a big part of setting solar is believing in solar, your helping people become energy independent and helping the planet, and saving people money. it's a win win win,
Totally agreed
Oh yeah, especially when you can overcharge or sell way more than they need. Getting them locked into a loan that makes it almost impossible to sell their house without having to pay off their solar first 💰
@@randy5894 yeah, don't know who screwed you over, I work for a super ethical company that truly helps people, that don't mean that there isn't shady solar companies out there, ive talked with many homeowners that got screwed by other companies
@@justinfinch2458 I bet you got a few customers that you've screwed. Guarantee it
@@randy5894 we dont install on homes that aren't ideal for solar unless someone is willing to take a loss just for the environmental bonus points. I cant 100% guarantee someone hasnt had a bad experience, we have a very high customer satisfaction rating, 4.5+ out of 4k people, that's a lot of very pleased people
Today was my first day selling solar, had 10 conversations but not leads but after watching this im hype for tomorrow!
How is going now? I just did my first day no leads haha. Any advice?
I really love the 4th pitch. There’s no fluff, straight to the point without being overbearing. I’m in Utah so everyone and their mother has been knocked. I’ve learned I’m not the best with small talk so this approach has been working for me 🎉. Though I should try to get better with the small talk
Finallly a video on selling solar that's not just about pushing the customer and trying to convince them to buy something they don't want. I just passed my Palmetto sales certification and I can't wait to get into sales!
i've been trying out so many pitches that I need to apply one that works consistently, this video helped alot for my journey into the field again. On a constant path to learn more and get better
great content, Sam! it was a pleasure meeting you back in July!
Love #4. Pitch that bad boy with confidence!
I am absolutely passionate about solar and my pitch projects just that ❤️⚡️
This helps so much I’m in my first week selling solar today and I got my first donut for creating leads. I’m so motivated for tomorrow and these tips will seriously help.
how is it turning out?
Sam, you are a true Inspiration and a solid mentor. I've been watching your videos since the 10 tips for d2d sales and you deserve some credit for my success, I've gone from a setter to a closer and trainer in a new market in a different state since. Yes my company is phenomenal and hands on, however I use you as a reference for the people I am training and wanted to say Thank You for doing what you are doing!
Thanks man
Thanks Sam!!
I do Utah and Tucson AZ. Definitely a different strategy with saturated markets than the usual.
Great stuff Sam!
I love the 3rd one
Amazing, thank you
Very neat! thanks bro!
I been working for a solar company for a couple months doing install. I have to say if a person really knows how solar works and the way its set up! Going door to door doing sales should be cake! After my 3rd month working install I plan to transfer over to sales!
Just started door to door sales and am trying to learn a couple things do you have an ig?
I could be wrong but I strongly believe that homes in the future will at least have an option to get installed w a solar panel
Ive been installing solar for about 4 years now and am about to move to FL and give a shot at selling
I save this video this is great information and I definitely need some help
Solar is going to have a mass adoption. I studied Math and Physics at university. I'm going to work out the math. As the panels get more efficient they lose less energy as heat, as we know heat contributes to degredation of the system. So as the efficiency goes up linearly, the life of the panels also goes up. You can imagine a panel that's 50% efficient that lasts for 50 years. It's mind boggling, it might take 25 years to get that mass produced but, assuming we don't solve fusion energy in the next 25 years, solar should be the main source of energy.
Now we have to work on how to store the energy.
IT NEEDS TO BE THE NEXT BEST THING
I do it in RI smallest state in the country but the market is massive
Definitely the next energy Revolution
I’m in the struggle phase now, just started selling solar
You’ll get through! Keep at it
Thanks Sam! Can you go over a video about closing for solar?
Im sure he already has a podcast and a video on it
Glad to see you gave that nice woman at the door a pearl necklace. I had a similar situation occur last week! Spring fever is in the air.
This is by far my favorite D2D video, I’m knocking for blue raven in NC as an appointment setter and your approach is solid
How long have you been with blue raven? I just started.
@@jv_9574 I’m also at blue raven you out of the Charlotte office?
I’m in NC where about you at? I’m out of the Charlotte office
@@experienceofchris1108 Greensboro
Another Blue Raven here in Idaho! Let's go y'all!
Yeah, solar is gonna be the next big thing, in the world and economy.
Crazy I was just having this conversation with manager and pulled up your video and you asked this lol. Depending on tax incentives and if they extend them and if solar keeps growing in popularity. But I’m curious how long the industry will stay hot and if congress will extend the tax credit after 2024.
I think solar is golden until legislation makes it cost prohibitive (expiration of tax credits and rebates)
Thanks for this awesome video Sam!
I think we got about 3 years before solar is going to be bottomed out in pricing for saturated markets like it is in Australia. You can see it in the way online companies are trying to give the low quotes and how net metering pushback in states like CA and FL so the pricing is going to have to come down. Maybe 4-7 years for new markets.
I'm going to be selling in just a few weeks! I'm so pumped. We just investing in Solar Panels
How’s it going thus far?
Do you train telemarketers for setting appointments?
solar revolution!!!
how many clients does a solar company have to get on average to be considered as okay doing company and
how much does an average solar company make a month?
What kind of software do you use in the field?
Pitch 2: owning vs renting I think will work best for me, simply because a lot of the leads here in the UK are spending around £60-£100 for their electric. But the solar system comes in at around £150 a month.
Anyone got any other tips for this demographic? Will be much appreciated
Energy Revolution
30%TC in Tx smacking rn😍
I believe solar is the future and that most of our energy if not all can be powered by solar
I'm trying to find a reputable company to sell solar for. Who do you recommend? I live in Arizona.
IT'SVTHE NEXT ENERGY REVOLUTION!!! 30% TAX CREDIT WAS JUST APPROVED!!!
It’s going to be around for awhile and be the next big thing! Even Elan Musk is doing it
I think the world keeps advancing as we speak and solar paneling is the next in , so maybe get more tactical , efficient .
I’ve worked in solar and I recently watched a video. If you only know savings and credits that’s only half of the story.
Thank you brotha! Through this video, you have motivated the bananas out of me, let's gooooo!
🔥🔥
Awesome Wisdom. Just started selling solar by knocking on doors, I think this sector will be hot until 2035
2035? Why do you think that?
Yes, why do you think 2035?
Sup Sam!
Great video. I usually go with the net metering pitch almost every door but there’s been a few times where I went to deep without mentioning solar😂😂so then the customer asks “oh so you’re selling solar” and then I’m just stuck like yeaaaaa and I lose the deal. This happened to me 3 times already so when is it a good time to transition the focus to the panels so the customer isn’t blindsided
Same happen to me where are you from
Don’t deny the solar just affirm it and push to what their need is
@@mgwent3871 you’re right bro I’m still doing solar and the best approach IMO is being transparent and helping who you can
I say I’m not here to sell you anything. I’m here to give you information that you as a homeowner need to have. Then I do a pull back and say we don’t even know if you’ll qualify. My job is to simply empower you as a homeowner and give you the information. If it makes sense, then cool, take full advantage of it, if not, then hold on to it until it does. Then you go and make it a no brainer during the close 😊
Never had any sales experience but I did work i customer service at a store. I have my electrical journeyman license too. Would this be something work leaving electrical career to do? Is it a good long term job? How difficult is it to do?
Can be he’s depending on your personality I feel. Definitely a little tough to get into. I don’t get paid from appointments until the project is fully built. I’m solely comimision
What are some good companies to work for for solar sales?
I can connect you hit me up on Instagram @thesamtaggart
Sams im having problems when started with the net metering pitch and they asked are you solar and they rejected me inmediatelly because in texas is saturated.
@@pablonavarrette2278 what part ?
PITCH!! you have so many Pushups you need to do man.
First day 2 leads..
This panel can put out close to 100 watts ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxOqI2yqX0XVrhR2BMJciTWrHJpG8FhJyg when positioned in the appropriate southernly direction, tilted to the optimal angle for your latitude/date, and connected to a higher capacity device than a 500. The built in kickstand angle is a fixed at 50 degrees. Up to 20% more power can be output by selecting the actual date and latitude optimal angle. The 500 will only input 3.5A maximum at 18 volts for 63 watts. Some of the excess power from the panel can be fed into a USB battery bank, charged directly from the panel while also charging a 500. This will allow you to harvest as much as 63 + 15 = 78 watts. If this panel is used to charge a larger device, such as the power station, then its full output potential can be realized.
Solar doesn't need to be sold. Homeowners just need to get educated. And don't ever talk about savings. It's a wormhole with buncha regurgitated numbers.
Savings topic has gotten me so many fricking closes
@@Mrcryptic504 - once u talk numbers, that's all they remember. Until you get a site assessment, its just guessing. Especially since no two systems and usage are identical.
What do you suggest then?
What do u think door to door sales ppl r trying to do? Educate and also sell, home owners are getting educated through this
Solar is the very near future for all homes
Net Metering worked great in California, but will stop in April, when homeowners will receive a 75% reduction in the amount the electric company returns.
Anyone have tips on how to get over knocking on strangers' doors?
i think u also trained my comapny green energy for americaa
It sucks when you knock in Sea-Tac Washington and you happen to hit a neighborhood that's primarily a non-English speaking community.
As a homeowner, I would prefer an upfront pitch. The guys who say things like, 'I'm with the metering team', 'we want to use your home as a model', gets on my nerves.
But a lot of homeowners (in saturated markets) immediately slam the door if you do the upfront approach. That’s why we have to take an around about approach of net metering because it buys us a little more time to get our to our presentation, and thus get more appts
Trust me as a solar canvasser I would love to do the straightforward approach, but I live in Florida and right now that just won’t fly out here.
Solar energy is only on the beginning stage right now…
Hi Sam, I would like to know, how could I manage this options in a call center? Because I am working with that, and sometimes is so different and a little difficult. Thanks
Follow Jeremy miner
@@rud3dogg Thanks 😊
Call center is less advantageous because you don't get a chance to look at the house in-person to see if the house qualifies. Secondly, its less a less human experience over the phone; the customer will find it easier to disregard what you have to say.
@@drippinwet774 Thanks

AI and automation will likely eliminate most, if not all sales reps. The money will be in the installation of solar, rather than the sale of solar itself.
Where's Michael Che?
The future is renewable
I just bought a house that has solar panels on the roof. The system is in good working order and is still under warranty but I need a new roof and I'd like to sell the system to someone who is interested. How do I get started in this process? Thank you!
You can’t really transfer it just like that
@@D2DExperts then what can you do?
Hi Karen, where are you located?
@@1tamivasquez Ithaca, NY
why would you want to sell somethig that will save you money for the next 25 yrs , just look for a company that can install solar and roof they should be able to disasemble the panels install the roof and reinstall the panels for a moderate cost
I was interested in the course until I seen the price tag
Hispanic latinos are the best to sell but i have more gringos. Solar is saturated out here. It changed past 3 yrs. Too many companies
Lol he said mike Mike oddnel he had crews i worked with them
A lot of States are getting rid of net metering and are doing a minimum payment for the meter to be on ur house. NUCLEAR WILL BE THE FUTURE
This weekend update sucked
😂😂😂 where’s Michael?
The more people that have solar will make more people want solar when more people started buying Tesla cars more people started buying Tesla's now they are common
What do you all think bout Power Home Solar company?
A simple Google search on Power Home Solar will give you the answers you need. Lots of bad reviews!
Buying solar is like buying a car I just got a quote of 40k for a 5kw system lol.
Buying your electricity is like burning money and gets a lot more expensive when u add that up
@@D2DExperts Not if your getting scammed by sales people, this is destroying the industry.
Greg, let’s get into contact over 40,000 for a 5kw system is way too high. I bet I can get you a WAY better proposal.
@@gregalot200 Thats definitely an overpriced system but unless you're trying to pay cash or an upfront significant payment, at least here in Vegas, it's virtually the same monthly as paying a standard electric bill. That's not opinion, that's just true. Unless of course someone quotes your monthly solar payment as much higher than your electric bill, and of course it is within your right to say no or look for a second, third or however many other offers.
@@jorgeortiz5357 Installed it as self contractor and sub contracting it out total cost was 9k.

This is just old Tin Men selling things have moved on.
solar is going to yo mamas house

Ugh, can you guys leave me alone? I keep getting solar salespeople knocking on my door. At least I've figured out a quick way of getting rid of them, but it's still annoying.
I just tell everyone who comes to my door selling big ticket items like this that I'm a renter lol, instantly shuts them down since renters (typically) cannot make the decision on these kinds of purchases.
I hope you have a low electric bill dude💀💀
Yea yea yea… we know about your type
What seems to pull you away from solar? I would love to see what isn’t clicking for you about solar
Haha there is a million of you.
Just get a no soliciting sign bozo
If you REALLY want to understand how this dude sells, you first have to understand that he's selling his "upgraded" sales course to YOU, RIGHT NOW.
That's the ONLY reason this video exists. It's the bait to get you hooked and reel you in.
DON'T BE A SUCKER.
is there really anything wrong with that, as he flat out mentioned it in the video. It's really no different than any other YTer trying to sell their product/service. At least he was upfront about it, then any type of bait and switch.
@@markw.6526Yea there is, lil bro is trying to net meter us into his course.
Are their any successful African-American reps? I honestly think I have different issues than a typical white male rep.
I just started at a solar company. Don't know why race has to get brought into this but from what I see, there are some folks of other races that my white ass is jealous of in my office, they're killing it
I’m not a big pitch guy, sales is about talking to people pitches are nice but if you can’t speak without a pitch you will go no where in sales.
