This is the quiticential Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble performance that everyone should be reacting to. That break down leading in to Reese Wynans' keyboard solo followed by that guitar flourish is just perfection.
I'm not sure if you are aware but there is a new YT channel that is remastering many SRV and other blues legends in 4K called "Vintage Blues in 4K". I thought you might like to know as the videos are stunning as is the sound. Maybe you can give "Cold Shot" or the nursery rhyme "Mary Had A Little Lamb" a listen as I see you haven't reacted to either of these yet. Enjoy.
Yes. My favorite SRV song. Very special. Written for his friend Charley Wirz who died of a heart attack. He was Stevie's mentor and he helped Stevie work on his guitars. The guitar Stevie uses for this song is named Charley after his friend. They worked on it it's a white guitar. Often brings tears to my eyes.
One of my favorites live....this should have been bigger for him.His singing was underrated....his voice sounded like his guitar to me.Those are some sweet notes he hits on this song.
SRV my GOAT for sure. Perfect storm of talent, hard work, and a childlike exuberance on the stage. He was humble off the stage, but man we he played, it was 100% beast mode. RIP Brother Stevie!
'I ain't gonna give up on love' (my favorite SRV song) from this show is one of my favorite videos of Stevie... because of his reaction to audience applause after his solo..it really shows what a humble man he was. Everyone knew he was the best ever, except for Stevie. What a beautiful priceless gift he blessed the world with...something we should all be doing with the talents we're given. Great reaction from your newest subscriber..many blessing be yours!
Yes!! Absolutely I hope you will react to Ain’t Gone and Give Up On Love from the Capitol Theatre performance. He was truly a special person with an amazing talent!
Just incredible performance to think how much more incredible music he could have made is mind blowing shot out to the hole band .thanks so much for what you left us GOD bless.🌷🙏🇺🇸
Have you seen him with Jeff Healey, the blind guitarist? Who passed young too from Cancer I think. They do "Look at Little Sister" together. It's fire!
Jeff was amazing I cooked a meal for him when he did his Jazz thing in a small dinner club, what a humble guy put on a great show for only 50 people, the SRV Jeff video is awesome I recommend..
The first time I ever heard SRV was late 80's...I was walking through the living room...MTV was on and the music video of this was on. Stopped me in my tracks!
My top guitarists are Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Billy Gibbons, Steve Howe, and SRV. They're all amazing in their own right, but SRV's power, energy, and passion are second to none. He's comitted, all out. I guess if those I mentioned who don't get enough press is Steve Howe. As a guitar player myself, i can tell you there's no one like him in technique. He's rarely just playing chords or a solo. He uses chords, octaves, triades, and other combinations like no one I've ever played. Couple of others not mentioned much are Alvin Lee (see Goin' home, Woodstock), Frank Zappa, Alex Lifeson, Rory Gallagher, Jeff Healey, Vernon Reid, and Prince, who is certainly under-rated.
Great list! My list of favorite guitarists: Jimi Hendrix, SRV, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, Johnny Winter, David Gilmour, Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, Peter Green, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Robin Trower, Buddy Guy, John Cipollina, and Danny Kirwan.
I worked about three shows with Stevie Ray Vaughan I just a chance to do the local union this one I was at the Capital Theater Passaic New Jersey I was on the side of the stage he was on I was off in the distance but close enough water what a great human being I shall miss him R.I.P
Check out Jeff Healey, he even did a duo with Stevie Ray on the song little sister. Jeff Healey is totally blind and plays the guitar on his lap, is really amazing to watch. Her man was a guitar wizard and totally capable of holding his own with Stevie Ray.
You’re right. There are a lot of great guitarists out there and if you’ve never heard of Joe Bonamassa, I’d like to see if you would discover him. He is not mainstream and is one of those very successful musician that doesn’t go through the channels that put him in the spotlight. Joe is also a blues rocker who grew up following Eric Clapton, BB Kong and this man right here, SRV. As a teenager Joe even donned a hat to emulate Stevie. Joe has gone through so many changes and just to start you off on one song to view would be “ Just Got Paid live at the Royal Albert Hall”. He also collaborates with other artists and the one he Is awesome with is a fantastic singer by the name of Beth Hart. Give him a chance and see what you think.
"Stanley Jordan live on Letterman" I promise you wont be disappointed in the least. Not very well known today among aspiring guitarists, but he did have some fame in the 80's as a jazz musician. The dude is an amazing guitar player.
Stevie was on fire here- maybe I will play some blues, maybe a little funk, a solo, some rhythm, solo and rhythm at same time, sing a little-- I never cared for this song until this version- awesome performance
My favorite moment is when Stevie and the bass player (Tommy) are swinging their guitars in unison. 4:55. Also, I agree he is the greatest ever. Not the greatest composer, but the best technically.
Check out Gary Moore, Tab Benoit, Jonny Lang, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, brother. Trust me. Insane talent, no reactions. Great reaction video from you as always. There will only be one SRV, GOAT.
I love SRV. Cant go a day that I don’t listen to him. And, he needs to be seen to see how he does some things. Thanks for reacting to him! Try “Life Without You” from this same concert. ua-cam.com/video/DQ4REYdCkTw/v-deo.html
Hey man, I really enjoy your channel. I know you are a youtuber, but have you ever considered radio? You have a great voice and have a great presentation.
Please review and react to Tommy Emmanuel. The song Classical Gas. He's not underrated. Those that know guitar know how amazing he is. He is almost entirely unknown in the United States. He's from Australia and is a master of the guitar.
Couldn't Stand the Rain?! C'mon man! Haha. Here's a short little diddy by Stevie: "Life By the Drop" ua-cam.com/video/ihoudTTcWp4/v-deo.html. Sweet melody, slower tempo. .
Top of the line Van Halen, Angus Young, the guitarist for queen, the guitarist for led zeppelin, and jimi Hendrix.....buddy guy, bb king...but the hest blues man ever is SRV
Just when you think, you've seen his best, SRV grabs another gear, and Whoosh, just like that, your face is melted again.
Stevie is a king to all us blues heads in Texas.
This is the quiticential Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble performance that everyone should be reacting to. That break down leading in to Reese Wynans' keyboard solo followed by that guitar flourish is just perfection.
I was lucky enough to see him play live back in 86'
Thank you very much. Agreed 1000% he was the greatest guitarist of all time.
Almost a religious experience watching this, and that band, WOW they are next level, especially in this song the drums and keyboards. 🔥🔥🔥
Guitar slinger if there ever was and to have such a band
that has got to be one of the tightest bands i have ever heard
Life without you from this concert is a must watch
Definitely
The GOAT OF GOATS, NO INSULT TO THE GREAT AX PLAYS ALIVE OR PAST! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏

Great shit. The GOAT. Taken way to soon.. Love your SRV reactions. More. More. Thanks. RIP STEVIE.
Stevie died 30 years ago this past August. RIP Stevie......
This was a whole concert. It was awesome seeing this beautiful man live.
"Life Without You" from this show is the next you should do. You won't be disappointed. It's life changing.
Beat me to it! That was going to be my suggestion. Great minds think alike! 👍

Totally agree 100% I was about to suggest the same thing
One of my favorites live....this should have been bigger for him.His singing was underrated....his voice sounded like his guitar to me.Those are some sweet notes he hits on this song.
Stevie on his guitar and Reese pounding the keyboard was such a powerful combination! Just amazing to watch
Music was Stevie , Stevie was music.
He moves people's hearts and souls. 🎸
Yes Sir!!!!!! I L-O-V-E this song! SRV you are loved and missed ❤️
SRV my GOAT for sure. Perfect storm of talent, hard work, and a childlike exuberance on the stage. He was humble off the stage, but man we he played, it was 100% beast mode. RIP Brother Stevie!
The only description that comes to mind for his guitar playing is Nuclear!
I’m glad you played this version of this song.😎
Love Stevie, need to check out Leave my girl alone, live in Austin Texas🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yes

Every time I watch this, I love how you literally become speechless at that cord break in SRV's solo and have to replay it!
🎶🎸Just when I thought it couldn't get better! Give "Riviera Paradise` a try!
Just incredible performance to think how much more incredible music he could have made is mind blowing shot out to the hole band .thanks so much for what you left us GOD bless.🌷🙏🇺🇸

Jeff was amazing I cooked a meal for him when he did his Jazz thing in a small dinner club, what a humble guy put on a great show for only 50 people, the SRV Jeff video is awesome I recommend..
"Couldn't Stand The Weather" was the highlight of the show when I saw SRV, and it's not easy selecting a standout from his live performances.
Gone to early I’m glad I got to see him 3 times love everyone
I love the guitar and those who play it well. There has never been anyone like SRV. There are many worth listening to.
Do Mary had a little lamb from Austin City Limits 1989🎸🎸
So soothing watching him play that guitar
May I suggest Riviera Paradise? One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever.
Love this song. A band I was in use to cover it. That was many years ago. Brings back great memories.
The first time I ever heard SRV was late 80's...I was walking through the living room...MTV was on and the music video of this was on. Stopped me in my tracks!
The keyboardist is Reese Wynans he works a lot with Joe Bonamassa. Another fine guitar player. Love that funk rift in the middle
Really great performance!
Greatest 100%

I would add John Mayer to the list of underrated guitarists. He's a SRV historian of sorts, and is a dang good blues guitarist.
Great list! My list of favorite guitarists: Jimi Hendrix, SRV, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, Johnny Winter, David Gilmour, Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, Peter Green, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Robin Trower, Buddy Guy, John Cipollina, and Danny Kirwan.
Check out "life without you" from capital theater

Try Steve Vai playing Zomby Woof with Zappa's band. The title says Frank Zappa but it's Dweezel (his son). You'll love the guitar work.
