/or party. Not work.
YM IS BEYOND UNDERRATED! This was actually the first Rolex I reaaally wanted as well. I just loved the YM 37 size, style, I was all about that everose gold on the oyster flex (but my budget was like "naaah B").
Great video, I enjoyed it very much. I did want to comment on people who scuba dive with Rolexes. I did not dive with a Submariner. However, I did dive with my 1675 GMT master. We got to the dive site and I realized that I was wearing my GMT so instead of leaving it in the car, I decided to wear it. This was not the smartest thing but the watch came out with no issues. I won’t be doing that deliberately again though. Thanks again & I’d most definitely consider a yacht master for myself, probably a 40 mm.
I'm honestly not a big fan of most of the Rolex's available out there (mostly because of the exorbitant prices) but I have to say the Yacht-Master really is quite eye-catching especially on the blue dial. I might just have to place that one on my list of watches in the future :)
Great video! I have the 37mm Yacht Master in rose gold and steel with the chocolate dial and it’s amazing! In my opinion it looks like it should cost more than the Advertised price.
Fortunate enough to have rhodium YM 40. Absolutely gorgeous watch. Price has started to boom. Have been offered nearly twice the price I paid for it. Sorely tempted- but what do you replace it with! I've still not worn it out.
Always love watching your videos Jenni!! I would pick the yacht master over the Sub all day long. It has so much more color and visual interest. The chocolate dial with Everose gold is especially stunning.
I have always just kind of passed the YM, but I must say, that 40mm one caught my attention. I am saving up for a no date Submariner, but that YM is really gorgeous.
Got the rhodium 40mm yachtmaster last year , and I must say it’s the best looking Rolex out there When the sun hits the dial and bezel it shines like a diamond 💎
Hi Jenni - I just bought the "White Walker" (aka "The Night King"...thoughts?) on Sunday! It is my first Rolex and I love it. Thanks for your great review and informative videos.
Thank you for the honest review, Jenni. I own a 126622 Rhodium and find it to be both elegant and sporty,...dress it up or down. It seems to be gaining a bit of traction recently but, as you noted, it's "lost" in the catalog and receives little press. I have many wonderful timepieces and have also bought and sold many. I highly recommend this watch. Unlike my no date 14060 Sub, the 126622 is like shimmering jewelry and looks outstanding when up close and personal. CHEERS & ENJOY!
The Yacht Master is my favorite Rolex; especially the previous generation 35mm model (168622). Monochromatic REAL Platinum Bezel with matte silver dial, silver hands with a red sweep second. Luxurious and understated at the same time. More importantly, it's compact at 35mm. I am sick and tired of watch makers forcing big ass watches on us. You can get on used in mint condition for $6K and change. What's there not to like?
Jenni, I always enjoy your take on watches. I have to admit I prefer the sub look to the Yacht Master look. I purchased a Sea Dweller 16600, mostly be cause the Rolex is more popular. I would love to see a video on the Yacht Master II. I know it is a pretentious watch, but I love the feel and look. As I told my kids, I can’t afford a yacht but I could afford the watch.
I don’t think any Rolex is a sleeper right now if you go to the AD and it’s not on display. I love the watch, but my issue is the bezel I know I’d scratch it up in no time. Not an issue with the ceramic bezel on my Submariner.
In real life it’s a stop you in your tracks gorgeous watch. It is a sleeper cause honestly most can’t pull it off… but everyone can pull off another black sub and get that atta boy comment from people.
The grey dailed YM with a metal bezel is the most tasteful Submariner-type diver watches. I should know cos I've just chose one from the plethora of similar offerings.
Rolex should create a Debtmaster for the rest of us.
More like a waitmaster
How about a second mortgagemaster.

😎 Thanks for the shout out, Jenni! Believe it or not, that was my very first video! 😎The YM in Rhodium is still one of most beautiful watches they make! 😎
You should do an update video at some point. It was mainly due to that video that I picked one up myself (but in blue 😉). Big fan!
You still enjoy it Oisin? It's probably top of my desire list atm.
You’re review about the YM40 rhodium was spot on. Specially about the whole présence and attitude around it, manly and masculinity.
Yes please do an update
It’s a beautiful watch I was so close to getting the blue dial Platinum YM but I got a Sub feeling like I would enjoy it more
You don’t see too many Yachtmasters “out in the wild”, and for that reason alone this watch interests me greatly.
I think it's because Mark Wahlberg practically owns all of them. No joke, read up on his Rolex collection
My dentist has one so I stopped taking care of my teeth to see it in person
@@nolanwadr 😄
Indeed, at that price point who wants to have a watch that "everyone" else has.
Yeah I saw a blue dial one at the golf course last week, and I was like “man that guy has cool tastes”
The blue dial Yacht-Master is one of the most beautiful watches from Rolex in my opinion. Nice Video Jenni :)

I think the rhodium Yachtmaster is one of Rolex’s best looking watches. Trading prices are going up on that model, people are catching on to it!
Funny that Rhodium is currently $22,100 per oz.
I much prefer the blue dial one in person. Not to say that the rhodium isn't a great one too!
I was going to write exactly the same.
Saw the rhodium dial. It is so amazingly subtle and sparkly at the same time
Before I took the plunge, my AD showed me both versions first hand.
This is one of the most beautiful Rolex's hands down
I love my Yachtmaster, it is my favourite piece in my collection at the moment! They are so underrated which is another reason to like them
I’ve been lucky enough to own many Rolex’s over the years and the Yacht Master, in my opinion, is by far the most beautiful. That’s why I still have it to this day.
The think the analogy of the yacht captain wearing the Submariner and the yacht owner wearing the Yacht Master sums it up nicely.
40mm Stainless “two polish tone”, sand blasted platinum dial & platinum bezel. Classy and beautiful👍
So indeed the YM is the best evolution a sub could get, honestly marketed and fairly priced, for now ;)
Better case, a discreet touch of precious metal, an astonishing dial and a more appropriate clasp.
Same I have the 37mm and it fits me perfectly
Is it true that the bezel scratches easily, and if so, are the scratches very noticeable or not?
@@oaktree1628 I can't see any difference between the level of wear on my bezel and the level of wear on any of the other surfaces 🤷♂️
Do you still like it? I am between the yachaster and the submariner date, I like the 37mm size but I think the sub wears better. On the other hand the sub is too common watch, while the YM seems unique
我也有37m手表
Jenni brings quality watch videos every single time
Redundant user of the word 'watch'.
I’d never looked at the JLC Master Control before. Those are breathtaking. What a wonderful gift.
I would rather jump in front of a bus than suck up to an AD and buy all of their crap
I have the Yacht Master 40 with blue dial, it’s beautiful. Very classy.
Have it. Just got it a few weeks ago. It’s 🤌
Just got it, $3000 above retail price from resellers in Singapore. 😊
I’m fortunate to have a rhodium 40mm in my Rolex collection & love it for more formal occasions. The 70hr power reserve is an added benefit
Love the blue dial Yacht-Master, it’s on the list of lottery-win purchases along with a Sky-Dweller 🤞🏻
But why lottery ??? Just buy it! :-)
@@tomtomd.6841 lad be talking like a Rolex cost two bucks 🤪
@@watchwickens3605 😎👍😅
Small wrist. The Sky Dweller is just too big.
Does your Oyster bracelet have the high polished center links? How has it held up with scratching?
@@DM-qe1dr yes it does. A few minor scratches, I think it has held up very well. I am not very hard on my watches so your experiance may differ.
Thank you. You settled my conflict of which watch to buy.
I also own the blue dial 126622. Everything you said is 1000% true.
The only issue with wearing a Rolex is that everyone thinks you’re wearing a fake Rolex
You should wear a (insert brand name) because of what means to you and not what others think. Otherwise, that's just flexing.
Lmao
Or may be ur just in the wrong group buddy….if that’s the case….then u need to HUSTLE !just like most of us did. :-)
Do you have a link to which rubber straps you like best?
The YM40 is an amazing watch, it's underestimated, it does not seek attention, yet it screams quality. It is one of the best kept secrets.
The red second hand seeks attention in a good way.
My huge apologies but in my opinion YM is way way more. impressive than the submariner
Submariner is an amazing tool watch. Side by side YM blows the sub out of the water ( excuse the pun)
I cracked up with the pun. Agreed with the comment.
The black dial sub is too dull for sure but green dial or the blue dial with gold bracelet? YM might be slicker in looking but the green and blue-gold subs are bolder. And I prefer straightforwardness
How does it do that ?
I also own both
I agree - I have both and the yachtmaster is so much nicer and comfortable to wear. May need to add the blue version to my rhodium piece.
I absolutely love the rhodium dial. I have a platinum dial YM and I love that as well. But that combo on the rhodium version is something else. I may trade up to it at some point, but it’s definitely one of my favorites.
Oh, and I’m perfectly comfortable wearing mine in the wheelhouse of the commercial scallopers I run, lol
The Yatch Master is a very upscale Submariner and there is nothing wrong with that. Great description.
The Everose Oysterflex is AMAZING.
The one to have
Very balanced presentation.
Does the bezel scratch or stain easily, and if so, is it noticeable or not?
@@oaktree1628 If you treat it like a beater, it will scratch. No stains from regular use. These come from bad polishing jobs, not doing the correct sandblasting refinish. The RSC have a special machine to refinish the bezel to like new condition as part of the overhaul.
@@Nexus.Achiles thanks!
@@oaktree1628 sure, no probs!
Exactly the way I feel about it.
Cheers from SoCal !!
Thanks so much for covering the Yacht Master. As an owner of the blue dial 126622, I never clicked a video so fast
Love your videos. It’s interesting that the YM is probably a more accurate representation of the owner/purchaser. It’s a quality luxury timepiece. Whereas originally the Sub was a tool watch it has now become a quality luxury status symbol.
Isn't it weird how out of nowhere all the sudden every watch channel is covering the Yacht Master I?
Yes, and now watch the prices jump.
@Eik Horn I picked one up two months ago mint full set for 13400.
You might just want a high quality product that is almost guaranteed to retain value, that you can pass down to your kids, such as the Rolex Explorer
What does IBWC mean?
@@Deathignator Itty Bitty Wrist Comittee - it's a joke term for people with small wrists
Only thing snobby with YM is the word yacht.
Very well said. Yachtmaster blue >>> dull black submariner that everyone and their mom has
When i turned 40 i was gifted this Yachtmaster 40 Blue dial from the Love of my life and it is Iconic and very special .
I have one, with the platinum dial and believe me, it looks way nicer at the wrist than in photo. love this watch.
@@JerehmiaBoaz most men are also insecure about their masculinity
2/5 people in HK wear Rolexes? I would assume most of those are not real as HK was always the hub for fakes manufacture...
I think most of the people normally get 3k-6k dollars per month is not much but enough to afford 1-2 luxury watch in their life
I agree with you some of them maybe fake but Fake Rolex is everywhere mate 😅
enjoy the watch , cheers
The fact is that the rhodium and blue second hand YM 40 is now selling for 25k… :(
It’s the sexier but definitely impossible to get as you fools are talking too much of professional Rolexes.
Best looking Rolex in my opinion.
Rainbow daytona
Just bought this YM 40 Rhodium, it’s been my “grail” watch for
Years.
Sub/gmt = tool watch
YM = Jewelry
Only when one sees it on someone’s wrist gets to know what I’m Tryna say.

Regards...
The blue dial, I guess the 40mm model is a strong consideration for me.
Same here, cool sleeper
As an owner, I deeply am grateful I made this the second watch I wanted from the brand. The first being an explorer 1 39mm. Sub and explorer are different watches but the color scheme is the same. It’s a great two-Rolex watch collection
Yes, same here. It's underrated.
This watch is one of the most beautiful watches Rolex makes and it is quite underrated and I don’t have a problem with that. I owned the blue one 40 and it’s stunning.
I got the call from my AD that they had one of these in last week. I unfortunately had to pass since I just bought the Pepsi GMT.

Thanks
I have a 126622 rhodium YM and love it. It is silky on the wrist and beautiful from every angle!
Yacht Master seems to be the Aqua Terra of the Rolex... 😅 *(popularity wise~)
Those polished centre links are a nightmare...scratch up soooooooo easily
Quite sure YM rhodium price will start to rise more and more with the attention it is receiving now in various social media platforms. It is such a gorgeous watch, both 37mm and 40mm.
I agree, I've been baffled at the lack of appreciation for years ,it's quite simply stunning in the flesh
One of my favorite Rolex watches. I'm partial to the everose brown dail.
Love love LOOOOOVEEEEE the rhodium dial. I actually was going to buy this but then got the call for a Sub LV 😂 This is still on my desire list though. Like you mentioned, totally underrated and great watch.
@Aly O Congratulations! Hope that youre happy with it!
I had this watch in blue and sold it a year later smh, now it's worth 14k.
Just got the grey YM 40 yesterday beacause of your video. It looks great! Thank you!
I agree that the name conjures up something I can’t relate too!! I love stories and history behind watches - this is why I love the likes of the explorer and sub much more!! But it is still a very cool watch... great vid 👍🥂
I am a 6'2 male and love my Yacht Master 37
To me the name Yacht Master tells me that its luxurious but not a tool. Since it is not a tool it can have a bidirectional rotating bezel and a slimmer profile. It can have all of the looks but not be bound by the restrictions required to make it a tool.
People on the Yacht are there to relax and/or party. Not work.
Same, I have the YM37 I’m the same height as you but I have smaller wrists and it fits perfectly
YM IS BEYOND UNDERRATED! This was actually the first Rolex I reaaally wanted as well. I just loved the YM 37 size, style, I was all about that everose gold on the oyster flex (but my budget was like "naaah B").
Did you buy the YM 37mm in the end? I randomly walked into an AD and they had one. I tried it, and it felt so good on the wrist I had to buy it.
I recently picked up my YM blue and it’s hands down my favourite watch in my collection. Haven’t taken it off in 3 weeks.
Got the rhodium 40mm yachtmaster last year , and I must say it’s the best looking Rolex out there
When the sun hits the dial and bezel it shines like a diamond 💎
I bought the rhodium dial last year. I wore it for a week at the beach then decided to give it to my dad. I got a bluesy soon after. You got it @ 8:38
Jenni, I always enjoy your take on watches.
Love the Yacht-Master myself, one of my favourite Rolex lines actually!
I have the platinum dial red hand ym & I think it’s one of Rolex’s most beautiful pieces, just classy.
Where would you buy one from?
The Yachtmaster and vintage Air Kings are two of my favorite underrated Rolex watches.
The grey dailed YM with a metal bezel is the most tasteful Submariner-type diver watches. I should know cos I've just chose one from the plethora of similar offerings.
