"Stevie was an endless, open channel that music just poured out of. He made people who'd never touched a guitar in their life want to pick one up and start playing, and he made those of us who'd played live onstage with him before want to quit."............Eric Clapton.
His older brother Jimmie was considered maybe the best guitarist in Texas until Stevie grew up. The Vaughans were from Oak Cliff, south of Dallas, and moved to Austin as teenagers to make it in music. I was lucky enough to have seen them play many times.
I just love Stevie Ray Vaughan!!!! He oozed 'sexy swagger' from every pore on his bod! .. Did I mention he played pretty mean guitar licks too? .. 😎.. This video never gets old. Only better like a fine wine✌..
SRV is simply the GOAT! I saw an interview with his brother Jimmy Vaughn and he said that the thing about Stevie Ray was he could play lead and rhythm at the same damn time 😊
You should do Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Healey together. Both have this incredible solos back to back and watch as Jeff plays a note that impresses Stevie Ray Vaughan. They tear it up.
Stevie is the GOAT, any genre, and this is the greatest use of a guitar I have ever heard in my 58 years. Stevie voice has been described as either honeyed gravel or honey over gravel.
SRV & DT had to toss in that gentle section to let you catch your breath! Too much of a hellacious good thing can drive you crazy with awe. The individual notes from SRV's guitar just cascade from his fingertips but the notes never collide or crash into each other making a muddy sound, they remain distinct and beautifully in-order.
If you want to see Stevie Ray mind warp a guitar with distortion and effects, you should check out his performance of Third Stone From The Sun from his Rockplast concert.
I was fortunate enough to see the GOAT 6 times and it was by far the greatest conerts/performances of my entire life. Several of these I was within 20 feet of him. He was so amazing that many times the audiences were so shocked, they literally forgot to clap...then it would hit them and they would erupt into a frenzy. Pure magic. One concert, he played for over an hour and while the exhausted band members took a 20 minute Break. He sat down on a stool with an acoustic guitar played thru it and when they came back out he picked up one of his 6 electric guitars and went directly into a hard rocking song, then played for another hour to the end. Two encores after that, solo. Phenomenal...by far the greatest blues guitarists ever.
So awesome to see you guys do a reaction to this particular video. What can I say about Stevie? He was a humble person almost soft spoken sometimes. He was the GOAT no doubt. He played the guitar like it was a weapon of mass destruction. He's definitely missed.
I miss Stevie...Hendricks was a huge influence on SRV,the behind the back guitar playing he got from Hendricks along with lighting his guitar on fire and playing behind his head.....SRV was as underrated as they came and he was a genius
The greats died way too young, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray. What a loss to me. I grew up with Hendrix. I bought the Jimi Hendrix Experience album in 1967 two days after the album was in the record store. I was 15 and still in high school.
I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin August 26th 1990. The fog was so bad that we stopped and got a hotel room on the way home. The lineup was SRV, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. RIP SRV!🎸
It was said, I think by Clapton, that Stevie Ray made everyone that didn’t play guitar want to start, and those that did play, to want to stop. Lol. Stevie was from just down the street in Dallas. Super sweet. Died in helicopter crash at a way to young of an age. ❤❤❤❤❤
I was fortunate to see Stevie in 1987 at the Iowa State Fair when he had gotten clean and sober and it was the best concert I have ever seen. I saw Eric Clapton about 1 month later and there was no comparison and believe Eric knows it from Alpine Valley before Stevie got on that helicopter back to Chicago and died. RIP Stevie. The day before his death, Stevie Ray Vaughan allegedly told his band and crew members about a nightmare that he had in which he was at his own funeral and saw thousands of mourners. He felt "terrified, yet almost peaceful".[4] Backstage after the show that evening, the musicians talked about playing together again, particularly with Eric Clapton for a series of dates at London's Royal Albert Hall in early 1991 as a tribute to Jimi Hendrix.[5] Moments later, Clapton's tour manager, Peter Jackson, said that the weather was getting worse and they had to leave soon.[6] Vaughan's last words to drummer Chris Layton were, "I love ya."[7][8] Four helicopters were waiting on a golf course to transport concert group members to Chicago. Vaughan was with his brother Jimmie Vaughan and Jimmie's wife Connie as they went to board their reserved Bell 206B Jet Ranger helicopter piloted by Jeff Brown.[8][9] Jackson had told Vaughan that seats were reserved for all three of them.[5][10] However, they discovered that the seats had been taken by Clapton's agent Bobby Brooks, bodyguard Nigel Browne, and assistant tour manager Colin Smythe, with only one empty seat available.[5][8][11] Vaughan asked Jimmie and Connie if he could take the last seat, saying, "I really need to get back."[5][8] Jimmie and Connie obliged and caught the next flight in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, with manager Mark Proct.[5]
My First Sergeant in the Army was the person who turned me onto SRV in the mid 80s. He found out I liked blues music and told me "No collection is complete without Stevie." He was so right.
Being 70 years old and having seen Hendrix twice...all I can say is SRV took it up a notch or ten! I regret not getting to see him in concert. I really enjoy seeing the reactions from you younger folks while watching videos from his live performances. And I love the quote from Clapton on GBeret83 comment. Clapton is my other favorite. I hope I get to see him perform while we're both around!
Hey man! I've been listening to SRV since "Soul to Soul" came out in 1985 and they started playing "Look at Little Sister" on the radio. I've been a big fan since then and I've never heard, "You've been SRV'd!" I thought it was great and I'm going to use it - ✌
A fun fact, Stevie, Angus Young, Eddie Van Halen and Tommy Emmanuel were close enough in age, that they all would have graduated high school together in 1973.
Although he was in a cocaine induced coma 1 hour before the show, and had to have medical personnel rouse him with IV fluids, this wa s still his best performance on tape.
~ “He plays so aggressively” … Me : Stevie was quoted as saying “ I don’t play with a lot of finesse. I usually play like I’m breaking out of jail” …. ~ “He’s toying with us!” Me : Oh just you wait ! < seconds later, SRV slings the guitar behind his back without missing a note>
You have ti checkout Stevie's version of Third Stone From The Sun. Song sounds normal, but what he does to his guitar is criminal. It's a lesson on what the Whammy Bar can do on a guitar. I personally have never seen anyone do anything close to destroying a guitar as Stevie does his!
Check out Stevie Ray Vaughan live at The Festival 3rd Stone from the Sun.❤❤ ya'll think he blew your mind playin' Texas Flood. Thats nothin' to what he does in this song. MIND BLOWER ALERT.YA'LL BEEN WARNED. P.S. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME. ❤❤❤❤
First, John my Brother I beg to differ...I am married to the most gorgeous/beautiful woman in the Galaxy 😉 As far as Stevie is considered 😢 there will be no other. Spread the love 🐶😎🇺🇸
Good one on the SRV being served thing. I hadn't heard it before. Y'all probably noticed that Stevie missed not one beat while moving the guitar back and forth. NOT ONE!!!
You ain’t seen nothing yet lol but here’s the thing his guitar was his life he struggled with drugs and his brother the other guitar player helped stevia overcome his addiction gave Stevie his first guitar and this was therapy for him
BB King said, "Most guitarists play words. I play sentences SRV plays paragraphs" RIP SRV
Wow, that's something!
"Stevie was an endless, open channel that music just poured out of. He made people who'd never touched a guitar in their life want to pick one up and start playing, and he made those of us who'd played live onstage with him before want to quit."............Eric Clapton.

Goddamn you are SO lucky!!
One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
R.I.P. SRV. When guitars go to sleep at night they dream of being played by SRV. None better pure talent,
Born in Dallas Texas lived in Austin Texas the greatest guitarist ever RIP SRV WE ALL MISS YOU
This is the live performance my guitars watch while I’m not home
I just love Stevie Ray Vaughan!!!! He oozed 'sexy swagger' from every pore on his bod! .. Did I mention he played pretty mean guitar licks too? .. 😎.. This video never gets old. Only better like a fine wine✌..
SRV is simply the GOAT! I saw an interview with his brother Jimmy Vaughn and he said that the thing about Stevie Ray was he could play lead and rhythm at the same damn time 😊
RIP Stevie Ray 1954-1990. Forever missed....
Love how Stevie can make it sound like he's playing a slide guitar without playing one. He's definitely in my top 5 guitarist of all time ❤🎸🥰🤘👍
You should do Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Healey together. Both have this incredible solos back to back and watch as Jeff plays a note that impresses Stevie Ray Vaughan. They tear it up.
"Look at Little Sister" would be the SRV & Jeff Healey video to go to.
This is what they call a eargasm

Totally agree with him !
Love to see younger people appreciating Stevie Ray, great reaction
Her lips told it all.
It's a compliment, I swear!
I got to see him so many times in Austin. You forget to even DRINK when you were absorbing his genius. Miss him dealy.
You can literally see pain in his eyes from how hard hes playing 😮
The look on your faces… priceless
If you want to see Stevie Ray mind warp a guitar with distortion and effects, you should check out his performance of Third Stone From The Sun from his Rockplast concert.
BEST that ever walked the Earth.
SRV was and always will be my FAVOURITE guitarist. ❤
The GOAT OF GOATS!!!!!!!😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
"Life Without You" live at Capitol theater is just as amazing. You have to watch close or you'll miss something.
You guys just witnessed history. Appreciate it
Stevie had the very rare gift of just standing on stage closing his eyes and letting his heart and soul take over his guitar
Seeing him up close and personal was simply mind-blowing.
I was fortunate enough to see the GOAT 6 times and it was by far the greatest conerts/performances of my entire life. Several of these I was within 20 feet of him. I loved your faces when he played the guitar behind his back
Best reaction so far to this song, no constant talking over vids you guys are great
“Just got SRV’d”. It’s definitely a thing now 🎸
So awesome to see you guys do a reaction to this particular video. What can I say about Stevie? He was a humble person almost soft spoken sometimes. He was the GOAT no doubt. He played the guitar like it was a weapon of mass destruction. He's definitely missed.
I saw SRV live in Utica NY and he played that behind the back lick in a floor length trench coat .... A-friggin-mazing!!!
As great as his recorded music is, his live performances were even better!
A SRV concert would be a full 1 1/2 hours of melt your face mind blowing guitar.
Stevie played on David Bowies LP Lets Dance 1983.
I miss Stevie...Hendricks was a huge influence on SRV,the behind the back guitar playing he got from Hendricks along with lighting his guitar on fire and playing behind his head.....SRV was as underrated as they came and he was a genius
Jimi may have written Voodoo Child but Stevie owned it.
The greats died way too young, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray. What a loss to me. I grew up with Hendrix. I bought the Jimi Hendrix Experience album in 1967 two days after the album was in the record store. I was 15 and still in high school.
Stevie was the greatest
The faces people make when he played behind his back

❤SRV the 🐐 of 🎸
Lmao! THATS TRUE TALENT🫵
Every time he played, he took the audience on a journey with him. This is one of the reasons he is called the GOAT.
I've been playing guitar for over 50 years. I saw SRV 4 TIMES
He always made me want to go home and burn my guitars
He was a full blown monster player
GOAT!
GOAT
The Best Forever!
This guy's guitar never gets tired, 😂wow... 👹
Peak level musician
so entertaining. thanks. SRV you've been SRV'd LOL
God created blues guitar because he knew Stevie was coming along one day.
“A life changing performance.” Well said.
One word.....GOAT
He knew how to make his guitar talk for him
Srv. GOAT!!!!!
If I m not mistaken his strings were between 14-16's at the time and still able to do bends lime that os mindboggling
Listening to SRV is akin to a religious experience 😎
P.S. Y'all too cute ❤
They say the guitar needed a cigarette after this.

I am also 70, SRV was better! Clapton is good, but he’s on the lean side of the greats!
@@williamcabell142 Different styles but Clapton is still one of the greats. That's my opinion and I'm sure a lot of other folks will agree.
Hey man! I've been listening to SRV since "Soul to Soul" came out in 1985 and they started playing "Look at Little Sister" on the radio. I've been a big fan since then and I've never heard, "You've been SRV'd!" I thought it was great and I'm going to use it - ✌

Nice.

The G.O.A.T
Although he was in a cocaine induced coma 1 hour before the show, and had to have medical personnel rouse him with IV fluids, this wa s still his best performance on tape.
The extra extra notes and sweat are from the IV fluids and the cocaine.
Source for this statement? Never heard it.
~ “He plays so aggressively” …
Me : Stevie was quoted as saying “ I don’t play with a lot of finesse. I usually play like I’m breaking out of jail” ….
~ “He’s toying with us!”
Me : Oh just you wait !
< seconds later, SRV slings the guitar behind his back without missing a note>
Stone cold responses! Why are you alone, lady? Scary shit!!
🎸🎸💙SRV💙🎸🎸
The telephone lines are down!
Keep in mind watching this he played 13s. His fingers were destroyerd after a show. There are some gnarly pitcures you can find of his fingers.
And he's not using a pick.
You guys really need to jump into some Jeff Heally " See the light " original black and white, also Johnnie and Edgar Winters, "Tobacco Road " live.

SRV is Guitar 😎😁
😍🤯🎸🔥🐐
There's an outdoor version of Dirty Pool that's a total face melter.
TEXAS BLUES !!!!!!!!
No one works the strings like SRV. No one.
Just go read what his fellow guitarist said about him. He is by far the Goat
Most pro guitar players use between 08. & .10 gauge strings SRV used .13 gauge and that makes what he did even harder
And he's not using a pick.
First, John my Brother I beg to differ...I am married to the most gorgeous/beautiful woman in the Galaxy 😉 As far as Stevie is considered 😢 there will be no other. Spread the love 🐶😎🇺🇸
🔥🐐🔥
You listening to a grand master
Texas finest
see how he dont look see how he makes his guitar cry see how he plays how he feels
Good one on the SRV being served thing. I hadn't heard it before.

This song should come with a warning label that listening may cause permanent stank face.
"He makes it look too easy"..... me: Just wait.....
srv "voodoo chile" live in nashville...
SRV = THE G.O.A.T.
Chuck Norris bumped into Stevie Ray Vaughan one day....and walked away silently.
Somewhere around the world, someone is getting their ass beat to this song in a pool hall...
If anyone wants to be the best guitarist in the World... they have to beat that.
RUMOR HAS IT THAT AFTER THAT SONG THE GUITAR SMOKED A CIGARETTE
