As Satriani said, "any mere mortal would struggle just to play a few chords on Stevie's guitar"... Btw, that guitar is now the most expensive in the world.
Suzi Que, you're digging the bass player. Mr. Tommy Shannon, who happened to be the bass man for another Texas 6 stringer, Mr. Johnny Winter! Fun fact 🤙
with Uncle John Turner! RIP, Unk.
He played that guitar so hard that it changed colors after the band intro. =)
He was sooo good; I still mourn the loss. RIP!!!
My dad was at the concert he was supposed to be at a day or two after his helicopter crashed. He was gonna be with Eric Clapton
Yes....so so good!!!
Stevie Ray Vaughn is the master!
You know what it is about Stevie, it's his tone and attack.
His dynamics are otherworldly.
Often imitated, but never duplicated!!!!! Never, ever will there be another SRV, or another bottom like Double Trouble!😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's good to see younger people have appreciation for the master of rock/blues/jazz: SRV.
you're still missing one of his best performances back at the El Macambo - "Lenny"
Yessssss
Who the heck is disliking this? The man is a legend and a force to be reckoned with!
It takes a insane person to give any SRV song a thumbs down ! You might not like his music but Give this man the Respect that he deserves and the respect that he gave everyone ! Didn't matter if he liked your music or not....he was always class and gave everyone the same respect that he asked for in return ... well actually he never asked for anyone's respect like that.... you either dig him or you don't ... but please show a little respect.
SRV always has had my heart!!!! I even have spent time with his statue in the park! I've toked with him and talked about love, life and music!!!
Man Stevie was dedicated to his art. And we shouldn’t use comparisons to to judge his art. Just can’t do it. He was really great.
I had the honour of seeing him live In 84. He opened for Robert Plant. He blew the roof off the Gardens!! Poor Robert might as well have just gone home after SRV was done. He passed not long after. It hit us hard having realized that we had been lucky to see him. He was true humble greatness. RIP SRV
He played blues guitar like he invented it.
Yes, love you guys, more Stevie !!!
After Stevie died Chris "Whipper" Layton (drums) and Tommy Shannon (Bass) joined up with Charlie Sexton and Doyle Bramhall jr. In the Arc Angels, give them a listen, Awesome, awesome album.
Sadly they only made the one album, but it is amazing.
After Arc Angels they formed Storyville with Malford Milligan on vocals that needs to be checked out as well! Love AA btw!
AA is one of those I start with one song and can't shut it off till I have heard the whole thing!
ARC Angels = Austin Rehearsal Complex, which is sadly no more.
@@sarahzentexas Sadly so much of old Austin is gone now.
There are two types of SRV...His Live Stuff and his Radio Stuff. This song blew-up Texas Radio! And, caused a lot of speeding tickets.
With the exception of the added solos, that was performed exactly as it was written for the album.
No doubt that Double Trouble is one of the greatest rhythm sections in the business!
Omg. That tone!!!
One of his best in my opinion...The whole damn group was underrated.
You guys @The Wolf HunterZ are missing one classic Stevie Ray Vaughn song. For us who went through Drinking, Drugs, and PTSD. LIVIN' LIFE BY THE DROP
SRV and his 12 string...
Thank you for this one. One of my all time favorite songs of his. I also love this version, because they give you a great shot of Chris Layton(drums) and Tommy Shannon (bass). They were truly a 3 piece but they added Reese to the band in the 80s to add a little flare on the keys.
No. He wasn't messing with the band. That's how it was written and rehearsed.
QUADRUPLE TROUBLE BAND!!!
The best
The Double Trouble band really kicked ass. One of the best rhythm sections of their time.
Suzi Q, excellent blues riff on leave my little girl alone! Awesome flex! 👍
Damn that helecopter, he was one of the best. Rip SRV.
Pilot error and corporate error for allowing that pilot to fly that helicopter.
Saw the Couldn't stand the weather tour back in Texas, it was awesome, the best part was Stevie breaking a string and never missing a note, he got it replaced and just kept going. Professionalism at its best. He made a commercial at one time for the keep Texas and its roads clean, the catch phrase was don't mess with Texas and it showed Stevie sitting down playing "The Eyes of Texas" on the slide guitar, yourube has it check it out or don't up to you.
Thank you thank you thank you!!! Stevie Ray Vaughan best guitarist ever. You guys picked the perfect song. Much appreciated!
SRV, Baby! 33yrs later and he still kicks ass! Double Trouble backed him up quite nicely. I caught 3 shows and feel very lucky to be able to say that.
Out of this world guitar work and swag!
SRV was a God made guitarist. The ultimate
The fastest hands under control I've ever seen!! And I'm 68 and seen all the greats!!! God made a special man in Stevie Ray!! So much talent, no wonder he was called home early!!! Hands down the finest guitar player ever!!! With a killer voice and great smile!!!
Rumor has it Stevie Ray made a deal with the devil....we aren’t sure what Stevie got in the deal but the devil got guitar lessons
Glad to be back! Great job Susie Stevie would have loved you! 😊🫶🎸🎶🍁🦃☀️🌵🇺🇸🙏
He and alleys Be my Voodoo Live child. I'd sell my soul to play like SRV
It is so groovy. Couldn't stand still regardless of the weather:)
One of SRV’s Rock Classics…And, the cause of thousands speeding tickets.
Stevie touched on some tight jazz here and there. Stevie wasn't 'messing' with anyone. Thatw as the song. This tune _brings it_
I'm one of SRV's biggest fans. I even named my son Vaughan after him. He was truly special and I thank both of you for reacting to his music. I forget what year it was, but I saw him on my birthday. I think it was 12/31/1989. What a show. I'll have to ask my wife to confirm the year. I just don't remember that stuff anymore. LOL Anyways, keep it up guys. Can you please do Riviera Paradise?
You guys reacted to the Winters brothers performing "Tobacco Road" a while back, same bass player, Tommy "the Beat" Shannon!
SRV ~ 🎸🐐
SRV put his heart and soul into every note he ever played.
I was blessed to see Stevie perform before he passed... it was a night I will never forget ✌😎🎸
( R.I.P SRV )
The bass n drummer go by the name of Double Trouble
One of my favourites by stevie so much energy
You want some fun covering a song, try this one. One of the funnest songs (for me) to play. The rhythm carries the emotion and the solo fits in perfectly.
RIP the great, unequaled SRV.
Just gotta say, you two are adorable. Add that you love Stevie? Perfection!
Donna G❤️
God Double Trouble was Fabulous! SRV was the best guitar slinger ever.
And damn he got on that helicopter and the pilot flew it wide open straight into the ground. I'll be sad forever. My number 1 hero was SRV.
We all got our time to die I guess. But God in heaven should have left Stevie alone for awhile. We miss him but who am I to question fate!
Life ain't fair and we all got to appreciate each day of being alive.
GOAT !
Tommy Shannon is like the yellow pages and lets his fingers do the walking.
They are true PRO'S
Life long fan of Stevie and all these reactions to Stevie got me teary eyed because he deserves all this love! ♥️
Who does not love SRV guitar playing....so great....so much emotion in his playing....ya gotta move when he plays...
Haha, yes, such fond memories of power outages and NO WATER. I didn’t bathe for 8 straight days. I hate everybody in our state government, and I won’t forget the misery anytime soon. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL. Subbed. SRV is the GOAT.
SRV and Double Trouble fucking grooved
The bassist, Tommy Shannon played with Johnny Winter at Woodstock.
Stevie played the guitar like it owed him money , RIP ~ SRV
same performance, check out Tightrope, two blistering solos.
That’s fast intro riff, its freaking magic!🔥
Seen him in 86 with his hero Lonnie Mack
Such a funky blues song!
Tommy Shannon, the bass player, played with Johnny Winter at Woodstock!!
awesome , how have I never seen this before
The bassist Tommy Shannon played bass for Johnny Winter at Woodstock. You can see him in the Woodstock footage on UA-cam.
Stevie was pretty much best friends with his bassist,Tommy Shannon.Tommy Shannon said that Stevie didn't have street clothes & stage clothes; He wore the same things wherever he was! He said,in the early 80s before SRV was big, he & Stevie were walking down a mall in Dallas,& Stevie was wearing bright red pants, red shirt & hat with a feather in it! They were smoking pipes with fancy tobaccos,& were smoking pipes on this day.He said ppl were STARING! He asked Stevie,"Do you ever feel like people are WATCHING YOU?" Stevie said,"Yeah...So."" He was the same person nomatter where he was! A GREAT ARTIST & BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING!
Yes that snow wiped us out.
That drummer is funky as fuck.
Love y'all's SRV reactions as well as others. Would love to see you maybe react to some bluegrass/Americana. Check out some Doc Watson. "Sitting On Top Of The World", "Tennessee Stud", "Walk On Boy", "House Of The Rising Sun (cover)".
He lost his vision at a young age but made amazing music. He dabbled in bluegrass, folk, blues, country and gospel. He can pick a guitar awesomely!
Bravo! Superb performance.
A have seen him Live it was Amazeballs
Still miss Stevie. Like a family death almost.
bass line is fabulous.
1990 Alpine Wisconsin amazing show ⭐️
I enjoy you guys. You bring sunshine to my day. Love SRV. R.I.P. Really like your channel. I'm a musician and singer. 😀♥️🎶🎸
When this record hit we collectively shit our pants. 30 plus years ago. Welcome aboard
His last time performing at the Austin city limits stage. Less than a year before his death. So sad to think about
Bring that groove back from the start True Musician
I’m so serious! Tommy Shannon is the GOAT of bassists! Stevie’s voice is phenomenal!! ❤️
Reese ( piano) now tours with joe Bonamassa besides his solo career
My favorite SRV song!
Dig the channel, keep rockin! 🤘
Play it like you F***n mean it.
I'm a guitar player. Attack with conviction!
That grin is because he knows the band is aware of the extra 1/4 beat, that all of the non-musicians never catch...
Please check out his performance of Tell Me at El Mocambo
That "Grin" where you thought he might be messin' with them, is because he knows that they know there id an extra 1/4 beat of pause on the third time...
The thing with Stevie rippin on those heavy assed strings. High E 13's would kill a normal humans hand.
nice singing!
Yall!! I live in Austin, it was crazy
Tommy Shannon is the bass player he also played with Johnny Winter
Love u guyses reactions.. very organic
Your luckey your GF is so cool ! congreats ! love you both !
Love it folks I from Buffalo LOL Drive is Snow WHAT
Would also recommend the "video" to this tune. It make ya think.
Knock knock.
His tone change at 12:00 is really nice and bright 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
as great as SRV was he made sure to surround himself with the best!!! Double Trouble.
They never get enough credit.................................
he changed guitars in the middle of the song
The song was written with those pauses.
LOL of course it was. Nobody could do that by ear every time if it was random.
The person who uploaded this clear version said the keyboard was missing
Was going to say that. I couldn't hear any of the solo. 😟
