If you haven't been to Ocala National Forest, give it a try. There are 4 awesome springs there to swim in and some excellent camp sites. I go to Salt Springs mostly because it is closer to my house but all of them deserve a visit. The Florida Trail runs through the park also with miles of trails and primitive camping. Haven't made it to Blue Spring yet but that is for a future trip. The wife wants to see all the manatee and winter is the best time to camp in Florida because of the summer heat unless you are coming to swim. If you are going for primitive camping, park at Juniper Springs and take the Florida Trail north to Hidden Pond. It's a nice 4 mile hike to a spring fed pond.

⛺️ If you haven't checked out Rainbow Springs hit us up we've converted our 10 acre homestead into a Glampsite just 10 minutes from the park!

Yes I believe there was one instance . There is always a risk when being in the wild
